“My dog didn’t really want to come back. He was sad for a good amount of time after coming back home 😂 He loved the play time with Baltej! Thank you, Baltej for such an early morning accommodation.”

About: I have owned a cat previously (he passed away 😔) and I have also been dog sitting my neighbour’s dog for almost a year now (sept 2026 onwards) I am a full time graduate student, working part time and living with my dad. Most of my classes are online and i’m home most days except when I work 4-8pm. I can take the pets outside morning and evening for a walk and bathroom breaks during the day when I’m home. My dad helps out as he works from home and is always at home with the pets when I am not, they are never left by themselves. I live in a condo, ideal for cats and small/medium dogs! I’m okay with the dogs using my balcony to pee if it’s ever too cold outside, and I will always care for your pets as if they were my own 💗
“Noel and his family were amazing. So warm and caring, I felt so comfortable while being away for the weekend! They were so easy to communicate with and open to meeting to get acquainted before the visit. I would love to have them watch our pup anytime!!”

“So kind and helpful with fozzy! He had a wonderful day and would definitely recommend others to go here! Gouri and Arita were flexible and understanding, and sent regular updates. You can tell they really enjoy being with the doggies and treat them like royalty!”

About: I've been caring for dogs for 15 years and understand that every pet has entirely unique needs. Through raising my dog, Himu, I've mastered the ins and outs of dedicated daily care, from potty training and grooming routines to managing specialized requirements like doggie diapers. I am even experienced in coordinating high-stress logistics like international pet relocation. You can trust that your furry best friend will be in highly capable, experienced, and loving hands while you are away. I have a highly flexible schedule as I am not currently working. I will be home full-time, meaning your dog will have constant companionship and supervision. Because I will be always around, we can easily accommodate frequent potty breaks, lots of playtime, and any specific feeding or medication schedules your pet needs. Whether hosting a pet in our home or visiting yours, safety and trust are at the core of everything we do. At our home, your dog gets 24/7 supervision because I am home full-time. We keep a calm, pet-friendly environment backed by security cameras for extra safety. When visiting your home, I strictly adhere to your pet's specific care instructions, secure the home during every visit, and maintain a highly alert and defensive approach during outdoor walks to ensure your pet is completely protected.
“Winnie was great with Bella—kind, calm, and incredibly dependable. She clearly has a natural way with dogs and made sure Bella felt safe and cared for throughout her stay. I really appreciated the updates and her thoughtful approach.”

“We had a wonderful experience with An In C. She was attentive, friendly and very understanding of our travel situation. My dog really enjoyed her yard and I enjoyed the many lovely photos. Will definitely book with An In again in the future!”

About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and other pets, and have experience fostering a poodle. I currently have a shy cat, which has taught me patience and how to help animals feel safe and comfortable. I work in social services and have several work-from-home days, allowing me to provide attentive, reliable care throughout the day. My 13-year-old daughter is also a responsible animal lover who enjoys giving pets extra playtime and affection. Whether your pet is young, senior, energetic, or shy, I’ll treat them like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️ Pet care fits easily into my routine because I work from home several days each week, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I’m also available on weekends, making it easy to accommodate a variety of pet care needs and schedules. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I enjoy making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved. We have a spacious, pet-friendly apartment with a balcony for fresh air, a dog area on our building’s terrace, plenty of nearby walking routes, and a lake close by for enjoyable walks and outdoor time. ☺️💗🐾
About: I’m basically a pet’s vacation. 🐶🐱 Walks? Done. Snacks? Always. Belly rubs? Non-stop. I talk to animals like we’re in a secret club because we are. Picky eaters, needy babies, zoomies at 2 AM? I’ve seen it all and I still show up with a smile (and treats). Your pet will miss you… but not too much. 😎 Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with those babies. I keep my schedule flexible so I can give each pet the attention they deserve, whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, cuddle sessions, or simply keeping them company. My goal is for your pet to think they just had the best staycation Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. I’ll follow your routine as closely as possible—from feeding schedules and medication to favorite toys and bedtime rituals. I pay attention to every little detail, keep a clean and pet-safe environment, and respect each pet’s personality. Whether they’re a social butterfly or an introvert who judges everyone from across the room, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. 🐾

We received many updates throughout her stay which was really nice as it was our first time leaving her in someone else’s care. Katrina is an excellent sitter. She was calm and very attentive… a real natural with our puppy. We will definitely schedule another stay with her.”

“Mylene and her daughter Sam did a great job looking after my frenchie, Fredo, for an overnight stay. They were so accommodating of my schedule and allowed 2 visits before the actual booking to make sure Fredo is comfortable to the new place. Everything worked out and I could not be more grateful. Will use their services again in the future and highly recommended for others.”

