“Carol was extremely caring and professional with our cat. She notified us as soon as our cat wasnt acting as usual and helped us find her after she got stuck in the garage. We know we can trust her with our cat always!”

“This was my first time using this service. Zoe did a wonderful job getting to know my dog. She took really good care of her and stayed in touch to set my mind at ease the entire time. Thanks Zoe till next time.”

“Nora saved our family as our cat had a medical emergency the night before we went out of town. She attended every day, administered medication on top of the regular care cats need, and gave Luna love and affection. She was extremely patient as Luna's medical needs fluctuated, and was on top of every new challenge that arose. We are so lucky to have had Nora! Thank you!”

About: I spent 12 years caring for my family cat and learned how to keep pets safe, calm, and happy. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to excellent care. I work full‑time, but I’m available for pet care from Thursday to Saturday and can accept same‑day bookings. On Wednesdays, I’m available after 6 PM. If voluntary time off is available at 3 PM, I can leave work then and arrive shortly after if a client needs care on Wednesday. My dad is allergic, so dogs can’t enter my home. I provide outdoor care with full supervision, using my fenced backyard and dog‑friendly indoor break spots.
“Alysa has been doing drop-ins for my puppy for the past couple of months. She has been reliable and very responsive. I can tell she really enjoys spending time with my dog and truly cares for him. I highly recommend her!”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 14. I'm very reliable, punctual, affectionate and I enjoy the company of dogs at all times I work from home in IT and my job allows me to have lots of down time that I can put to good use walking and sitting dogs. I am available Mondays through Thursdays most of the day but I'm very flexible with my schedule in case some special needs require accomodation. One day in advance will suffice I have experience with all breeds, I'm very active and can adapt to your pet needs and schedules. I focus on one dog at a time
About: Hey fellow animal lovers! My name is Jess and I am a 29-year old woman who recently returned home after traveling abroad and am dealing with the passing of my father. My own kitten Axel has been an invaluable support during this transition period and I know how important pets are to their families. I have a lot of free time right now and I’d love getting the chance via Rover to spend time with your dogs and cats that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to get! In the past, I’ve had very close bonds with my relatives pets, often sitting them for them when needed. I have also done some foster work with dogs and cats at my local shelter when I was going to university so I’m used to taking care of a variety of different and new pets and attuning myself to the needs and wants of each one, including any medical issues or behavioural quirks. I have fostered extra large dogs, been the walker for more than a few puppies in my time, lived with a geriatric cat for the last years of her life, and now take care of my boisterous and cuddly kitten. I am a very active outdoorsy person who loves to go on long walks or hang in the park so I would love to have a furry friend join me on these adventures! I also love a good indoor cuddle session or playtime at home for whatever dog or cat who needs it. I live in Ajax right by Pickering Village/close to the highway and own a car so I can get most anywhere in Durham for your sitting/walking needs. I’m currently unemployed so I am available any day or time for requests! I hope I get the chance to know all of you and your animals soon!! When it comes to your pets, my schedule is wide open and I am free anytime after noon on weekdays for walking/home check-ins, or anytime at all on weekends. For house sitting, I can make your home my base any day of the week and will only need to leave the house for maximum a couple hours each day just to go to the gym on some weekdays. At my own home, I check/clean Axel’s litter box twice a day, feed him dinner at night (an automated feeder takes care of the rest), and make sure to play/cuddle with him for at least an hour every day! When caring for pets in your home, I’m happy to follow whatever guidelines your household may have regarding feeding, litter cleanup, being let out to pee, enrichment time, training, walks, crating, enforcing house rules, you name it!
