“I’m lucky to have found Danielle! I have a senior chihuahua who needs a little extra care and patience with her drop in visits (she is mostly blind and deaf), and now I can rest easy knowing she is safe in Danielle hands. She is very caring and communicative. I will continue to use her services :)”

About: With 9 years of hands-on pet care experience and a dog and cat of my own, I understand what pets need to feel safe and comfortable away from home. I'm attentive to each animal's unique personality and routine, ensuring they get the same love and care I give my own. Your pet isn't just a booking they're family. As a freelance remote worker, pet care fits seamlessly into my everyday life. Because I work from home with a flexible schedule, I have open availability throughout the day meaning pets in my care are never left alone for long stretches. I'm always nearby to offer walks, playtime, feeding, and cuddles on a consistent schedule. My lifestyle is built around being present, which makes caring for your pet feel less like a side job and more like a natural part of my day. I am also lucky to be surrounded by an abundance of green space and dog parks, with the Kay Beltline Trail right at my doorstep making every walk an adventure your pup will love. When caring for pets in your home, my approach is always attentive, consistent, and loving. I understand that familiar surroundings make a big difference — especially for pets who are anxious or routine-driven. I follow each pet's established schedule closely, from feeding times to walks and playtime, so they feel calm and comfortable while you're away. As a remote freelancer with open availability, I'm never rushing in and out. I dedicate real, unhurried time to every pet in my care, treating your home and your animal with the same respect and attention I'd give my own.
“Jingyu was fantastic! She kept me updated on everything, and I felt really comfortable knowing Bruce was in good hands. Bruce can be a little shy, but he even came out for her, which says a lot! I really appreciated the peace of mind she gave me while I was away. I would definitely book her again.”

“Tatiana was the best cat sitter we’ve had on Rover. She was extremely communicative, professional and took great videos and photos of our cat and gave us daily updates. She also paid close attention to our cat’s health reporting any variation in her litter activity. We’ll definitely call her again.”

“Gabrielle is wonderful! She is wonderfully responsive, kind and caring. She took great care of my precious pets and sent wonderful updates throughout the time. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!”

“Setareh, thank you so much for looking after Cora and Cheri while we were away. You were so kind and thoughtful to them and even though we were away only for a couple of nights, you kept us updated throughout and it was easy to see why the girls loved you so much 💕”

“Deena was very reliable and knowledgeable with my precious cat. Within a day, my shy and timid rescue muffin was purring and head butting and kneading her. Very trustworthy sitter whom I am confident leaving in charge of my baby’s well-being. Thank you!”

“Took amazing care of my cat for a week, gave him massages, tried to teach him to high five, and altivo had a lot of fun with them! These are our go-to-guys and I will always endorse them every chance!”

“We were so lucky to have Svetlana as our cat sitter! She took amazing care of our cat (and our fish) while we were away — sending daily updates, photos, and making sure everything was perfect. Our cat, who is usually shy, clearly felt comfortable and happy with her. We could really relax on our trip knowing she was in such good hands. Highly recommended!”

“Summer was so friendly when she arrived to walk our 2 dogs. When they came back from their walk, she was quick and professional to wrap up. Would definitely hire her again! Thanks Summer!”

About: Not all pet care is created equal and neither are the people providing it. I bring years of hands-on experience working with dogs at every life stage, from puppies as young as 8 weeks old to senior dogs with complex needs. Whether your pup is brand new to the world or slowing down with age, they’re in experienced, knowledgeable hands. As a dog trainer, I understand behaviour and body language at a level most walkers simply don’t. That means I can read your dog, respond to their needs, and keep every outing safe and positive. What I offer that most sitters can’t: • 🎓 Dog Trainer: behaviour-informed care every visit • 🐣 Puppy experience from 8 weeks: gentle, developmental-stage-aware handling • 🐾 Senior dog care: patience, modified pacing, and extra attentiveness • 💊 Medication administration: oral, topical, and more • 🚑 Canine first aid certified: trained to respond calmly in any situation • 📸 Real-time photo updates every visit Your dog isn’t just being watched. They’re being cared for by someone who truly knows dogs. Pet care isn’t something I fit in around other things, it’s the heart of what I do. I structure my days around my clients, which means your pet is never an afterthought. Morning, midday, and evening availability allows me to accommodate a variety of routines and schedules, and I keep my client list intentionally small so every pet receives the time, attention, and care they deserve. I’m available throughout the week and on weekends, with advance booking recommended to secure your preferred times, especially for recurring walks or multi-day care. This is a boutique service by design. Limited spots mean more presence, more consistency, and a better experience for your pet. When I enter your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I give your pet. Every visit begins with a thorough check of the environment, including doors, windows, gates, and any potential hazards, so your pet is secure from the moment I arrive. For walkers and flight-risk dogs, I take extra precautions with leash checks and secure exits before we ever step outside. Your home is left exactly as I found it. I follow your routines, respect your space, and never cut corners because consistency and trust are the foundation of exceptional pet care. What you can always count on: • 🔒 Secure environment check every single visit • 📋 Your pet’s routine followed to the letter • 📸 Photo updates so you have eyes on your pet from anywhere • 🚑 Canine or feline first aid certified. I’m prepared for any situation • 💊 Medication administered safely and on schedule if needed • 🏠 Your home left clean, secure, and exactly as you left it Whether you’re at work, traveling, or simply need a midday check-in, you’ll never have to wonder. You’ll know.