About: With over 11 years of experience in the animal field, I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to the care of your pets. I’ve worked in a variety of roles that have shaped my passion for animal care, starting at a dog daycare where I honed my skills in pet behavior and daily care. I then expanded my experience working in the surgery department of an emergency vet clinic, assisting with urgent procedures and offering critical care to animals in need. Additionally, I’ve worked with both the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto Animal Services, gaining valuable insight into animal welfare, public safety, and shelter management. Now, I run my own dog boarding and sitting business, where I offer personalized care in a safe and loving environment for every pet. I’m also certified in canine CPR and First Aid to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog at all times. Currently, I’m completing a Raw Feeding Nutrition course to further deepen my knowledge, and I’m committed to continuing my education to provide the best care possible for your furry companions. I do dog boarding and dog training 24/7. I am always home to watch your pups and ensure everything is ok and make sure their needs are met I offer a safe, secure environment for your dogs with a fully fenced backyard, where they can play and roam freely. To ensure harmony and avoid any conflicts, I feed all dogs separately. Your pet’s health and safety are my top priorities—I'm certified in First Aid and CPR, and I have a solid understanding of pet health. I believe in open communication, so if anything seems off with your dog, I’ll reach out to you right away to keep you informed. You can rest assured knowing your pup is in good hands.
About: Dogs and cats have been part of my life for 18 years, like family. I raised Labradors from the time they were tiny puppies till they grew old, so I have been through puppy training, house training, and also the slower, more gentle care that older dogs need. I have also lived with a German Shepherd, so bigger and more active dogs do not worry me either. Cats came into my life a little later, and they taught me something different. With cats you cannot force anything, you just have to be patient and let them come to you. My own cat Melody (a) Cookie Brook, is here with us in Canada rescued from Mississauga Animal Shelter, calm and used to people, so your cat will have gentle company too if that is something you would like. Since I am home through the day, your pet is not getting a rushed visit and then left alone. There is someone actually present, checking on them, sitting with them, giving them time. Back in India, I also contribute to animals through Besant memorial animal dispensary that looks after animals. I mention this only because it shows this has always come from love for animals, nothing more than that. My Pet Experience Roshini (Labrador) raised her from 2008 to 2013 Jeni (Labrador) raised her from 2010 to 2017 Jeni 2 (Labrador) with us since 2017, living happily in India Emess (German Shepherd) with us since 2020, living happily in India Precious (Domestic Cat) with us since 2023, living happily in India Melody (a) Cookie Brook (Domestic Cat) joined our family in 2025, now living happily with us here in Canada Pet care fits naturally into my day since I work full time from home, so I am giving attention throughout the day, not just at fixed times. Mornings usually start with feeding and a walk if it is a dog. Since I am home all day, every day, I stay relaxed and available, checking in regularly for company, bathroom breaks, and playtime whenever needed, not rushing through it at any point. With cats, I keep a steady rhythm for feeding and litter cleaning, but also give them their own space and time. This flexibility stays the same whether it is a weekday or a weekend. Your pet will be cared for in my home, which is a gated apartment on the 20th floor in a pet friendly building. The balcony is fully netted for cat protection, so there is no risk of pets going near the edge, it is completely secure. Since it is a gated building, there is also an added layer of safety before anyone can even reach the door. Inside, I make sure the space stays calm and safe, no loose wires or small objects a pet could get into, and food, water, and litter are kept in a consistent spot so pets settle in easily. My own cat is also at home, so the environment is already used to having a pet moving around comfortably. I have attached a photo of the netted balcony below for your kind perusal, so you can see the safety setup for yourself.
“Erica was amazing with Jasper! She kept us updated with photos, followed his routine, and made sure he felt comfortable and loved while we were away. We could tell right away that he was happy and well cared for. We’d absolutely book with Erica again and highly recommend her! 😊”

“This was our first experience with Rover and Lucia made it a wonderful experience and alleviated all our worries about leaving our dog with someone else for the first time. She treated our dog with love, care, and kindness, and was great at communicating throughout the day. We did a daycare session in preparation for a longer boarding session and our dog clearly enjoyed his time with Lucia and her dog Benjie. Benjie is a very calm and loving dog and he made it easier for our dog to adjust. We’re glad we found Lucia and lucky this was our first experience with Rover. We will be leaving our dog with Lucia for boarding and we’re excited for all the fun he will have!”

“Akash was amazing at taking great care of my puppy for the day! He sent me updates and pictures constantly throughout the day. It is obvious that he loves dogs and is really good with them. I highly recommend Akash as a reliable dog sitter that you can count on, and looking forward to using his service again!”

Gouri and her husband were wonderful. Warm, kind and very welcoming to Jerry. Jerry had a great time at their place and was very well taken care of. Gouri followed all the instructions I had shared and kept me updated throughout the day, which I really appreciated. Jerry came home happy and tired after a fun day! Easy 5 stars, highly recommend!!

Amy was amazing. Buckley had a great time and met her cat. The meeting went really well except he didn't understand why the cat didn't want to play. Other than doggy daycare with tons of dogs this was the first time he was left with someone who was unfamiliar and he was fine. He was his usual happy self when we came to pick him up. Would recommend 100%.

Lindsay and Jonathan did a great job with my dog Kobe! They were super friendly and responsive, sent me lots of pictures and took him for walks to burn off his energy! Kobe also got along super well with their cute dog Dobbie and will be looking forward to going back another time!

Mylene and her daughter Sam did a great job looking after my frenchie, Fredo, for an overnight stay. They were so accommodating of my schedule and allowed 2 visits before the actual booking to make sure Fredo is comfortable to the new place. Everything worked out and I could not be more grateful. Will use their services again in the future and highly recommended for others.

Allison saved my day! I needed someone to watch Pretzel while I handled some travel logistics, and Allison couldn't have been more helpful. Pretzel felt instantly safe with her and I was kept in the loop while Allison was watching Pretzel. I highly recommend Allison for your pet sitting needs!

Vicky was amazing with Emi! We had to book our little Emi for a last minute daycare. She was very attentive and made sure to follow as per our instructions. Emi has a little weird habit of only eating when you're with her and Vicky made sure to sit with her multiple times to try and get her to eat. She also made sure to walk her before we came to pick her up which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely book with her again. ❤️

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Mississauga commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
