Bernice was great! First time using Rover and she was flexible and easy to communicate with. She invited Zack and I to come and meet her outside her place so we could meet her dog Gala before they went off together. Zack had not eaten that morning and Bernice was kind enough to spoil him by hand feeding him! -I think both were entertained for the day! I have no hesitation in recommending Bernice look after your pet.

About: Hi! I’m a professional nurse, a trilingual communicator (EN/粵/國), and an experienced cat caregiver. On top of raising my own two cats from kittenhood—my eldest is now 5 years old—I am the go-to cat sitter for my friends whenever they travel. Combining my RN medical instincts with years of personal and trusted friend-care, I offer attentive, safe, and stress-free sitting so you can travel with absolute peace of mind! Because I have a flexible schedule, pet care fits seamlessly into my weekly routine! I am available anytime for visits, walks, or overnight stays, and I welcome same-day bookings for those last-minute emergencies or unexpected plans. My own two cats have a structured routine, which makes it easy for me to integrate your pets' specific feeding, playtime, and medication schedules into my day. Whether you need a bright and early morning visit, a midday check-in, or late-night care, my open availability means I can be there exactly when your pet needs me most. As a dedicated cat specialist, I provide care exclusively in the comfort of your home, where your cat feels safest. My priority is keeping their exact routine to minimize any stress while you are away. My visits include precise feeding, refreshing water bowls, daily litter box scooping, and tailored attention—whether that means active playtime or just quiet companionship. With my RN background, I maintain strict cleanliness, easily spot subtle changes in mood or health, and am fully comfortable administering medications or treatments if needed. You’ll receive detailed updates and photos after every visit, giving you absolute peace of mind that your kitty is in expert hands.

About: Mimi and Philip offer pet care services to help owners when they need to travel and can't bring their pets along. Some potential services they may offer include: - Pet boarding - Providing a safe and comfortable place for pets to stay while their owners are away, either in a facility or in a caregiver's home. - Pet sitting - Sending a caregiver to the pet owner's home to look after the pets and ensure they are fed, exercised, and cared for in their own environment. - Dog walking - Sending a dog walker to take the pets out for exercise and bathroom breaks during the day while the owners are away. - Transportation - Offering to pick up and drop off pets at the owner's home or the boarding facility. The key is that Mimi and Philip aim to provide pet owners with reliable, compassionate care for their furry family members when they can't be there themselves. This allows the owners to travel with peace of mind. Mimi & Philip have WFH (Work From Home) arrangements on most days and they’re very flexible with works outside and often they will bring their dogs along if dogs are allowed at their work zones Just a few key requirements for Mimi and Philip's pet boarding or sitting services: 1. Up-to-date vaccinations: - Pets will likely be required to have all their core vaccinations (e.g. rabies, distemper, parvovirus) up-to-date before being accepted for boarding or sitting. - Documentation of vaccination history may need to be provided. 2. Flea/tick/parasite control: - Pets may need to be on a flea, tick, and parasite prevention medication regimen. - This helps ensure the safety and health of all pets in the boarding or sitting environment. 3. Temperament and behavior: - Pets may need to pass a behavioral assessment or temperament test to ensure they are non-aggressive and able to safely interact with other animals. - Pets with known behavioral issues may have restrictions or require special accommodations. 4. Dietary and medication needs: - Owners may need to provide detailed information about the pet's diet, feeding schedule, and any medication requirements. - The boarding or sitting service may need to be able to accommodate special dietary needs or administer medications as prescribed. 5. Emergency contact information: - Owners will likely need to provide multiple emergency contacts and authorize the caregiver to seek veterinary care if needed. 6. Booking and reservation policies: - There may be minimum stay requirements, cancellation policies, and other booking guidelines. The goal is to ensure the safety, health, and comfort of all pets in their care. Clear communication between the owners and Mimi and Philip's service will be key.

About: I've been boarding dogs in my home for over a year, welcoming everything from gentle giants like Samoyeds, Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies, and Cane Corsos to sweet little Shih Tzus, Malteses, and Miniature Poodles. Big or small, every dog gets the same warmth, attention, and care — my home is their home. I also have experience with cat drop-in visits, stopping by to feed, play, and tidy up so your cat stays happy and comfortable in their own familiar space. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love all kinds of animals and take the time to learn each pet's personality and routine. You can count on me to treat your furry family member like my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine as a university student who studies from home. Most days I'm around the house, which means your pet always has company and attention throughout the day. My only full days away are Tuesdays and Fridays, when I have on-campus lectures from around 8 AM to 6 PM, but the house is never left empty. My household members are experienced with pets and are always home to ensure your furry friend is looked after, comfortable, and never alone. On Mondays and Wednesdays I have morning lectures, so I'm back home around 3 PM. Thursdays and weekends I'm completely free and fully available. My home is a safe, spacious, and welcoming environment for pets of all sizes. We have a fully fenced yard where dogs can run, explore, and burn off energy with peace of mind. I also share my home with a friendly cat, when boarding larger dogs she's completely comfortable keeping to herself upstairs, so there's no stress for either animal. Most importantly, I believe every pet thrives best when their routine stays as close to normal as possible. I'm happy to follow your feeding schedule, walking habits, house rules, or any other preferences you have. Whatever helps your pet feel at home.

