About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My experience began with my childhood cat, Uncle Shay, and later grew through caring for Maya, a Basset Hound and Rottweiler mix, and Fred, a Rottweiler. Over the years I've learned that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and way of communicating, and taking the time to understand those differences is one of the most important parts of providing great care. 've been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. My experience began with my childhood cat, Uncle Shay, and continued with two wonderful dogs, Maya, a Basset Hound and Rottweiler mix, and Fred, a Rottweiler. Growing up with them taught me that every pet has their own personality, routine, and way of communicating, and that the best care starts with taking the time to understand them as individuals. Outside of Rover, I'm a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, where responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail are part of everyday life. I'm also building a veterinary-related business, which has given me an even deeper appreciation for preventative care, client communication, and creating a safe, low-stress experience for every pet. One thing that sets me apart is my approach before a booking even begins. Every new client receives a structured meet-and-greet where I learn about your dog's routine, personality, medications, behavioural triggers, emergency contacts, favourite activities, feeding schedule, and any special instructions. Rather than providing one-size-fits-all care, I tailor every visit to your pet's individual needs so they feel comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible. Whether I'm taking your dog for a walk or caring for them while you're away, my goal is simple: to treat them with the same care and attention I'd want for my own pets. I'm based near Yonge & Finch and primarily serve North York and neighbourhoods along Toronto's Line 1 subway, including: • Willowdale • North York Centre • Newtonbrook • Lansing • Yonge & Sheppard • York Mills • Lawrence Park • Yonge & Eglinton • Davisville • Midtown Toronto • St. Clair • Summerhill • Rosedale • Yorkville • The Annex • Downtown Toronto If you're outside these neighbourhoods, feel free to reach out. Depending on my schedule, I'm often able to accommodate other areas as well. My schedule is flexible with advance notice, allowing me to accommodate both daytime and evening bookings throughout most of the week. I work part time on my veterinary business, giving me flexibility to provide dependable pet care around my existing commitments. I'm generally available during the day and evenings, with the exception of Thursday evenings. Your pet's safety, comfort, and wellbeing always come first. Before every booking, I take time to understand your pet's daily routine, medical history, medications, exercise needs, favourite activities, behavioural tendencies, and any special instructions. I also review leash routines, home access, emergency contacts, and safety considerations so every visit goes as smoothly as possible. During walks and visits, I provide constant supervision, use positive reinforcement, carefully secure doors, gates, and leashes, and follow your instructions closely. I pay attention to details that can make a big difference, from monitoring weather conditions and avoiding hazards to recognizing changes in behaviour or energy levels. You'll receive regular updates, photos, and messages throughout each visit so you always know how your pet is doing. I believe consistency creates confidence, so I work hard to keep your pet's routine as familiar and stress-free as possible while you're away.
“Madeleine was absolutely wonderful with our dogs! She took exceptional care of them and went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, comfortable, and well looked after. When one of our dogs had an upset tummy and anxiety, Madeleine stayed with them to make sure they were alright and waited for us to return home rather than simply leaving as planned. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring and attentive hands. We truly appreciate her thoughtfulness, compassion, and dedication, and we would happily recommend Madeleine to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pets!”

About: Got my first family dog in 2020, a rescue with some baggage who quickly warmed up to every one and every thing around him. Currently have a cute a cuddly 3 year old miniature dachshund of my own, and looking to fill my summer off with some other fur friends! I’m a teacher with the summer off, so I have plenty of free time on my hands to check-in on dogs, as well as take them for a stroll! I live in a condo with a grass patch out front, so I take my dog outside every couple hours to potty and get his sniffs in. I usually take him for 2-3 walks a day, on top of his bathroom breaks.

You're already taking a big leap of faith to entrust your dogs and cats to us, so it's important to us that we only take 1 client at a time in order to provide the best care possible. Rest assured that they will receive undivided love and attention in a quiet & calm environment where they can relax and thrive. We work from home and can provide round-the-clock supervision. There is usually at least 1 of us home, and if not, we're not usually gone for more than 4 hours at a time. We only take 1 client at a time, so privacy, safety, and space won't be an issue. Your dog will also be welcome to roam our large fenced backyard. There's no off-limits space in the house, except our bed.

“Patty is great! We had to leave for a week and she took great care of our cat! Not only that but she also took care of our house and stuff, I felt very safe and comfortable with her service. She followed all the rules and was professional. Strongly recommend!!!”

“Dilara was absolutely amazing with my finicky and shy cat, Ivan. Honestly, she did a better job with his litter and food than I do! He warmed up to her quickly and was soon literally eating out of her hand 🙂. She was also incredibly kind to my elderly mother who was home but unable to perform all the cat-care duties. My mom loved Dilara and so did Ivan and I. I highly recommend her, she is kind, caring and very responsible.”

“I don’t have enough words to describe how wonderful Alaia is. Alaia looked after our cat for a 10 day period and went above and beyond in every way. She often stayed longer than the scheduled visit time to keep our cat company. Her care, kindness, and attention to detail gave us such peace of mind, and her daily report and beautiful pictures were such a joy to receive! We’re so grateful to have found Alaia - our shy cat is totally bonded with her!”

“Jane and her mom helped us take care of our cat Adel while we were away for almost a week. They were very attentive, punctual and neat. Can't thank them enough, and Adel is looking forward to seeing them again.”

Hannah was so delightful! Took such good care of our boy Ruso and kept us updated with photos. She even blew out our candles before we came back and put him in the crate. She tidied up our dog’s toys too. She is very friendly and we will definitely ask her to mind Ruso again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
