“This is the third time we've trusted her with Polo, and once again she went above and beyond. This time was especially difficult because Polo is currently injured and waiting for surgery, so he needed extra attention, comfort, and a lot of patience. She took amazing care of him, kept him calm, made sure he rested, and gave him so much love. She even sat with him and comforted him when he was uncomfortable. Knowing he was in such caring hands gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful time. We are incredibly grateful for everything she does for Polo. He absolutely loves staying with her, and we couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you so much for treating him like family! ❤️”

“We've trusted Scott with Otis multiple times, sometimes for a day, sometimes for a longer stay. He's fantastic, and our dog always comes home happy and tired from all the wonderful long walks. Thank you, Scott!”

“Nairy was wonderful with Frankie, my first time using Rover I was a little nervous, after meeting Nairy we felt comfortable and didn’t have to worry about a thing knowing Nairy was taking care of Frankie. Nairy went above and beyond, Frankie didn’t eat and Nairy made her supper and took her out and cuddled Frankie all while sending updates with pictures and making us feel assured our fur baby was in good hands. We highly recommend Nairy especially with all her care/time she spends with dogs. We will be using Nairy again and we highly recommend you do too!”

“Naomi is really great with our dog Buzz! Our Buzz gets a little reactive when meeting new people but he instantly hit it off with Naomi! A testament to her patience and love for our Buzzy!!!”

“Roxy and hunter were amazing with Tito. Hunter kept Tito busy while Roxy kept us updated on how happy and settled Tito was every 3-4 hours. She was also very accommodative of my updated schedule as well. Thanks to her we could spend our day worry free. I would definitely recommend her for everyone.”

“Anna is our go-to sitter, Morgan loves her and loves hey always have a good time. She shares constant updates and keep us in the loop about Morgan routine. Couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“Nicole is amazing with our mini golden doodle Cody. We have used her dog sitting service 3 times so far and Cody now runs up the stairs to her home! Knowing your pup is happy and in caring and knowledgeable hands is such a load off your mind. We will definitely continue to go to Nicole - 5 stars!”

“My dog Toby had a great experience with Monica. She responded to me quickly and accommodated all the times. She also kept me updated and sent me photos. I really liked that she took Toby slowly to backyard first and slowly introduce him to the other dogs. He came back excited and now sleeping deeply. He must’ve had a great time there. I’ll be sending him back again soon.”

About: We are at pet-loving family, with a large fenced in yard and flexible work-from home schedules, ready to help you with your dog boarding needs. We have two senior cats (who keep to themselves) and a rescue pup Finn who is almost 3! As a husband-and-wife team, we have both had pets our entire lives, and have been caring for our own pets together for over 12 years. We also have Red Cross Pet First Aid certification. Dogs who come to stay with us will have freedom to roam our house if it suits them, or they can use our crate. We go on several walks a day and have a large fenced yard for play. We also provide pet treats (if allowed). If we are coming to your house to provide cat visits and care, we will scoop the litter, freshen water and food, and play with your feline friend. If your cat likes to be brushed, we will also do that. Ask us any questions you need, or even come by our home to check us out before committing. Coffee (and maybe a cookie) included. We are a husband and wife team who both have flexible work-from-home schedules (and both of our offices are a short drive away). We love out pets, we're active and love going for walks, and our beautiful large fenced yard is a dog's dream. In our home, we welcome client's dogs to wander freely, unless our client has a crate routine. We do have a large crate that our guests are welcome to use while here. We walk our own dog 3-4 times a day, and also have several free-run sessions in our fenced yard with plenty of toys. NIght times, we wind down with some TV and lots of pets and cuddles before letting our dog and our guests settle where they feel comfortable (even if it's our bed). We have two mature teenage daughters who are a great help as well.
“Fantastic. Guys, thank you so much! My boy had a lovely day out and came back tired, but happy and really at peace. They know how to look after your baby and everything, right from the location to the facilities make it ideal. I was also a bit of a pain as I was late in coming back (sorry guys) but they were very accommodating. Again, thanks guys!! Look forward to many more…”

About: I love all animals, especially dogs. As a child growing up, I have always had dogs, birds, cats, ginuea pigs and rabbits. I also have experience volunteering at shelters and doing a bit of stray dog rescue in New York and Jamaica I am home for most days of the month, when I go out it's for leisure or exercise. This current lifestyle provides me with a lot of time to dedicate to pet care including walk, socialisation of the pet and providing pet parents with updates. I will ensure the pet is comfortable with no loud noises and the AC/Heat at comfortable temperatures at all times. The apartment is also spacious so there is no need for the pet to feel cramped. Also the living room has floor to ceiling windows for pets who love to look outside and to lay in the sun coming through the glass. There are multiple parks next door and enough space for the dog to walk comfortably. Kindly ensure the pet has any required clothing, shoes or toys that will make its stay even more comfortable
“Amanda and her daughter looked after my 8 month old whippet for most the day. I got regular pictures and updates and my pup had a lovely time with their dog Peaches. Communication was fast and detailed. We will be back for more doggy day care!”

“Chrissy took excellent care of our dog Roo! He can be quite nervous with new sitters but Chrissy made sure to spend extra time helping him settle and get comfortable in her space. Chrissy sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day to let us know how Roo was doing. We would definitely recommend Chrissy to anyone looking for a dog sitter ?❤️?”

We’ve trusted them with Haku multiple times now, and they’ve always taken such good care of her. You can really tell they care about the dogs they look after, and Haku is always happy and comfortable when she’s with them. One of the biggest signs for us is that she actually gets excited to stay with them, which gives us so much peace of mind. We’re really grateful to have found someone we can trust and will definitely keep booking with them. ❤️🐾

This is the third time we've trusted her with Polo, and once again she went above and beyond. ❤️

Alessia and her partner took great care of my dog and gave updates throughout the day. Snickers seemed really comfortable and happy with them. I was also late picking him up, and Alessia was very understanding and patient about it, which I really appreciated. Overall it was a great experience and I’d definitely trust them to watch Snickers again. Thanks again for taking such good care of him!

We’ve had a few visits with Cindy and Michael and Goose always comes home happy and totally wiped out. Cindy sends updates and pictures throughout the day, which we really appreciate, and Goose loves having Jack to hang out with while he’s there. We’re so glad we found them and are looking forward to many more visits!

I can’t recommend Naomi enough! She looked after my dog Rexx during my work trip to Toronto and went above and beyond in every way. She was so flexible with my unpredictable schedule, which gave me so much peace of mind. What really impressed me was how well she educated herself on Rexx’s routine and specific needs—she truly cared about making sure he felt comfortable and happy. Throughout the day, I received thoughtful updates and photos, which made me feel like I was right there with him. To top it off, Rexx and her dog Kratos became the best of friends—it was the sweetest thing to see! If you’re looking for someone who is responsible, reliable, and genuinely loves animals, Naomi is the absolute best. Rexx and I will definitely be booking with her again!

Czarina and her family have been amazing with my boy Chevy. This has truly been the best experience I have had with someone looking after my pup. Chevy loves going there and you can see the love, care and attention that Chevy gets back. If I could give more the 5 Stars I would.

Rita is Amazing !!! I had a last minute request to do a booking for my fur babies for day care and she was responded very quickly and accepted. I got regular updates with photos and videos and that really put my mind at ease while I had to step away for an all day work event . My shitzu and cockapoo puppy both came back happy like they had a good time. She’ll definitely be my go to going forward when I have to arrange care for my dogs.

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Etobicoke commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
