“Claudia was great!! I was so nervous leaving my boys they are my world! She was so good and patient with them. She sent me lots of messages, photos and videos that sent me comfort. I hope they were gods for her! 😆 thanks again Claudia!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Jasmeet. Both she and her husband cared for our senior dog with kindness and patience. It gave us peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear he was treated with lots of love. We would not hesitate to book again and recommend this sitter.”

“Zoey had an awesome 2 nights! Constant updates and pictures go a long way. Zoey was so tuckered out from all the attention and play time she was given. Highly recommend!”

About: I have over 12+ years of dog ownership experience as well as 3+ years experience in dog adoption/fostering. Taking care of other people's pets is second nature to me. As a dog owner myself, I understand that it is stressful to relinquish control of your pets care to someone else. I was caught up in the business of the 9-5 workday and stressed to find care for my dogs that was personable and affordable. I have recently lost my job and in the midst of looking for work, I decided to open up my home to some furry friends! **I am only able to provide care from 8am-6pm daily for doggy daycare** I am currently searching for my next job opportunity since being laid off. I have daily available during the work day with overnight care offered if needed. I have a fully fenced, large yard as well as two dogs of my own. The care for your dog would be directly in my home, they wouldn't be outside all day/ignored. If the weather is bad, we may just sit back and watch TV after playtime! My dogs are very friendly and playful but I do have a dachshund who is very small, therefore I can only accept dogs that are 40lbs and under.
“Eva and her husband were fantastic! They had experience with the stubbornness of dachshunds and were so kind and understanding with my two grumpy senior wieners. Eva provided lots of updates and photos throughout their visit. Their house and neighbourhood are well set up for doggie guests. So grateful I was able to attend a work event in Toronto with peace of mind that my dogs were safe and well looked after.”

“I would definitely recommend her! She took great care of my pup and kept me updated the entire time he was staying with her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

“Ginger had the pleasure of staying with Cindy and Mark for a second time. She was well looked after and I can tell she misses them already. We would not hesitate to have them care for her in the future again.”

“Edward and his family are awesome. They took really good care of Tako while we had to be away and Tako loves them. Couldn't be more happy to have found a 2nd home and family that Tako (and us) love!”

“Amazing dog sitters, sent us constant pictures of our puppy, reassuring us he was okay and having a great time! Their setup is amazing, perfect for dogs of all sizes. They gave our puppy an adorable crochet collar!”

“Awesome stay, really helped us out! Very much appreciated the daily updates and pictures, it was really comforting to see our dog have fun while we were away.”

“This past weekend our family used Rover for the first time and Adam kindly and quickly responded to my booking request as well as any questions I had. He kept contact throughout Nova's stay and sent us pictures along the way. It was FANTASTIC to be able to go away and have her stay in a safe, warm and caring environment. We would highly recommend and hope to book with Adam again in the future.”

“Gail was awesome, taking care of our dog Wally in her home for 5 days and nights in March 2026. Wally was walked 3x per day, and we felt totally comfortable after an initial meet and greet that Wally would be in good hands while we went on vacation. Gail accommodated an early morning drop off so we could catch our flights. And we got lots of pictures while away which we loved. If you need someone to take care of your dog, and love them like you do, don’t hesitate to contact Gail !”

“Kimberly and her husband Kevin are fantastic. Orly had her first overnight and came home tired and happy. I know she gets lots of love and attention. She is looking forward to her next vacation at Kimberly's.”

About: I have lived on a farm all my life. I have been taking care of animals for most of my life. I ensure good care of animals. I would take them for a walk, reward good behaviours with treats. I have a lot of property that I could take a dog to go on a walk. I have a Golden Retriever and her name is Juno, she is 3yr old and she is very friendly to all dogs . Mostly I am at home that gives me availability to take care of dogs on even short notice. I have lots of space on the farm for the dogs which is great for energetic dogs. I always have them on a leash for trust to be built, and so they are next to me at all times. I have my own space in my parents house so a more reserved dog can build trust at their own level.
“Dawn was a lifesaver! Our original sitter canceled last minute, and Dawn accepted our booking the same day. We were so grateful she could take Choki in on such short notice. She kept us updated with photos and took amazing care of him. When I picked him up, he was calm, happy, and even freshly washed and groomed—he looked better than when we dropped him off! I couldn’t recommend Dawn more. She’s caring, professional, and truly goes above and beyond. Thank you, Dawn!”

“Sara and Rick were amazing dog sitters! They were very friendly, easy to communicate with, and kept me updated throughout the stay. My dog was clearly happy and well taken care of. I’d definitely trust them again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
