“Valerie was able to schedule a walk for Pepsi even on short notice and did such an amazing job with him. She was very professional and caring when it came to understanding Pepsi’s needs and getting to know him. From their initial meet and greet it was clear he liked her and that he would be well taken care of.”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of pets for most of my life. Growing up my family has had dogs, cats, bunnies, fish and even a cockatiel. I’ve house sat and dog sat multiple times and come away with a new best friend each time. I work full time from home during the week on a fully flexible schedule. I can essentially take breaks from work whenever I need throughout the day to attend to any errands or responsibilities on my schedule, pet care included. I am generally pretty free in the evenings & weekends. I am a young, agile and strong pet lover who can adapt to the animal I am with. For bigger more domineering animals I am comfortable taking care of them & for more docile pet I can be a delicate gentle teddy bear as well!

About: I am a wildlife biologist who has grown up surrounded by pets. I have a couple of my own cats at home that I adopted over a year ago. I am very experienced with all types of dogs and love going on walks. I miss spending time with dogs so I will take great care of yours, and get them the exercise they need! I love all types of animals! I am happy to come visit your dogs, or cats, to help with their care, or take them on a walk! I'd be happy to take older dogs on slower walks around the neighbourhood, and energetic dogs can get their exercise on a long and fast-paced walk! I can't wait to meet your dog! I am a very responsible individual with lots of animal experience. I make it a priority to give my cats the best life I can with enrichment and proper diet. I always make it a priority to give your pets the best care possible.

“From our very first meeting we felt like Lorraine was so comfortable to be with. Our cat Sherlock absolutely loved her and was immediately purring around her during our meet and greet. Lorraine has been a perfect caring sitter and substitute mommy for Sherlock. She's sent us many pictures and lots of details during each visit. Each check in has been on time and detailed. Once home everything was perfectly in order and our fur baby was a relaxed and happy cat. Our first experience with Rover and Lorraine has been nothing short of phenomenal.”

“Emily has been an incredible sitter and we’re so grateful to have her as our repeat sitter. She’s reliable, caring, and truly understands cats—their routines, personalities, and quirks. Every time we’re away, we have complete peace of mind knowing our cats are in safe, loving hands. She keeps us updated, follows instructions perfectly, and our cats are always happy and relaxed when we return. Highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter!”

“Our cat Rocket is a tough little guy to get to know and he has ‘catattitude’, however, Caroline took it all in stride and tried her best to get Rocket to enjoy their time together. She sent timely Rover Reports and pictures and I know that Rocket looked forward to her daily visits. Thank you Caroline for taking good care of Rocket for us while we were away, hopefully next time he will be a little more friendly for you. Nancie”

We do not crate your furry friend unless you request it. I have plenty of time to play with your pups. I have fully fenced, large backyard for your doggie to run around and enjoy the outdoor. There’s always someone in my house, so your furry friend will never be alone. I enjoy long walks so he/she will get a plenty of exercise.
“Paige has been excellent with my puppy making sure she is cared for during the day on drop in visits. Paige is very reliable showing up promptly at our designated time and communicating with me about the visit. Would definifely recommend.”

About: As a lifelong pet owner, I've always had a house filled with multiple pets. From kittens and puppies to seniors. As small as 5lb chihuahuas to 95lb labs, I have experience with all ages, stages and sizes. I'm currently in the start-up phase of creating my own home-based business so have lots of availability during the weekday. As a mom to two, evenings and weekends can be challenging but may be possible. I'm a very affectionate caregiver and love showering dogs and cats with lots of pets and snuggles. Each pet gets treated as if they were my own. As an avid traveller, I know what it's like to leave your pet in someone's care and the disappointment that can come when the caregiver does not live up to your expectations, and I vow not to do that to another family. I will treat your pet and home with the utmost respect.
“Rebecca was amazing! She went over and above our expectations and sent us pictures of our kitty every day. Penny was in good hands during our trip, we would definitely book with Rebecca again.”

About: Hello, I am Julia, 28years old, working as a Nurse in London. I just love animals so much and would like to provide good care and love to dogs and cats! I have small dog back home, 8 years old, super cute and family dog and miss him so much. So I would like to take good care your dog like my buddy! I am pretty flexible, working as part time in the hospital, mostly 8hours or 12 hours so I have days off on weekdays. Love to go to park and walk with them, can take care of puppies ( love puppies!!) and can send a lots of cute pictures to animal. I know the importance of communication between owner and sitter. Will communicate with you for sure!
“This was my first booking with Madisyn. She was great with my kitty Theo. I am very particular about who I leave him in the care of because he is very temperamental and needs to follow a bit of a regimented routine for his health. She met all of my requests without hesitation. She kept me updated with photos and kept in contact with me and even kept track of his bathroom schedule! She also brushed him because he has A LOT of hair - important as a preventative measure so he does not get a blockage(he previously had surgery to remove a hairball!) Theo seemed to have a really good time with her & be very comfortable in her care based on the Live Photos. He loves play time which she was sure to include with each visit. Will definitely be using Madisyn again in the future & highly recommend her if you want someone who is responsible, understanding and who will honestly go above and beyond for your pet so that you can feel at ease when you are not there to take care of them yourself.”

Emily was absolutely amazing checking in on TJ while I was on vacation! She truly went above and beyond and made me feel completely comfortable knowing he was in great hands. She sent lots of updates and photos with every visit, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Emily was reliable, caring, and clearly treated TJ like her own. If you’re like me and feel anxious about leaving your pets for any period of time, you can absolutely trust Emily to take great care of them. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful pet sitter, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Lorraine took fantastic care of our two cats while we were away. We truly loved receiving her regular updates and the many beautiful photos she sent, which made being away so much easier. She is reliable, caring, and highly professional. We will definitely ask her to look after our cats again.

Once again, I was extremely pleased with the service provided by Laura. I had to leave my little furry friend at home while traveling for work, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in Laura’s care. She always takes wonderful care of him, keeps him entertained and happy, and regularly sends me lots of photos and videos, which gives me great peace of mind while I’m away.

Shannon took excellent care of my brand new puppy! She provided me constant updates throughout the day on how my puppy was doing while I was at work which allowed me to go about my day knowing my puppy was in excellent hands. Will definitely be booking Shannon again and recommending her to friends and family!

Michelle was amazing. She sent photos, kept us updated on Luna's eating, and followed all instructions. She washed Luna's dishes even though we said she could just toss them in the dishwasher and even put bird videos on the TV to entertain Luna :) I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to pop in and feed or check on their pet while they are away. Fantastic experience

I can’t say exactly say why, but I’ve had terrible experiences with finding a reliable sitter that Lucy and I both liked, until now. I was leaving for the Caribbean and needed a reliable caregiver for Lucy that I could trust. Will was and is fantastic. We booked him for this weekend too and again it went seamlessly. There was something that went wrong in my home and I’m so grateful that Will handled it perfectly. Most importantly, he took really great care of Lucy and our home!

As always, Caroline provided awesome care for my two cats while I was away. She tried various ways to coax my kitten out of hiding until he became familiar and friendly with her and catered to my senior cat by finding him and bringing food and treats to him when he would not appear during her visits. Her communication was excellent as well.

We had a positive experience with Rachel. While we were away for a night, she visited our home to feed our two cats who need individualized portions and are quite scared of strangers. Rachel followed our instructions and left our place clean. Thank you, Rachel :)

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
