“Alexandria was absolutely phenomenal! Extremely accommodating/understanding even when life got chaotic. Peach was very comfortable with Alexandria and her family, they were very welcoming and took excellent care of Peach during her stay. Will definitely book with Alexandria again.”

“Great experience with Ruomai. took excellent care of Barfi while I was away. Communication was great and Barfi clearly felt right at home. Will definitely book again”

“Paige is so reliable and kind hearted. I can’t thank her enough for helping us out and going the extra mile to make things convenient for us when we needed it. Our pup pup feels so comfortable with her and we highly recommend her if you’re on the hunt for a great sitter!!”

“Shelley is an absolute queen. I could tell my pup was sad when he left :( She was always quick to respond, met with me before so she could ask me specific questions about my breed of dog and explain to me his routine so she could take the best care of him possible. You can tell animals have her heart and it’s her passion to take care of them. She even took the time to clip Archies nails and give him some ointment for his ear that was bugging him. Would recommend her to absolutely anyone. She is a treasure forsure ?”

“Sara and Rick were amazing dog sitters! They were very friendly, easy to communicate with, and kept me updated throughout the stay. My dog was clearly happy and well taken care of. I’d definitely trust them again!”

“Thank you for watching Pete! Pete spent a week with Shannon while I was away. Shannon kept me updated daily, sent pictures, followed all instructions, and provided Pete with so much love. Her home is tidy and neat - a safe place for all pets. I will definitely book with Shannon again! Thank you for a seamless experience :)”

“Britney sent regular updates and photos about Oscar and Oscar had a blast spending the weekend with her, her husband, and Daisy, along with some other furry guests. Oscar will be returning for boarding :)”

“Nicolette was great with my 15 month old Portuguese Water Dog. He's a good size active breed so finding someone willing to board him in their home is a bit rare. She was thorough and kind and asked very good questions to get to know us. Kingston had a chance to run around in her backyard prior to the boarding which really helped him get comfortable. My boy doesn't love being alone and is very much a velcro dog. Nicolette provided pictures and updates and when I picked him up he was happy as could be. Thanks Nicolette!”

“Yaxnitza was great. Maggie stayed with her for 5 days. We received pictures and updates every day. Maggie came home the same way she went, a very happy girl. Thank you Yaxnitza, we’ll see you again the next time we go away! Sonia”

We had an amazing experience and couldn’t be happier with the care Coco received! From the moment we dropped Coco off, it was clear she genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly. She followed every detail in our care guide, which gave us so much peace of mind, and she treated Coco like one of her own. One of our favorite parts was receiving multiple photos and updates throughout the stay. It was so reassuring to see Coco happy, comfortable, and having a great time while we were away. When we picked Coco up, she was relaxed, well cared for, and clearly loved. It’s not easy trusting someone else with your fur baby, but she exceeded all of our expectations. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of Coco—we’ll definitely be booking with you again!

Taryn was a great pleasure to communicate with and our lovely lady Seven had a great time with the other dogs that were staying. We will absolutely book again and she put us at great comfort and ease sending us some pictures of our lady enjoying her time. Thanks again Taryn!

Rafael and his family were very loving towards Bella during her stay with them. They communicated with us on a regular basis and even taught her a new trick ( dancing) that they shared with us in a video. We are definitely going to use Rafael again. Bella really enjoyed her stay with them. Thanks again

I was dubious about leaving my dogs with someone I didn't know, but the couple I decided to leave them with are simply amazing!! My dogs loved them so much and they created a bond with the sitters dog too. I received daily updates and photos and was so happy to know by babies were in safe hands. Thank you so much for raking care of my fur babies. I will definitely be in contact again, and I highly recommend this couple to look after your dogs in a safe friendly and caring home.

Rob was fantastic from our first meet and greet through the entire weekend our girl stayed with him and his family. Our normally - very attached to her humans - Corso was clearly comfortable, well cared for, and settled right in with Rob’s dogs and family routine. We couldn’t be happier with the overall experience. Thank you, Rob!
I have never used a pet service before, but Lesley and Gerald came highly recommended. I love my cat very much, and I was a little nervous to leave her behind. There have been a lot of personal things that have happened in my life over the last year, so my cat has been my social support. I knew that when I met Lesley and Gerald, they were very kind, sweet, and caring people. I received updates every day on my fur baby, and it was a relief to know that my little Khlor was in excellent hands. I will certainly use Lesley and Gerald again and would recommend them to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
