“We had Sonja watch our crew of 4 of fur babies. Having someone look after 4 dogs is no small feat and Sonja managed them like she had known them forever. She sent us pictures and regular updates daily putting our mind at ease. We came home to happy relaxed dogs who clearly felt completely comfortable with her. She is 5 PLUS stars and we are so grateful to have found her.”

“Walter stayed at our house over the long weekend to take care of our 2 German Shepherds. When we arrived home the house looked exactly as we left it, and the dogs were happy, even sleepy. Walter communicated with us during the weekend with photos and a couple texts. We are happy with Walter and would use his services again.”

“I can't thank you enough for watching our little pet family. I was a very nervous first time Rover pet parent but you put my mind at ease right from the meet and greet. I appreciated the updates throughout the stay and can't recommend you enough. Thank you Yoda!”

“Brandon was a welcome companion for Buddy when we were away. Buddy was happy and content and so well care for. Looking forward to have Brandon stay with Buddy again in future 😊🐕”

“Brittany did such a wonderful job keeping our cat fed, cared for, and entertained! We had total peace of mind knowing she was giving him snuggles and love. Brittany was attentive, sent lots of photos and videos, and responded promptly to messages. Our house was spotless when she left. We will definitely rebook her for future house sits :)”

About: I have lived with a dog my whole life! For as long as I can remember my family, friends, and people in my community have asked me to take care of their pets and I am always happy to do so, whether they need me just to walk or feed their pet because they are running late or for a longer period of time. I am good with dogs of any age! I am currently a full time student in college, my weekends are always free. I am currently doing a work placement in Stratford and I am usually gone from 6:30 AM till about 3:30/4:00 PM during the week. When it comes to caring for a pet, I will do the obvious things like ensuring they are kept out of danger and safe, never outside without a leash unless of course in their own fenced in yard. Of course if the pet owner would like additional and specific precautions taken they can always inform me and I will follow it
“Heather, thank you so much for your wonderful 5 star care of Sophie. You did such an amazing job with her that she was waiting at the door 30 minutes after you left looking for her new best friend. You are a natural and we could not be happier. Great job and highly recommended. John and Barb ( and Sophie. LOL)”

“Our 2 goldens absolutely loved spending their weekend at home with Lisa. She is a true dog lover in every sense, and such a pleasure to coordinate with. She is incredibly attentive and quick to communicate, which I so appreciated. We will absolutely be using Lisa again in the future and our pups can't wait! XO”

About: Hi! I’m an experienced and reliable dog lover with hands-on experience working at a kennel, daycare, boarding facility, and breeder. I am also in school studying veterinary medicine!! I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and ages — from giant Irish Wolfhounds to tiny newborn puppies. I also have experience helping train new litters and working with dogs that need extra patience and behavioural support. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority, and I’ll care for them like they’re my own! I’m currently off school for the summer, which gives me lots of flexibility and availability for pet care! I also work a part-time job, but my schedule is very manageable and I still have plenty of time to dedicate to walks, drop-ins, daycare, etc; as long as I have some notice. I’m happy to work with your schedule and make sure your pets get the attention and care they deserve! At the moment I’m unable to offer boarding or care in my own home, but I’m more than happy to travel to clients’ homes for walks, drop-ins and, daycare. I want pets to feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible in their own environment!
“Caroline was so great with my pets! She was so attentive and kept me updated all the time. Our pets were so happy and well cared for. I will definitely have Caroline sit for me again, she is lovely!!”

“Truly amazing to enjoy a night away knowing my cats were in good hands. Lauren sent updates on the boys (my cats) and pictures. I love that I didn't even have to ask for this because as a fellow cat mom she knew I would appreciate this added touch. We will definitely have Lauren back and look forward to another trip away with peace of mind. Thanks Lauren!!”

“We had an excellent experience with Emily house sitting and watching our two dogs. She was extremely attentive to the girls and quick to respond. She kept me well updated with how the dogs were doing, including lots of pictures. We plan to have her back to stay with our girls ! We would definitely recommend hiring her.”

About: I have lived and worked in a CKC Registered dog kennel growing up, very familiar with taking care of English Bulldogs and Frenchies specifically. I have also been a pet sitter for many family members with all different breeds, friends and coworkers over the years. I have experience with many dog breeds small to large, cats, small-animals and reptiles. Keeping it laid back is also perfect, a roam around the neighborhood where you're located is a great option also!
About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and currently have pets of my own, so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. Over the years I’ve looked after pets for family and friends, including walking, feeding, playtime, and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m patient, dependable, and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and routine. As a recent Psychology graduate who works part-time as a suicide crisis responder, I bring a calm, compassionate, and responsible approach to every interaction. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own, and I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos while you’re away. I currently work from home, which gives me flexibility throughout the week for dog walks and drop-in visits. I’m happy to accommodate regular or occasional bookings whenever possible and thrive on punctuality, communicative and being dependable.always aim to be punctual, communicative, and dependable. As I work from home and always surrounded by my own animals, I want to extend my love and attention to yours, whenever and wherever. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take instructions serious and follow carefully and to exact detail, including feeding schedules, walking routines, medications, and any special care your pet may need. I’m attentive on walks, keep dogs securely leashed unless otherwise instructed, and treat every home with respect. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, and I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind!
About: Growing up, we always had pets in the family, and over the years I've cared for everything from puppies and kittens to senior pets with more specialized needs. What I enjoy most about pet sitting is getting to know each animal's personality. Every pet is different, and I like figuring out what each one enjoys most! I enjoy meeting all pets on their own terms. Over the years, I've gained experience with puppy training, recall, enrichment, senior care, and administering oral, liquid, topical, eye, and ear medications. I've also cared for pets with anxiety, seizure disorders, blindness, deafness, and reactivity, so I understand how important patience, routine, and consistency are. The biggest reason I'm on Rover is simple. I genuinely love being around animals. Since moving away for university, one of the things I've missed most is having pets in my everyday life. My goal is to make sure your pet feels comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they're in good hands. As a student, my schedule starting in September will be based on my course schedule. ***Calendar to be updated by August 25th, please inquire about specific dates directly until then*** My goal is to keep your pet's routine as normal as possible while you're away. I believe each pet is unique, so I customize my care to suit their personality and comfort level. If I'm staying in your home, I'm happy to bring in mail, water plants, and keep things tidy while you're away. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and doing well. Right now, I offer walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I do not offer boarding.
“Aaron did a great job taking care of our 2 giant fur babies, our home and our plants! He provided updates and pictures and I felt secure that everything was well taken care of while we were away for 5 days. We came home to happy dogs, a clean house and peace of mind! I would happily hire him again next time we go away.”

