“This was the first time we had left Rudy (4.5 months old) for any extended period of time since she had come home with us. I was very anxious about how she would handle being away from us, but she made a new family at Andrea's! From the many photos I received, it was evident that Rudy was right at home with Andrea. We will definitely be booking her again for any of our dog sitting needs!”

“Great with Casper We had peace of mind while attending a family wedding away Had so much contact everyday on Casper and updates on his dialysis routine He seemed to be on vacation with Prashant and apeksha. We would diffidently recommend him and use them again Thank you for making it easy for us all”

“Gail was awesome, taking care of our dog Wally in her home for 5 days and nights in March 2026. Wally was walked 3x per day, and we felt totally comfortable after an initial meet and greet that Wally would be in good hands while we went on vacation. Gail accommodated an early morning drop off so we could catch our flights. And we got lots of pictures while away which we loved. If you need someone to take care of your dog, and love them like you do, don’t hesitate to contact Gail !”

About: I am a freelance writer with about 5 years of dog-sitting experience, my family also owned a cat for over 10 years. (She loved me best). I am new to the dog-sitting community, however, I am confident that I provide your pet with the care it deserves. I will do my best to ensure any specific requirements for your pooch are met, as I respect and maintain the owner's rules and needs for the best of their dog's care. I will do whatever it takes to help your pet feel healthy, happy, and loved. I know animals are not pets they are a family member. :) Picture updates throughout the day can be made available. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me.

About: I’ve lived with pets my entire life, and have seen all kinds of personalities and needs. I’m always attentive of individual pet needs and treat them like my own. I work full time 8-4 and currently often go away on weekends from Friday-Sunday. Otherwise I’m home the whole time after work to give lots of attention. I can also go home during lunch if ever needed. I’ve recently moved into a new home and have an empty basement at the moment which won’t be furnished for a few more months. Your cat can have their own very large space there with a bedroom included for them. Dogs can enjoy the whole house with me if they are friendly with my cat, and enjoy plenty of space in my large fenced backyard.
“Cindy & Marc are great hosts. We had a change of plan at the last minute and they were very accomodative. Oreo really enjoyed their company. We would definitely take their services in the future too.”

About: What sets me apart is the safe, structured, and loving environment I provide. I have a fully fenced yard, baby gates for extra safety, and experience caring for a wide range of dogs, including Golden Doodles, French Bulldogs, and mixed breeds. I’m comfortable with small and medium dogs, dog walking, house sitting, and hosting dogs in my home for longer stays. I also have reliable transportation and strong communication. Additionally, I’m an educator with open availability starting this summer, and evening and weekend availability for now, making my schedule flexible and dependable for pet parents. I am an educator with evening and weekend availability. I will have open availability for the summer. During the summer I will be able to spend full days with you dog. When caring for pets in my home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time and baby gates inside to help manage space, support routines, and keep pets safe. Dogs can relax on the couch, explore the yard, or settle into a quiet space depending on their needs. I keep their routine consistent with yours, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your routines closely so your pet feels comfortable and stress-free. I take my time getting to know their personality, comfort level, and any specific needs such as medications, senior care, or extra reassurance. I keep your home tidy, respect your space, and send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. No matter where I’m caring for your pet, I prioritize safety, communication, and giving them lots of love, attention, and gentle structure so they feel secure and happy.
“We were planning a trip and knew it would be more difficult to do some of the things on our list with our dog present. So last minute, I googled to try to find a kennel in the area. I've owned dogs my entire life and have never left them somewhere else, so wanted to see what was being offered. I came across Rover and leaving her with a family instead of a kennel sounded so much better; I didn't even know this existed! Valerie got back to me promptly, confirming her availability to watch our Indie. From the moment we arrived, she was warm and welcoming, and we knew Indie would enjoy her stay. We were provided with updates, and they really enjoyed having her there. I highly recommend Valerie to care for your pup; our girl came back happy and healthy, and should we ever need someone to watch her again, we will be making Valerie our first choice !”

About: What truly sets me apart is my calm, confident energy and my belief that every dog deserves love, safety, and stimulation — even when you can’t be there. I treat every pet like my own, because I know how much they mean to you. I have lived with animals all my life. I have experience with cats, dogs, hamsters, various types of lizards and chicks. I work full time very close to home. I am available most weekends and evenings for walks or any other needs you may have ! Large unfenced yard Lots of walks, long leashes for free exploration. Can take to dog parks if needed. At home, all animals are allowed on the furniture. Bed included.
“Amazing Dog Sitter! I can’t say enough good things about Michelle & her kids Clive & Eleanor. From the moment we met, I knew my dog was in great hands. They took the time to get to know Sullys personality, routine, and quirks, which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. When I drop Sully off, he hops out of the car & happily goes off with Michelle. No hesitation. Throughout the entire stay, Michelle sent regular updates and adorable photos, showing just how happy and comfortable Sully was. It was clear that they treated my dog like part of the family — with plenty of love, attention, and playtime. When I came home, my dog was relaxed, well cared for. I highly recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and professional sitter. I’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Rie and Masahiro were wonderful sitters for my dog, Laika (65lbs). She needed some extra love and attention, and they were incredibly accommodating. Their communication throughout was excellent, sending me regular updates and pictures, which really reassured me while I was away. Laika seemed so happy and well cared for during her stay with them. I would definitely use their services again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring dog sitters.”

About: I can read pets moods and comfort levels well. Shy or scared dogs feel comfortable with me because I take it slow and let them come to me. I’ve taken care of young kittens and an older diabetic cat. I care for other people’s pets like they're my own and take the responsibility very seriously. I also love playing with cats and dogs, I have a lot of fun bringing out that side of them. I work freelance jobs remotely from my home and have a flexible schedule. I run a side karaoke business so some evenings I am busy. I am available throughout the week and weekends. I have a fenced yard and one small shih tzu named Andy. I take care of pets by first building a relationship of trust with them, giving them whatever space they need to feel comfortable and taking extra time to do this properly. I can manage medications well and medicated shampoo baths. My current dog has allergies and my previous cat had diabetes so I have a range of care experience.
“Claudia is an angel for doggies!! She has been nothing shy of an angel to our two senior boy dogs. Her status updates and sharing photos keeps us feeling aware and she clearly is loved by them as they have wagging tails in every video! We will definitely continue to work with her as a sitter!”

“I was dubious about leaving my dogs with someone I didn't know, but the couple I decided to leave them with are simply amazing!! My dogs loved them so much and they created a bond with the sitters dog too. I received daily updates and photos and was so happy to know by babies were in safe hands. Thank you so much for raking care of my fur babies. I will definitely be in contact again, and I highly recommend this couple to look after your dogs in a safe friendly and caring home.”

“We were pretty sure Jasmin didn't want to come!!!! She obviously had a great time with Kayla!!! Such a great time she slept for 2 days after. Highly recommend Kayla and Jasmin can't wait for her next visit!”

“I would definitely recommend her! She took great care of my pup and kept me updated the entire time he was staying with her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
