“Marina was excellent! She provided us with so much comfort and security that Harry was looked after. She was incredibly attentive with his medication and ensuring we were provided with updates. I would definitely book her again anytime!”

“"We cannot thank Xenia enough for looking after our puppy, Truffle! Since Truffle is still very young and only partially vaccinated, we were naturally a bit anxious, but Xenia was incredibly caring, cautious, and accommodating of all our specific routine needs. She also did a fantastic job helping with his crate training while we were away, showing real expertise and patience. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and genuinely loving to care for your pup, we highly recommend Xenia!"”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for pets has always been something I genuinely enjoy, whether it's going for long walks, playing, or simply giving them the attention and affection they deserve. Family and friends have trusted me to care for their dogs and cats while they're away because they know I'm dependable, responsible, and compassionate. I'm currently studying Zoology, where I'm learning about a wide variety of animals and their behaviour, health, and welfare. My passion for animals is what inspired me to pursue this field, and I can't wait to spend my career caring for them. I understand that every pet has their own unique personality and routine, and I always strive to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I treat every pet as if they were my own and take pride in providing reliable, attentive care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. My schedule is extremely open and flexible this summer. I’m currently a dancer teacher and in the summer will only be unavailable a few days each month. I’m also captain of my dance team which also only takes up approximately 4 days each month. Therefore i have love of time available to care for your pets :) When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and creating a calm, comfortable environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely to help them feel secure and reduce stress while their owner is away. I make sure they are always supervised, properly fed, and have fresh water, clean spaces, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I also take care to respect the client’s home, keeping everything tidy and following any specific instructions carefully. My goal is to build trust with both pets and owners by providing reliable, responsible, and compassionate care that feels as familiar and safe as possible for the pet.
About: IG: Lady.rav Dogs are my happy place — I’ve always felt at home around them. I’ve owned four German Shepherds, all rescues, and have done a mix of personal and professional training with them (including one with dog aggression). Those experiences taught me how to understand dogs deeply, from their body language to the way they respond to human energy. I’m active, love hiking, and think everything is more fun with a four‑legged friend beside me. Dogs usually settle quickly around me and feel comfortable, which makes walks, playtime, and downtime easy and enjoyable. Whether your pup needs exercise, company, or calm structure, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, understood, and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m currently building my consulting business, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility during the week to focus on caring for furry loved ones. On weekends, I volunteer helping abuse survivors move into safe housing during the day, so my evenings remain open and available for walks, drop‑ins, and overnight care. My schedule allows me to be consistently present, reliable, and attentive to each dog’s needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your routines closely so your dog feels safe and comfortable. I’m respectful of your space, keep things tidy, and pay close attention to your pet’s body language and needs. I double‑check doors, gates, and safety details, and keep communication open so you always know how your pup is doing. My goal is a calm, secure environment where your dog can relax and you can feel confident while you’re away.
About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. As an equestrian, I'm also experienced with large animals and understand the patience, responsibility, and dedication that quality animal care requires. I'm a true animal lover who treats every pet like they're my own, providing plenty of love, attention, and personalized care so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I work full-time, but I have a flexible schedule that allows me to step away when needed to care for your pets. I'm committed to giving them the time, attention, and love they deserve, and I'm happy to accommodate their individual needs whenever possible. Caring for animals isn't just something I do, it's something I genuinely love. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. On weekends, I have even more flexibility and can dedicate ample time to your pets based on their needs and routine. I will treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own. I understand that it's not just your house, it's your furry family member's safe space. My goal is to help them feel comfortable, secure, and loved while you're away by maintaining their routine and creating a calm, positive environment. You can trust that both your home and your pets will be cared for with the utmost respect and attention.

I have always been my family and friends go to person for a caretaker, dog walker, dog/cat sitter, feeder and or just going to give their fur babies some loving while they are away. I recently completed my Veterinary Assistant course where I can further go into a field that I truly love which is working with animals that give me so much joy. I believe that every animal should be loved and cared for and be treated as their own individual. I am currently just out of my first year of college and off for the summer and extremely excited to have so much time on my hands to play and take care of your adorable pups. For the most part I am pretty flexible with my timings and will work to the best of my abilities to fit your needs. I have one very friendly pup and am very involved with her life I feed her make sure she has adequate water at all times, trained her as a puppy, administer medications as needed at the appropriate timings, walking is frequent, play time is a must with me and light brushing to keep my pup well maintained. Overall the well being of mine and your pets are my top priority and I strive to make each interaction a positive one.
“This was Jeff's 3rd stay with Athena in our house but 2nd extended one. We are not easy to trust others but with Jeff we developed peace of mind and confidence after multiple proofs of Jeff's dedication to his commitment. Whatever comments and suggestions we left after previous house sitting were respectfully followed by Jeff this time to make it even better. We are very happy with the service provided by Jeff and care of Athena. Thanks to Jeff and his family, Athena was in great hands and we were able to enjoy our vacation fully. She developed a great bond with Jeff during the 1st stay and continue welcoming him in our house without any signs of fear or stress (we would tell because she's very shy and sensitive). Jeff followed our instructions, provided us with daily updates, answered our questions quickly and provided lots of pictures from walks and house. Each time upon returning, we found the house spotless and our dog happy to see us but still clinging to Jeff which speaks volumes. With Jeff we feel safe and hope to maintain him for our frequent vacations in 2025! Thank you Jeff and Raissa!”

