“My dog didn’t really want to come back. He was sad for a good amount of time after coming back home 😂 He loved the play time with Baltej! Thank you, Baltej for such an early morning accommodation.”

“Winnie was great with Bella—kind, calm, and incredibly dependable. She clearly has a natural way with dogs and made sure Bella felt safe and cared for throughout her stay. I really appreciated the updates and her thoughtful approach.”

“Lindsay & Jonathan have been taking exceptional care of Simba. He is always so excited for his daycare at their place. He is also really fond of their dog Dobbie who is really well behaved and such a sweet boy. I’m really happy to have found Lindsay and Jonathan to take care of Simba!”

About: I’ve had my own cat since I was 17 years old! (he passed away 😔) and i’ve also been dog sitting my neighbour’s dog for almost a year consistently I am currently unemployed!! I’ll be starting grad school in the fall (sept 2026), so I’m at home most of the time and can accommodate pets easily :) I live in a condo, ideal for cats and small/medium dogs! I’m okay with the dogs using my balcony too pee because I know it’s super cold outside but taking them outside to pee frequently is not a problem at all!! I live with my dad who is mostly traveling
“We had a great experience with Emily. Our pup was happy and felt right at home under her care. She is very nurturing and you can tell she is very passionate about dogs the way she cares for them. She is amazing and I would definitely recommend her.”

“We had a wonderful experience with An In C. She was attentive, friendly and very understanding of our travel situation. My dog really enjoyed her yard and I enjoyed the many lovely photos. Will definitely book with An In again in the future!”

“I don't have enough good things to say about Nina! I've never left my dog in the care of someone who I didn't personally know so I was a little skeptical at first BUT Nina was amazing. She was very polite, communication was a breeze, she kept me posted with pictures and videos. Drop off and pick up was easy. She asked all the right questions when we met. She's genuinely a very nice person and I could tell cooper was pampered with lots of attention because the next time he saw her, he ran straight upto her and was super excited to see her again. When cooper is in her care, I feel a sense of relief while I'm out because I know he's in good hands. I would recommend Nina to other pet owners in a heartbeat. And I'll definitely be using her services in the future!”
“Niharika is awesome. My puppy is well taken care of and was walked regularly every two hours. I will definitely book her again. Thank you Niharika! My pup loves you already!”

“Noel and her family took such good care of my girl Dallas! She provided me with updates throughout the day and sending me pictures to put my mind at ease. Took her for walks and played with her throughout the day! I highly recommend Noel and her family to care for your fur babies.”

“We highly recommend Paola. Our Yumi’s been going to daycare at Winston and Friends and it’s a horrible experience. We can tell our Yumi is not happy going there that’s why we decided to check here in Rover and we’re so glad we found Paola. Paola is amazing, she accommodate our Yumi in such a short noticed. It’s our Yumi’s first day with her but we can tell she had so much fun already. We’re now definitely at ease every time we have to leave her with someone who can actually take care of her. Thanks again Paola.”

About: With two years of dedicated pet care experience under my belt, my journey has been both enriching and enlightening. Working at Dogotopia provided me with invaluable insights into dog behavior, as I immersed myself in understanding the intricacies of canine psychology and social dynamics. Through frequent pet-sitting opportunities, I honed my skills in providing attentive and compassionate care to furry companions of all shapes and sizes. However, the most rewarding aspect of my pet care journey has been owning and training my beloved dog, Ocean. As both companion and pupil, Ocean has been my constant source of joy and inspiration, teaching me patience, empathy, and the profound bond that can exist between human and canine. Together, these experiences have shaped me into a confident and knowledgeable pet caregiver, ready to embark on any challenge that comes my way. I’m a University student taking time off. I now have a free schedule dedicated to caring for my dog Ocean, which is not just a responsibility but a joyful commitment. With three hour-long walks scheduled throughout the day – in the morning, noon, and night – Ocean's well-being and happiness are my top priorities. I can’t wait to provide this same dedication to your furry friend. Living in a townhouse without a fenced backyard may seem limiting, but the proximity to multiple parks offers an ideal alternative for allowing dogs to expend their energy safely while fostering healthy socialization skills. I’m able to provide your furry companions with essential care, coupled with knowledge of CPR and drug administration, ensuring their well-being and safety in any situation. Whether it's maintaining their daily needs such as food, water, and exercise, or addressing potential emergencies, such as injuries or illnesses, having the skills and knowledge to administer CPR and medication can be life-saving. Additionally, I have a friendly, happy-go-lucky dog named Ocean, who is an absolute delight. His outgoing and sociable nature brings a contagious energy to every interaction, whether it's at the dog park, on neighbourhood walks, or during playdates with furry companions. Ocean’s wagging tail and playful demeanour will instantly put your fur baby at ease, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy.
About: I’ve had my own pets for the last 25+ years and can’t imagine my life without one. I’ve also cared for family members pets when needed I have a soft spot for senior pets and prefer pets up to 25 pounds as I know I can manage them very well. I’m retired so have a lot of free time to spend with pet clients. I don’t have other commitments so can structure my day around them. I have a fenced yard and my own small rescue pup who is very good at giving other pups their space. I’m very observant and detail oriented . I’m a critical thinker and can anticipate issues and Problem solve. I typically take my own pet for several good walks (45 min each) per day and also am out with him in the backyard frequently. Pets are allowed on the furniture, I provide a safe calm very clean environment, I can send you pictures of your pet, I am very responsive to an individual pets needs and am vigilant in ensuring their safety. Indoors and outdoors
“Ava had such a great time! She was so well cared for and came home happy and relaxed. I really appreciated the regular updates and photos — would definitely book again!”

