“Emily was an absolute lifesaver! She took incredible care of our cats while we were away and made our vacation completely stress-free. She was kind, attentive, and consistently shared updates that gave us total peace of mind. Our cats were clearly comfortable and happy under her care. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter — highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for someone truly trustworthy and caring!”

“Unbelievably awesome! Even with a dog that is large (!!) and can be difficult with new people! Helped with a last minute booking and saved my life or at least a lot of stress. Thank you so much for your help!”

“Valerie was able to schedule a walk for Pepsi even on short notice and did such an amazing job with him. She was very professional and caring when it came to understanding Pepsi’s needs and getting to know him. From their initial meet and greet it was clear he liked her and that he would be well taken care of.”

“Heather took great care of our XL rottweiler/dogo mixed breed who is high energy and extremely intelligent. She left a thank-you card and provided photos of a very happy and entertained big-boy while we were away for the day in Toronto. We recommend and will be re-booking soon and often. -Stephen&Kristen”

She provided me constant updates throughout the day on how my puppy was doing while I was at work which allowed me to go about my day knowing my puppy was in excellent hands. Will definitely be booking Shannon again and recommending her to friends and family!”

“Great communication! Meredith is lovely and truly cared about my cat. I was anxious about leaving her all by herself but I needn't have worried. I got lots of updates and pictures/videos. Everything was perfect when I got home from my vacation. So appreciate you.”

“Our first time using Rover and we found Julie, who took great care of our Frankie. Frankie is a high-energy dog, but Julie did an amazing job with him. She was calm, confident, and Frankie responded really well to her. I’d definitely book with Julie again. Her excellent communication kept me informed and at ease throughout the experience. Thank you Julie!”

“I was very pleased with Caroline’s drop in visits with my two cats for a week. She was very thorough in her daily messages / report cards, sending photos and outlining any concerns she may have had, which was very helpful. My boys seemed to be in good hands for the week. I would definitely recommend Caroline’s services and would not hesitate to book her in the future should I need someone to look after my cats. Thank you Caroline!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was a kid and grew up with a dog of my own so being around animals has always come naturally to me. Over the years I’ve taken care of neighbours’ and friends’ pets and gained experience with different personalities and routines. I’m comfortable feeding pets letting dogs out for bathroom breaks cleaning up messes and giving them lots of attention affection and playtime. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. What sets me apart is that I truly enjoy spending time with animals and treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m patient dependable attentive and always happy to give pets the care and companionship they need. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I recently finished my third year of university and am currently on summer break, so I’m looking to fill my time doing something I truly love. I’m available most days and have a very flexible schedule. I currently work part time on weekends but I’m completely willing and able to adjust my schedule if needed to make sure pets get the care and attention they deserve. Whether it’s feeding walks playtime bathroom breaks or simply keeping pets company, I’m happy to work around each pet’s routine and give them consistent care throughout the day. I enjoy creating a calm comfortable environment where pets feel safe loved and cared for while their owners are away. I’m very attentive to the animals in my care and always make their safety comfort and wellbeing my top priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home I do my best to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible so they feel safe relaxed and well cared for in their familiar environment. I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs and understand that every pet has different needs personalities and routines. I pay close attention to their behaviour habits and overall wellbeing and I would never hesitate to reach out to an owner if I had any concerns about their pet. I take the responsibility of caring for someone else’s animal very seriously because I know I would only want the very best care for my own pets. I always aim to create a calm loving and trustworthy environment where pets feel comfortable and owners feel confident leaving their pets in my care.
“Amazing! Great first experience with Rover. Had a good visit first which helped us feel reassured we made the right choice, then the booking itself went so smoothly - went above and beyond with the comments & photos and really helped with being away! Thanks so much!”