About: I am honoured to have been trusted with the care and custodianship of cherished pets, furry, scaly, and slimey, since I was a young child, which has given me invaluable experience and skill. Whether you need occasional help with walks, feeding, or sitting while you are away, I'm your gal! I've also got lots of exotic pet experience (I have three bunnies myself, and many aquaria) as well as experience caring for diverse houseplants and gardens. I pride myself in meeting the needs of even the most specialized critters, big or small, and look forward to providing the best experience for your pets, especially those that need a little extra love. I will make my schedule work with yours and look forward to talking soon! I am a mechanical engineering student, so my schedule is very flexible. I walk, cycle, and TTC, so no need for parking! I love having the opportunity to integrate furry friends into my routine. I am a seasoned carer for my three buns (dusty, soup, and drosophila), gerbil (miso), leopard gecko (artemis), and have had many hamsters. I maintain several freshwater aquaria with my partner, and have TONS of plants. I will follow your specifications and requests to a tee, and can be contacted on my cell whenever you need. I am also seasoned in housekeeping, should that be a plus!

I couldn't have left my babies in better hands. Sylvain has a truly caring heart, and it showed in every interaction with Carmelo and Sachi. When I came back from my trip, I could immediately see how happy they were and how incredibly well they had been cared for. What impressed me the most was that Sylvain achieved something with them that I hadn't even been able to accomplish while living with them. In my mind, he's the equivalent of a cat whisperer or Mary Poppins for cats! He always kept me updated with multiple photos and detailed reports, even about the smallest things (including their funny little moments). I was amazed by how well he remembered every little detail I told him about my babies, even though I had only mentioned most of them once. Knowing they were in such loving and attentive hands gave me complete peace of mind during my trip. I feel incredibly grateful to have found Sylvain, and I won't hesitate to book with him every time I travel. Thank you, Sylvain, for treating my babies like your own. It truly means the world to me.

Sophie took such good care of Ming during her drop in visits. And Ming really appreciated her company while my husband and I were away on a short trip. Sophie was easy to communicate with, did a great job caring for Ming on time, and left us lovely notes each drop in, reassuring us that our cat Ming was doing well. 💛

Wenwen has been a wonderful pet sitter, she follows thoroughly all instructions that I have given her (and we have a princess cat so we had a lot of it), our cat seems to have loved her and was acting really comfortable around her. During the visits, she’s took the time to share a lot of info on our cat (how she’s been doing, eating, interacting with her etc). She’s super sweet & truth worthy, I can only recommend her to pet sit your babies!

Marianna was a fantastic cat-sitter! She was a great communicator and the cats absolutely loved her - which is a big deal as one of our guys is very shy! We really appreciated Marianna’s updates and the pictures/videos she would send with her daily check-ins. Knowing they were in good hands made being away from them easier. Will definitely try to rebook with Marianna in the future!

Yuanxin does an amazing job with my cat and is super dependable!! If you're in the Old Town Toronto area, I highly recommend booking with her! Fast, reliable, and I've never had any issues getting in contact or receiving adequate updates from her. My cat also responds very well to her and hes a scardy cat!

Meredith took great care of Christopher the cat! She made sure he was well fed and cared for. She noticed that my apartment's AC turned off on a hot day, and made sure to tell me, fix the thermostat, and check in to make sure the temperature had dropped later in the day. She also sent me wonderful pictures of Chris throughout the week.
Fantastic experience from start to finish! She took wonderful care of our cat while we were away for 9 days and gave us complete peace of mind. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about our cat's well-being. We came home to a happy, well cared-for cat and everything exactly as we left it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter. We'll definitely be booking her again!

Shi Ying is an amazing pet sitter! She took wonderful care of my cats and kept my apartment incredibly clean and tidy. She even went above and beyond by vacuuming up the scattered cat litter and remembering to water all of my plants. I came home to very happy cats and a spotless house. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Toronto choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
