About: Hey I’m Charmaine ♡ I’ve had years of experience taking care of dogs. I love playing with dogs and taking them out for walks. My friends/neighbours have trusted me to take care of their pets when they’re busy. I work from home during the weekdays, so I’m usually available throughout the day. Feel free to message me if you’re ever looking for someone to care for your pups for the day/overnight - I’d be happy to help! 😊 I have a friendly pup of my own who is sweet, calm, and easygoing. She loves meeting and socializing with other dogs, and she’ll be happy to keep your pups company during their stay. 🐶💕
“Susan and Gordon are dog people and we’re really in tune with our dog’s rescue history and needs. They were lovely to meet, professional, great communicators, and respectful of our home and dogs routines. We really appreciated the daily text check-in’s and photos while we were abroad. The peace of mind and collaboration with our family (who provided the overnight care) made it possible to celebrate a milestone occasion and a happy dog grounded in his home environment. We would happily recommend them and will be making future requests. Many thanks Susan and Gordon for giving us such a special trip!!!”
“We could not be more grateful that we found Selina to look after our little guy while we were on vacation!! She is thoughtful and really cares about all fur babies. When we met her for introductions, she asked safety questions that we haven't even thought of. She helped us with our cat baby for two weeks, is reliable and on time everyday. She communicates well and sends lots of videos and pictures. We had last minute surprise needs, she was super helpful and did not hesitate to help.”

“Wai Ming was very friendly and responsive. He took great care of my dog and followed all the instructions. I would definitely book with him again and recommend him to friends.”

“Dayna was punctual, reliable and very considerate with Charlie. She provided updates through photos and texts on a daily basis and went extra miles to care for Charlie making sure he is comfortable, refilling food and water were, checking on his eating habits and noticing any changes in his behaviour and eating patterns Dayna is very reliable, trustworthy and has genuine love for pets.”

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with large breeds and multi-dog households. I currently care for two dogs of my own — an Alaskan Malamute and a young Samoyed — so I’m very comfortable managing different energy levels, personalities, and routines. I have experience with both puppies and adult dogs, including basic training reinforcement, socialization, and maintaining consistent routines. I’m also attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that means active play, structured walks, or a calm, low-stress environment. Most importantly, I treat every dog like my own and focus on creating a safe, loving, and well-balanced home while they’re with me. Pet care fits naturally into my routine as I already care for my own two dogs every day. I’m generally available throughout the weekdays and on Saturdays. I have a flexible schedule, with the exception of Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons when I have prior commitments. Outside of that, I’m able to provide consistent care, walks, and attention throughout the day. Backyard already fenced and my dog is really friendly and sweet with another dogs. And also can bring dogs walk outside if client request it.
“It was so easy to work with Venus, and she and our cat Ryder, got along so well right away. She communicates well, sends videos and photos, is very accommodating and you can just feel her love towards Ryder. Highly recommended. Thanks again and we'll be in touch for next time.”

“It was a pleasure having Niroji watch Milo and Teddy. The updates throughout the evening were fantastic. The fact she was available to help us out was great as it was very last minute. We will most definitely not hesitate to have her sit for us again. A wonderful experience all around. thank you Steve Morin”
About: I've cared for cats and dogs for over 2 years and run a full pet-loving household of my own — a Border Collie puppy, a Siberian Forest Cat, and a British Shorthair. Raising a high-energy puppy means I'm comfortable with leash work, crate routines, and active breeds, and I'm patient and gentle with seniors who need a slower pace. I can give oral medication, handle nail trims and brushing, and I make my own healthy dehydrator treats. I'm also fully bilingual in English and Mandarin. I work from home full-time, so pet care isn't squeezed into spare time — it's my main focus all day, every day of the week. Your pet is rarely left alone for long. I keep consistent feeding, walking, and play times, and I'm happy to do up to 4 walks a day plus regular backyard play. Because I'm flexible and always home, I can easily match my routine to your pet's normal schedule rather than forcing them into a new one. Safety is the first thing I set up. I have pet gates on the stairs of every floor, so cats and dogs are kept completely separate and never mix. Boarding cats stay upstairs, where each family's cat gets their own private, dog-free room, while dogs stay on the main floor and in a fully fenced, escape-proof backyard. I currently board cats already, I monitor every guest's appetite, litter, energy, and mood daily, and I can give oral medication exactly on schedule.
“Lin and her husband were amazing. They are the sweetest most caring people and that’s exactly who you want watching over your pet. They were so attentive to Winnie, responsive, set updates and pictures. We’re so glad Lin and her husband were our first experience with Rover.”

