“Thank you Alexa & Andrew for looking after our girl! Our pup Lilou had a wonderful time with them and Bruno 🐶. They were responsive, had excellent communication during lilou’s stay and kept us updated with messages and photos throughout the day. Their space was beautiful, clean and spacious and I could tell lilou was extremely comfortable and happy throughout her stay. Great people - they were outgoing, inquisitive to make they had all the info needed to care for our dog, and graceful even though lilou had a few accidents in the house. Highly recommend!”

“Stephen and Vanessa, Thank you so much for taking such good care of Jasper. He looked happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we picked him up. We really appreciated the updates and the love you gave him. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We would definitely love to book with you again! :)”

“Po had a great time at Francine's! She was accommodating and responsive to messages. Po is usually wary of strangers at first, but he didn't bark at her (a bonus!) and was good with her. Her dog was super helpful at welcoming Po and making him less nervous.”

“Lori has been taking care of my 7 month old Cane Corso/Presa and treats her like she’s her own !!! Couldn’t say enough about how attentive and amazing she is with her. My pup waits every morning at the door so she can see Lori. Thank you for loving her like we do !!! 💜💜💜”

“Leanne was great and made us feel very comfortable leaving our dog Molly with her. Leanne gave us regular updates and photos to let us know Molly was doing well. Molly came home happy and tired after playing with the other dogs. Would definitely recommend Leanne and we will be using her again for daycare soon.”

“Rosco and Romeo had a wonderful time. Xintian was very courteous and even accommodated our last minute request for pet drop off due to some changes in our plans. Highly recommend and will definitely use again! She sent us photo updates on the dogs as well which was really comforting.”

“We can’t rave enough about Jeff. As new puppy parents, we were so anxious about leaving our 4-month-old puppy, Cheddar, but Jeff immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease. Every time we drop Cheddar off, he is so excited to see Jeff and his family — which says everything! Jeff has been caring for Cheddar through Rover, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. He is kind, reliable, and genuinely cares about the dogs he looks after. He took the time to understand Cheddar’s personality, helped him feel comfortable, and kept us updated throughout his stays. It’s clear that Jeff treats every dog like his own, and we feel completely confident knowing Cheddar is in his care. We cannot recommend Jeff enough and will definitely be booking with him for a long time to come!”

“Mousumi took good care of our 10 weeks old Maltipoo for a day. She kept us posted about our puppy’s update with videos and pictures. My puppy loved playing with her dog. Will definitely book with her again in future. Thanks Mousumi again.”

“Our experience with Kumudini was excellent! She took such great care of our 6 yo poodle, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoys being with dogs. Our dog is usually quite anxious when we leave him, but with her, he seemed incredibly comfortable and at ease. We’re so grateful for her kindness and attentiveness, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care Sollin provided for Lucky during daycare. Lucky is usually pretty particular, but he felt comfortable right away and had a great time. It was clear he was in good hands. He came home relaxed, happy, and well cared for. I also really appreciated the quick communication and prompt updates. I’d absolutely trust them again!”

“Winnie is great! We just started sending out cockapoo puppy Bayley to her and he’s so happy to see her and loves his time with her. She takes great care of her and we really appreciate all she does for bayley. I couldn’t recommend her enough!!!!”

“I had my dog, Mori, spend the day with Joseph and Jessie for daycare, and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It was such a relief to entrust Mori to someone who clearly cares. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive caregiver for their pet!”

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pickering commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
