“ALICIA WAS THE BEST!! She took amazing care of our pup and kept us updated on her along the way. She's incredible with helping get our pet adjusted to a new space and kept as much of her regular routine the same as possible. Alicia is a dog lover through and through and knew just how to keep our Daisy girl content and comfortable. Thank you!!!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats. I’ve been around them my whole life and want to dedicate my future to helping animals as well. I have a few years of dog sitting experience in high school for families and friends. Currently unemployed so all my free time can be dedicated to taking care of your animals! Daily walks are a must and might as well have some dogs coming along! I follow instructions to the letter, I take precautions in new environments as well. All for the safety and comfort of your pets and myself.
“Emmi was amazing with my puppy! She kept me updated with photos and check ins the whole time, which gave me so much peace of mind. She took him to the dog park, made sure he was well cared for, and it was obvious he had a great time with her. Our puppy came home happy and well loved. I would absolutely book with Emmi again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!”

“This is the second time we left Riot with Catharine and her family and it’s nice to know that Riot is being well cared for. She even got to make new canine friends.”

“Chukwuezugo and spouse were excellent. They took care of my pet very well and I felt so happy to connect with them. Both Macey and I felt at home. They were so caring and professional. Even their dog was very friendly.”
About: I’m an experienced, caring dog lover who has raised dogs from puppies through their senior years. I live in a calm, quiet home with my 10 year-old daughter who is gentle, kind, and absolutely loves animals. I work from home full-time, so your dog will get plenty of attention, regular walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. We also have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and exercise. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies to senior dogs—and I can administer medication as needed. Your pet will enjoy a calm, loving, and safe environment with lots of movement, enrichment, and (of course) belly rubs. We also have a friendly 2-year-old male Standard Poodle who loves having dog friends. For everyone’s safety and comfort, I do not accept reactive or intact dogs. Your dog will be treated like family here ❤️ I work for a tech company fully remote, we do walks during the day and in the evening with lots of outdoor playtime in the backyard. I have a fenced yard which is safe and secure and your dog will have full access to the house but I can crate if nesseaary. Your furry family member will need to get along with my poodle so a pre visit is required.
“Jason and Jennifer were great with our dog Kenai even though she is just a puppy. They were very kind, flexible and most important: our dog had a great time! I'm sure she appreciated their fenced in yard, and social time with well behaved dogs. We look forward to day-care-drop-offs with them in the future!”

“Once again Shelby was amazing. With our special needs pup it is so reassuring to know that Bandit was cared with love and attention. To our surprise she remembered careful details about Bandit and this only re-enforced our comfort level knowing Bandit was in such a caring home. And Shelby's dog Willow is adorable and the perfect companion for furry visitors!”

About: Hi! So, growing up with a cat, I always wanted a dog (isn’t that always the way?). Within 6 weeks of purchasing our first home, rather than paint or get furniture, we got Dexter, a now 16-year old sheltie/terrier/pug cross (neutered). 3 years later we adopted Juno, a purebred Shiba Inu rescue from Ohio. Juno crossed the rainbow bridge at age 13 in November 2025 and I quickly realized I have far too much love for pets in me to only have one dog in my life! Oh and my son, who has grown up with TWO dogs, says he wants a cat. I am pet first aid certified through Canadian Red Cross. I am comfortable with multiple dogs at once in any shape, age or size. I also have experience house sitting cats and bunnies. I am self-employed and work remotely so I currently have a wide range of availability (weekdays, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends) to play with/supervise your pet! I have a large fenced in yard with one calm senior dog (male, neutered) and two small sized crates available if needed. I am an avid walker and have experience walking multiple dogs at once. I also have experience house sitting cats, bunnies and fish and am happy to try and not kill your plants.
“We were planning a trip and knew it would be more difficult to do some of the things on our list with our dog present. So last minute, I googled to try to find a kennel in the area. I've owned dogs my entire life and have never left them somewhere else, so wanted to see what was being offered. I came across Rover and leaving her with a family instead of a kennel sounded so much better; I didn't even know this existed! Valerie got back to me promptly, confirming her availability to watch our Indie. From the moment we arrived, she was warm and welcoming, and we knew Indie would enjoy her stay. We were provided with updates, and they really enjoyed having her there. I highly recommend Valerie to care for your pup; our girl came back happy and healthy, and should we ever need someone to watch her again, we will be making Valerie our first choice !”

