“Melanie is a wonderful dog sitter. She looked after Kaia for a day when I sent her a last minute request. She was responsive, kept me updated and comfortable that my dog was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again.”

About: Since I was a child I have always had at least 1 dog in my home! As a work from home mom, I am able to provide all the the care and attention your dog may need. We are a family that absolutely loves dogs and there is no doubt your dog will receive a loving environment whilst with us. I am currently working part-time from home and so am able to give your pup the attention it needs during the day and go out for regular walks. I live in a townhouse with a fully fenced in back yard and have a friendly 4 year old cockapoo who will keep your pup company. I am happy to be flexible when it comes to the sleeping arrangement of each pup, if you would prefer me to crate your dog at night, I will gladly do that.
“Lise has cared for Willow twice now, for day time visits. The second time, Willow ran into Lise’s home with her tail wagging and didn’t even look back to say bye to mom. Lise’s dogs, Carter and Zoey are very friendly and welcoming. Willow is comfortable staying with Lise and her family. She is really happy there. Their home is clean, spacious and warm. Lise and her husband are caring, warm people and are excellent with dogs. I love the pictures she sends. We will not hesitate to leave Willow with them for longer visits in the future.”

About: I’ve done some pet sitting for friends and family, and I absolutely adore it. My tiny Min Pin was my little shadow for 18.5 wonderful years, and my daughter’s two silly Aussies have proudly made me their ‘grand‑paw‑rent.’ I’m a naturally caring person — I look after my 95‑year‑old dad who lives with us, and I cared for my mother‑in‑law until her passing. Caring is just part of my heart. I’d be over the moon to spoil a new little pooch, even if it’s just for a short stay.” A pet fits perfectly into my daily routine because I work from home and can give them my full attention. I’m around all day, so your pup gets company, care, walks and lots of love whenever they need it In my home, pets get lots of attention, affection, and a calm, safe environment. I work from home, so I’m around all day to keep them company, follow their routine, and make sure they feel secure. I give them plenty of playtime, cuddles, fresh water, regular meals, and outdoor breaks as needed. I’m very gentle and patient, and I treat every pet like part of the family.
About: Our family love all pets, and our little husky is very calm and loves playing around with all breeds. I've grown with dogs and other kinds of pets all my life, back in Mexico, friends and family would trust their furry friends with us. Not a professional groomer or anything but have raised, trained and cared for many, I used to go help our vet, when I wanted to be one as a kid. I work from home, so I’m around most of the day to give your pup plenty of attention. Our husky, Blue, is my walking buddy—we usually go on a couple of walks a day, and she also enjoys hanging out in the backyard or napping on the couch. If you’re comfortable with it, I’m happy to take your dog along to the dog park, just like I do for Blue. I can give oral medications if needed and will always keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing how your pet is doing. Since I work from home, my schedule is flexible. I typically go on 2–3 walks a day and have plenty of time for play breaks, backyard time, or just keeping your pup company. My daughter has a few activities during the week, but there’s always someone home, so your dog won’t be left alone for long periods. Feeding times can be adjusted to match your dog’s routine, though I usually feed Blue twice a day. Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. Our home is dog-friendly, with a fenced backyard where pups can play and explore securely. Inside, dogs are welcome to relax on the couch or find a cozy spot of their own. I always keep an eye on interactions to make sure everyone feels safe and happy. Whether in my home or yours, I’ll follow your instructions carefully—whether that means sticking to a strict schedule, avoiding certain foods, or keeping walks calm and controlled. You can trust that your dog will be treated like part of the family here.
“Our dog Spirit’s stay for the day worked very well. Meredith is an enthusiastic dog lover and we appreciated the pics and updates during the day. Would definitely recommend Meredith .”

“This is the second time Cenayda has cared for Genni and Cricket. My pups seem incredibly comfortable and happy while with her. They enthusiastically ran into her home. I'm very pleased with her 😊 care of my 2 little angels”

While in care, your dog will be treated as one of the family, even having a spot on the couch if that’s what they enjoy. I understand the stresses and worries while you are away. You can relax knowing that your dogs are in good hands and safe surroundings.I will send you daily updates and pictures of your dog while you’re away. I have 17 year old twins who absolutely adore dogs. Your furry friend will have plenty of fun playing with them. I am very athletic and enjoy long walks, so your dog will have good exercise. I also have a 10 years old pug. He is fixed and very friendly. There is no dull moment in my house! Our only ask is that your dog does not bite or react to kids and other dogs negatively. We do not crate your furry friend unless you request it. I have plenty of time to play with your pups. I have fully fenced, large backyard for your doggie to run around and enjoy the outdoor. There’s always someone in my house, so your furry friend will never be alone. I enjoy long walks so he/she will get a plenty of exercise.
About: I love animals, I grew up with dogs and even tough currently I don’t have my own pet, I would like to share my love with your furry friend! We would wake up early, have a morning walk and eat some breakfast. We would go for another walk at mid morning, lunch time and afternoon. To end the day, we would have dinner and a long relaxing walk before going to bed. Tons of love and cuddles, play time during the whole day. I provide boarding and day care which includes walks, feeding time and play time. It is a 2 story apartment so your little one will have enough space to exercise, also have a patio and backyard that is nice to chill out when weather permits.

“Elissa is a great sitter. She goes above and beyond to take care of your loved pet and make them feel at home. Drake had tons of fun playing, running around and finally having cuddles. He also went out safely during the terrible weather. I am very appreciative of the care and attention that was provided. Highly recommended ♥️”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Burlington
Diana was wonderful to chat with and to have her take care of our husky. She gave me a clear picture of what Maze’s stay would be like and her backyard and asked great questions to understand Maze’s needs. Thank you for taking care of Maze! Will definitely use her again.

Thena was absolutely incredible with my dog! I reached out to her on fairly short notice, and she was so accommodating. My dog has a medical condition that requires a special diet and medication, and Thena was extremely attentive to all of his needs and carefully followed every instruction. She provided regular updates and was always responsive, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! 100/10!

Luis and his family take great care of our pup & are very accommodating. We don't ever have a worry about the safety or well being of our canine best friend. Blue is a sweetheart also and demonstrates that her owners have trained her well and know what they're doing. We're very glad to have Luis as our trusted neighbourhood sitter. Thank you!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Burlington commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 77% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
