“Barb has been fantastic with Dawson. She is so thoughtful in making sure Dawson enjoys his visits with her playing with her various basket of toys! ... Dawson even fetched for Barb ... which he rarely does for me! Lol! Barb even went out of her way to celebrate Dawson's birthday! Barb has exceeded my expectations with all her care for Dawson, updates confirming her upcoming visits and report cards with photos of her visits.”

About: I’ve cared for pets of many different species from large and small dogs to cats, bunnies, and fish since I was 10 years old. Because of this, I'm comfortable with handling different temperaments, routines, and specialized care needs! While I love pets of all shapes and sizes, I have more experience with larger breeds, but I thrive with low to medium energy dogs. That said, I grew up with a Doberman, a Belgian Malinois, and a French Mastiff. I am very familiar with both high-drive breeds and gentle giants. I actually formed the strongest bond with my French Mastiff over our shared love of sleeping! As I’m not in school at the moment I currently have an open and highly flexible schedule, I can adapt to your pet's routine and needs. My main commitment outside of pet sitting is caring for my own pets at home, my cat and three bunnies! Because my time is so flexible, I can offer dedicated time, attentive care, and flexible drop-in or sitting hours. I prioritize communication, safety, and respect for your home! I’ll send frequent photo and video updates so you know your pet is thriving. Before any booking, I make sure to write down all key details, including your pet's routine, feeding instructions, emergency contacts, and household rules so everything runs smoothly!
“Jocelyn was an absolute pleasure to work with and took incredible care of our 3 cats! She went above and beyond in following our instructions and showing our babies some affection and playtime 💕 She was communicative, reliable, and a professional at administering medication to our senior cat, while also managing with our kitten who has more energy. I can’t recommend her enough and look forward to hiring her again!”

“Sheila took wonderful care of Bimini and Pip while I was away for 2 weeks. She followed instructions carefully and both cats seemed to have warmed to her quickly. Her daily updates and photos were so appreciated.”

“Dokyung was absolutely amazing with my kitty!! She sent so many pictures and videos and took great care of him. I’d never left my kitty alone this long and was worried how he’d cope but she was as so attentive, kept me informed, and made sure he had an excellent time. Will definitely be booking her again!”

“Yvonne has become such an important part of our kitty crew’s wellbeing. Whenever we travel, we can relax knowing she is providing consistent, dependable, and genuinely loving care. She treats our cats like her own—keeping them comfortable, happy, and on routine—and we are so grateful to have her as part of their little world.”

“Riley has been an amazing help with my small families life changes. She's flexible, punctual, and great at assisting using this app for us less tech savvy. Clearly has a big heart for the furry ones. Provides lots of details with pics every visit. I would recommend to anyone!”

“Daniela was a true dog whisperer! Our dog Charlie barks a lot and does not do well with change but he was great with Daniela and even settled with her after only a few visits. Daniela came to meet Charlie before the set date and connected with Charlie, explained the process to us and made sure she understood the essentials about Charlie. We were able to take comfort in knowing Charlie was in great capable hands. Daniela was prompt with each visit and left us detailed notes and pictures for every encounter. We came home to one happy dog!”

About: I’ve had cats since I was a child . I’ve dog sat for friends in the past . It’s such a joy and a pleasure to have animals around and to care for them . My 10 year old is with part time. She loves pets. She’s very mature, kind, and respectful with them. She will be with me when I’m taking your dog out for a walk. But I will be holding the leash. I have a fenced in yard where I’m living no other pets . I care about animals like they are my own . And do my best to make sure they feel safe and loved and give them my time and attention.
“Kirstyn took excellent care of our two cats while we were on vacation. Not only did she feed them and take care of the litter, she also gave them lots of love. We looked forward to her daily updates. Thank you Kirstyn!!”

