“Meghan was so great with my cat, Priscilla! She was super communicative and made sure that Priscilla was safe during the heat wave on her outdoor walks. I will definitely be asking her to do drop ins again!”

“It's the 2nd time I used Paige. She is awesome. Always on time and spend enough time with my cat. My fur ball definitely love her! I definitely recommend Paige to anyone looking for a cat sitter.”

“I am so happy to have been found Ryan on rover.com. Ryan does a great job looking after our puppy midday every day. Our puppy gets to play outside, do his business, get fed - instead of being crated all day. Ryan is punctual and gives our puppy all the attention he needs. I like getting the rover.com check-in notifications because I know I will soon be getting a report card on the pup's visit and some photos! Best of all I know Ryan makes my puppy happy and that is all I could ask for.”

“This was Lorin’s second time doing drop-in-visits with my two kittens. I really appreciate Lorin’s communication and dependability. We once again came home to two happy kittens!”

“Melanie is a wonderful pet sitter! Not only does she take care of our pets, sending cute pictures and funny little updates daily, Melanie also has her eyes open to the well-being of your home. We were so grateful when she let us know that our fridge was leaking and we were able to mitigate any further damage very quickly! We highly recommend Melanie to care for your pets. We will not hesitate to call on her for future care when needed.”

“Melissa was an amazing dog-sitter! She was so good with Preston and he had the best time with her! She was so attentive to his needs and very responsive. I got daily photos of him, which were so cute!! I will definitely book Melissa again and I totally recommend her service.”

About: Hi! I am a very trustworthy and empathetic animal lover who has experience caring for her own dogs (previously Berners & Goldens), foster dogs, puppies, cats & kittens and my own Calico cat! I will soon be a teacher on summer break with next to no plans! Feel free to reach out and we can make something work. I have a yard that is not fenced in but your dog would be cared for safely on leash, just as we would go for walks. I am an active person but am very in tune to each individual animal’s needs!
“Natalie was awesome taking care of my cat! Friendly, very responsive, followed all instructions and provided daily updates. I also had the chance to see her spaces for cat boarding and they are wonderful! Definitely booking with her again next time I travel.”

“What a great Rover! Ruiyan was on time and very communicative the whole visit. She took great care of our little pup and tired him out so he would be ok for a little bit of a longer kennel day than usual. Will deff use her again”

I lost my pet recently from cancer and am not ready to readopt yet. I promise I will love and care for your pet as my own. I promise to be very respectful and tidy while in/around your home. Thank you :) I am a pet sitting Professional!! That's what I do!! I take care and love your pet like it was my own. “Kristina is very caring and has taken care of my two senior cats numerous times. She is reliable, dependable, and has great communication. She provides medication, lots of love and intuitive to there needs as senior cats. I highly recommend Kristin to care for your pets when you are away! Thank You Kristina : )”

“I have a very old kitty with some health concerns, so needless to say I’m extremely anxious when I have to leave her. Brittany did an amazing job taking care of Oreo while I was gone. She was tasked with giving four different medications to my cat (not an easy task) and went above and beyond to make sure Oreo would take them all. When Oreo halfway through my trip decided she would no longer take her pills normally, Brittany found a compassionate and creative solution that worked wonderfully. She stayed beyond our scheduled time when Oreo started to get sick, and even came in extra times throughout the day without prompt to give her some extra care. Brittany was also very patient, kind, and very quick to respond when I had any questions or concerns about Oreo. You can rest assured that Brittany is very knowledgeable, experienced with giving medication, and truly cares about your pets well-being.”
“Emma is the best!!! We had her drop in twice a day to feed and play with our cat Charlie, and with every visit she would send us messages, pictures and videos. Charlie was in great hands, and it made our vacation stress free knowing Emma was looking after him. Thank you so much Emma!”

“Sydney was the absolute best! My cat can be difficult, but she managed her perfectly and was extremely communicative. The peace of mind I had on vacation knowing my cat was in good hands was invaluable. Sydney even left my little monster a cute gift, and me a beautiful card! Thank you so much, I'll definitely book with you again if/when the time comes ✨?”

About: Most of my pet care experiences are from owning lizard and fishes. But 5 months ago, I started dog walking and I recently adopted a cat and I realized how much I enjoyed being around furry friends ✨️😊 Since it's my summer break from college, I would love to use this as opportunity to enjoy my summer break with furry friends while earning money. When I'm walking my dog client, I make sure he gets his exercise by playing catch, walking, playing with other dogs, exploring, and I make sure to keep him safe. I make sure my cat at home also gets his playtime with me, make sure his bowls are cleaned every time I refill his bowl for food and water 😊
About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 15. Whether it be my grandmas, our families or friends, I have been responsible to walk, feed and bathe them for years. I work from home and have a flexible schedule to take breaks during work hours to walk your pups or as well as in the early morning or evening. Establishing trust between myself and the dog is the most important. Firstly, I stay calm and allow for some time and space to reassure them I’m not threatening and establish familiarity. I provide regular check-ins for ease of mind and work to establish a regular routine for the animals in my care. I am passionate about animal care and find it sincerely therapeutic.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oakville
Melanie was such an amazing cat sitter! We were away for a few days, and she was so attentive and genuinely caring with our cats. Every day, she sent us updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were traveling. It was clear that our cats were in great hands and felt very comfortable with her. She really took the time to play with them and make sure they were happy and well-fed. She made sure the checklist is met every day. Our cats were calm and happy when we got home! We are so glad we found Melanie and will definitely book with her again for our next trip.

The minute I met Melissa I knew she would be a great match for our boy - from the way she introduced herself to him to her detailed questions to be sure she had all of the information she needed. We felt completely secure that he would be well taken care of. Will 100% rebook!
Thank you Ryan for looking after S’mores so well. We appreciate your updates and photos and look forward to them almost as much as S'mores looks forward to his food and daily brushing! Going away knowing our kitty is well taken care off is very much appreciated. Thank you!!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Oakville stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
