“Charlotte was fantastic at stepping in last minute to take care of our kittens while we went away! Lots of pictures and quick responses to any of our messages. Highly recommend!”

“Eric was a fantastic cat sitter for my little guy, Benji. He was responsible, attentive, and clearly experienced with animals. From the start, communication was smooth and professional — Eric kept me updated with regular check-ins and photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that he took the time to understand Benji’s routine and personality. When I returned, everything was just as I’d left it — clean litter box, full water bowls, and most importantly, a very content cat. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Eric again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for dependable, thoughtful care for their pet.”

“We were happy to hire Josh a second time to provide daily visits for our senior cat while away for 1 week. Josh was attentive with his replies, he went above and beyond what was needed in his care of our home and furry family. We would recommend his services and look forward to booking with him again. Thanks Josh!”

“Kendra was fantastic, she looked after our cat wonderfully and kept an eye on our house during her drop-in visits (even watered our plants after a hot/dry spell). Lots of cuddles and play with our furry boy; we will book her again!!”

“First time leaving Nefertiti alone for more than a day and she couldn't be in better care than with Sandie. Sandie sent multiple photo and video updates during each visit and I can tell Nefertiti was comfortable under her care. Thanks again Sandie.”

“Tania is a wonderful sitter, and I felt completely at ease leaving my boy Freddy in her care. She was reliable, communicative, and has a natural way of connecting with animals. She provided numerous regular updates and followed all instructions carefully. Whenever anything came up, she was quick to communicate and very solution- oriented, which I truly appreciated. Freddy was super comfortable with her and clearly well cared for throughout. I truly appreciate her consistency and thoughtful care. I will absolutely be booking Tania again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter.”

“Caroline is new for me and for my puppy Ayla. Caroline is a lovely person who clearly loves animals. We just had our first puppy sitting visit and Caroline was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't ask for more. So engaged with my puppy. I have booked Caroline for a few doggy day care sessions next week and I feel confident it will go well. Stayed tuned for next review.”

“Cyndy was a fantastic cat sitter. I had a great experience. She was very communicative throughout and really came through by taking the booking on short notice, which I appreciated. What stood out most was how respectful she was of my cat’s space. My cat can be a bit standoffish, but Cyndy was patient and intuitive, and managed to build a rapport with her over the course of the visits. That gave me a lot of peace of mind. Overall, everything went smoothly and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.”

“We are so happy with the care and affection Candy gives our cat while we are away. She has taken care of him for a number of our getaways. We keep asking Candy because she is so reliable and responsive. We have peace of mind and always come home to a happy kitty.”

About: Grown up having dogs at home all my life so far. My family and friends would always get me to dog sit their munchkins. I love walking and would love taking those munchkins for walks and have some playtime. Looked after all age group of pups and cats also looked after birds.Personally I simply cannot wait to have a pup of my own once i do settle in. I have always wanted to work for a pet store and did want to pursue carrier as a vet. Reliable, loyal, playful and lots of pampering are few other pointers about me. Back in India, I've not just had pups but also a variety of fish, turtles, birds and some reptiles.k Looking forward on working with you guys and an opportunity on interacting with your puppies. Thank you in advance for giving me an opportunity. I am a freelance Graphic designer so I'm pretty flexible with the days and timings. I usually like to maintain the routine that the pups are used to and follow them accordingly This is where the meet and greet comes in handy.having detailed information about the pup boarding in or coming in for day care helps making their stay/visit more comfortable. If there are more than 2pups involved, I make sure to take permissions from the parents before confirming they stay/visit. Lots of play time indoor, breaks and then walks.
“Sydney was lovely to work with again (this was the second time she cared for my cats while I was away, but I forgot to leave feedback last time). She arrived when she said she would, sent updates, and asked questions when needed. I will book her again next time I am in need!”

Michelle is a fabulous sitter for our playful and energetic orange cat. She is a great communicator who sends the cutest updates of each visit. You can tell she sincerely cares about the pets she sits. She asked lots of great questions when we first booked her, aiming to get to know our kitty and his demeanor as much as possible so that she could give him the care that best suited him. We feel so lucky to have found such a lovely sitter for our cat, allowing us to go away and not worry that he's going to be lonely or bored. We've continued to use Michelle since our initial booking, and will be doing so again many times!

Sarah was amazing with my cat! Usually after a long trip away he is noticeable anxious for the first couple days when I am back, but this was the first time he was completely fine. He’s also very nervous with new people and she made sure to give him the time and space to get comfortable with her. She gave great updates and pictures and let me know of any little changes she saw with him. Communication with her was excellent and very easy. I also appreciated her staying longer when she had the time and I know my cat appreciated the extra time as well!

Ali was fantastic! From our booking, to our meet and greet and finally our booked service days. Start to finish Ali made the whole process easy, worry free and straightforward. Ali was great with communication and gave our cat exceptional care and love! We would highly recommend her service and we look forward to Booking again.

Rachelle took excellent care of our 2 cats while we were on vacation :) Our cats are younger and have lots of energy for playing and Rachelle played with them so much! She also gave them all the cuddles and sent me lots of videos and photos every day. She also didn’t bat an eye at our very specific cat instructions 😹 for example, our cats are used to eating in specific spots in the kitchen and Rachelle made sure to feed them there and put any bowls w/ leftovers in the right spots after. Thank you Rachelle for taking such good care of our cats!

We are a repeat customer for Tara's visits to our Ragdoll cat Freddie and the experience has always been great, giving us ease of mind when away from home. Tara has been prompt and on time, reliable and careful and always providing lots of info and photos!

I hired Alexandra to watch my two cats while away on vacation. She quickly put my mind at ease with her detailed descriptions of her two daily visits. Alexandra took the time to tell me how both cats were feeling/ acting and what exactly she did with them. She was always puntual and sometimes spent extra time with them. My cats are my little family and it was so nice to not have to worry about them and just relax and enjoy my time away. Alexandra is a lovely, caring and responsible person. I will not hesitate to hire her again and highly recommend her.

I would recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and caring cat sitter. Michelle looked after my cat for three weeks while I was away and did an outstanding job. She is very responsive (usually responds within minutes), punctual, as well as personable and a great communicator. She put my mind at ease with daily photos and let me know when I received notices from building management. When a heat wave started in Toronto, she checked in about additional ways to keep the kitty cool. I came home to a happy and relaxed cat!

This was our second time booking Arisa and are just as happy and relieved that we found the perfect person to look after our kitty, Osha. She is an extremely anxious cat and the fact that she remembered Arisa and didn’t shy away or run away speaks volumes! We had so much peace of mind knowing Arisa was taking care of Osha and as usual, we came home to a happy kitty and extremely tidy home. Thanks again Arisa!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East York choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