About: I grew up on a farm with tons of animals in Port Hope🐑! So I have lots of experience with pet care and livestock. I have also been dog walking and pet sitting for 5 years outside of Rover. I’ve cared for many senior dogs, and have a lot of experience with different energy level breeds. (For boarding I will only take small dogs under 40lbs) I’m still in school, but I’m free after 12PM on weekdays, and all day on weekends. Please message me so we can find a schedule that works best for you and your pet :) For pet sitting, I am super detail oriented and personally feed my cat raw, so I can be trusted with home-made food and commercial. As I have a very anxious cat, I prefer to not pet sit at my house.
About: Having dogs and cats at a young age and taking care of them and loving them has inspired and motivated me to take this great opportunity on Rover to care for others with attentiveness, kindness, and patience. My availability is only open to Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays as I am currently busy with another job. I am available on those days from 10 am to 7 pm. In my home I have cared for my pets by walking them regularly, feeding them, and cleaning any messes in the house from any incidents. I do these all with care, love, attentiveness, and patience and strive to give that kind of care to your pets.
About: I like to think I’m basically a part-time pet butler, part-time best friend, and full-time treat dispenser. 🐾 I’m great with puppies who are still figuring out that shoes are not chew toys, and I have lots of patience for senior pets who prefer slow strolls, extra cuddles, and VIP-level care. I’m comfortable with giving medications, sticking to routines, and adjusting to each pet’s unique personality—whether they’re a zoomies champion or a professional couch potato. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel safe, loved, and maybe just a little spoiled while you’re away! Honestly, pet care fits into my routine better than most humans do. 🐾😂 My day happily revolves around walk schedules, feeding times, play breaks, and making sure every pet gets their daily dose of love (and probably a few extra treats). I’m totally fine with early morning potty patrols, midday zoomie supervision, and evening cuddle shifts. Spending time with animals is the best part of my week—they’re cuter, funnier, and way less likely to cancel plans last minute! I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and right at home—whether they’re staying with me or I’m visiting them in their own kingdom. 🐾 My home has a decent-sized fenced backyard that’s perfect for safe playtime, zoomies, and supervised sunbathing sessions. Inside, there’s plenty of cozy space for naps, cuddles, and keeping up with their normal routine. In a client’s home, I stick closely to their feeding schedules, walks, medications, and favorite habits—because I know pets like their routines almost as much as they like treats. My goal is always happy pets, clean spaces, and making sure your furry friend feels spoiled in the best way possible!
About: What sets me apart is the level of attentiveness, structure, and emotional care I bring to every pet. I’m calm, patient, and highly observant, which helps me quickly understand each dog’s routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with puppies (potty routines, basic training reinforcement, leash skills) and senior dogs (gentle handling, medication routines, slower walks, and comfort-focused care). I treat every pet as if they’re my own, with consistency, safety, affection, and respect for their unique needs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life. I work part-time from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. I’m able to accommodate regular walks, feeding routines, potty breaks, playtime, and check-ins, and I can adapt easily to each pet’s unique schedule and needs. I prioritize safety, calm, and trust in every environment. In my home, pets are cared for in a clean, quiet, and secure space with constant supervision, structured routines, and plenty of affection. In clients’ homes, I follow all care instructions closely, maintain consistency in routines, and respect each pet’s habits and comfort zones. I’m attentive to health, behavior, and emotional well-being, and I communicate clearly with owners for peace of mind. My goal is always to create a safe, stress-free, and loving environment where pets feel secure and cared for