“Thanks Nicole for taking such great care of Lajla while we were away. She is normally nervous around new people, yet she was at ease with you right away giving you kisses. Your good nature and professionalism was appreciated. We enjoyed the daily pictures of Lajla that you sent of your walks and snuggles. It set our minds at ease knowing that she was well looked after and that you were able to stay overnight so she had someone to snuggle with. I would recommend your services to anyone and would not hesitate to contact you again to look after Lajla. Thanks again!!!”

About: I’m retired and able to offer consistent, reliable care without a rushed schedule. I’ve looked after dogs (under 40 pounds, small to medium) and homes for friends over the years, including travelling to British Columbia for extended house sitting, so I understand the level of trust involved in leaving both your pet and your home in someone else’s care. I also regularly care for pets in my condo building - neighbours trust me with their keys and rely on me to look after their pets, who are comfortable and familiar with me. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding routines, and keeping things consistent so pets feel settled while you’re away. I pay attention to behaviour, surroundings, and safety on walks, and I don’t take unnecessary risks. I feel it's very important for dogs to have their walks and daily exercise. I am available to walk dogs up to 40 lbs. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m retired, so I have a flexible schedule and can plan my day around walks, visits, and consistent care without rushing. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening walks or check-ins, and I can adjust timing to match your pet’s usual routine. I’m home most of the day, which allows me to provide steady attention and not leave pets alone for long periods. Because I’m not balancing another job, I can be reliable with timing, routines, and communication. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking as closely as possible to their usual routine - walks, feeding times, and any specific instructions you provide. Consistency makes a big difference in reducing stress while you’re away. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and keep things clean and secure. I’m attentive to your pet’s behaviour and surroundings, especially on walks, and I don’t take unnecessary risks. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a calm, safe environment with plenty of attention and regular outdoor time. I don’t overcrowd or take on more pets than I can properly care for. You’ll receive clear updates so you know how your pet is doing.

His communication was excellent throughout—regular updates and check-ins gave us real peace of mind. Gizmo was clearly happy and well cared for when we got back, and our home was left in pristine condition. We wouldn’t hesitate to book him again.”

“Emy was very responsive and accommodating on 4 days notice. I dont need dog sitters too often but when the planned dog sitter backed out last minute, Emy stepped in seamlessly and I didn't need to worry. Maggie loved her :)”

“Yanqi was amazing with Crusoe. Not once did I need to check in for photos or updates as these were sent regularly throughout the day. We returned home to a totally relaxed and chilled out pup who clearly had a great time with his pet sitter. Our place was clean and tidy and most importantly, our precious boy was well loved and cared for. Will definitely be booking Yanqi in the future as the peace of mind we had allowed us to enjoy a family break together.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Milton
Marie was wonderful with my husky, Xylo! From the moment I picked him up, he was calm, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. She took him on a walk, followed all of my instructions carefully, and kept me updated throughout the evening. It's clear she genuinely cares. I felt completely at ease leaving Xylo with her and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend Marie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🩷

Audrie was great! Was the first time using Rover after I started to become uncomfortable leaving my 18 year old cockapoo alone for any extended periods of time. His declining mobility means he can’t always get himself up to standing and needs some help occasionally when he wanders into a corner and can’t figure out how to turn around. Audrie was so sweet with him and I came home to a happy, well cared for and sound asleep puppy! Can’t thank Audrie enough for her kind, responsible and mature approach with caring for Jackson. Would recommend her to anyone.

Xinting did an amazing job for my 2 pets Fred & Ella. Arrived on time and took Fred on a walk. Sent me pictures and i can tell Ella ( who has anxiety problem) was very comfortable and even slept on Xining lap. Thank you so much for taking care for both of them. Will definitely book again and your pet will always be in good care with Xingting/

Nicole recently stayed at our house with our two dogs for a week and my dogs absolutely loved her. They were well taken care of and went on exciting new walks. Nicole was very friendly, caring and nurturing and we will look forward to booking her again.

Chantale stayed at our house with our two dogs while we were away for a week. She sent lots of pics - lots of play, snuggles and walks. Dogs seemed to be happy and well cared for when we returned! Would recommend! Thanks Chantale for taking great care of our pups and home while we were away!
Lisa was an amazing dog sitter! She is highly professional and very trustworthy. I felt completely at ease leaving my border collie Gus in her hands because of all of her experience. She provided updates and sent pictures, and thoroughly followed the outline of Gus' daily routine. I highly recommend Lisa, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Chloe was incredible during her 10-day stay with our Frenchie, Maverick! From the start, communication was so easy and reassuring. Maverick instantly loved her, and we could tell he was in great hands. She went above and beyond, not only did she care for him like her own, but we came back to a spotless house (she even cleaned the bed and bathroom she used!). We were able to truly enjoy our vacation worry-free, and we will definitely be booking with her again!

The average cost for House Sitting in Milton on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,101 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Milton. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Milton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Milton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
