“Hailey did such a great job with our puppy’s first stay away from us! She made us feel confident that he was in good hands, followed our instructions and gave him so much love. She also gave us regular updates which made it so much easier on us! THANK YOU Hailey! Will definitely be using her again.”

“Leslee was professional and had great communication. She was respectful and left the place in great condition even taking some proactive steps helping to put out our yard waste while we were gone. 100% would recommend and hire again!”

“Paige was amazing with Blaze while I was away for a couple nights. He got many walks and lots of love! She provided many updates and always responded promptly. She came for a quick visit prior to her stay and Blaze loved her immediately. We are lucky to have found her and will definitely use her again!”

“Ethan was an excellent sitter for our dog while we were out of town!! He responded quickly to messages and handled a last-minute booking change with ease. He kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us peace of mind :)”

“Linda took great care of our dog Georgie and our home. She communicated with us throughout her stay and made us feel very comfortable leaving our dog and home in her hands. We would definitely recommend her and would book her services again!”

“This was Jeff's 3rd stay with Athena in our house but 2nd extended one. We are not easy to trust others but with Jeff we developed peace of mind and confidence after multiple proofs of Jeff's dedication to his commitment. Whatever comments and suggestions we left after previous house sitting were respectfully followed by Jeff this time to make it even better. We are very happy with the service provided by Jeff and care of Athena. Thanks to Jeff and his family, Athena was in great hands and we were able to enjoy our vacation fully. She developed a great bond with Jeff during the 1st stay and continue welcoming him in our house without any signs of fear or stress (we would tell because she's very shy and sensitive). Jeff followed our instructions, provided us with daily updates, answered our questions quickly and provided lots of pictures from walks and house. Each time upon returning, we found the house spotless and our dog happy to see us but still clinging to Jeff which speaks volumes. With Jeff we feel safe and hope to maintain him for our frequent vacations in 2025! Thank you Jeff and Raissa!”

“"We cannot thank Xenia enough for looking after our puppy, Truffle! Since Truffle is still very young and only partially vaccinated, we were naturally a bit anxious, but Xenia was incredibly caring, cautious, and accommodating of all our specific routine needs. She also did a fantastic job helping with his crate training while we were away, showing real expertise and patience. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and genuinely loving to care for your pup, we highly recommend Xenia!"”

“Paige stayed over and watched my dog while i was away for a night. She was great! Easy to communicate with, tidy, and knowledgeable about dogs. Would recommend her, and have her watch Lolli again.”

“Alexandra was great with our chocolate lab puppy she loved her and was calm and relaxed the whole stay. She was always punctual and super patient with our high-energy pup. Would definitely recommend.”

“I can’t say enough amazing things about Janet. Firstly, we are new to Rover and she assured us right away and provided such excellent information on how the whole process worked. She came to our home to meet our dog Ollie on two occasions, which allowed him and us to get very comfortable around her. In those meetings she was so naturally loving and nurturing to Ollie, which allowed him to trust her almost immediately. She listened intently on Ollie’s eating schedule, his medication routine, and his route for walking (altered due to his recently knee surgery) and she implemented all our requests while house sitting. She sent frequent pictures and updates (twice daily) to give us peace of mind that Ollie was doing okay in our absence, as he is a very nervous and anxious dog. We could see from these pictures and updates that Ollie was coping well in his new circumstances for the week. She also took excellent care of our home, keeping it clean, taking out our garbage, and essentially leaving it as we left it. Because of Janet we were able to really enjoy our vacation and it gave us extreme peace of mind that our home, and more importantly, our dog was safe in our absence. We would definitely reach out to Janet again in the future if we needed a dog sitter/ house sitter!”
“Laura took wonderful care of my dog, Luna, and I’m already in the process of rebooking her. Luna has anxiety and leash reactivity, and Laura took the time to truly listen to both Luna’s needs and mine. She was attentive, compassionate, and made sure to care for Luna exactly the way I needed. Laura was also incredibly thorough, taking detailed notes and joining us on walks before her stay to build trust and get to know Luna better. I’m so grateful to have found her! “Mark stayed at hour home and watched our Bullmastiff for a few days. He was respectful of our home and took good care of our dog, following all of our instructions and keeping us updated each day. I would be happy to hire him again.”

“What can I say about Lorin that hasn’t already been said. She’s super. She was our angel when Knox got injured and needed minor surgery the day before our trip and we had to quickly pivot and make alternate boarding plans. She agreed to watch him at our house without meeting us or Knox. She trusted, and so we trusted. She was calm, kind and accommodating. The minute Knox met her, he liked her. She took incredible care of our pup, which included giving him antibiotics and make sure that his toe was healing ok. She gave us daily updates and sent great pictures. Thanks to her, we were able to enjoy our vacation; we really thought we would have to cancel. We are truly grateful.”

“Kaid was great with our two cats for her in-home stay while we were away for a few nights. The cats seem happy and Kaid was respectful of our home and left everything just the way it was. :) We'd be happy to have her again.”

Paige is the best!! She took such amazing care of my girl and our home! She kept me updated everyday and sent lots of pictures. She’s amazing with our dog, takes care of her as if she was her own. I was able to enjoy my week away knowing my dog was in safe hands and having the best time!

Marina was amazing! She looked after our older dog in our home for a week, and expertly managed all our dog's needs, including multiple medications twice each day. Our pup seemed to get comfortable with her quite quickly, too. Marina also left the house in excellent shape. You wouldn't know anyone had even been here. I would recommend her for pet sitting without hesitation.

We were thrilled with the care that Jodi gave our pets. We have an elderly border collie that needs special attention and we felt so comfortable with the care our dog received. She kept us informed about their day and even gave the dog and cat little nick names. It meant the world to us to know the pets were in good hands. Dont hesitate to have Jodi tend to your pet.
Marie was wonderful with my husky, Xylo! From the moment I picked him up, he was calm, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. She took him on a walk, followed all of my instructions carefully, and kept me updated throughout the evening. It's clear she genuinely cares. I felt completely at ease leaving Xylo with her and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend Marie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🩷

Audrie was great! Was the first time using Rover after I started to become uncomfortable leaving my 18 year old cockapoo alone for any extended periods of time. His declining mobility means he can’t always get himself up to standing and needs some help occasionally when he wanders into a corner and can’t figure out how to turn around. Audrie was so sweet with him and I came home to a happy, well cared for and sound asleep puppy! Can’t thank Audrie enough for her kind, responsible and mature approach with caring for Jackson. Would recommend her to anyone.

Xinting did an amazing job for my 2 pets Fred & Ella. Arrived on time and took Fred on a walk. Sent me pictures and i can tell Ella ( who has anxiety problem) was very comfortable and even slept on Xining lap. Thank you so much for taking care for both of them. Will definitely book again and your pet will always be in good care with Xingting/

Nicole recently stayed at our house with our two dogs for a week and my dogs absolutely loved her. They were well taken care of and went on exciting new walks. Nicole was very friendly, caring and nurturing and we will look forward to booking her again.

Chantale stayed at our house with our two dogs while we were away for a week. She sent lots of pics - lots of play, snuggles and walks. Dogs seemed to be happy and well cared for when we returned! Would recommend! Thanks Chantale for taking great care of our pups and home while we were away!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Milton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Milton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Milton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
