“We appreciate the care and patience Katelyn & Kyle had for our puppy Charlie. Caring for a puppy is no easy task. But Charlie seemed very happy to have hung out with them and their family for the day. In fact, he was still tired the next day, which we thought was very amusing. Thank you Katelyn & Kyle. We are so happy to know Charlie is welcomed and cared for in your home. Shirley & Shawn”

“Caroline is a lovely woman with a beautiful home and a wonderful dog. She is the dream dog sitter and if she was available all the time, I would definitely leave my precious baby with her everyday. I know that Jasper is well taken care of.”

“Angel and Ken did a wonderful job taking care of my dog Dorca while I was at work. Drop off and pickup were nice and easy and they kept me updated with pictures. Dorca was excited about the recent snow and has been more active than usual, however Angel and Ken must have played with him quite a bit because I picked up a tired and happy dog at the end of the day. I hope to leave Dorca with them again in the future.”

“Thank you for taking such good care of Toby! You were wonderful with him and kept me updated. We felt comfortable leaving him in your care and would definitely book again. 😊”

“Liz was fantastic. We got pictures throughout the day and prompt responses any time we checked in. Our pup loved her too and was always excited to see Liz in the morning when we dropped her off!”

“I can't tell you how happy I am with Daniels service, he is kind and polite and very caring. He has been great with communicating and also accommodating my business schedule. I recommend Daniel for anyone that is looking for a sitter!”
“I was very comfortable leaving Zack with Rie. She sent lots of updates (and great photos!) about him and tired him out with hikes. I know he would be very happy to stay with her again.”

“My Diego (Goldendoodle, 10 months old, standard size, 60 lbs, full of energy) stayed with Patricia on May 24th. Diego must had a great time cause he came back exhausted!! Which we then had an early peaceful and relaxing evening. I'm also glad that Patricia has another pet, since Diego doesn't get enough socializing! Will definitely use Patricia's service again!!”

About: I am a warm, dog-loving mom in Toronto’s Upper Beaches who recently said goodbye to my beloved 13 year old King Charles Cavalier. While I'm not ready to adopt again just yet, I deeply miss having two dogs in our home and would love to care for yours as part of our family. I work from home full-time, so your dog will have consistent supervision, companionship, and lots of affection throughout the day. Yes, I am part of "those people" that treat pets like family. I will send you daily videos and photos of your dog so you can see how they're doing, what they're up to, and how well cared for they are. I promise to treat your dog like my own! I currently have a friendly and social 4 year old little female Cavalier/Cocker Spaniel who is missing her best buddy. She loves company and welcomes new dogs into her home with a wagging tail and a sweet personality. She knows how to share her space well and enjoys having other dogs around. I work from home full-time so I have plenty of flexibility for walks, affection, care, and attention--weekdays and weekends. I grew up with pets all my life and recently cared for my senior dog who required extra support, a gentle touch, and regular medication. I am comfortable administering oral medication, caring for senior dogs, and providing gentle and slower routines when needed. I understand that every dog has their own rhythm and personality and I want to make them feel as comfortable and loved as possible, no matter their age or complexity. I live in a semi-detached home with a fenced in backyard and peaceful sidewalks and nearby parks for relaxed walks in a quiet, family and dog-friendly neighborhood. I am in a non-smoking household and have a friendly dog of our own to keep yours company. Dogs are welcome on furniture and can sleep in our room (and even on our bed) if that’s what they’re used to. We just aim to provide a low-stress, cozy, and safe environment where your dog can feel as close to being at home as possible.
“Gabrielle took such great care of Negi while we were away! She gave him so much attention and love, and it made such a difference knowing he was being cared for so thoughtfully. I also loved that her family was home and spent time playing with him too! I’d absolutely trust Gabrielle with Negi again and highly recommend her ☺️”

“My dog Laon loves going to Trinnie's place - he was so excited to see her and seems like he had a great day ! Trinnie has been one of my go-to sitters in downtown area and she is so pleasant and amazing to work with !! I recommend her 10/10 for anyone who is looking for a pet sitter !!!”

“Janis welcomed my dog for last minute doggy day care, and he had a great experience! It’s clear that my dog, and the other dogs that were in her care that day, absolutely love her. She has a quiet, comfortable home and a nice yard - any dog would be lucky to stay with her. Thank you, Janis! Mac hopes to see you again soon!”

Jennifer was so accommodating and gracious for hosting our little boi! He was in very good spirits when we initially met and when we took him home. She provided us updates and photos and we really appreciated it. Thank you so much for taking good care of Mini Cooper for us ☺️

We boarded our dog through Rover and had a wonderful experience! Our sitter took him for regular walks and sent us frequent updates throughout his stay. The best part? He wasn’t homesick at all — which tells us he was in great hands and felt right at home. Highly recommend!

Having Delia as our petsitter was great. She sent constant updates such as videos/photos and told us how they were doing. Knowing that our dogs were in good hands really put at us at ease, especially it was our first time using the Rover app. Not only that, but she is very friendly, patient, and kind! Overall, I can tell she truly cares for the dogs and just animals in general. Would 100% book again!

My dog Taro had another great visit with Amy! He is snoring away on the couch right now to show he had a fun filled day! Amy is a great sitter and highly recommended. Throughout the day, she provided updates and many pics to ensure Taro is having the best time! Can't wait to book again 🥰

We had a great experience with Yuxi Z. looking after our dog for a few hours. She was kind, attentive, and clearly comfortable with dogs. Our dog was happy and relaxed when we returned, which says it all. Communication was excellent, and we really appreciated the care and attention she gave during the visit. We’d happily book again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.
Xinting and Xinyuan were the first day-care service I have used on Rover. They went above and beyond to make sure Lucy was taken care of, including multiple walks throughout the day, and regular updates with photos and videos. Their place is very neat and tidy, and Lucy made herself right at home. I will definitely be contacting them again in the future.

Satheeskumar took amazing care of our dog Mushu during his day care stay. He’s very friendly, clearly loves dogs, and made Mushu feel right at home. They were kind and accommodating with our late drop-off and pick-up since we were driving from far away. Wonderful pet stay — highly recommend! Mushu came back happy, tired, and well cared for.

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Scarborough commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
