“This was my first time using Rover, and I was honestly very nervous about leaving my cats in someone else's care. But Danya was absolutely wonderful and made the whole experience so reassuring! She took amazing care of our cats—spending time with them, keeping their routine, and sending regular updates and photos that really helped put my mind at ease. The updates were so detailed and my family and I looked forward to every one of them! The pictures she sent were the best! It was clear from the start that she genuinely cares about animals and treats them with so much kindness and attention. I’m so grateful to have found Danya and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“I am so happy we found Jahzara ! I am an anxious millennial and worry 24/7 about our cats. From the first moment she was the loveliest, kindest, and most understanding of our cats' individual personalities. I will absolutely ask her to take care of them again. Thank you for all you did”

About: With 15+ years of experience caring for cats, I understand their behavior, boundaries, and individual personalities. I’m patient with shy or anxious cats and attentive to those who need more engagement and play. I’m comfortable administering medications, maintaining spotless litter boxes, and ensuring a clean, low-stress environment. My science background helps me recognize subtle changes in behavior or health, so I can respond early if something seems off. I focus on calm, respectful care—earning your cat’s trust while keeping them comfortable, clean, and well-cared for in your absence. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I’m available nearly full-time—including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings. I structure my schedule around the pets in my care, ensuring they receive consistent attention, timely feeding, play, and any required medications. Because I maintain a flexible schedule, I can accommodate last-minute bookings, extended stays, and visits at times that best suit your pet’s routine—keeping their environment stable and stress-free. I prioritize a calm, clean, and secure environment tailored to each pet’s needs. In a client’s home, I follow your routine closely—feeding schedules, medication, litter or enclosure maintenance, and preferred play styles—to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free. I’m attentive to safety details like secure doors, hazard-free spaces, and proper handling during feeding or medication. I also respect boundaries, especially for shy or rescue animals, and never force interaction. With my experience and science background, I stay alert to subtle behavioral or health changes and act promptly if anything seems off. My goal is to provide consistent, reliable care so your pet feels safe and your home is respected while you’re away.
“Thank you Xuefeng for taking great care of our two cats! All instructions were followed and we received some pictures while we were away. Even our really shy cat came out to see her and was comfortable enough for pets. We would highly recommend Xuefeng to take care of your cats!”

“The care that Alex has shown for my new pup has made me feel confident in leaving her in Alex’s capable hands. Alex is very communicative and accommodating and the detailed reports from her visits that she provides is much appreciated. Thank you Alex for making me feel so comfortable!”

About: Animals are my absolute passion and I live my life very much in mind of animal welfare. As a testament, I have been a vegetarian for many years now and it's a joy to be able to care for and spend time with animals. Most people would define me as a compassionate and dedicated animal lover. It would be my dream to make it my work. I really enjoy being out with the dogs and I tend to give them a lot of attention and always have safety and enrichment in mind. In the past I would go on "Meetup" dog walking hikes, even though I do not own one, just because it makes hiking that much better! I have volunteered and been trained at several animal shelters over the years including the Toronto Humane Society where I would walk a range of dogs, everything from aggressive, blind, physically disabled, friendly and various types of breeds. I also grew up with a family pet for 14 years in addition to dog walking for countless family members, friends and neighbours. In addition to caring for dogs , I was fostering cats for about 8 years. I have adopted out and fostered about 30 cats over that time (one or two at a time), helping them to become accustomed to home life and trustful of humans. Therefore, I can tend to any cats or other pets at your home. Look forward to meeting your fur "baby"! When I am dog or cat sitting your pet would be my number one priority. For dogs I often do one big walk/adventure a day and regular local walks or bathroom breaks for the remaining of the day. Safety is always my number one concern for the animal. With new dogs I'm always cautious around other animals, do not go to off leash dog parks and I keep them leashed up. I currently only do house sitting so the animals are usually comfortable in their environment and they make sure they have plenty of water and food.
“Cassandra took very good care of pearl for the 18 days we were away. Pearl got comfortable with her and seemed to enjoy her visits a lot. I would definitely want to rebook with Cassandra anytime in the future. Thanks a lot Cassandra!”

“Shenley took great care of the pets while we are away. Her photos made it clear that the pets loved her and were happy to see her. I will definitely hire Shenley again if we go on a short trip!”

About: i’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since i was 10! i would feed them, walk them and play with them! i just love it! I’m currently unemployed .. so i’m available during the days and available during most nights, Sometimes i’m spending time with family or watching my nephews and Niece! I would care for pet in clients home. I would play with them, walk them/ let them out when needed and play ball if allowed by owner
“We met Claudia and Ken the other day during our initial meet and greet and Sammy our dog obviously felt comfortable with them. Claudia took him for a walk today and he had a great time. We just adopted Sammy a few weeks ago, so we are still getting to know him and how he reacts to other people and other dogs. He trotted off with Claudia without a backward glance at me today, so that reassures me that he is happy to be with her. We will definitely be booking with her again!”
“Sydney is fantastic, responsible and excellent with my German shepherd. My dog loves her and looks forward to seeing her ! Great communication and reliability. Thank you Sydney - highly recommend”

About: ONLY 1 fur friend each time. Pets are families. They deserve love and care. My mom had a cat, we play, eat, sleep together. He taught me how to enjoy life no matter what you have experienced or experiencing. My friend had a dog, I always go visit. We played and went out for walks often. Thank you so much for picking me and share your cute family with me. I only accept 1 fur friend or 2 from the same family each time so I can put all my attention on him/her. Loves hiking when weather permits,5km min. For 🐶 will provide daily walking data so you know how long we walked and how much energy we burned. We will go out for a walk in the morning time, lunch time and dinner time. More short 15-20 potty breaks in between as well. 3 times of walking of 30 min would be by default. On weekends will go hiking with 5km min. I lived in a pet friendly condo and the neighborhood is very quiet to take a walk. There are two community parks nearby to visit. When walking in the neighborhood and condo, will always meet at least 1 or 2 pet friend.
About: I spent 12 years caring for my family cat and learned how to keep pets safe, calm, and happy. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to excellent care. I work full‑time, but I’m available for pet care from Thursday to Saturday and can accept same‑day bookings. On Wednesdays, I’m available after 6 PM. If voluntary time off is available at 3 PM, I can leave work then and arrive shortly after if a client needs care on Wednesday. My dad is allergic, so dogs can’t enter my home. I provide outdoor care with full supervision, using my fenced backyard and dog‑friendly indoor break spots.
About: I have 2 cats and i take care and play with them every day. Take them to vets as needed. They are my happiness. I have pet sitted my friends cat when they are away. Honestly doing this just for pure joy not money. Part time on evenings or weekends . mostly interested in drop ins for checking the pets food , litter , water. Also can play with them or take for walks . My cats consider it as they are the owners of the house 😀 i have litter boxes, auto food and water set up for them as well I generally go and check food, water and litter box. For cats, I know it’s tough to get familar. So that’s fine. I will take my time to play with them. Patience is the key
“Yee Yan did an amazing job taking care of my cat! She’s super detailed and genuinely concerned about every little thing. With her vet tech background, I know my cat’s in good hands. I’ll definitely rebook her next time.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
