About: I have experience with both big and small dogs, each with their own unique personalities. I’ve cared for dogs on personalized diets and have experience giving medication when needed. I love adapting to each dog’s needs and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well-loved. **I have a dog, but she does not live with me full-time, and won’t be with me at the time of bookings.** I was raised in a family that has always been pet-loving, so spending time with animals is something that truly brings me joy. Taking care of your pet would make me genuinely happy! I work full-time from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility for daily walks, playtime, and cuddles. My condo is fully pet-ready, safe, and in a pet-friendly building. I can supervise pets at all times, follow feeding instructions, administer medications, and provide a clean, secure environment. I’ll make sure your pet feels comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away.
About: I've cared for cats and dogs for over 2 years and run a full pet-loving household of my own — a Border Collie puppy, a Siberian Forest Cat, and a British Shorthair. Raising a high-energy puppy means I'm comfortable with leash work, crate routines, and active breeds, and I'm patient and gentle with seniors who need a slower pace. I can give oral medication, handle nail trims and brushing, and I make my own healthy dehydrator treats. I'm also fully bilingual in English and Mandarin. I work from home full-time, so pet care isn't squeezed into spare time — it's my main focus all day, every day of the week. Your pet is rarely left alone for long. I keep consistent feeding, walking, and play times, and I'm happy to do up to 4 walks a day plus regular backyard play. Because I'm flexible and always home, I can easily match my routine to your pet's normal schedule rather than forcing them into a new one. Safety is the first thing I set up. I have pet gates on the stairs of every floor, so cats and dogs are kept completely separate and never mix. Boarding cats stay upstairs, where each family's cat gets their own private, dog-free room, while dogs stay on the main floor and in a fully fenced, escape-proof backyard. I currently board cats already, I monitor every guest's appetite, litter, energy, and mood daily, and I can give oral medication exactly on schedule.
“Emily & Ling took wonderful care of my dog, Ebi! It’s clear they truly love dogs and treated her with so much care. Before the stay, they took the time to do a meet-and-greet, which was really helpful and reassuring. Communication was fast and easy, and we received photo and video updates throughout the day. Ebi is an anxious dog, so I’m always a bit nervous about leaving her with a sitter, but Emily & Ling made the entire process worry-free. We’d love to bring Ebi back for future stays. Thank you for taking such great care of her!”

“I was so happy with Kelly's approach to my very anxious and shy dog, Doug. I have been looking for an overnight solution for Doug for when we go away - and I've found her to be too anxious in big camp environments. I thought I'd try out a dog daycare day with Kelly to see how Doug would do. Kelly was really generous with her time. We had an initial phone call, where I provided a bunch of background information on Doug. It was clear from that phone call that Kelly just really understands dogs. She took the time to find a day in her schedule that had a few dogs that would be a good fit for Doug without being overwhelming. On the day of daycare, Kelly took time to allow Doug to meet all the dogs. When Doug was still a little anxious during the day, Kelly took her on a walk to help her feel a little less anxious. She also played ball with Doug to help her warm up. (Doug is relentless with ball, so I'm sure it was a bit relentless for Kelly..:) It was amazing to see how all the dogs just listen to Kelly - with her calm and gentle approach. I'll book more daycare with Kelly and will for sure have Doug stay with her the next time we go away. Thanks Kelly!”

“Heidi is awesome. This is the 1st time using the app, Heidi walked us through her process which made us feel very comfortable, she took notes of Nova's needs, she sent regular pictures, videos and updates on Nova's stay. I will highly recommend Heidi to anyone.”

“Ollie loved his time in Tiffany’s care. Noodle was a perfect match for Ollie’s energy they looked like best friends with all the playing they enjoyed throughout the day. Tiffany was very considerate in listening to our specific requests and considerations for watching Ollie. She was very patient and ensured that Ollie got the attention he needed throughout the day. She also shared photos and videos frequently to update us on how Ollie was.”

“Samantha is extremely kind and absolutely wonderful with my puppy. She was very communicative and made my pup feel at home at all times. I really appreciate her help with Loops and I would HIGHLY recommend her services. Thank you Samantha 😊”

About: Hello! I’m Niroji. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and caring for them is something I truly enjoy. I have a dog named Alfie, and through caring for him, I’ve gained valuable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of dogs’ unique personalities and needs. I’ve also enrolled him in socialization classes, which has helped me learn more about canine behavior and creating positive experiences for dogs. Over the years, I’ve cared for many dogs for friends and family, whether for a few hours, daily walks, or overnight stays. I currently work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. I understand that every dog is different, and I strive to make each one feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! 🐾 I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility to provide regular walks, playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I also have family members who love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, so your pup will always have company and care. 🐾 I provide a safe, calm, and supervised environment for every pet in my care. At my home, dogs are always closely monitored and have access to a fully fenced backyard with a secure, locked gate for safe outdoor play. I also have a friendly dog of my own who can offer companionship and social interaction, depending on your dog’s comfort level.

Carmen was incredible caring with ice! We needed last minute day care for him, and he was recovering from a leg injury as well. Carmen was so understanding, responsive and thoughtful with Ice - it gave us peace of mind the whole time he was with her. Will definitely consider Carmen for any future Pet care!!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Markham commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