About: Hello! I'm Amrit. With years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, senior pets, and small animals, I go beyond basic pet sitting. I provide personalized, loving care tailored to your pet’s unique needs. Plus, I am dog + cat CPR/First Aid certified as well! 🩹 I have experience with senior pet care and keeping up with energetic dogs and cats. Whether your pet needs daily walks, a bath, extra love and attention (or all four!), I strive to create a stress-free experience by following their routine as closely as possible. Having been surrounded by animals my whole life, I truly understand and respect their needs. I assure you your pet will be in caring, capable hands with me! 🐶🐱💕 **NOTE** For daycare and boarding, I typically take 1 pet at a time only. 2 pets at a time are considered if they come from the same parents. As a student with classes 3 times a week (during the school year), and a home that’s always occupied, I have plenty of time to provide attentive, loving care for your pets. My mom is always ready to lend a hand and help out when needed, so your furry friend gets even more care and attention. Whether it’s daily visits, walks, or overnight stays, your furry friends will always be in good hands! *NOTE* I do this part-time; other bookings and personal commitments may result in limited availability. My Home: A secure fenced yard, a scenic trail right outside for daily walks, and two nearby dog parks for social pups! 🏡 Safety and trust always come first for me, so in-person meet-and-greets are mandatory before confirming any booking! Virtual meets are also offered under certain circumstances. I ask a list of important questions during screening to make sure your pet and my space are a great match. This helps pets feel comfortable early on and lets me better understand their personality, routine, and care style. It makes the whole experience smoother, safer, and way more fun for everyone! Certified in Dog & Cat First Aid, I provide attentive and responsible care, ensuring your pet is always in good hands. I’m happy to accommodate any special needs. Every pet deserves personalized love and care! First-aid Skills & Capabilities ✅: - Oral medication administration - Monitor basic vitals (breathing and heart rate) - Do quick ABC wellness checks (airway, breathing, circulation) - CPR and anti-choking steps - Support first-aid care (wound cleaning, bandaging, + minor bleeding control) - Adjust to special needs *Please note I am not comfortable administering injected medications (insulin, NSAIDS, arthritis meds, etc.) due to lack of hands-on experience* Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Whether in my home or yours, I strive to replicate their routine to keep them happy and stress-free 😊

About: ONLY 1 fur friend each time. Pets are families. They deserve love and care. My mom had a cat, we play, eat, sleep together. He taught me how to enjoy life no matter what you have experienced or experiencing. My friend had a dog, I always go visit. We played and went out for walks often. Thank you so much for picking me and share your cute family with me. I only accept 1 fur friend or 2 from the same family each time so I can put all my attention on him/her. Loves hiking when weather permits,5km min. For 🐶 will provide daily walking data so you know how long we walked and how much energy we burned. We will go out for a walk in the morning time, lunch time and dinner time. More short 15-20 potty breaks in between as well. 3 times of walking of 30 min would be by default. On weekends will go hiking with 5km min. I lived in a pet friendly condo and the neighborhood is very quiet to take a walk. There are two community parks nearby to visit. When walking in the neighborhood and condo, will always meet at least 1 or 2 pet friend.

About: My journey started as a shelter/foster volunteer, caring for cats before I had one of my own — from playful kittens to senior cats who need a slower pace and extra patience. I've been a cat mom for 5+ years — including relocating internationally with my cat — and I've provided dedicated cat care through TrustedHousesitters. My specialty is cats: reading their body language, adjusting to each personality and life stage, and keeping their routine calm and consistent while you're away. I'm also comfortable and experienced with dogs, having grown up around my grandma's dogs of different sizes and temperaments — happy to offer reliable, attentive walks alongside my cat services. I work from home, so your cat gets real company and supervision throughout the day — not a rushed morning/evening visit. Flexible timing for feeding, play, and check-ins, or quiet companionship if that's what your cat prefers. Spacious, clean, quiet townhouse — calm and pet-safe. Boarding cats get their own private room with 24/7 camera monitoring, equipped with cat tree and toys, a window view, and zero contact with other animals. No resident pets sharing the space. 🚑 Emergency plan: If anything seems off, I contact you immediately. If we can't reach each other right away, I'll bring your cat straight to your designated vet — or the nearest emergency vet clinic if it's after-hours. I'm happy to sign a vet authorization form at booking so I can act fast if needed.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Markham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 83% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
