About: I am a long-time pet lover and owner! I've had large and small dogs along with cats over my life. I had a large dog (Rottweiler 98lbs) with aggression issues, so I'm not put off by a little attitude from your pet. Every animal has its own personality just like humans. I am certified in Canine First Aid and have Dog Behaviour (basic), Dog to Dog Aggression, Canine Separation Anxiety, Daycare & Group Play Assessment and Dog Walking Certification course training. I lost my pet recently from cancer and am not ready to readopt yet. I promise I will love and care for your pet as my own. I promise to be very respectful and tidy while in/around your home. I feel that communication is very important while pet parents are away, so I like to give updates and photos of our adventures. I am Oakville born and raised. I went to St.Mildred's & OTHS then studied at George Brown College. I live in Old Oakville. I am an activist on animal rights and do what I can to help ALL animals. You may find me at a protest or rally fighting for the rights of all animals on the weekends. I am very close with my family so don't be surprised if you see my folks at the house hanging out. I grew up in an animal house and my folks love animals also but don't have any pets right now either. I would love a chance to meet you and your pet family! I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you :) I am a pet sitting Professional!! That's what I do!! I take care and love your pet like it was my own. I prefer to keep the dogs with me during the day if I can and they usually love the little adventures. I also have a car so we can go to a mix of parks. I live at a house with my parents with nice little yard and a park right out front. This makes it easy for quick walk and lots of good smell to keep the dog cognitive arousal fulfilled. There is an abundance of parks around me.
“Melissa did a great job walking Maverick! She made sure to update me on how the walk was going and even had some cute pictures taken during the walk. Maverick is normally very picky with new people walking him but he felt very comfortable walking with Melissa which shows that he felt safe with her. I definitely will be booking again when needed and highly recommend Melissa as a dog walker!”

“Meghan was great. She was punctual, and took great care to provide updates. She was very accommodating of some last minute schedule changes. In the midst of a heat wave with horrible air quality, she was sure to give my puppy lots of breaks and water. I will absolutely be rebooking.”

About: Most of my pet care experiences are from owning lizard and fishes. But 5 months ago, I started dog walking and I recently adopted a cat and I realized how much I enjoyed being around furry friends ✨️😊 Since it's my summer break from college, I would love to use this as opportunity to enjoy my summer break with furry friends while earning money. When I'm walking my dog client, I make sure he gets his exercise by playing catch, walking, playing with other dogs, exploring, and I make sure to keep him safe. I make sure my cat at home also gets his playtime with me, make sure his bowls are cleaned every time I refill his bowl for food and water 😊

“Kate was extremely responsive when we were looking for a last minute walk for our two Labs. Kate was flexible too when we asked to add another walk even more last minute because we would be gone longer than we thought. Kate was very kind during the meet and greet and asked questions. The dogs loved their walks with Kate and seemed to have gotten a lot of exercise! We really appreciate it!!!”

About: Love dogs and animals of all kinds and happy to provide walking and sitting services. Available early mornings, afternoons, and evenings on weekdays and weekends. I walk my dog every morning from 7:30 am, as well as afternoon, and evening. Can easily accommodate your pet so that they can get outside. I have a large fully fenced in yard with no openings for animals to get out or get in. I’m home throughout the day so your pet will not be left alone.
About: I’ve had pets of all kinds since I was 5 years old. I currently have an 11 year old English Bulldog that I adopted from the shelter 6 months ago and love dearly. I am excited to begin my education in animal care (ACA) this year and ultimately join the team at the Humane Society. I have previous experience as a dog walker and am comfortable with dogs of all temperaments. Whether friendly and care-free, or nervous and reactive, I love all dogs and getting to know all sorts of personalities. I am currently a manager in the hospitality industry but will be leaving to pursue an education and career in animal care. My studies are 50% in class and 50% virtual so that allows me much flexibility for dog walking and sitting. I’m also in the process of virtually volunteering with a rescue on Texas as an animal adoption co-ordinator, which is fulfilling work in my free free time. I care for all animals like they were my own. I am a responsible, truste, experienced house, pet and babysitter. I enjoy cleaning and organization so you can trust me to keep your home just as tidy as you left it and your pets healthy, happy and groomed!
“I was in a bit of a last minute bind, and Mike really helped me out with his walks. Milo adores him, and he can be prickly with some men. He's excited when he hears Mike come down the hallway, and I always get cute pictures with little stories to tell me about his adventures. I absolutely recommend Mike if you need someone to care for your pup.”

“Brittany is amazing! She’s such a kind person, always punctual, communicative and so good with my fur baby. Would hands down recommend her to anyone interested in her services.”
“I highly recommend Elizabeth as your dog walker. She is reliable, sends photos, and shows true care for your pet. I know my dog loved her two visits and walks from Elizabeth today. I will definitely have her back again.”

“My dog is always so excited to see Heather when she comes to take her for a walk. Heather is very reliable and always communicates with texts and photos. It is cute to see the photos she takes of Takoda on their walks. She often spends extra play time after their walk which I know Takoda really loves.”

About: I have taken care of cats and dogs since I was a kid. Me and my biologist cousin used to rescue dogs and cats that lived around our camp house back in my hometown. I am a really active person and love going for runs and hikes. My best friends for this have been dogs that want to get their energy out as much as I do. I believe all pets are different and appreciate owner communication to get to know your pet better! Excited to meet you! I’m currently a full-time teacher so my weekday schedule goes until 4pm. However I will go into summer vacation soon along with my student so I’ll have much more availability during that time. For now, weekends are my to go but any late afternoon weekday visits are welcome. I love having a detailed description of the pets I’m going to take care of beforehand. Are they afraid of something specific? Do they have dietary restrictions? Do they have any medical conditions? I carry my own equipment for walking and giving dogs a drink (I appreciate if they have favourite treats we can bring along for long walks!)

“Chyna is great, I had her walk my dog almost every day while I was away on a trip to get his energy out while other people were watching him, I had great peace of mind knowing that he would be safe and have a great time with her, she made the process very easy and was very self sufficient given I was out of the country and unable to answer messages quickly. We will continue to book with Chyna, she did a great job, and will recommend her to anyone!”

Guangxu is a great sitter. He takes his time to walk Luffy and allows him to sniff and enjoy the weather even if he ends up going past their 30 minute walk. I like that he cleans Luffys bum and paws after their walks as his paws are sensitive to outdoor allergens. Thank you!

Gokce was amazing. She was very communicative, keeping us informed of any issues that arose with our dogs while we were away. The dogs quickly took to Gokce which gave us the required calm to go away and leave our beloved pets in the hands of a highly competent provider. We would love to use Gokce again!

I’m so grateful for the care and attention my dog received. Julia did a fantastic job—reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring. I could tell my dog was happy and well looked after, which gave me real peace of mind. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dedicated dog walker.

Alicia has a lovely personality and that works well with my dog. She is punctual and true to her word - never cancels at the last minute etc. Additionally, she does her very best to accommodate my schedule, even though hers is so booked up. Sage is a fan and so are we!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oakville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
