About: As a dedicated pet lover, I believe every pet deserves a safe, loving, and caring home. Not every home needs a pet, but for those that do, pets are truly family — and to them, we are their whole world. I’ll care for your pets with the same love and attention I give my own two kitties, whom I’ve even trained to do fun tricks like “hands,” “stand,” and “jump.” I’m always happy to learn new ways to enrich their lives, including leash training for safe outdoor adventures. I’ve also looked after cats and dogs for friends during extended vacations, so you can feel confident knowing your furry family will be in loving and capable hands. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away — just as if you were home. 🐾💕 Every pet is unique, with their own personality and preferences. Whether they enjoy walks, playtime, outdoor time, or simply relaxing with a calm companion, I’m always happy to match their energy and care for them in the way that suits them best. Below are the services I offer and what you can expect from each one: Dog Walks I provide dog walks of at least 30 minutes, once or twice daily, depending on your dog’s needs and routine. Home Visits I offer home visits once or twice daily, with each visit lasting at least one hour. During that time, I’ll make sure your pet is well cared for with feeding, fresh water, playtime, affection, and outdoor time if they enjoy it. I’m also able to administer oral medication when needed. If requested, I can help with light household tasks such as watering plants and bringing in the mail. House Sitting I offer house sitting services and am happy to coordinate the length of my stay based on your pet’s needs and usual routine. I’m comfortable caring for kittens, puppies, senior pets, and shy pets, and I understand that each animal has their own personality, pace, and needs. I’m also happy to keep you updated with photos, videos, and check-ins so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family. ❤️
About: I cared for my own cats and dogs for many years. I understand how important routines and trust are for pets. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I enjoy spending time with animals. I’m available for drop-in visits, feeding, litter care, and spending time with pets to keep them comfortable while their owners are away. I am also Pet First Aid Certified through Walks 'N' Wags (valid until June 2029) I treat every pet and home with respect and care. I follow the pet’s normal routine for feeding, litter care, and playtime, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m attentive, calm, and reliable.

“June was fantastic with our dogs. We hired her to watch our puppy for the day and the few checks through our camers showed a happily playing or snoozing puppy. Would hire again as needed”

“No issues! Rudy is very picky when comes to new humans in his life, Alex fit right in. He was happy. For the first time he had an overnight sitter and it went well. We will do it again, since I can see his trust towards Alex. Perfect fit! Thank you Alex. 🥰”

“Grace was very responsive and communicative during her time watching our cats. She sent us tons of pictures and gave us updates. The cats looked very happy to be with her! We would book her again!! Thanks grace.”

“Dorothy did an excellent job caring for Lulu in my home! I'm very happy to provide a high recommendation for her - she is an extremely nice lady and it's obvious she loves dogs. My house was immaculate when I came back and my dog well cared for. Will definitely use her again.”

“Emma provided house sitting for my dog for a night, and I couldn’t be more pleased. She stopped by ahead of time even though it was a pretty last minute booking to meet my dog and make sure it was a good fit, and allow my dog to familiarize with her. My dog took to her immediately, which isn’t the most common as my dog can be a little standoffish with people the first time. During that time Emma was lovely to chat with, and my dog just wanted to play with her the entire time. Over the evening she watched her, Emma provided photos and videos of how things were going, and updates on behaviour, feedings, and potty breaks. Even went back to turn some lights on for me after I failed to mention that request earlier. Emma also left my home just as she found it, which was very kind. Would absolutely recommend her for your animal care needs.”

About: My family has rescued three dogs throughout my life. Two of which took extensive training to integrate into our home. One of the two is very reactive. This means that I’m no stranger to dog training, reactive dogs, patience and playing. I’m incredible flexible for the time and would be happy to work with your schedule and provide whatever your dog needs! I have just finished five years of post secondary education and am taking the summer off before applying for policing come the fall. I serve some weekends but this means my schedule is very flexible. From week days to week nights, to weekend availability, I’m happy to step in when need be. I will not be hosting any pets in my home because my dog is reactive but I am happy to come to you! I am clean and responsible, you won’t even know I was there besides your tired out pup! From walks and playtime, to some sunshine and cuddles, I am happy to provide what your dog needs. Please reach out and we can talk about your needs for your dog and we’ll chat about how I can best accommodate you.

About: With lifelong hands-on experience caring for pets, I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and have walked dogs and pet sat for family and friends. I completed placements at a professional dog walking agency in Fergus, Ontario, and at a veterinary clinic, gaining valuable knowledge in animal health and behaviour. Additionally, my background in social work has strengthened my ability to connect with both pets and their owners, ensuring a trustworthy and respectful relationship. I’m dedicated to providing reliable, loving care tailored to your pet’s unique personality - whether that means exercise, medication, or just companionship. You can count on me to treat your furry family members like my own. I have open availability to spend quality time with your pets over the next few weeks, aside from times that are blocked off via Rover. I will then update my schedule accordingly. I’m happy to arrange walks or drop-ins that fit your pet’s routine! When caring for your pet in your home, I create a calm, safe, and clean environment that respects your routines and space. I follow all instructions carefully, from feeding to medication. I’m comfortable managing dogs with crates, special needs, or unique behaviors, ensuring your pet feels secure and loved while you’re away.
“Taryn watched our senior shepherd for 11 days while we were traveling and I couldn't be happier with her professional service! She stayed at our place and kept it very clean and tidy, got out for walks in the cold and snow, and helped our pup with her bad hips when she needed assistance. She was communicative and sent lots of pictures and we had peace of mind for our dog and home while she was there. I would highly recommend Taryn to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cambridge
We were in Cambridge for our daughter’s wedding and needed a dog sitter for our 14 year old Bichon, Bailey. Serenity was absolutely outstanding. She provided amazing care, lots of cuddles, walks and provided lots of pictures to us throughout both evenings we needed her services. Bailey had an amazing time and loved all the attention he received. Serenity went above and beyond, even cleaning up the kitchen! I highly recommend Serenity for your dog sitting needs, and she is such a sweet person too!

Victoria is so sweet and took amazing care of my two pups. She is flexible and easy to communicate with, including when I needed to reschedule. The day of the visit she was welcoming and patient with my anxious dogs; she even got them toys, which they have been playing with at home. Victoria is a very thoughtful, experienced, and caring sitter, and I will definitely be booking with her again!
Shobhit was fantastic. He was able to meet with us for a meet and greet on short notice and we immediately felt that he would be good with our dogs. He house sat for us and took great care to ensure that all of the needs of Bazynga and Bootstrap were met and provided us with prompt feedback and photos. I would not hesitate to refer him to anyone and look forward to our next booking.

Michelle is a total pro! She doggiesat my pups - one who is a newer rescue and still a little high maintenance but she was confident, calm, and lovely with them. I felt very comfortable with her in our home and look forward to booking her again in the future! Highly recommend.

Abby was AMAZING. Having someone housesit is always a bit nerve wracking. But Abby just puts you at ease. Our dogs took right to her, as well as our new kitten. You can see she just loves the animals and is simply just good people. She was very communicative and sent lots of written as well as photo updates. No hesitation to have Abby care for our pets again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Cambridge on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,160 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Cambridge. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cambridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cambridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cambridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
