“Kelley is super friendly and took care of our dog’s needs and went above and beyond. She was quite flexible with the pick up and drop off times alleviating any stress for us. Our dog came home after we picked him up from her and he passed out from all the playing he did! She even showered him and handed us a bag of treats that her dogs have because she felt that our dog liked them and she refused to take money for it! Highly recommend her! We are really pleased with her service.”

“My dog Romeo loves Lindas house 🥰 truly a sanctuary of cuddles love and attention. I always get lots of updates with pictures. I was even able to book a last minute session with her as i had some errands to run that day. She is always very accommodating. Can’t wait to see Linda again !!”

“Julia was amazing with my dog Ivy! Ivy is a Miniature Pinscher who ran be rambunctious at times and likes to be vocal but Julia handled her very well! She kept me well updated, with lots of photos, walks and playtime. She also made sure that all of Ivy's needs were met. It was my first time using Rover and was nervous with anyone watching Ivy but I fully trust Julia! I would rebook again, and I recommend her as an amazing sitter to watch your pet!”

“Priyanka took great care of our dog. The dog sensed her calm demeanor and was more than happy to go into her home without a struggle. During our time away we got frequent updates and pictures. I would definitely trust Priyanka to look after my dog in the future.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs and giving medication when needed. I truly enjoy spending time with dogs and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. There are two people in my household, so there is almost always someone at home to supervise and take care of the dogs. Even if we go out, it is never for very long, so your pet will not be left alone for extended periods. I can take dogs on daily walks and also bring them to nearby parks so they can get exercise and enjoy the outdoors. I make sure every dog gets plenty of attention, playtime, and regular potty breaks. I only accept a limited number of pets at a time to ensure each dog receives enough care and attention. I will treat every dog like my own and do my best to make them feel happy and comfortable while staying with me. I am a student at McMaster University and spend most of my time at home. I do not need to go to campus very often, and even when I do, I am usually not away for long periods of time. I personally provide all care for pets in my home, including feeding, walking, supervision, and attention. Your dog will not be left alone for long periods, and I will make sure they are safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. I truly love dogs and have experience caring for pets. I am patient, responsible, and attentive to each dog’s needs. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all pets in my home. I always supervise dogs closely and make sure they are never left alone for long periods of time. I follow each dog’s routine and any instructions provided by the owner, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, and special care requirements. I also make sure the environment is secure and free of hazards. If any issues arise, I will communicate with the owner right away and handle the situation responsibly. My priority is always to ensure that every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Henry recently boarded our male golden retriever for 5 days while we were on vacation. Pickle was very comfortable in Henry’s home, and Henry sent a daily photo and update, which was nice to have. We would gladly board with Henry again! :)”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Chester! He stayed with them for two weeks, and the care, love, and attention he received were truly amazing. We got regular updates, and it was so comforting to see how happy and relaxed he was. It honestly felt like he was on his own little vacation. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring!”

“Christine is such an amazing caregiver! Loompa loved staying there and had fun with her 2 fur babies. She made sure to update us every day with his activities and with lots of pictures. Therefore we had a stressfree trip. We would definitely rebook for future. Thank you!”

“Patricia was amazing! She took the time to ask plenty of questions to understand my dog’s specific needs and was a huge help while I was out of town. I would highly recommend hiring Patricia and will definitely do so again myself.”

“Sandra took great care of our dog, Coco. She was very flexible with pickup and drop off timing which ensured we were not rushed on the way back home from our trip. She provided plenty of updates including photos of Coco; this gave us the peace of mind that Coco was in great company. We will definitely reach out to Sandra again if we’re traveling across the border and need a sitter in Hamilton.”

“Chetan helped us out when we needed last minute care for our dog. He was super easy to talk to and sent us daily updates, pictures and videos of Chotu having the best time. We were a bit nervous because our dog hadn't been around other dogs other than passing by some dogs during our walks. Chetan made us feel completely at ease by sharing his technique to introduce him to his dogs and giving us that extra reassurance. We got stuck in a snow storm and he was completely understanding and was able to keep chotu for an extra night. This really helped us as we have a little baby and were really worried about getting home in time with the weather being so bad. All in all Chetan was absolutely amazing with our dog and we will definitely rebook with him in the future.”

“Bruno stayed with Megan for a month, and I couldn’t recommend Megan enough. I was stressed about leaving him for a month, but Megan made the whole experience completely stress-free, and I never had to worry at all. They regularly sent me pictures and updates. Bruno also became best friends with their dog, Ella, who is so sweet hearted, which made his stay even better. Their family was lovely as well, and they treated him as part of the family. It was clear he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. I’m so glad to know Bruno has a second home. I will definitely book again if we go on another trip or if something comes up. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.”

“My dog had a lovely stay with Karen and her family! I received lots of photos and updates and it seems my dog was very comfortable and well cared for during her stay. Thank you for looking after her!”

“Another great vacation completed for the 4th time in 3 months for Nemo at Aishwarya’s place. Stress free for us and. Nemo as well as Aishwarya and Veer cared for Nemo so well. Have to mention that Whiskey , their lovely dog loves me😊 and I love him so much. Thanks Veer and Aishwarya!!”

