“Kadin was incredible! My girls are my world and they've been through their fair share of trauma before I got them so I'm always super worried when I have to leave them behind. But Kadin delivered and more! I've never seen my girls in such high spirits upon return and if/when I have to travel again - Kadin will be the first person I call!”

“Brittany took care of our 2 rescue dogs for a week and she was incredible. She was patient with them as they take a little time to get to know and trust people. She provided daily updates and stuck to their routine making us feel at ease! We would highly recommend her services. (Even though we want to keep her available for us...lol)”

“Abigail was my first Rover experience & I couldn’t have asked for a better one! She was such a great sitter for my dog when we were out of town for a wedding. I was able to enjoy the wedding knowing he was in the comfort of his own home getting cuddles. We absolutely plan on using her again!!”

“Jasmine is very responsive and sends lots of pictures of Boomer. They also get along very well and Boomer cuddles with her upon arrival. Jasmine is trustworthy and I would recommend her to pet owners looking for a reliable sitter.”

About: I love dogs. So much. But with my 12 hour shift schedule, my small apartment, and my ornary cat it wouldn't be fair to a dog. So instead I'd love to go out and walk your dog! It will give you dog a fun walk and fulfill my daily doggie interaction requirement to be happy. So we're both doing each other a service! I love all animals l, so if you need me to come over and watch your loved one I would be more than delighted to do so. Will follow all instructions to a tee! My schedule with 12 hour shifts maker it hard to have a consistent schedule. But I am free every weekend and some days during the week. If I am free and booked I will be there. I will follow all instructions and any requirements for your pet. If I ever think it's something I can't do I will not accept. Your pets safety and well-being is my number one priority.

“Des and Michelle were wonderful! They took great care of our dog Murphy and our home. They provided regular updates and photos which were appreciated. We were a bit nervous leaving Murphy but he warmed to Des and Michelle so quickly at our meet and greet. We would not hesitate to recommend their services and would definitely use again!”

“Caroline was so great with my pets! She was so attentive and kept me updated all the time. Our pets were so happy and well cared for. I will definitely have Caroline sit for me again, she is lovely!!”

“Holly was amazing with our girl! Our dog can be very nervous and scared of almost everything and everyone and she LOVED Holly. Shes the best, if we ever need dog sitting in the future she is my #1 choice.”

“Phanie has been awesome with our two cats for a house sitting. One of our cat unexpectedly requested medical care. She did exactly what was needed and she probably saved the life of our cat. She also took care of our house and left everything perfectly clean. Phanie is a gem and I will definitively asked her again to take care of my cats when I travel. Phanie is fully reliable and I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a little kid, and have mainly taken care of my own pets (one cat and one dog) for the past couple years. This includes, but not limited to, walks, feeding, grooming and bathing, play time, and all the love and cuddles. I know i may be new to rover, but i can promise if you take a chance on my you will not be disappointed! I’m a part time worker with a very flexible schedule who’s wanted to help pet parents while trying to save up money for collage in the winter. In a clients home, I care for the dog and/or cat, making sure to follow there specific needs, and making sure the pet is happy and healthy, while keeping the house clean and tidy.
“Melina looked after Atlas for 3 days and did a wonderful job. This was our first time doing an overnight rover and I was completely at ease with Melina watching over her. Atlas has high anxiety and needs daily medication, Melina handled this perfectly. Would love to book again in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hamilton
Melina was punctual and professional and was so helpful in accommodating us last minute. She took excellent care of our 2 year old cat for a couple nights in our home. I didn't have to worry, she provided lots of photos and as many check ins as we needed. I'd be happy to have her back anytime!!

This was Linda's second housesitting stay with our dog, Jasper. Jasper is a rescue and won't allow new people to touch her, which makes dogsitting a lot less fun! Linda has been very patient and committed to building Jasper's trust over time. As always, Linda was very proactive and professional with communication. We love the photos she sends to keep us updated during her stay and greatly appreciate her flexibility with our uncertain schedule on this particular visit. Thank you!

This was our first time ever leaving our puppy overnight with someone in our home, and she made the entire experience so comfortable and stress-free. She was kind, calm, reliable, and absolutely wonderful with Mac. We came home to a happy, well-loved pup and couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend!

Lisa you are just the best! Thanks for watching the boys again. They were so calm and happy when I got home. I can always tell from the photos and videos the boys adore you! I know this was a longer stay and it gives me such peace of mind knowing the pups and my home are in good hands with you. And thanks for the tidy house I came home to — after all the travelling it was really nice.

We are so grateful to have found Nicole! She took great care of our dogs, provided regular updates, and maintained the structure of their daily routine with a high level of integrity. Not to mention, coming home to a clean and well cared for house! She’s awesome, don’t hesitate to book with her :)

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 1,389 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hamilton. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hamilton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hamilton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hamilton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
