“Christine was wonderful with Gandom! She is very knowledgeable and made Gandom feel comfortable and at ease during her stay. She communicated with me regularly, sent updates, took Gandom on long walks, and made sure she was fed on time and well cared for. I felt very comfortable knowing Gandom was in good hands. I would absolutely book with Christine again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

About: At this time, I will only be accepting one dog at a time. The only exception may be dogs from the same household. I do have a resident dog in my home, but she is very low maintenance. That means your dog will get my (almost!) undivided attention. I have lots of experience with taking care of dogs of all backgrounds from fostering and dogsitting, including puppies. I'm very in tune with the needs of dogs. I have taken care of dogs of all sizes, from 10 pounds to 50 pounds. I love sending lots of pictures and videos throughout the day (although I am not a professional photographer!) to give the owners updates. I work from home so I'm able to keep my eye on your dog all day. Note that for doggie day care, it will be during the hours of 7am to 7pm. Any hours beyond this range can still be accommodated for but extra rates may apply. Feel free to discuss with me! I am currently working from home, so I will have lots of time for your furry children. I have a fenced backyard and would be able to take the dogs out for potty breaks during the day. I have a fenced yard and my own dog of 5 years. I also am used to loss dog prevention protocols from fostering dogs. I have doggie gates in my house to separate if needed, and can put my dog in another part of the household or crate her, if needed.

“This was the first time using Rover. I was a little nervous at first leaving my fur baby with someone I didn't know. Despina and her family are very welcoming and friendly. Despina always kept me in the loop on how Meya was doing by providing lots of photos and updates. Would definitely rebook with Despina and would highly recommend others with her service. Meya had so much fun that when we got home she was happy and exhausted with all the love she received from Despina and her family.”

“Roo loved her visit with Michele! Michele was super communicative, flexible and attentive with Roo. Lots of walks, photos and updates throughout the day. We are so happy we found Michele and would recommend her to anyone looking for care for their dog!”

“Dommond is an outstanding sitter for my dog and incredibly reliable. My dog Toby always comes home so happy after spending time with him and his wife. I’m grateful to have found such caring people to watch my dog when needed!”

About: I have been taking care of pets for more than 7 years in total. Currently I have two cats at my house. One raised from a kitten, the other one adopted from shelter when he was 1 year and a half. Having two cats at home and working from home means I have been staying with them and taking care of them everyday. Except feeding and playing with them, I brush their teeth, clean their ears, clipping nails and check on them on a weekly basis. I treat all equally. They are not just pets. They are little angels and sweeties. I treat my cats like my babies. They are part of my family. You cats and dogs will be treated as my own, too.
“Lucy was wonderful with Hiro. She was kind, attentive to his needs, and kept us updated throughout his stay. She was very gentle with him, and we could tell Hiro had such a great day in her care because he came home tired and slept like a baby. We would be happy to book with her again in the future. Highly recommended!”

“Claire is great. I was very nervous about leaving my puppy with anyone but she was so gentle with him. She also sent me updates during the day along with pictures and a video. I am very happy I chose Claire and would highly recommend her.”

“When I dropped Bolt and Smokey off for daycare at Anna's, they recognized her front door. They patiently waited to go inside and it warmed my heart to see Bolt prancing when he got in. I was greeted by the grandma who said she missed them and a little girl who was saying, "Doggy doggy!". Anna was wonderful welcoming them in the house and sending me pictures throughout the day. At pick up, I knew they had a great time, the tell tale sign is when they don't want to leave. The family said their goodbyes and I'm looking forward to dropping them off for boarding in a couple weeks. Wonderful communication and service from Anna. Thank you so much for accommodating my two old doggies. My mind is so at ease knowing they are well loved at your place. Big thank you to Rosseau for sharing his humans with them. Thank you!”

“Eddie was very kind and enthusiastic about looking after my dog Ruby. I appreciated meeting up before the daycare appointment to see how our two dogs interacted. Ruby came home happy and I believe she had a very good day with him. Thanks so much Eddie.”

“Leizl and Mhae did a wonderful job caring for my dog Ruby. 🐶 She came home calm and tired and that shows a day well spent. I appreciated all of the photos and messages throughout the day. Their care and interest in her was so clear. Ruby looks forward to seeing you again soon.”

“As soon as we got out of the car, my puppy ran to Rie and both my dogs were excited to stay with Rie. They're very comfortable with Rie's family and I got frequent picture updates, and I know they're always safe and comfortable with her in her home.”
“Finding a great pet sitter hasn’t been easy. We’ve spent a lot of time looking for someone we could truly trust, and I honestly think we’ve finally found that person. Knowing our pet is safe, loved, and so well cared for gives us complete peace of mind. And Jin is a very kind person. We’re incredibly grateful and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter.”

“Mingqi and Bingkai were really attentive with Teddy. They truly made him feel at home and were constantly checking in to make sure he was comfortable and happy. Even though they’re newer to dog sitting, they are absolutely people I would go back to and trust again. Their dog, Zeze, was also amazing and really helped create such a warm, home-like environment for Teddy. It made such a difference knowing he had a friendly companion to play with. They consistently sent me video updates and kept me informed throughout Teddy’s day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell he was well cared for and genuinely happy. I’m so grateful for the love and attention they gave him!”

“Caroline was amazing with Abby! She took such great care of her, brought her to the dog park, played fetch, and kept us updated throughout the day, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear that Abby had a wonderful time and was very well looked after. We would absolutely love to use Caroline again in the future and would highly recommend her to other dog parents.”

“Luna had such a wonderful time today! Ziqi was caring, reliable, and clearly loves dogs — Luna came home happy, relaxed, and a little tired from all the fun. Communication was smooth, updates were thoughtful, and I felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy sitter!”

I had a great experience booking dog daycare with Michele. She took my dog Rosie on multiple walks and to the dog park (since my dog loves it). It was definitely a bonus knowing she wasn’t just being “babysat” but that she had a very fun and active day. Rosie got along great with Michele’s dogs.

I love using Jiayi to dog sit my fur baby. Jiayi and her mom takes very good care of my dog, and my dog really enjoys spending time with them. I have used them for both overnight long stays and day care and each time I have the comfort of knowing that my dog is well cared for. I get regular updates via videos and messages so I always know how my dog is doing.

Vivian and Kyu took exceptional care of my high energy pup. Building her confidence with them through constant play, walks and showering her with love. As a anxious dog mom, I am 100% confident in the level of care they give and can't wait to take my pup back to them.

Carole and Kevin were absolutely amazing. This was our first time leaving our fur baby with anyone other than my mother, and they were super understanding and took extra care of our girl. The pictures and videos of her during the whole day were a huge comfort and relief to us and helped with the transition of our first doggy daycare experience. Would definitely recommend Carole & Kevin, and will be back.

Krishnaa and her husband are great! They offered to dog sit our pet right at the last moment when we had to run for a medical emergency. They are kind, experienced and our pet really enjoyed her stay at their place. We are very grateful to both of them. Highly recommend!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Newmarket commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