Strong communication with photo/video updates, check-ins for complete peace of mind. Reliable, punctual, and flexible—providing customized care plans tailored to each pet’s behavior, temperament, and unique needs. I work from home all days except Tuesday and Thursday, which allows me to provide consistent attention, flexible scheduling, frequent walks, and real-time updates for pets throughout the day. Pets stay comfortably supervised, with plenty of interaction, playtime, and calm companionship integrated naturally into my daily routine. I provide luxurious, personalized pet care in a safe, fully fenced home. “Cassandra was a wonderful sitter for our kitten Maisie while we were on vacation for 2 weeks. She provided terrific updates and photos of all the fun activities that she and Maisie got up to. It was clear that Maisie was very well looked after and I would definitely use Cassandra's services again.”

About: Dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family, and I treat them as such (sometimes better than people!). With a lifetime of experience living with and caring for medium to large-sized dogs, I have a natural knack for connecting with pups of all personalities. I’ve helped train dogs for family and friends, so whether your furry friend needs a little extra guidance or just lots of love, I’ve got it covered. I’m active, playful, and always ready for games, long walks, or snuggle sessions. Dogs seem to sense that I’m a true “dog person”—I’m often the first person a new pup will approach and warm up to. Their happiness, comfort, and wagging tails are always my top priority! As I work from Home, I am able to be with your Dog 24/7 & Regular Pet Care is already a part of my Daily routine. I can and will care for your dogs exactly as you would, it will be like they never left home (perhaps even better!). We have a large, fenced in backyard as well as a large, fenced in dog park (that is hardly used by others) only minutes away. Big or Small, we love them all! If your dog needs to be crated at night, we can definitely accommodate. We will also share pictures and videos with you of your puppers while with us. At the end of the day, we want both you and your dog to have a completely stress-free "vacation" and will do everything possible to insure this.
About: With 15+ years of experience caring for cats, I understand their behavior, boundaries, and individual personalities. I’m patient with shy or anxious cats and attentive to those who need more engagement and play. I’m comfortable administering medications, maintaining spotless litter boxes, and ensuring a clean, low-stress environment. My science background helps me recognize subtle changes in behavior or health, so I can respond early if something seems off. I focus on calm, respectful care—earning your cat’s trust while keeping them comfortable, clean, and well-cared for in your absence. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I’m available nearly full-time—including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings. I structure my schedule around the pets in my care, ensuring they receive consistent attention, timely feeding, play, and any required medications. Because I maintain a flexible schedule, I can accommodate last-minute bookings, extended stays, and visits at times that best suit your pet’s routine—keeping their environment stable and stress-free. I prioritize a calm, clean, and secure environment tailored to each pet’s needs. In a client’s home, I follow your routine closely—feeding schedules, medication, litter or enclosure maintenance, and preferred play styles—to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free. I’m attentive to safety details like secure doors, hazard-free spaces, and proper handling during feeding or medication. I also respect boundaries, especially for shy or rescue animals, and never force interaction. With my experience and science background, I stay alert to subtle behavioral or health changes and act promptly if anything seems off. My goal is to provide consistent, reliable care so your pet feels safe and your home is respected while you’re away.
“Fantastic sitter for our three cats. We will certainly be booking with Sarah again. She gave our old man the love and attention he needed and was able to play with the young kitties to their hearts content! Thank you Sarah!”

About: I am a veterinary assistant at a vet hospital in Durham. I have three amazing French bulldogs of my own! Caring for animals is my passion. I’m working part-time currently and looking for something to do in my spare time and there’s nothing I’d rather do than spend time with furry friends! My home has a fenced in yard and we also have a crate to be safe and spare rooms for the anxious pups and kittys. I have experience with feeding, walking, medicating and washing pets.

Khadija was a fantastic pet sitter for our Pentax! She thoughtfully added water to his wet food to help keep him hydrated during the warmer weather. By the end of her stay, Pentax had really warmed up to her, and it was clear that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We couldn't be happier with the care she provided!

Nora was amazing with Bailey, she sent us pictures of her time with him. This was my first time using the Rover app and honestly won’t be the last. Nora showed such care, professionalism and put my mind at ease, knowing Bailey was well looked after. I highly recommend Nora for your dog sitting needs!

Beth and Margaret were spectacular, treating our home with complete respect. We got daily photos and videos showing playtime with our cat and reassuring us that he was doing just fine during our long trip. We could tell he had been well looked-after, and he was thrilled to see us on our return! I would enthusiastically use Beth and Margaret's service again, and would happily recommend them to anyone needing a similar service.

This is the second time Christina helped us with our 2 kitties while we were away. We are so happy that we chose Christina. She is amazing. Christina is wonderful with our 2 cats, the daily updates are very detailed and give us peace of mind that our kitties are well taken care of.

There are 5,738 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Ajax. About 87% of Ajax sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Ajax stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ajax choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
