I’m a friendly, attentive pet sitter with 40 years of pet care experience and Canadian Red Cross First Aid for Dogs & Cats training. I provide thoughtful, reliable care for cats, dogs, and other common household pets, and I’m happy to follow each pet’s usual routine, feeding schedule, and care instructions. I’m especially patient with shy pets and attentive to the needs of senior animals who may need a quieter approach or extra care and monitoring. I’m also comfortable administering medications in food or pill pockets, as well as injections for calm, cooperative pets that are comfortable being handled.

Safety, trust & environment
During drop-in visits and house sittings, I make pet safety and home security a priority. I’m mindful of doors, gates, harnesses, and leashes to help prevent pets from slipping out or becoming unsafe during care and walks. I carefully follow household routines and instructions, keep feeding and medication schedules consistent, and always do my best to leave your home tidy and well cared for. For safety reasons, I’m unable to care for pets with contagious illnesses or pets that display aggressive behaviour such as snapping, biting, or persistent nipping toward people or other animals. I do not provide pet care in my own home. All services take place in the client’s home environment so pets can remain comfortable in their familiar space and routine 🐾

Sheila was fantastic to our beloved Juno! We booked Sheila to stay with Juno all day for myself and my Husbands wedding. She went above and beyond to make sure our little Juno was safe and happy throughout the entire day. We were very lucky to have Sheila. Juno can be very stand offish to new people, but Sheila was so calm and friendly towards her, Juno immediately felt comfortable in the presence of Sheila. Thank you so much for helping make our day special and taking such good care of our girl. She also captured some adorable photos throughout the night which made us feel assured Juno was doing great. We would highly recommend Sheila to family and friends and anyone in need of a pet sitter.
I cannot recommend Sheila enough! She was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with right from the start, which instantly put my mind at ease. I didn't have to worry about a thing while we were away, and looked forward to her detailed updates and cute pictures every day. Knowing our cats were in such caring, reliable hands made all the difference. We will absolutely book with her again!
I always trust Sheila to housesit my cat, Alfie, whenever I’m out of town. He absolutely adores her, and she goes above and beyond to make sure he gets lots of love and attention while I’m away. She also takes such great care of my apartment and is incredibly responsible and respectful. It’s so reassuring knowing he’s in such good hands when I’m away!

Sheila is great with our senior tabby. At 16, he doesn’t always make it to the litter box in time, but Sheila takes it all in stride. He loves his playtime with her, and knowing he’s being well cared for makes it so much easier to enjoy our time away.

Schedule
My schedule is flexible, and I do my best to work around each pet’s usual routine and comfort level. I work remotely during house sittings, which allows me to spend lots of quality time with pets throughout the day and evening while still balancing occasional drop-in visits and appointments 😊

This can include things like escape tendencies, hiding in small spaces, chewing cords or household items, sensitivity to noises, food restrictions, favourite toys or treats, or anything else important for me to watch for while caring for your pet 😊
