About: Having dogs and cats at a young age and taking care of them and loving them has inspired and motivated me to take this great opportunity on Rover to care for others with attentiveness, kindness, and patience. My availability is only open to Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays as I am currently busy with another job. I am available on those days from 10 am to 7 pm. In my home I have cared for my pets by walking them regularly, feeding them, and cleaning any messes in the house from any incidents. I do these all with care, love, attentiveness, and patience and strive to give that kind of care to your pets.
“Nora is awesome. She agreed to help me for sitting my dog at my home at a very short notice. She is a very caring, patient person and pays close attention to instructions. I’d engage her services again”

“Zoe was such a great companion for my dog. She was attentive to Zena’s high needs and communicated every step of the way! Zoe made me feel comfortable and at ease being away from my dog. I will definitely book her again!”

About: Since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a special bond with animals. I grew up caring for two Yorkies who were my whole world - I helped raise them from playful puppies to their senior years, giving them all the love, care, and comfort they needed as they aged. I now have a Maltese Poodle named Maddie! She loves to people watch and eat bananas 😋 I’ve also cared for animals like cats, fish, and even birds, I am currently a student at University of Toronto, on my way to become a Veterinarian. Animals naturally cling to me, and I truly believe they sense how much I love and understand them. I treat every pet like family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine because spending time with animals is something I truly enjoy and prioritize. I’m available any day of the week and can adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs - whether it’s morning walks, afternoon check-ins, or evening cuddle time. As a student and aspiring veterinarian, caring for animals is a big part of my life already, and I make sure every pet I care for gets my full attention, love, and consistency. When caring for pets - whether in my home or yours -safety, comfort, and trust are my top priorities. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality, routine, and needs so they feel secure and at ease. I always follow feeding schedules, walk times, and any special instructions exactly as given. In your home, I make sure to respect your space and maintain a calm, clean environment that your pet is familiar with. If your pet is with me, they’ll have a safe, pet-friendly space to relax, play, and receive all the love and attention they need. I’m very mindful of things like open doors, secure leashes, and keeping harmful items out of reach. Whether your pet needs quiet companionship or active play, I’m there to create a safe, loving environment they can thrive in.

About: My sons and I bring a wealth of experience and a deep love for pets. They’ve helped care for their dad’s German Shepherd, and we also raised our own beloved dachshund named Marshall, who lived to be 17 years old. As he got older, my sons were especially gentle, taking him on slow, easy walks to keep him comfortable. Our home is filled with kindness, attentiveness, and care, and your dog will be welcomed into a loving family environment with me and my two sons, aged 10 and 14. I’m currently available any day or night of the week. I can take your dog out for walks by the water in the morning and evening, and my sons can provide additional walks in the neighbourhood. I’m happy to accommodate dog-sitting or walking needs with advance notice. Whether you need regular weekend care or occasional support, I’ll make sure your pet gets the attention they need! Our home is a safe, loving environment, perfect for pets who need a little extra comfort while their owners are away. We have a secure, fenced yard where your dog can safely enjoy fresh air and playtime. If crating is part of their routine, I’m happy to help—just bring along their crate. My two sons and I will be here to give your dog lots of companionship and play, so they’ll never feel alone or anxious. We’re a family that’s kind, gentle, and dedicated to making pets feel understood, loved, and right at home.
“Sydney helped us out in a pinch with some dog walks. She came to do a meet & greet beforehand and understood our dogs needs. Super communicative and punctual. I won’t hesitate to book Sydney again! Thank you!”

About: I spent 12 years caring for my family cat and learned how to keep pets safe, calm, and happy. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to excellent care. I work full‑time, but I’m available for pet care from Thursday to Saturday and can accept same‑day bookings. On Wednesdays, I’m available after 6 PM. If voluntary time off is available at 3 PM, I can leave work then and arrive shortly after if a client needs care on Wednesday. My dad is allergic, so dogs can’t enter my home. I provide outdoor care with full supervision, using my fenced backyard and dog‑friendly indoor break spots.
“Ashley is great and punctual, she genuinely cares about our dog’s well-being. Our dog had a great walk and returned home happy and exhausted. She provided excellent communication, sending updates and photos. Thank you for your great service and care with our dog.”

About: I aspire to make sure our pets receive the love and care they deserve. I have been taking care of pets since I was an early teen and enjoy going on walks with them and make sure that they are never bored while their family is away. I just finished getting my bachelors in landscape architecture from the University of Guelph and would like to exercise my free will and start engaging with animals as frequently as I can. I go on walks daily with my dog and think it would be so much fun to bring another buddy along with her. I will ensure that your pet(s) is feeling right at home and mimic the routine you best prefer for your animal, as well as provide enough attention and activity for health benefits.

“Hannah took my request for dog walking at the last minute when my work schedule changed. Hannah responded very quickly and offered to call if that was easier for me at work. Hannah was great with my puppy, Anakin. He is four months old and has only been with me for a few weeks - so he has a touch of separation anxiety. Hannah was flexible and allowed my brother to support Anakin as he was struggling to start the walk with a stranger. This was not planned so it is extra appreciated. My brother said she was absolutely wonderful with Anakin. She handles puppies like a pro! I will definitely be seeking Hannah’s services again. Thank you, Hannah!”

Stacey was fantastic with our dog, Chloe! She did a meet and greet with us on Monday and walked Chloe from Monday through Wednesday. Stacey was friendly and professional. She did a great job getting her ready for her walk Monday even though Chloe was VERY excited and energetic to meet her. We really appreciated the updates and photos through the Rover app—it was clear Chloe was having a great time on her walks. Communication was excellent, and we couldn’t be happier with the care Stacey provided.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ajax choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 83% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
