“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jessie and Joseph. From the very first meeting, it was clear how much they genuinely care for animals. Throughout the time they cared for him, I received regular updates, photos, and little notes about how his day was going. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was not only being well looked after, but also loved and entertained. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and truly passionate about dogs, I highly recommend Jessie and Joseph. They treat your pup like family, and that’s the best gift a pet parent could ask for.”

“We had such a great experience with Kumudini!! She took amazing care of our 9-year-old Morkie, who has severe anxiety, and made sure he felt safe and comfortable the whole time. She kept us constantly updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. He was well-fed, cared for, and protected as if he were her own. Overall, she went above and beyond, and we truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him. Highly recommend!”

“Honeylyn did an amazing job with my fur baby. I left my bichon frise overnight and felt like I never left Cloud at all since she sent me loads of pictures and a video. My Cloud loves her and her beautiful daughters. Will definitely come back and refer to my friends.”

“We are very happy with the loving care provided by Alexa and Andrew to our fur baby Rex. Our pet dog was very well taken care of while we were away for a weekend attending a funeral. Both Alexa and Andrew were amazing with rex and we will gladly use them again and recommend them to anyone. They gave us daily updates with pictures. We really appreciate their service. Thank you Alexa and Andew!”

“Stephen and Vanessa were excellent with our dog Benji and we would absolutely book with them again! They sent daily updates and even looked after him for an extra night at the last minute when our flight was delayed, which we really appreciated. It seemed like Benji had a blast playing with their kids and their dog Chewy. Highly recommend them!”

“Bill and Norma watched Emma and Hannah for several days for us. It was our first time working with them as sitters. I was grateful for their patience and thoughtfulness. Hannah can be challenging, given her conversational tendencies and quirkiness. We dealt mostly with Bill. I noticed he took extra time when Hannah needed more attention. He also realized the differences in both dogs' personalities and worked to kindly manage them as they demonstrated need. I would leave our dogs with them again. They came home quiet, well adjusted and settled right back into our routine.”

“Hayley has taken care of Dawson for multiple overnight stays and he always comes home very happy. For his last stay, she sent me a message of Dawson having some "bathroom" issues and asked if that was normal for him - which it totally was - and asked if there was something she could do to help him. It gives me peace of mind that Hayley was on top of things - especially my pooch's health. Dawson always comes home happy and well rested after his stay at Hayley's. She has been one of my "go-to" boarders for Dawson and I highly recomend her.”

“We could not have asked for a better experience with Susan and Gordon. They were patient and communicative and took amazing care of my pup. We are so appreciative!”

“We left our dog Hunter in Heli’s care for 6 days, as any dog parent, we were worried if he was doing well. Lucky for us Heli updated us everyday with pictures and answered any questions we had very quickly. She is very polite, organized, and truly loves dogs. 100% we will be booking her services again, Hunter looked so happy playing with the other dogs. If you’re reading this, stop searching, book Heli, you will not regret it.”

“Lyle and his family were fantastic with Biggie. Patient, kind and sending us frequent photos and updates while in their care. We really appreciate you as this is the first time we’ve left him alone this long. He is happy and healthy! I would absolutely recommend Lyle.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Pickering
We are very happy with the loving care provided by Alexa and Andrew to our fur baby Rex. Our pet dog was very well taken care of while we were away for a weekend attending a funeral. Both Alexa and Andrew were amazing with rex and we will gladly use them again and recommend them to anyone. They gave us daily updates with pictures. We really appreciate their service. Thank you Alexa and Andew!

Andrew and Alexa went beyond and above taking care of Charlie. Our baby is very challenging due to past experiences and high energy level that Charlie needs effective and efficient strategies to make his day fun and not boring. Alexa and Andrew did incredible care for our baby that when he gets home after our 6-days vacation, Charlie became calm and compliant with directions during walks and when playing indoors. In my own perspective, their passion and discipline strategies with dogs will make them qualified dog trainers. If there is an award for best dog caretakers, I will vote for them. Now, we can book our vacation without worrying who will take care of Charlie. Thank you Alexa and Andrew for the excellent service.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
