About: I've had dogs my entire life. Over the last 2 years I have been house/dog sitting , boarding and walking dogs for family and friends. I've enjoyed it so much that I decided to expand my group ☺️ 2 daily walks 30+ minutes each, special dietary requirements, baths as necessary or once weekly, dog park visits when allowed I currently work from home and have the flexibility of morning/evening walks as well as throughout the day pee/poo breaks and belly rubs! Weekends are play time for all, dog park!!!! I have a fenced in grass yard with tie out. I can easily crate your dog if needed. Each pup has different needs, I take detailed notes about what is required for your dog to be comfortable and happy during our time together.

I’ve fostered and had bunnies, cats, and dogs as family members. I’ve worked with rehabilitating wild animals. I have experience with high energy breeds (husky) as well as smart foot driven doggos. My family includes a Cockapoo named Rupert, who mostly now lives with my parents. With me your little guy or girl will get the utmost love, and be treated the same way I treat my own little boy. Aka lots of pictures and videos for you! Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Meet & greet welcome. I look forward to meeting you and your furry beloved! Jessica My schedule is flexible as I work remotely from home. I am especially flexible for out of home care before 2:30 pm :) as I have young kids who are in school. Pets are welcome to roam the house, and every walk I offer will be a minimum of 20 mins, on average 30 min unless otherwise specified. We have a large backyard that is unfenced.

About: Hello! I am an animal lover through and through. I’ve always had dogs growing up, and while in university my roommates always had pets including dogs, cats, and birds! I do not currently have a pet myself, so I am excited to spend time with yours! I have experience with dogs of all sizes, including puppies, as well as cats. I have also looked after very senior pets, as well as dogs with disabilities such as blindness. I’m a very active person who enjoys long walks, as well as jogging; I would love to bring your dog along for a run! While I love all pets, I have a soft spot for large dogs, especially cuddly ones! I’m currently saving up for graduate school this fall so any opportunities I can get I will take! I currently work full time, finishing around 2:30 pm so plenty of time for afternoon walks! I have full weekend availability as well for when you’re away. I would love to hear from you everything your dog loves in order to make them feel right at home! Their favourite toy, snacks, activities, I always want to make sure they’re happy and engaged.

I have also been relied upon for pet-sitting and dog-walking for a number of families for many years. Feeding, playing, exercising, cleaning, caring for all pets' needs. I am returning to my full time teaching job in September, which fills my days from 8 to 4, but I am fully available for overnight pet and house-sitting, as well as fully available on weekends! I ensure my own pets are comfortable and well cared for. When I stay in others' homes, I follow pets' routines and meet their needs.
“Melissa is friendly and reliable! She has been Barkley’s sitter since he arrived at 8 weeks. She comes twice a day right now, which is a huge help on long workdays! Thank You Melissa”
About: As a lifelong animal lover, I’ve spent the past 10 years caring for my own mini dachshund, Tony, and helping family and friends with their pets. From walks and playtime to feeding and companionship, I genuinely enjoy making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Every pet in my care is treated like family. 🐾 Pet care fits easily into my daily routine especially since I am off from university for the summer and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to dedicate lots of time to walks, feeding, playtime, and giving pets the attention they need. I enjoy spending time with animals and am available throughout the week to provide reliable, loving care. I care for every pet with the same love, trust, and attention that I give my own. Safety and reliability are my top priorities, whether I’m caring for a pet in my home or in a client’s home. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and I have a senior mini dachshund who is very lazy and spends most of his time lounging. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions, while providing plenty of supervision, affection, and updates to owners.
“Came last minute to help us out and did an amazing job. Cannot recommend enough for drop-in visits. There was a ton of rain and we had a minor leak, Izabella went above and beyond and cleaned it up and let me know immediately. We so appreciated her help.”

I highly recommend this dog walker. They are extremely efficient, trustworthy, and genuinely caring with every dog they look after. It's clear they have a real love for animals and always go the extra mile to ensure dogs are safe, happy, and well cared for. I have complete confidence leaving my dog in their care and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate dog walker.

John was absolutely phenomenal as a dog sitter! From the moment we connected, he was communicative, professional, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. He took the time to understand Leo’s routine, preferences, and quirks, which gave me immediate peace of mind. He made consistent visits and put in extra effort to make sure Leo felt comfortable, cared for, and never lonely. Throughout the stay, John provided regular updates, including photos and messages, which really reassured me that Leo was in great hands. When I returned, Leo was relaxed, healthy, and clearly had formed a strong bond with him. It was obvious that John truly cares and treats the dogs he watches like his own. I would highly recommend John to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring dog sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with him again!

Melissa was a great cat sitting for our 13 year kitty "Luna". Her communication was prompt and consistent during booking and our time away. Her reports on each visit were detailed and showed how patient she was being despite having having a stressed cat that required daily medication and creative bribery :) Highly recommend.

Esther is a lovely and patient person. Her personality, makes the relationship between her and the pet very trustworthy from the beginning. From the first day, Esther sent me photos and videos with Cooper, where I could appreciate that he was having fun with her. Esther is a responsible person and arrived on- time to all visits. Thank you Esther to take care of my Cooper very well. Definitely, I will call you next time.

Amy did a great job of caring for our two young dogs for the first time this past weekend and we look forward to having her back! With the scorching heat, it was not possible for her to take them for their planned long walk, but she found fun and interesting things to do with them in the shade and inside to make up for it. Her notes back to us on the visit were detailed and we could tell by the pictures that the dogs were happy and enjoying her time with them. Thank you, Amy!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 2,543 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Guelph. About 86% of Guelph sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Guelph stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guelph choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