About: Hi, we’re Jenn & Kevin! 🐾 🐶 We’re lifelong dog lovers with over 20 years of experience caring for our own pups. We know how important it is to find someone you trust with your dog — someone who will treat them like family. That’s exactly the kind of care we offer. You can rest assured your pet will be well taken care of, safe, and having a fantastic time! We specialize in small dog sitting in our home in Dundas and offer dog walking for dogs of all sizes. Our cozy detached home is in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood and features a fully fenced yard, perfect for playtime and relaxing outdoor time. Jenn is available for weekday walks or drop ins, and we offer dog sitting at our home (just check our availability!). When we’re sitting, we only welcome one dog at a time to ensure your pup gets plenty of attention and one-on-one care. We also provide walks every two hours to keep them happy and active. Safety is always our top priority. We always do a meet & greet before every stay to make sure your dog is comfortable with us, our kids, and our home. Our dog Berkley has passed away after a long and happy life, so there are no other dogs in the household currently. Dogs are always leashed on walks outside our fenced yard, and we’ll follow any care instructions you provide — down to the last detail. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to chat! 🦮 New to Rover? Let us know and you can get $20 off your first booking. We look forward to meeting you and your pup! Jenn is currently a stay at home mom, with kids in school and has availability from 9am - 3pm and some evenings during the week for dog walking or visits. We’re also available evenings and weekends for dog boarding. Depending on her availability, and your needs we’ll work together to find a suitable time - whether you need to cover off a vacation, or a regular daily walk. We place a strong emphasis on safety for your dog, ensuring that they will be comfortable and well cared or during our walks, visits or boarding. For first time clients, we will arrange a meet and greet so we can meet your dog and get a feel for their personality and comfort level. Daily updates and photos will be provided so that you have peace of mind.
“Julia took care of our three cats for a week. We appreciated the pics from each visit (despite one cat being too shy to ever make himself known.) We look forward to Julia caring after our cats again in the future.”

“Arjun took amazing care of our dog while we were away. He went above and beyond with his communication with us which made us feel secure knowing that our dog was well cared for. We will 100% be using Arjun again in the future”

About: I've always loved dogs. Each one if my family members now has their own, including mine, Kira. I worked at the Canadian Kennel Club and I attended McMaster University to attempt my PhD (didn't work out). A dog is a great way to get out for a few minutes and forget about the stresses of life, and the affection they can return is unparalleled. I hope to get a few regulars and get to know your friends as well as you do. If you have an active dog, I love going for runs with mine. We'll start with walks first though. I'm near some great trails to go on hikes, or there's a cemetery across the street for nice casual walks. Either I'm home to care for my own dog, or I make regular trips home from Mac. I wouldn't leave a strange dog home alone, though. Most of my work can be done remotely and walks work as nice breaks. Regular walks since I live in an apartment. Air conditioned for the summer. Check water. Clean up messes. Make sure there's nothing they can or want to get into that they shouldn't. Play games. Training. Treats.
“Amber recently came to check in on our cat while we were away. She provided daily communication and pictures which we so appreciated. We’ll definitely book with Amber again in the future!”

About: I’m an Animal Care Attendant at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA with years of professional experience working with dogs and cats. I’m well-versed in medicating, handling, and understanding animal behavior, and I’ve loved animals my entire life. I’ve studied dog behavior and training, and I treat every dog I meet as if they were my own. My goal is to make your pup feel comfortable, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, responsible, and always excited to build relationships with new dogs. In my free time, I love training my own dog in off-leash reliability, obedience, and agility—it’s one of my favorite ways to connect and grow with animals. I’m also a marathoner and long distance runner and would love to run and tire out some super high energy dogs! I am also knowledgeable in canine first aid and basic grooming and bathing. I’m currently a graduate student, working part time at the HBSPCA. I would love to create meaningful relationships and provide your dog(s) with enrichment throughout the week! I have a dog of my own and enjoy daily hikes with him. He is a goofy, high energy golden retriever. I have experience with all types of walking aids such as head halters, harnesses, prong collars, e-collars, etc. I’m also able to give updates and photos during the walk! I can provide structured walks, enrichment walks or long-line fun. Let me know your preferences! I also provide in home pet care upon request so your pup is comfortable when you’re away!:)

Holly was great with my two cats during her drop-in visits! They’re usually pretty shy around new people, but they came out to greet her quickly. She was communicative and kept me updated, and I was confident they were being well taken care of. I came home to peaceful happy cats after my time away. I’d definitely book with her again!

Marisa was absolutely wonderful with our two fur babies while we were away on vacation. Thanks to her, we were completely tension free the entire time. She is incredibly kind, caring , and truly amazing with pets. Marisa has a warm, and attentive attitude, and communication with her was always easy and reassuring. We felt confident leaving our pets in her loving hands. We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ancaster choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