About: What sets me apart is my experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities through rescue. I’ve cared for everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs and those needing extra patience or medical attention. I also trained puppies for Autism Dog Services, helping build strong foundations in obedience and confidence, and worked as a veterinary assistant for two years, giving me valuable knowledge of animal health, behavior, and recognizing when something isn’t quite right. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I currently work from home, so your animals needs will be met all day. I have a flexible schedule so even if you are crate training or socializing, I’m able to come and go as I please. My home is thoughtfully set up to meet the needs of dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. As an active foster, I have a variety of tools and equipment to ensure every dog feels safe and comfortable, including a fenced yard, crates (when appropriate), x-pens, and separate areas throughout the home. If I have a foster dog during your pet’s stay, I can easily provide each dog with their own dedicated space to ensure an stress-free environment. I prioritize one-on-one attention, individualized care, positive reinforcement training, and safe socialization based on each dog’s comfort level and needs.
“Kathryn and her girls took such great care of Diesel and I can’t thank them enough! Their dog Poppy was such a great friend for him too. From the moment the front door opened, Diesel walked right in with ease and felt at home. There was a great back yard to explore and parks and trails close by to venture out to. I appreciated the updates and photos Kathryn sent during his stay. It was obvious Diesel was well looked after, loved and spoiled with multiple walks and cuddles while I was away. Diesel had a great visit and loved every second of it! No doubt, he will miss the family, but I will definitely be booking back again the next time I need care for Diesel. Thank you SO much for providing such a loving and nurturing home away from home!”

“We are extremely happy we had to leave our home with short noses and with no hesitation Randi helped us oh and Trip had a ball And I was sleeping because he’s exhausted all the fun he had with her and your family”

“I would definitely recommend her! She took great care of my pup and kept me updated the entire time he was staying with her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!”

Jyll welcomed our 8 month old pup with loving arms. She was eager to get to know her routines and make sure she was comfortable. She updated us throughout the time, which was thoughtful reassurance as it was our pup’s first time away from us. We felt completely comfortable and at ease, knowing Jyll was taking exceptional care of her - and we will definitely be booking with Jyll again.

We are overjoyed to have found Jess and will be trusting her with our dog from here on out! Jess is super friendly and communicative from the beginning. She kept us updated with messages and photos the entire stay. We enjoyed how confident she was in taking care of our high energy Doberman, which made it so much easier to leave her. Our dog genuinely seemed to be smiling with Jess. She provided lots of excersise and socialization with other dogs. Super happy with our experience.

Thank you, Shannon for taking care of our boy Jax! It was great to see photos of him, enjoying his stay with you, and we can tell he was very happy! Of course this makes us very happy while we are away, knowing that he is in good hands. Thank you again. We are extremely grateful for your service! Rod and Michelle.

My dogs adapted to Jennifer and her family extremely well. With regular walks, playtime, and lots of TLC the dogs were very happy including our one that has separation anxiety. I would not hesitate to book with Jennifer again unless you are worried the dogs won’t want to leave Jennifer’s house like I was.
Carly was absolutely amazing with our dog, Toby! From the start, she made us feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. She was caring, reliable, and treated him like family. We loved getting updates and could tell Toby was happy, relaxed, and well looked after the entire time. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with Carly again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter!! Toby had such a blast and is currently catching up on some sleep! Thank you, Carly!!

Kathryn and her daughters were amazing! This was our first time leaving our dog with her and she made us feel so comfortable with regular photos and updates. It looked like Murphy was in great care, had a blast and loved spending time with them and their dog! We will definitely be asking Kathryn to watch Murphy again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