“Natasha was lovely with our pup, Coco. She asked a lot of genuine questions about Coco prior to our booking, ensuring she had the knowledge to care of our pup appropriately. She was kind, welcoming, and loving to Coco during her stay. We received lots of photos and updates throughout the day. Coco will definitely be back!”

“Chintan and Ayushi are gentle, kindly dog lovers who provided Titan with a quiet day of TLC in their home. Titan is an older dog, and he appreciated the opportunity to nap the day away near the patio doors, so he could be close to the expansive back yard. Chintan and Ayushi have him space to adapt to this new setting and let him adapt at his own pace. I heartily recommend this couple as dog caregivers.”

About: After retiring I adopted Sunshine a mini goldendoodle, my new best friend. Shortly after that I started to take care of my friends and family fur babies when needed. Realized I really enjoyed it and now want to open my home to more dog owners when they need someone to help them out. Can easily change our routine to accommodate your dogs specific need. Am able to give your dog their medication. Looking forward to welcoming your dog into my home. As I am retired I can spend lot of time with your fur baby. Our day usually starts with a hour or so walk. Midday a 45 minute walk. Late afternoon another walk for about 20-30 minutes. The last one of the day is 10-15 minutes. Then off to bed where your fur baby can sleep on the bed, the floor, a dog bed. Except for the 1st walk of the day we are usually joined by friends with their dog. We live off a conservation area so lots of walks are in the woods and exploring neighborhoods. Can easily change our routine to accommodate your fur baby needs. Lots of play time.
“I did a day of doggy daycare for my dog Luna as trial run prior to a longer stay and things seemed to have gone well. Looking forward to how things go when Luna is there for a longer period of time. 😃”

Lindsay and Jonathan did a great job with my dog Kobe! They were super friendly and responsive, sent me lots of pictures and took him for walks to burn off his energy! Kobe also got along super well with their cute dog Dobbie and will be looking forward to going back another time!

Noel and her family took such good care of my girl Dallas! She provided me with updates throughout the day and sending me pictures to put my mind at ease. Took her for walks and played with her throughout the day! I highly recommend Noel and her family to care for your fur babies.

Mylene and her daughter Sam did a great job looking after my frenchie, Fredo, for an overnight stay. They were so accommodating of my schedule and allowed 2 visits before the actual booking to make sure Fredo is comfortable to the new place. Everything worked out and I could not be more grateful. Will use their services again in the future and highly recommended for others.

Already 2nd time and and we are so so Happy our Choco is so comfortable with them and when we went to pick him up, he looked very vibrant happy and amazing thank you Shashank and his wife for taking care of Choco and he’s your regular now. See you soon and will definitely definitely recommend your services to others. You deserve more than five stars.😀

Allison saved my day! I needed someone to watch Pretzel while I handled some travel logistics, and Allison couldn't have been more helpful. Pretzel felt instantly safe with her and I was kept in the loop while Allison was watching Pretzel. I highly recommend Allison for your pet sitting needs!

Vicky was amazing with Emi! We had to book our little Emi for a last minute daycare. She was very attentive and made sure to follow as per our instructions. Emi has a little weird habit of only eating when you're with her and Vicky made sure to sit with her multiple times to try and get her to eat. She also made sure to walk her before we came to pick her up which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely book with her again. ❤️

Christa is the most wonderful sitter! She has watched my Theo countless times over the last few months, and he’s genuinely excited to see her every time. She treats him like he’s her own, and I couldn’t feel more comfortable and happy knowing he’s safe with her throughout the day. She takes him on several walks and sends updates along with pictures. Could not recommend enough!!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
