“Heather, thank you so much for your wonderful 5 star care of Sophie. You did such an amazing job with her that she was waiting at the door 30 minutes after you left looking for her new best friend. You are a natural and we could not be happier. Great job and highly recommended. John and Barb ( and Sophie. LOL)”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and currently have pets of my own, so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. Over the years I’ve looked after pets for family and friends, including walking, feeding, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m patient, dependable, and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and routine. As a recent Psychology graduate who works part-time as a suicide crisis responder, I bring a calm, compassionate, and responsible approach to every interaction. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos while you’re away. I currently work from home, which gives me flexibility throughout the week for dog walks and drop-in visits. I’m happy to accommodate regular or occasional bookings whenever possible and thrive on punctuality, communicative and being dependable.always aim to be punctual, communicative, and dependable. As I work from home and always surrounded by my own animals, I want to extend my love and attention to yours, whenever and wherever. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take instructions serious and follow carefully and to exact detail, including feeding schedules, walking routines, medications, and any special care your pet may need. I’m attentive on walks, keep dogs securely leashed unless otherwise instructed, and treat every home with respect. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, and I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind!

I’m excited to meet some new furry friends and give them all the belly rubs, walks, cuddles, and attention they deserve! 🐶🐾 I’m a stay home mom, so I’m always home with your pets to give them the attention and care they may need! “Andreea did such an amazing job watching our dog and cat while we were gone for 2 days for our wedding. Andreea stayed in contact and provided regular updates on both animals. Our dog has separation anxiety, Andreea did a really good job keeping her calm and making her as comfortable as possible while we were away. We have already booked Andreea for another stay. Would highly recommend booking Andreea for any kind of pet care!”
About: I own a 3year old poodle dog. I know how to make them behave and understand the basics. I play with pets and can feed them. I do not have any full time job or work to do right now. As I pet my poodle dog I have keen interest in other dogs as I can utilize my free time playing and spending time with them. My pet does have breakfast and then I take her on a walk and make sure she behaves outside gently with other people and I take her to leash free dog park so she has her enjoyable time.
About: As a multiple dog Mom, I have LOTS of experience with puppies and dogs of all ages. From whelping puppies to caring for senior dogs in their final days I’ve been there. I treat my crew like my kids (maybe better) 😂 because they are family. I could spend hours snuggling and playing because it brings me as much joy as it does them. I am passionate about teaching my dogs manners on leash and around the house, so I have done lots of training with my crew and helped others as well. I know it can be hard to trust people with your furbabes which is why I decided to offer my services, because I would want someone like me caring for my crew when I couldn’t be there. I am a SAHM with 3 older kids, (18,14,11) so I am available during the day and evenings through the week and weekends as well as through the night should that be required. I am available to come to your home to care for your dogs to make things more comfortable and convenient for you and yours. I can follow your routines and instructions as needed. I could accommodate in my home in special circumstances with notice, we have different sized crates available and a fenced in back yard, however we do have multiple dogs in the home and this could essentially feel intimidating for some dogs.
“Cassidy was so much help! She did such a good job taking care of my babies. She gave lots of updates and super cute pictures! I would definitely book again! Very recommended!”

“Brandon was an amazing friend for Buddy while we were away. It was great having Buddy cared for in his own home and he enjoyed spending time with Brandon in familiar surroundings. I highly recommend Brandon to anyone looking for loving care for their fur baby 😊”

“Paula is awesome! We were nervous about leaving our special needs little pug with her, but she made a couple of visits out to our house ahead of time, got to know him and his needs, and he felt so comfortable with her straight away we knew he would be in good hands. She cares a lot about the animals left in her care, and we’re so grateful for her 🫶”

“Aaron did a great job taking care of our 2 giant fur babies, our home and our plants! He provided updates and pictures and I felt secure that everything was well taken care of while we were away for 5 days. We came home to happy dogs, a clean house and peace of mind! I would happily hire him again next time we go away.”

About: I am conveniently located near both 401 and 403 highways! I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 13 years. I am now staying at home but would like to continue caring for pets. We have a dog of our own as well. He loves all dogs and enjoys having furry playmates. I am able to give medications, including injections, such as insulin. I can also do some basic grooming if needed, such as nail trims and brush outs. There is lots of room to run and play on our 2 acre property and my 2 kids who love animals and give them lots of extra attention. I look forward to meeting everyone's fur babies and caring for them as if they were my own!
“We left our fur family with Walter while we were gone for a week, the longest we have left everyone with someone who wasn’t family. We felt at ease so quickly - Walter arrived right on time and sent many updates and photos through the week so we could stay connected with what was happening back home. Our home was just as we left it when we came back, and we won’t hesitate to have Walter come back to watch everyone again! Thank you Walter!”

“Sonya is great with communication and replies quickly, showed up early and stayed in touch multiple times throughout the day sending pictures of our boys. We'll definitely be reaching out again in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m Laura, and I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for well over 10 years. I’ve cared for my own pets as well as family, friends’, and neighbours’ animals, and I’ve had experience with a wide variety of dog breeds and personalities, including small breeds, large guardian breeds and high-energy herding breeds. I'm the type to occasionally and very casually (and safely) cross the street to ask if I can pet your dog. I’m responsible, active, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’d love to help keep your pets happy and comfortable at home, out on a walk, or just by checking in. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I’m a mature student in a hybrid program, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time with the pets in my care. I’m happy to follow your routines and instructions closely, and I understand that caring for your home is part of the responsibility too. I’ll treat your space with the same care and respect I give your animals. House sitting is my favourite way to care for pets because I know how much easier it can be for them to stay in their own home and follow their usual routine while their people are away. I’m attentive to each pet’s individual needs, whether that means an energetic walk, plenty of fetch or playtime, a quiet companion for a shy cat, or simply keeping an older dog comfortable and settled.
“I can't thank you enough for watching our little pet family. I was a very nervous first time Rover pet parent but you put my mind at ease right from the meet and greet. I appreciated the updates throughout the stay and can't recommend you enough. Thank you Yoda!”

She kept me well updated with how the dogs were doing, including lots of pictures. We plan to have her back to stay with our girls ! We would definitely recommend hiring her.”

“Kiera was amazing with my puppy! 🥰 My pup is super high-energy, and Kiera handled her so well. She was happy and comfortable with Kiera the entire time, and Kiera even took her out for four walks! I really appreciated how attentive, patient, and caring she was. I felt completely comfortable leaving my puppy with her. 100% recommend Kiera and would definitely book her again!”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodstock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodstock walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodstock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 76% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
