“We've trusted Scott with Otis multiple times, sometimes for a day, sometimes for a longer stay. He's fantastic, and our dog always comes home happy and tired from all the wonderful long walks. Thank you, Scott!”

“Naira and her husband are such sweethearts. I couldn't ask for better sitters than them. Ash felt at home with them and they kept updating me with pictures of him throughout the day. I would use their services again and recommend them.”

“We left our little Morgan with Anna for the day and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept us updated with pictures throughout the day, handled all the walks, and clearly gave Morgan all the attention he deserved. It’s obvious she genuinely loves animals. We came back to one very happy pup! We highly recommend Anna as she is our go-to pet sitter!”

“Our small chihuahua is very hesitant to stay with others however Monica went the extra mile to make him feel comfortable. She was able to accommodate our schedule despite last minute changes and made the booking and stay seamless. We received messages, pictures and a video throughout the day to reassure us he was well taken care of. We will definitely recommend!”

About: I've had pets all my life, I love them as part of my family! At the moment me and the kiddos have 2 dogs and a puppy, all rescues, that we love! I am currently working part time and my schedule is flexible. Im available before or after work or anytime nights, on my days off or weekends! I have a genuine love for pets (have 2 cats and a puppy myself) so I know how important it is to have peace of mind and that they are taken care of when we are away. Will try my very best
“Roxy and Hunter were wonderful hosts! I received lots of adorable photos throughout Foxy’s stay! Roxy’s punctuality was greatly appreciated! Would highly recommend Roxy to take amazing care of your fur baby!”

It was clear that Perseus had a great time—he came home happy and tired from all the fun! We’ll definitely be using his services again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.”
“Chrissy took excellent care of our dog Roo! He can be quite nervous with new sitters but Chrissy made sure to spend extra time helping him settle and get comfortable in her space. Chrissy sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day to let us know how Roo was doing. We would definitely recommend Chrissy to anyone looking for a dog sitter ?❤️?”

“Fantastic. Guys, thank you so much! My boy had a lovely day out and came back tired, but happy and really at peace. They know how to look after your baby and everything, right from the location to the facilities make it ideal. I was also a bit of a pain as I was late in coming back (sorry guys) but they were very accommodating. Again, thanks guys!! Look forward to many more…”

“Radhika did a wonderful job taking care of my 4 month old puppy, Bear, who had never spent a full day with a sitter before. I was so pleased to get regular updates and photos chronicling Bear’s day with Radhika and her dog, Coco. I really felt like my pup was being well taken care of. I would recommend Radhika if you’re looking for dog care services. ☺️”

About: I have had dogs sinced 2010. Currently we have a 15 year old husky who is still quite playful outside but spends most of the day sleeping due to advanced age. We are used to frequent walks and don't mind loud singers 😁 I have Sundays and Mondays off and my husband only works part-time from home so someone is home most of the time and we are pretty flexible. I have a fenced backyard, a human- and dog-friendly Husky to keep your fur baby company. I can crate your dog if you prefer. We have a home where they will be comfortable. We can send you pictures daily so you know your baby is safe.
About: I have grown up with dogs and have cared for my own pets as well as dogs from friends and neighbors. I provide feeding, daily walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I follow each dog’s routine closely to keep them comfortable and happy, and I focus on creating a calm, safe, and enjoyable environment. I work part-time from home, so I have plenty of time to care for pets throughout the day. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and my flexible schedule allows me to provide walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship with ease. I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment that is fully suitable for pet care, with proper ventilation to ensure a healthy environment. Pets have a secure area to relax safely, and I ensure they are always well supervised and cared for. There’s also a nearby park for walks and outdoor play. I follow each pet’s routine closely to keep them comfortable, happy, and stress-free while in my care.
About: There is nothing more purposeful than spending one’s effort with a friend, a real friend. I’ve been a human for any dog that needs a human since I was 7 (even though mom approved my love for friends-dogs, much later) I’m a human to Kourage (my golden retriever) who loves to play ball and say hi to every dog or human he sees. I’m working from home so will always have an eye on our babies, in addition Kourage’s routine is scheduled, so walks, poops, pees and food is on time. Weekends I’m available all throughout. I have a well setup place for Kourage (my golden retriever) that can accomodate your baby easily and with comfort. Kourage is good company and there are plenty dog parks near us (both off-leash and leashed). So be assured that your baby would be well taken care of.
“Rita is Amazing !!! I had a last minute request to do a booking for my fur babies for day care and she was responded very quickly and accepted. I got regular updates with photos and videos and that really put my mind at ease while I had to step away for an all day work event . My shitzu and cockapoo puppy both came back happy like they had a good time. She’ll definitely be my go to going forward when I have to arrange care for my dogs.”

“Cristina is amazing with our dog. She has completely gained our dogs trust, and our dog is totally relaxed around her. Today our dog had a little bath to get cleaned up after a long walk in the rain. We will be using Cristina again. I love all the updates and loving bond she has with our dog.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Etobicoke
This is the third time we've trusted her with Polo, and once again she went above and beyond. This time was especially difficult because Polo is currently injured and waiting for surgery, so he needed extra attention, comfort, and a lot of patience. She took amazing care of him, kept him calm, made sure he rested, and gave him so much love. She even sat with him and comforted him when he was uncomfortable. Knowing he was in such caring hands gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful time. We are incredibly grateful for everything she does for Polo. He absolutely loves staying with her, and we couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you so much for treating him like family! ❤️

Alessia and her partner took great care of my dog and gave updates throughout the day. Snickers seemed really comfortable and happy with them. I was also late picking him up, and Alessia was very understanding and patient about it, which I really appreciated. Overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely trust them to watch Snickers again. Thanks again for taking such good care of him!

We’ve had a few visits with Cindy and Michael and Goose always comes home happy and totally wiped out. Cindy sends updates and pictures throughout the day, which we really appreciate, and Goose loves having Jack to hang out with while he’s there. We’re so glad we found them and are looking forward to many more visits!

I can’t recommend Naomi enough! She looked after my dog Rexx during my work trip to Toronto and went above and beyond in every way. She was so flexible with my unpredictable schedule, which gave me so much peace of mind. What really impressed me was how well she educated herself on Rexx’s routine and specific needs—she truly cared about making sure he felt comfortable and happy. Throughout the day, I received thoughtful updates and photos, which made me feel like I was right there with him. To top it off, Rexx and her dog Kratos became the best of friends—it was the sweetest thing to see! If you’re looking for someone who is responsible, reliable, and genuinely loves animals, Naomi is the absolute best. Rexx and I will definitely be booking with her again!

Czarina and her family have been amazing with my boy Chevy. This has truly been the best experience I have had with someone looking after my pup. Chevy loves going there and you can see the love, care and attention that Chevy gets back. If I could give more the 5 Stars I would.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Etobicoke commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