“Grateful to Rachel for looking after my girl! Esper is normally shy of new people but she took to Rachel immediately! I couldn’t believe it! She’s a dog whisperer :) highly recommend and would happily use Rachel again.”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of pets for most of my life. Growing up my family has had dogs, cats, bunnies, fish and even a cockatiel. I’ve house sat and dog sat multiple times and come away with a new best friend each time. I work full time from home during the week on a fully flexible schedule. I can essentially take breaks from work whenever I need throughout the day to attend to any errands or responsibilities on my schedule, pet care included. I am generally pretty free in the evenings & weekends. I am a young, agile and strong pet lover who can adapt to the animal I am with. For bigger more domineering animals I am comfortable taking care of them & for more docile pet I can be a delicate gentle teddy bear as well!
About: As a lifelong pet owner, I've always had a house filled with multiple pets. From kittens and puppies to seniors. As small as 5lb chihuahuas to 95lb labs, I have experience with all ages, stages and sizes. I'm currently in the start-up phase of creating my own home-based business so have lots of availability during the weekday. As a mom to two, evenings and weekends can be challenging but may be possible. I'm a very affectionate caregiver and love showering dogs and cats with lots of pets and snuggles. Each pet gets treated as if they were my own. As an avid traveller, I know what it's like to leave your pet in someone's care and the disappointment that can come when the caregiver does not live up to your expectations, and I vow not to do that to another family. I will treat your pet and home with the utmost respect.
“Richelle was very professional and diligent - she took care of my kitten at the same time every day and provided him with lots of entertainment. I would not hesitate using Richelle again.”

“This was my first experience with Rover and Jeff was phenomenal. We needed help walking Wilson… a large, exuberant 10 month old puppy (while his mom was away) and Jeff was the perfect fit. For two weeks he was reliable and punctual … sending daily updates and photos … always replied promptly to msgs too.Thank you Jeff … definitely recommend you and would ask for your services again in the future.”

From bouncy puppies still learning the ropes to gentle seniors who need a little extra patience, I’ve handled it all. I’m also a cat owner myself, so animals truly are a part of my everyday life. Whether your pup is a high-energy large breed or a small dog who just wants company, they’ll be in fun, caring hands with me. As a university student, my days are flexible and I structure my time around the dogs I care for. Since I come to your home, your dog gets to stay in their own familiar environment — no stress, no adjustment period. I treat every client’s home with full respect, follow any house rules or routines you have in place, and always ensure doors, gates, and leashes are secure before anything else. You’ll get updates and photos throughout so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
About: I have a 1 year old puppy Finnigan who could use a friend as I work from home. I would have to make sure the dogs meet in advance to ensure a good match. I work from home and my typical schedule for walks with Finny is a 40min walk at lunchtime and a 20min walk after work. We would love to make new friends! I have a one bedroom condo with a balcony overlooking a forest. Finnigan is friendly with almost all dogs and people. I am laid back and friendly!

Shannon took excellent care of my brand new puppy! She provided me constant updates throughout the day on how my puppy was doing while I was at work which allowed me to go about my day knowing my puppy was in excellent hands. Will definitely be booking Shannon again and recommending her to friends and family!

Michelle was amazing. She sent photos, kept us updated on Luna's eating, and followed all instructions. She washed Luna's dishes even though we said she could just toss them in the dishwasher and even put bird videos on the TV to entertain Luna :) I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to pop in and feed or check on their pet while they are away. Fantastic experience

We are so fortunate to have found Dee and Shane. After meeting them you can tell that they truly love animals and we felt a lot of comfort knowing that they would be taking care of our cats. While we were gone they sent us the cutest pictures and notes which was very comforting. We will definitely be using Dee and Shane as catsitters in the future. I know our cats will be looking forward to it!

Emily did a fantastic job sitting Moose and Maverick. Never has anyone got close to them as quickly as she did. Normally they run and hide when someone visits. Emily got them to interact with he on the first visit.she is definitely a cat whisperer. When I came home they greeted me immediately. Which was unusual. They were very friendly, no hissing and stayed with me the rest of the night.I really think they were expecting Emily. I thank Emily for a job well done and look forward to having her look after Moose and Maverick in the future.

I can’t say exactly say why, but I’ve had terrible experiences with finding a reliable sitter that Lucy and I both liked, until now. I was leaving for the Caribbean and needed a reliable caregiver for Lucy that I could trust. Will was and is fantastic. We booked him for this weekend too and again it went seamlessly. There was something that went wrong in my home and I’m so grateful that Will handled it perfectly. Most importantly, he took really great care of Lucy and our home!

As always, Caroline provided awesome care for my two cats while I was away. She tried various ways to coax my kitten out of hiding until he became familiar and friendly with her and catered to my senior cat by finding him and bringing food and treats to him when he would not appear during her visits. Her communication was excellent as well.

We had a positive experience with Rachel. While we were away for a night, she visited our home to feed our two cats who need individualized portions and are quite scared of strangers. Rachel followed our instructions and left our place clean. Thank you, Rachel :)

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