“As a nervous pet-parent, I couldn’t be more blessed to have found Vanessa to look after my dog when I’m away. Her impressive experience and love of animals showed during our meet and greet and when she looked after our little guy. He adores her! I’ve already rebooked her for our next trip away and I’m reassured having her look after him.”

About: What truly sets me apart is my background as a rescue pet parent. I understand that not every pet is 'plug and play', some need extra patience, a calm voice, and time to decompress. My experience has taught me how to read subtle body language and handle pets that may be shy, anxious, or have specific triggers. Additionally, as a working professional with a steady 9 to 5, I bring a high level of organization and reliability to my sittings. I am not someone who will flake or show up late; I treat your pet's schedule with the same respect I give my own career. You can expect detailed updates, photos from every walk, and a sitter who is deeply committed to maintaining your pet's existing routine and home security. Pet care is a dedicated part of my morning and evening routine. Because I work a consistent 9 to 5 schedule, I offer highly reliable and 'on the clock' care that pets thrive on. On Weekdays: I am available for early morning walks or check-ins before 8:30 AM, and I am fully dedicated to pet care starting at 5:30 PM for evening walks, feedings, and playtime. For house-sitting clients, your pet will have my full company throughout the evening and overnight. On Weekends: My schedule is completely open! I use Saturdays and Sundays for longer walks, adventure trail visits in the Markham area, and extended playtime. Safety is my top priority when caring for pets. When walking or visiting your home, I ensure all doors and gates are securely locked behind me and double-check leashes and harnesses before heading out. I am always vigilant of my surroundings to avoid high-stress situations or unfriendly off-leash dogs. Having cared for a rescue pet, I am very comfortable managing specialized instructions, from strict feeding schedules to administering medication. I believe in clear communication and will provide frequent photo updates and notes so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well-cared for in their own comfortable environment. I treat every home I enter with the utmost respect and every pet as if they were my own family
About: ONLY 1 fur friend each time. Pets are families. They deserve love and care. My mom had a cat, we play, eat, sleep together. He taught me how to enjoy life no matter what you have experienced or experiencing. My friend had a dog, I always go visit. We played and went out for walks often. Thank you so much for picking me and share your cute family with me. I only accept 1 fur friend or 2 from the same family each time so I can put all my attention on him/her. Loves hiking when weather permits,5km min. For 🐶 will provide daily walking data so you know how long we walked and how much energy we burned. We will go out for a walk in the morning time, lunch time and dinner time. More short 15-20 potty breaks in between as well. 3 times of walking of 30 min would be by default. On weekends will go hiking with 5km min. I lived in a pet friendly condo and the neighborhood is very quiet to take a walk. There are two community parks nearby to visit. When walking in the neighborhood and condo, will always meet at least 1 or 2 pet friend.

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors. I usually go for walks during the day, so taking a dog for a walk or visiting a pet fits perfectly into my schedule I am patient, attentive, and detail-oriented. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I treat every pet like my own.💗

She took very good care of our cat and followed all of our instructions while we were on vacation. She always responded very quickly when we contacted her and gave us many updates and photos. Our cat was happy and seemed to be very comfortable with her ! I would highly recommend Wing Shan for pet sitting services
Lin and her husband were amazing. They are the sweetest most caring people and that’s exactly who you want watching over your pet. They were so attentive to Winnie, responsive, set updates and pictures. We’re so glad Lin and her husband were our first experience with Rover.

Yuqing was absolutely wonderful while taking care of my two cats during our vacation. She was very responsible and attentive at every visit — always making sure to clean the litter box, change food bowls, refill water, and spend time playing with them. She also carefully observed their behaviour and promptly updated me on how they were doing. I especially appreciated the adorable photo updates — more than 25 pictures each time! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my cats were in such caring hands. Highly recommended!

Mark was amazing with Koa, he loved him! Koa is a german shepherd mix and has a lot of personality to him and can be hard to handle if you are not experienced, often finding people to watch him or leaving him with anyone makes me anxious, but Mark did an amazing job with him. He is very knowledgeable and shows that he is experienced, he knew how to handle Koa perfectly. He kept me up to date with a lot of photos and videos which i greatly appreciated, Koa looked so happy in every one. I would definitely highly recommend to book with them, I felt safe and comfortable leaving my baby with him. He was also very respectful to my home kept it clean and everything. I would definitely be booking again!

There are 6,251 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Markham. About 87% of Markham sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Markham stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Markham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
