Paula is an absolutely incredible pet sitter! We had no idea Paula was available, sometimes, for house sitting and will hope for that option, as everything was perfect, the cats were so content.....came to the door but turned away almost disappointed it wasnt Paula 😅. Paula also accepted us last minute so that was amazingly helpful. Would 100 percent recommend Paula for any pet needs you have.

About: Hello! My name is Kristin, and I have always had a passion for spending time with many animals, especially dogs. I’ve grown up with pets ranging from fish, to birds to dogs. I’ve owned and taken care of many different breeds of dogs such as westies, yorkies, beagles and labs. My partner and I currently own two dogs, who are a very important part of our family. As a dog owner myself, I know how nerve racking it can be to leave your dog with a stranger. Therefore please feel free to ask me any questions, or let me know anyway that I can make you or your furry friend more comfortable with the visits. I hope to meet you and your furry friend soon!

About: I’ve lived with pets my entire life, and have seen all kinds of personalities and needs. I’m always attentive of individual pet needs and treat them like my own. I work full time 8-4 and currently often go away on weekends from Friday-Sunday. Otherwise I’m home the whole time after work to give lots of attention. I can also go home during lunch if ever needed. I’ve recently moved into a new home and have an empty basement at the moment which won’t be furnished for a few more months. Your cat can have their own very large space there with a bedroom included for them. Dogs can enjoy the whole house with me if they are friendly with my cat, and enjoy plenty of space in my large fenced backyard.

She did a great job at taking care of my three kitties. The wet food kitty dishes were cleaned with each visit, and so were the empty tins for recycling. Litter was cleaned daily and put into the outside bin. She has a positive happy attitude and even watered my front porch plants which I had forgotten about. She is trustworthy too if you worry about your home. She is Smiley approved!

I am self employed with a very flexible schedule. Last minute house sitting stays are my specialty. I typically prefer minimum 2-3 day bookings for locations that are over 50km away from me but if you're curious just shoot me a message and we can see what works. I am a confident and physically strong leash handler. Recognizing dog body language (particularly with excitable or reactive dogs) and being proactive is key (Dogs, like us, don't need to say hi to everyone that crosses their paths). About: I have worked at an animal shelter where I have trained dogs and gave them the utmost love which they deserves and a best pet sitter. While working, pet care fits into my routine by feeding pets in the morning and evening, ensuring they have fresh water throughout the day, and taking them for walks or playtime during breaks. If I work from home, I can give them attention during lunch or downtime. Weekly tasks like grooming or vet visits are scheduled for weekends or free time Caring for pets in a home involves providing proper nutrition, regular exercise, and mental stimulation. Ensuring they have a clean living space, regular vet check-ups, and attention to their emotional well-being is essential. For pets in a client's home, I follow their instructions carefully, maintain routines, and ensure their pets feel safe and comfortable. Regular communication with the pet owner is key to keeping everything in line with their expectations.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 6 years old , I remember how scared I was when I met my first dog , his name was sultan and honestly he was the one who took care of me and after that my love for them just expanded and still every time I see a dog I fall in love them . I work part time so so you can leave your loved one with me at nights or afternoons and for mornings we can figure something out . Note - there will be an additional charge depending on the distance I have to travel to get to your house.(estimate $6-8 for short distances) I work part time , so I am mostly home I usually take a one dog at a time unless your pet is comfortable with other pets. Before we book I prefer doing a meet and greet where we can talk and arrange something that meets your needs. I currently don’t have any pets of my own here , but I have an immense love for animals especially dogs , I live in a townhouse with a back yard where we can play and we can visit the nearby parks or trails if that’s what you want for your loved one .

About: I've always loved animals and have had many dogs, some cats and small animals in my life. I treated them all like the king and queens that they deserve to be and would treat yours the same. I like to sleep with animals in my bed and spoil them as much as you will allow me- if you have specific rules for your animal I will follow them. I want the pets to feel completely comfortable and for you to know that they are in good hands when you have to go away. I try to keep my dogs mentally active as well as physically active and I would hope to do the same for your pets. I babysat my neighbours cats for 20 years while they went away for weeks at a time. The cats loved me. I always make as much time for my pets or the pets I’m caring for. When you hire me, I will be devoting and doting on your animal. I’ve had rescue dogs all my life. They are either unfriendly with people or other animals. I’ve never had one of my dogs attack before. I’m always cautious on walks and in my surroundings. I always keep my dogs leashed for their safety and comfort.

About: PET CARE EXPERIENCE I’ve been around animals my whole life — from dogs to hamsters, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and cats — and have cared for many different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m comfortable with gentle handling, enclosure cleaning, basic feeding routines, and adjusting care to each pet’s energy, behavior, and routine. I genuinely enjoy learning each animal’s quirks and tailoring my care to help them feel safe, stimulated, and happy. With dogs, I like to incorporate mental enrichment through games and basic trick training — but only if you’re comfortable with it. I use hand gestures paired with verbal cues for clear, positive communication. Some fun commands I’ve worked on include: • “Statue” – freeze in place • “Quiet” – settle and stay calm • “Kiss” – stand still and allow a gentle kiss on the top of the pup’s head • “Out” / “Get your toy” / “In” – for toy retrieval and clean-up routines I previously offered in-home boarding but now focus solely on caring for pets in their own homes. That experience taught me how to manage routines, monitor behavior, and adapt to each pet’s unique needs with patience and care. After taking a break from pet sitting, I’m reopening my availability and excited to welcome new clients again. I’ve worked with pet parents through Rover and personal referrals, and I’m committed to providing dependable, respectful care. I’m currently self-employed and doing flexible gig work, which gives me the availability to prioritize pet care. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to match your pet’s needs. Whether your pet is energetic or reserved, I follow their routine, respect their personality, and ensure they feel safe, mentally engaged, and cared for while you’re away. SCHEDULE I’m currently self-employed and doing flexible gig work, which allows me to fit pet care smoothly into my weekly routine. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting, and can adjust my schedule to match your pet’s needs. Since I don’t work a traditional 9–5, I can provide attentive, reliable care — whether that’s multiple visits per day or overnight stays in your home. Your pet will always have someone calm, present, and focused on their comfort and routine. SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT I currently provide pet care in my clients’ homes, which allows pets to stay relaxed and comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow your routines closely — from feeding and walks to playtime and downtime — so your pet feels secure and well cared for while you’re away. I used to offer boarding in my home and have experience creating safe, calm spaces for pets. While I no longer board animals at my own residence, that experience taught me how to manage routines, monitor behavior, and respond to each pet’s unique needs with patience and care. I take pet care seriously and treat every home with respect — I’m clean, mindful of your space, and always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness.

About: I have a 9 year old shorkie and live with my sisters 5 year old aussie doodle as well. I love to shower dogs with love and affection and give them lots of walks. I have been dog sitting for as long as I can remember for family friends, and have experience with a wide variety of temperaments. I am very patient and caring to all animals. I’m working from home and for myself, so I have a flexible schedule to look after your pet, and a car to get to them. I take my own dogs for two 30 minute walks every morning and evening. I clean their bowls daily and make sure they always have water. I also love doing a puzzle with them every day to keep their minds active.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
