“Brandon was fantastic looking after our dogs and our home. He was super responsive, sent lots of photos and regular updates, and we always felt confident the dogs were happy and well cared for. He also left the house spotless when we got back, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely recommend Brandon and look forward to having him watch our dogs again!!”

“Kristina put our minds at ease while we were travelling by keeping us updated on everything happening at home. I was especially nervous about leaving our cats, and there ended up being a heat wave while we were away! Kristina sent several updates each day, complete with photos and notes about the cats' behaviour, which was incredibly reassuring. She followed our admittedly unusual feeding schedule perfectly and gave our cats so much love, playtime, and attention. She also kept us informed about how things were going around the house (thankfully it never got too hot inside!). It's clear that Kristina genuinely cares about both the pets and the homes she looks after. She took exceptional care of our cats and our home, and we returned to two happy, relaxed cats and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. Thank you, Kristina!”

“Juliet was wonderful! Her communication was excellent, with regular updates that really helped put me at ease while I was away. I came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend!”

“Linda arrived when we agreed and took great care of our pup. She provided real time updates and even shared photos. She left our home clean and followed all care instructions. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Ethan was an excellent sitter for our dog while we were out of town!! He responded quickly to messages and handled a last-minute booking change with ease. He kept us updated throughout the stay, which gave us peace of mind :)”

“Our senior boys were in great hands with Walter and looked relaxed and happy once we returned. Walter was very communicative and sent us photos so we knew how they were doing while we were away! Great experience”

“Our 2 goldens absolutely loved spending their weekend at home with Lisa. She is a true dog lover in every sense, and such a pleasure to coordinate with. She is incredibly attentive and quick to communicate, which I so appreciated. We will absolutely be using Lisa again in the future and our pups can't wait! XO”

“Heather was amazing! It was our families first time booking a house/pet sitter for our dogs outside of family and our first time leaving one of our dogs. Not only did Heather come and do a pre-visit but was beyond amazing with both my dogs. She sent photos and updates the week we were away and it was abundantly clear both my dogs adored her. She also managed workers that needed to come to my home due to a leak right before our trip which was a huge relief. Definitely recommend Heather to anyone! We will for sure be booking her again in the future.”

“Paula was excellent! We had to go away and needed a sitter over night for our boy and she was phenomenal. We got updates throughout the evening and morning after, pictures of our dog and her together and I know he got lots of love! She is very outgoing and I can tell my dog likes his new friend! I will definitely be going to Paula for any of our future needs!”

About: Since I was born, my family has owned dogs. Growing up, I had two big dogs, a Husky, Collie mix names Fisher and German Shephard, Rottweiler mix named Sam. Our next pup was a mutt named Bolt that we had rescued from the Highway up in Northern Muskoka. She was a small dog with a Boxer, Pug and Terrier mix. It wasn't until 2016 when I saved my first cat from being hit by a car, Mango, that I was fully taking care of my onw pet. To date, we now have a Husky Australian Shephard puppy named Luna, and Mango and another little black kitty named Jolene. I also live with a Rottweiler Lab mix named Poppy, who is such a sweetie, and a crazy ginger kitten named Hippo. I am well versed in dog and cat handling, and will take extra care and time with your pets. There is no limit to the amount of love they will receive while in my care! In my house currently, we have three cats and a dog. I would say that pet care is a major priority in my day. Feeding, walking, cleaning up after and caring for our babies is absolutely part of my daily life. I will ensure your pets are handled with the highest professional care. They will have a constant eye on them so long as I am caring for them. They are my top priority and I will ensure that they are safe during walkings, feedings, play and cuddle time. I take pet enrichment very seriously and will ensure your pet is sleepy at the end of the day.
“Andrew was outstanding with our two dogs. He was kind and patient, they settled right down around him. We lived the pics & videos Andrew provided, reassuring us our dogs were in good hands!”

“Sarah was AMAZING!! She took such great care of our fur babies!!! It was so nice to know that Chloe & Oreo were in good hands so we could relax and enjoy our vacation. We highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I’ve always had a love for animals and have hands-on experience caring for pets. I currently have two cats of my own, and I’ve also raised and cared for a puppy, so I understand the patience, attention, and responsibility that comes with caring for pets. I’m comfortable with feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, giving lots of love and attention, and keeping pets comfortable and safe. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I’m happy to follow each owner’s instructions to make sure their pet feels happy, safe, and cared for while they’re away. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and give them plenty of love, attention, and care! Pet care is a central part of my daily routine. With availability across morning, afternoon, and evening hours, I easily schedule visits around feeding times, potty breaks, and playtime. Whether it's an early morning check-in or an evening drop-in, I structure my day to ensure every pet gets consistent, on-time care and attention. When providing drop-in care at a client's home, I focus on safety, cleanliness, and keeping your pets on their normal daily routines. I strictly follow all feeding, playtime, and care instructions, make sure feeding and litter areas stay clean, and always double-check that all doors, gates, and locks are secure before leaving. I treat your home with total respect and ensure your pets get quality, individual attention and love every time I visit!
About: Hi! I’m Laura, and I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for well over 10 years. I’ve cared for my own pets as well as family, friends’, and neighbours’ animals, and I’ve had experience with a wide variety of dog breeds and personalities, including small breeds, large guardian breeds and high-energy herding breeds. I'm the type to occasionally and very casually (and safely) cross the street to ask if I can pet your dog. I’m responsible, active, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’d love to help keep your pets happy and comfortable at home, out on a walk, or just by checking in. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I’m a mature student in a hybrid program, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time with the pets in my care. I’m happy to follow your routines and instructions closely, and I understand that caring for your home is part of the responsibility too. I’ll treat your space with the same care and respect I give your animals. House sitting is my favourite way to care for pets because I know how much easier it can be for them to stay in their own home and follow their usual routine while their people are away. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means an energetic walk, plenty of fetch or playtime, a quiet companion for a shy cat, or simply keeping an older dog comfortable and settled.

Five stars doesn't do justice to the outstanding care Kristina provided for our 2 dogs on our country property. As soon as we met Kristina we knew she would be very competent and caring and we were not disappointed. Kristina is an excellent communicator. We really appreciated all the photos and notes she sent while we were away. When we returned home the house was clean and our dogs were happy. Kristina will be our go to person for all future sits and we would not hesitate to recommend her. Thank you Kristina. You are awesome!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brant maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brant walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brant choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
