“Rachel was very attentive and amazing with our 19 month old puppy. Our doggy was very well cared for and Rachel was very willing to accommodate her more difficult food regime. Rachel took her for all the walks she needed, cuddled with her and even took her swimming, which she loves!”

“Our dog was really well taken care of. Lots of updates and a very kind experience for our fur-baby. Hong and Mark’s love for dogs and commitment to ensuring a quality service is apparent in all their efforts. Will definitely use again.”

“Paige is so reliable and kind hearted. I can’t thank her enough for helping us out and going the extra mile to make things convenient for us when we needed it. Our pup pup feels so comfortable with her and we highly recommend her if you’re on the hunt for a great sitter!!”

“I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have Karen take care of my dog! She showed genuine affection and care since the first contact. Communication was seamless. Everyday she sent us picture and news! For sure Mel will be back in Karen’s house because I really feel peaceful and safe with her care! Thank you Karen and family!”

“Gail was awesome, taking care of our dog Wally in her home for 5 days and nights in March 2026. Wally was walked 3x per day, and we felt totally comfortable after an initial meet and greet that Wally would be in good hands while we went on vacation. Gail accommodated an early morning drop off so we could catch our flights. And we got lots of pictures while away which we loved. If you need someone to take care of your dog, and love them like you do, don’t hesitate to contact Gail !”

“Pei was excellent with Maggie Mae! She asked a lot of questions about her commands and habits, reinforced her training, introduced her to some new things (roosters!), and ensured that she got both lots of exercise and lots of snuggles. Maggie Mae loved playing with her Burmese Mountain Dog Oscar. Pei provided regular detailed updates and was fast on communication. Pei's house is definitely one of Maggie Mae's new favourite places and we will certainly rebook with Pei.”

“I would highly recommend Anbarasi and her husband, Ash. They accommodated my schedule with very little notice and did a fantastic job of making my Gracie’s stay comfortable and fun. They also gave me regular updates. I was completely confident that my girl was in good hands, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.”

“Rie and Masahiro always take fantastic care of our girl. They are the best, so reliable, and caring. We are returning customers and will always reach out to them ❤️”

“Randi did an amazing job looking after my beagle Gus! She sent lots of pictures and updates of their adventures. I felt good knowing I left Gus with someone who really cared for him and made sure he was happy and felt loved. I will definitely bring Gus back to Randi in the future!”
“Yaxnitza kindly accepted a last-minute request to take care of our dog for the long weekend. She was a great communicator, friendly, sent pictures and videos each day, and made sure to follow our routines and care schedule. Our dog was happy being dropped off and picked up and we felt confident with the care she was given. A big back yard to run and play in was also a plus! Overall a great experience - thank you!!”

“We've never used Rover before, but Madison and Jeffrey have been extremely patient with us and our boy, who is 8 years old and shy with strangers. They send us pics and updates regularly, which is helpful when I worry a lot. They're open to working with our dog's schedule, taking him for walks and letting him have his(overly large) crate to chill out in if he prefers to be there. If you're hesitant about using Rover, reach out to Madison and Jeffrey because they go above and beyond!”

“OMG. Valerie is so amazing!! Not only do I have a diabetic dog who requires 2 needles a day, 2 days before my booking he got an ear infection that required antibiotics and the day after he got an eye infection!!! Valerie took it all in stride and communicated with me to coordinate with my sister to get meds. AND she also had my cat. I was away for a month and she made it so easy not to worry about my fur babies. Her home is clean, modern and her own animals are obviously well cared for. Highly, highly recommend. I’d give her 10 stars if I could ☺️”

“Amanda and her family took amazing care of Ripley while we were away! From the initial meet and greet to the boarding of Ripley, Amanda made the entire process smooth and a positive experience for Ripley and us.”

“Our two cats stayed with Lynn for almost 50 days and she was simply the best pet sitter that we could ask for!! She sent videos, photos and was always letting us know how the cats were. I would 100% recommend here!”

“This was our dog’s first stay with Stephanie and Brandon and it went so well! They were warm and welcoming and helped him settle in right away. They provided ample updates throughout his time there and he looked thrilled and right at home in all of them. Wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again in the future. Thank you both for everything!”

“Kodi, our dog, tried to drag me into Mana’s and Ahmed’s home when we arrived. I appreciate receiving ongoing quick messages about his adventures. He came home relaxed and happy.”

“Perfect stay as always! Clover had an amazing time and Shannon made sure to send us pictures and videos throughout our stay. We will definitely be using Shannon in the future!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Guelph
- I cannot recommend Jenn enough! - Jenn cared for our sensitive German Shorthaired Pointer who is often anxious around new people and can be difficult to read; and our pup felt so comfortable and happy with her! - Jenn did a meet and greet with us prior to the booking, and you can tell she has a deep knowledge of dog behaviour and that was really reassuring for us - Jenn sent pictures and updates throughout the duration of Dallas' overnight stay, and he looked happy and at home in each one! - Her home has dog toys and is welcoming for pups of all types :) - we didn't worry at all while Dallas was away ; and will be returning to Jenn in the future!

Alicia took excellent care of my 18 year old dog! He requires some special care due to his poor eyesight and other age related issues, and Alicia was more than happy to accommodate all of his needs. She also sent updates and pictures during his stay there. I would highly recommend!

Uchenna was the ideal host for Piper! She was kind, communicated great, and sent frequent updates and pictures. Having her dog Owen around was a huge comfort, Piper had a sweet companion by her side the whole weekend. Her location right near the trails meant plenty of outdoor time for the dogs. As first-time boarders, we couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely use Uchenna again!

Pip had a great couple of days with John. He took her for lots of walks along the river and when we dropped it off, he took a straight away for a walk, which was nice because normally I don’t like leaving her and saying goodbye so she was just super excited to get going. We’d use John again for sure!
Jyll welcomed our 8 month old pup with loving arms. She was eager to get to know her routines and make sure she was comfortable. She updated us throughout the time, which was thoughtful reassurance as it was our pup’s first time away from us. We felt completely comfortable and at ease, knowing Jyll was taking exceptional care of her - and we will definitely be booking with Jyll again.

We are overjoyed to have found Jess and will be trusting her with our dog from here on out! Jess is super friendly and communicative from the beginning. She kept us updated with messages and photos the entire stay. We enjoyed how confident she was in taking care of our high energy Doberman, which made it so much easier to leave her. Our dog genuinely seemed to be smiling with Jess. She provided lots of excersise and socialization with other dogs. Super happy with our experience.

Thank you, Shannon for taking care of our boy Jax! It was great to see photos of him, enjoying his stay with you, and we can tell he was very happy! Of course this makes us very happy while we are away, knowing that he is in good hands. Thank you again. We are extremely grateful for your service! Rod and Michelle.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
