About: Hi my name is Marina! I’m currently a university student who is studying education I want to become a teacher and I have a love for animals and the outdoors! I have experience with both dog walking and dog sitting, including going over on certain days to let family and friends’ dogs out, feed them, and spend time with them. I am comfortable dog sitting in other people’s homes and always make sure to respect the space and routines. I am very good at learning and following each animal’s schedule, including feeding times, walks, medication if needed, and any specific care instructions. I take time to understand each dog’s personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I already spend a lot of time with animals in my daily life. I enjoy being active, going for walks, and spending time outdoors, so taking dogs out or caring for pets feels like a natural extension of my day. I also spend time with my own pets, playing with them, keeping them company, and making sure they are comfortable and happy. I am a university student going into my 5th of 6 years for teaching, so I am used to balancing responsibilities and managing my time well. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for in my routine. I care deeply about the safety and well-being of animals and always do a check-in when I arrive to make sure they have everything they need. I ensure food and water are refilled, they have access to toys and comfort, and that their basic needs are met. For dogs, I make sure they are let outside for bathroom breaks and exercise, and for cats, I clean and scoop the litter box as needed. I also take time to give attention, affection, and cuddles so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away.

About: IG: Lady.rav Dogs are my happy place — I’ve always felt at home around them. I’ve owned four German Shepherds, all rescues, and have done a mix of personal and professional training with them (including one with dog aggression). Those experiences taught me how to understand dogs deeply, from their body language to the way they respond to human energy. I’m active, love hiking, and think everything is more fun with a four‑legged friend beside me. Dogs usually settle quickly around me and feel comfortable, which makes walks, playtime, and downtime easy and enjoyable. Whether your pup needs exercise, company, or calm structure, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, understood, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m currently building my consulting business, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility during the week to focus on caring for furry loved ones. On weekends, I volunteer helping abuse survivors move into safe housing during the day, so my evenings remain open and available for walks, drop‑ins, and overnight care. My schedule allows me to be consistently present, reliable, and attentive to each dog’s needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your routines closely so your dog feels safe and comfortable. I’m respectful of your space, keep things tidy, and pay close attention to your pet’s body language and needs. I double‑check doors, gates, and safety details, and keep communication open so you always know how your pup is doing. My goal is a calm, secure environment where your dog can relax and you can feel confident while you’re away.

So happy with Vicky. Let me know when she arrived, and sent video of showing our front door was locked. The map where she walked with Ellie was great as were her comments about each walk (nice knowing how many poops & pees Ellie had). Vicky is so friendly and you can tell she loves and cares for all the dogs under her care. I will not hesitate to use Vicky for dog walking in the future.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and have been caring for them since I was about 10 years old. Even before having my own dog, I regularly helped by walking neighborhood dogs of all sizes. One of those was a Rottweiler who had some behavioral challenges with strangers but bonded well with me, and I was trusted to walk him regularly when other walkers had difficulty. I’ve often been told I have a calm, reassuring energy that dogs seem to respond to naturally. Over the years, I’ve had hands-on experience with dogs of many breeds, sizes, and personalities, including rescues and foster dogs. I’ve also helped a close friend who worked with the SPCA by assisting with dog transport, including last-minute and emergency placements to and from foster homes. My first personal dog was a Husky–Malamute mix named Cody, whom I adopted from the SPCA at around 3–4 years old. He came with some challenges due to his previous living situation, but with consistency, patience, and an environment better suited to his needs, he became a wonderful companion. He was great with kids, cats, and other animals and lived a long, happy life into his senior years. I’ve also fostered a Pit Bull mix for several months until she found her forever home. In a previous chapter of my life, I shared a home with a German Shepherd and a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix, and caring for them gave me a deeper appreciation for structure, routine, and clear communication — especially with intelligent, energetic dogs. While I’m not a trainer, I’ve always taken the time to work with my dogs in a patient, consistent way to help them feel secure and well-mannered. Currently, I have a young German Shepherd / Black Mouth Cur mix who is my daily companion. We focus on routine, enrichment, and basic obedience, and he’s a happy, social, people-friendly goof who’s often by my side. I’ve also had cats my entire life and currently live with two, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs in multi-pet households. While much of my experience happens to be with larger and working breeds, I genuinely enjoy caring for dogs of all sizes. I find that when you understand dog behavior and communication, those skills translate naturally to smaller breeds as well. My approach is calm, attentive, and respectful of each dog’s individual needs, and my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. As a business owner with a detailing shop in Milton, I have a very flexible schedule. I’m not confined to a traditional 9–5, which allows me to step in and out as needed throughout the day. Bookings are always planned and accommodated in advance, making midday visits, early mornings, evenings, and weekends very doable. I’m able to adjust my schedule to ensure pets receive consistent care, attention, and timely walks or check-ins. When pets are in my home, their safety and comfort are always my top priority. I do have a dog of my own, but my home is set up so dogs can be fully separated if needed, including having their own space and routine. If a pet is reactive or prefers to be alone, accommodations can easily be made. During the day, my dog is often at my shop with my husband, so he is not present when I’m doing walks, drop-ins, or day care outside the home. My yard is partially fenced, with plans to be fully fenced this year. In the meantime, I have designated tie-outs (over 50 feet) to allow for safe outdoor play. The property sits on approximately half an acre, providing plenty of space for movement and enrichment, along with lots of toys. I can easily crate pets if needed and have crates, separate food and water bowls, and supplies on hand. I also encourage owners to bring their pet’s bed or familiar items to help with comfort and settling in. I’m very flexible, communicative, and always happy to work with each pet’s individual needs.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life. I know how to treat them and will ensure that they will get the care they need. Currently I walk my own dog twice a day and it’s my favourite part of my day. I figured why not try and help other people out by walking their dogs for them I have a fenced yard and live on a pretty closed off street. There are not a lot of cars that drive by, and the neighborhood is very welcoming

