About: I am a long-time pet lover and owner! I've had large and small dogs along with cats over my life. I had a large dog (Rottweiler 98lbs) with aggression issues, so I'm not put off by a little attitude from your pet. Every animal has its own personality just like humans. I am certified in Canine First Aid and have Dog Behaviour (basic), Dog to Dog Aggression, Canine Separation Anxiety, Daycare & Group Play Assessment and Dog Walking Certification course training. I lost my pet recently from cancer and am not ready to readopt yet. I promise I will love and care for your pet as my own. I promise to be very respectful and tidy while in/around your home. I feel that communication is very important while pet parents are away, so I like to give updates and photos of our adventures. I am Oakville born and raised. I went to St.Mildred's & OTHS then studied at George Brown College. I live in Old Oakville. I am an activist on animal rights and do what I can to help ALL animals. You may find me at a protest or rally fighting for the rights of all animals on the weekends. I am very close with my family so don't be surprised if you see my folks at the house hanging out. I grew up in an animal house and my folks love animals also but don't have any pets right now either. I would love a chance to meet you and your pet family! I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you :) I am a pet sitting Professional!! That's what I do!! I take care and love your pet like it was my own. I prefer to keep the dogs with me during the day if I can and they usually love the little adventures. I also have a car so we can go to a mix of parks. I live at a house with my parents with nice little yard and a park right out front. This makes it easy for quick walk and lots of good smell to keep the dog cognitive arousal fulfilled. There is an abundance of parks around me.

She was fantastic! So caring with my cats, especially because they are so shy with strangers, she managed to be able to get them into the same room with her! She was so good with helping me as well, first time leaving the fur babies. She is a great and amazing person, will definitely be using her again!

About: I’ve cared for friends’ and family members’ dogs and pets for years, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I also regularly watch my boyfriend’s family dog, who is very energetic and rambunctious, and I’m experienced in keeping him calm, relaxed, and well-behaved on walks. I am currently working on my masters thesis from home, providing me with a flexible schedule to provide walks at many hours of the day. I enjoy long walks myself and thought that it would be amazing to pair my love for the outdoors with some furry friends! I do not currently offer in home services at this moment. I am unable to care for pets in my own home as we have some renovations happening.

This was my first time using Rover.com and trusting my cats to another person besides my family or neighbour. I knew the first day that Macy came to meet the cats that I had no reason to be concerned. Each day of my trip, I received a quick message updating me on the progress she was making with my very shy cat and the affection she was showing my very needy cat:-). I have two rescue cats, each with very quirky issues and Macy wasn't deterred by their needs. Our pets are family and it was nice to have Macy be part of that family.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 15. Whether it be my grandmas, our families or friends, I have been responsible to walk, feed and bathe them for years. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to take breaks during work hours to walk your pups or as well as in the early morning or evening. Establishing trust between myself and the dog is the most important. Firstly, I stay calm and allow for some time and space to reassure them I’m not threatening and establish familiarity. I provide regular check-ins for ease of mind and work to establish a regular routine for the animals in my care. I am passionate about animal care and find it sincerely therapeutic.

Absolute peace of mind! I couldn't be happier with the care my cat received, and knowing someone so reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring was dropping in made all the difference. They followed all instructions perfectly, kept me updated, and made sure everything was clean, fed, and happy. It is incredibly rare to find someone who treats your pet with the exact same love and attention that you do. If you are looking for someone completely trustworthy and dependable to care for your fur baby, look no further, as I will absolutely be booking again!

About: I am literally crazy for canines—love their beautiful souls and their big hearts. I am new to professional pet sitting but have over 25 years of experience looking after my own dogs. I spend a lot of time with my senior girls but have flexibility in my schedule to care for your canine babies. My son Armaan has a special bond with all animals, bugs, birds, etc. He can pretty much take care of any pet! I will be looking after your pets in your home. I will accompany dogs into the yard to play and check to make sure yard gates are closed properly. No yard? No problem! I can take them out on a mini walk so they can relieve themselves. On walks, I am careful to maintain a safe distance between dogs and other walkers, joggers, etc. I make sure dogs are well hydrated and their environment is safe and clean.

Lots of cuddles included I run my own business and have plenty of time to dog sit or dog walk throughout the week! I have flexibility to spend time with your furbaby I have a fenced yard with protection under the ground for diggers! Karling dropped in a few times to take care of my bunny Parsley while I was gone for the weekend. I felt so at ease leaving Parsley in her care, and looking at the photos and report cards Parsley seemed to be quite happy too! Thank you so much Karling, from the both of us! 🐰

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Oakville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Oakville on Rover is $27.75 per visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 6,987 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Oakville. About 87% of Oakville sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Oakville stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