About: Hello! My name is Mike and I've been fostering dogs since 2019. I've had approximately 18 come and go, only foster "failing" (foster dogs who I ended up keeping) with two who stayed and had the best golden years. I lost my most recent boy in August, a blind Bichon, just shy of his 12th birthday and after 3 great years. He was type-1 diabetic and blind, and after so much time as a foster getting his insulin regulated, he decided I was his forever family. He had a sister when I got him, a senior Yorkie with diabetes insipidus and a host of health issues. All that is to say I'm a professional at insulin, rigid medication schedules and diet maintenance. Presently I have no dogs of my own. When it comes to your dog, I'll keep your daily routine and walk schedules too, so your pups stay is as minimally disruptive to their normal routine as possible. I've fostered dogs of many breeds from Chihuahuas and a Rat Terrier to a Golden Retriever and Saint Bernard. I've had as many as 4 dogs at once so I'm open to having multiple pups at once. I'll never accept dogs from multiple families unless both families are booking together and the dogs are socialized with each other already. And I'll never cancel a confirmed stay for a more lucrative multi-dog request. I live alone in a detached house in Wallaceburg, and I work from home so your dog won't be left alone aside from short errands. I'm not big on crating dogs, leaving them free to be where they like while I'm gone. I have a den with glass door if you tell me they need smaller quarters, or you can bring your crate for me to use. I have a large fenced yard for playing fetch or dogs who need to run. This is a total dog house. I bought it due to its flat land and not having stairs, and I built a ramp down to the yard. I installed a dog door but it will stay blocked unless having access is suitable for your pups. Dogs are welcome on the couch and the bed, and will have free roam of the house (there's no basement, and garage isn't accessible). House sitting radius: the Rover app limits a 100km radius when setting the territory I can offer the services. I've got my radius set Eastward to circle Toronto, as I grew up there and love an opportunity to take gigs that get me into the city. Unfortunately I can't draw a circle that includes Windsor, but I'm happy to take gigs there too. If you're in London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Brantford, or the GTA, and you have a dog that can be left alone for 2-3hrs max, I may be willing to offer discounts on price so I can catch up with family and friends in those areas while I'm there. If you have any questions or you'd like to arrange a tour or meet and greet, don't hesitate to reach out. I work fulltime hours from home, typical office hours. I'm usually awake by 7am and bed by midnight. I don't have many friends in town so I'm home most of the time. My yard is fully fenced. I have a couple Tile tracking tags that I can attach to their collar if they're an escape artist (or you'd like to track your pups location remotely). Hazardous items like cleaning products are kept in cupboards or in my detached garage. My house is pretty dog proofed and I'm not concerned if your pup has an accident. That's what mops and upholstery cleaners are for. I think I've developed pretty good dog body language, and only correct misbehaviour by command and redirection. I'm a bit of a sucker that let's them get carried away when they're being silly, but particularly with bigger dogs I'll make sure their training is maintained (no jumping up to greet, making sure they don't assert dominance etc.)
About: I have hands on experience training my two dogs Cora and Cooper both in obedience and in agility. This has allowed me to understand the importance of positive reinforcement and how to cater to individual dogs needs. In addition, I have professional dog sitting experience in a neighbors home, where I cared for and took them out for walks. This role has taught me how to approach and work with rescue dogs and adapt my care to different temperaments. I am attentive, patient and committed to providing excellent care and a safe environment for all pets. I currently work part time which allows flexibility to provide pet care in the evenings and on the weekends. I am open to overnight stays during the week and weekend as well if needed. I am committed to ensuring that your pets receive reliable care, attention and companionship while you are away. I ensure that my dogs are fed and taken care of. I also love to take them out for walks and on car rides! As a dog owner I understand the importance of safety, maintaining routines, regular exercise and lots of attention. I will care for your pets as if they were my own, taking the time to learn their individual needs, personalities, and routines. My goal is to create a safe, trustworthy, and positive environment where both pets and their owners can feel confident and at ease.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 363 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ingersoll. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ingersoll maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ingersoll walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ingersoll choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