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was young. I currently run a dog-sitting business with my mother, and am hoping to expand this to dog-walking in particular. The more dogs on the journey, the merrier! As a university student, I am hoping to have dog-walking fill most of my summer vacation. I am free every weekday from 6am-3pm, so a dog-full life is my goal! My home is fully fenced, pet-friendly, and set up so dogs feel right at ease. When visiting your home, I respect your space, stick to your dog's routine, and treat everything with care. On walks, I stay fully attentive and always use secure leashes

About: I’m retired and able to offer consistent, reliable care without a rushed schedule. I’ve looked after dogs and homes for friends over the years, including travelling to British Columbia for extended house sitting, so I understand the level of trust involved in leaving both your pet and your home in someone else’s care. I also regularly care for pets in my condo building - neighbours trust me with their keys and rely on me to look after their pets, who are comfortable and familiar with me. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding routines, and keeping things consistent so pets feel settled while you’re away. I pay attention to behaviour, surroundings, and safety on walks, and I don’t take unnecessary risks. You can expect clear communication, dependability, and a calm, steady presence for your pet. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m retired, so I have a flexible schedule and can plan my day around walks, visits, and consistent care without rushing. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening walks or check-ins, and I can adjust timing to match your pet’s usual routine. I’m home most of the day, which allows me to provide steady attention and not leave pets alone for long periods. Because I’m not balancing another job, I can be reliable with timing, routines, and communication. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking as closely as possible to their usual routine - walks, feeding times, and any specific instructions you provide. Consistency makes a big difference in reducing stress while you’re away. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and keep things clean and secure. I’m attentive to your pet’s behaviour and surroundings, especially on walks, and I don’t take unnecessary risks. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a calm, safe environment with plenty of attention and regular outdoor time. I don’t overcrowd or take on more pets than I can properly care for. You’ll receive clear updates so you know how your pet is doing.

About: We’ve cared for different pets since we were very young, and we’re comfortable handling all kinds of dogs. A lifelong experience observing canine body language helps me understand their needs quickly. We also know how to work with both high-energy puppies and calm, senior dogs. We believe in the importance of daily walks and exercise to keep them balanced, reduce stress, and support their overall well-being. We can take care of dogs during the week, as long as they’re used to being alone since we have a hybrid work schedule. Weekends are also open for me, which means we can spend extra time having fun with them and making sure they’re well cared for. We care for pets in my own home, where we offer a calm and safe environment. We have a small patio where they can relax, and we make sure they always feel comfortable. We also love taking them out for walks or playing with them to keep them happy and engaged.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 81% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
