“Oliver stayed with Cynara for doggie day care and he had the best time with her! I know Oliver felt at home with Cynara during his stay, thanks to her foresight in having a home meet-and-greet. We received loads of updates during Oliver’s stay. Cynara followed his routine and we came back to tired but happy puppy. I know Oliver will be back to stay with her, so we highly recommend Cynara for doggie day care + boarding!”

“This was a great experience for my miniature Dachshund Phoebe and a learning experience for me. Ivan has a way with dogs that goes well beyond the standard pet sitting experience. Being a “covid puppy” lead to some socialization issues we’re now thankfully on the path to correcting. I’m impressed with the results after just one session.”

“Joanna (Ang) and Hillary were super attentive to my pup Morty - they sent lots of photos of them playing and cuddling, it was really great to see! They also had the pee pads, dog bed, treats handy which was really nice - I only needed to provide the leash which is a given, and I appreciated them letting us up as well to see how Morty settles in before leaving him with them. Morty was in great hands, and we can trust Joanna and Hillary to do a great job future sitting needs.”

“My dog Laon always has a great time with Rachel! She is so kind and pleasant to work with 💕 I have been sending my dog to her for more than a year and she is always so consistent - fast on responses and caring about pets !! Highly recommend her for anyone who's looking for a dog sitter in mid- town area!”

“Diana was absolutely amazing, she kept me updated on my dog, sent photos, videos and batherd her feet after a long walk. She's incredible and I absolutely recommend booking with her 😊”

“Rong was lovely! She took very good care of George. She was flexible and responsive. She sent me lota of photos and walked him. Very good experience all round. Highly recommend.”

“Say and Dibyendu were fantastic with my senior boy. They were both extremely welcoming to Snax and made sure that he was treated with the utmost care and love during his visits with them. The last time I went to pick him up, he was so excited that we were all together and he didn’t want to leave their place. I can’t wait until he gets to spend time with them again.”

“Gabrielle took such great care of Negi while we were away! She gave him so much attention and love, and it made such a difference knowing he was being cared for so thoughtfully. I also loved that her family was home and spent time playing with him too! I’d absolutely trust Gabrielle with Negi again and highly recommend her ☺️”

“Veronica is a class act! She was great with my dog and gave lots of updates throughout the day. This was a last minute booking and Veronica was great about asking for details before the days she was with my dog so she would be prepared. I mixed up something - completely my fault- and Veronica was understanding and accommodating. I highly recommend her.”

“Shayna loves staying with Cel & Julie! She always has a great time and comes home happy. Thru always make sure she is happy and relaxed and it really shows in her photos. Thank you for another great daycare stay.”

“This is the second time Maria and Mirands took care of Benjamin. Benjamin loved playing with Miranda and I felt very comfortable with the continuous updates from Maria. Thank you a lot for helping me while we were away.”

“Great experience leaving our golden doodle with Farhaan. He was great to communicate with and our dog seemed to be right at home in his care. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl :)”

“Angel and Ken did a wonderful job taking care of my dog Dorca while I was at work. Drop off and pickup were nice and easy and they kept me updated with pictures. Dorca was excited about the recent snow and has been more active than usual, however Angel and Ken must have played with him quite a bit because I picked up a tired and happy dog at the end of the day. I hope to leave Dorca with them again in the future.”

“Isabella was a fantastic dog sitter. She asked a lot of questions before the day care, to ensure MissTea has a good stay with them. Very responsive to messages and shared a lot of photos as well. Will definitely reach out to her again for Misstea, whenever needed”

“My dog always has the best time with Arya! She has been truly my go-to person on Rover whenever I need to find a daycare for my dog. She really understands what my dog likes, how he behaves, and everything. It is such a blessing to have found someone like her !!! Always appreciate her so much ❤️”

“This was our first time using Rover and I couldn't be happier with Daniel and family's excellent and loving care for Lola! I will definitely come back for future dog-sitting needs!! Thank you so much!”

“Sneha went above and beyond to take care our goldendoodle. We are grateful for her help and Riley was well taken care of! She also provided updates and photos. Thank you Sneha!”

“She was caring and thoughtful, and calm. Right away I was impressed that she took the time to read her profile before agreeing and asking if there are any things to be mindful of and what dogs mine is comfy with. I really appreciated how she walked Lola and treated her well and took the time to read my dog's profile and watch to prevent pancreatitis. She sent regular photos and was so easy to communicate with. My dog was happy and healthy coming home. I really appreciated knowing she was taking just one dog at a time.”

“Maria was fantastic. From the moment I reached out, she was eager to meet, and it was incredibly convenient that we live just a few steps away. Nymeria and Luke seemed completely at ease with her; it was my first time leaving them with someone new, so I was a bit unsure of how they'd react. Maria sent frequent updates, which gave me real peace of mind. She proved to be trustworthy, and I’ll definitely consider her for future needs.”

Natasha is fantastic! Very kind and personable and our pup clearly loves her! She makes sure she has all the info she needs, sends updates through out the day, and give lots of walks and playtime. Cosmo always comes home happy and well exercised. Highly recommend!

I can’t recommend Laura and Daniel enough! From the moment we met them, they were kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making Junior feel comfortable. Junior is incredibly special to me, so finding someone I trust hasn’t been easy. They were both patient, attentive, and kept me updated throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that they treated him like one of their own. They took the time to understand his routine, and I could tell he was well cared for and happy. Knowing I have reliable sitters I can count on means the world to me. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of my little guy. I’m so grateful we found you, and I look forward to booking with you again!

Gloria was conscientious, kind and professional. We arranged a meet and greet before our scheduled dog sitting booking. She was punctual and asked many great questions to ensure she was prepared. On the day of our dog sitting, she was communicative and I knew I could trust Scout in her care. Pickup was easy and she provided great feedback.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Toronto commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