“Carolina was a fantastic pet sitter. She was kind, thorough with reviewing medications, and sent updates to us. Our dog can be a bit naughty at times and she handled that with understanding and ease. We would definitely recommend her!”

About: I've loved dogs (and really all furry animals) since I was a little girl. I read dog books and memorized the different breeds. I plastered my walls with dog posters. When my family went camping, my longing for a dog of my own always got even stronger, as I thought how wonderful it would be to walk a dog around the campground. I posted marker-drawn signs on our site post asking, "May I walk your dog?", and was delighted when other campers indeed allowed me to walk their dogs! Eventually I did get a dog, and another. My last dog was Peppi, a tiny schnorkie-poo that I raised from puppy-hood who lived to be 16.5 years old. Peppi died in early 2020. I also grew up with and have had and cared for cats. Recently, I've become a foster parent for a dog rescue, and as part of this process, completed online training on topics of dog behaviour, body language, and training. I still love dogs, and I love going on walks. So just as I did as a little kid on the campground, I'm asking, "May I walk your dog?" I'm a therapist who works from home, so I have time around sessions to enjoy walks or drop-ins with dog(s) in my area! I also offer doggy daycare and boarding in my home, for small, well-behaved dogs only (i.e., If your dog is the type that can relax quietly while I'm doing a client session here or there, we may be a good fit!). For daycare or boarding dogs, I'm happy to offer multiple walks a day, playtime in the yard, and/or just allow them to relax in my home. Whatever they/you prefer! I have a fenced yard your dog can enjoy (always supervised!). Supplies (crate, etc.) will need to be provided for doggy daycare and boarding stays. I currently have no pets of my own, so your dog will have all the attention and snuggles to themselves!
About: Hi! I’m Katerina, a registered nurse with a lifelong love of animals. I grew up with dogs and have shared my home with cats for the past 15 years. Caring for animals has always been one of the greatest joys in my life. Sadly, I recently lost both of my beloved cats, and while my home feels a little quieter, I still have so much love and care to give. Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, or simply have a calm, reassuring presence nearby, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, and I’ll treat your pets with the same patience, kindness, and attention that I gave my own. As a registered nurse, I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable following routines and administering medications if needed. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! Schedule I’m currently off work until mid-October, which means I have plenty of flexibility and availability for pet sitting, drop-in visits, and walks throughout the week. Whether you need last-minute care or are planning ahead, I’m happy to work with your schedule. After I return to work, I’ll continue offering pet care around my nursing schedule and will keep my Rover calendar up to date so you always know my availability. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they are part of the family. When caring for pets in their own home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, playtime, walks, and plenty of attention and affection. I understand that pets are most comfortable in familiar surroundings, so I take the time to let them warm up to me and respect their individual personalities. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and keep your home tidy and secure while you’re away. As a registered nurse, I’m detail-oriented, responsible, and comfortable following care plans and noticing small changes in behaviour or health. I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe and loved.

Julia took such great care of our sweet Humphrey. It was so nice to not have to worry and know he was in great hands. He came home relaxed and sleepy from a chill day with lots of walks, and cuddles. We will definitely book again with Julia and we would recommend her for sure!

Alisha was great. We had a previous sitter fall through, but Alisha was able to accommodate both of my dogs and was really great with keeping us in the loop over the days. My dogs can be a lot, but Alisha was up for the challenge and both my dogs came back happy. Thank you for taking care of my puppers

I was so impressed! When my small havanese dog and I arrived, we were welcomed into a calm, cozy home with Jennifer and her 2 lovely little girls. My dog happily met her 2 small friendly dogs and was wagging her tail, and joyfully jumped on the couch (which Jennifer didn't mind, I am happy to say). My dog is usually shy and velcrowed to my hip. To see my dog calm and happy was a gift....Jennifer is now my Go To Person for all our overnights and vacation from this day on. Thank you Jennifer!
Cheryl has been wonderful and accommodating to our dog. She did a lot to help us and our pup feel comfortable in a new environment and answered all of our questions before setting up an overnight stay. Cheryl is extremely professional and knowledgeable and we are so glad to have met her. Our dog is always happy to see her and to stay with her which makes drop offs a breeze.

We had such a wonderful dog boarding experience with Linda. From the beginning, she was prompt with her communication and made our anxious rescue dog feel right at home. We couldn’t have better things to say about Linda and we will definitely have our dog stay with her again. Thank you for everything Linda!

Veronica took amazing care of my dog, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. I would trust her again without a second thought. Oreo is a very energetic puppy, and she did an excellent job handling him. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him, and he had a great time. Highly recommend!

Alfonso was great with Stanley. This was his second time looking after Stanley who is a handful at times. He was great with communication, and pictures. He also advised he was eating his food great as we had to get a different one to due stock issues so we knew he was eating normal. He was great in communicating at the end of the stay how it went, and advised Stanley had a few instances where he was over protective with his toys, so we was aware ourselves. Stanley is looking forward to his next stay.

Shadi did an amazing job caring for our senior chihuahua mix. Our dog is on two medications a day and can be a bit finicky and slow to warm up to new people. She warmed up to Shadi within a couple days and clearly trusted her. Shadi provided regular updates with photos and asked us questions if anything came up. We would 100% book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
