“Taylor came by for another walk with Hershey and he was so well taken care of ! We had a very well exercised dog on our hands for the rest of the day and he just loves her - tries to bring her all of his toys to convince her to stay once they’re back.”

“Kristen is an amazing dog sitter. From the first she walked our two male dogs, she demonstrated not only professionalism but love with the GSD and Jack Russel. They are both strong and energetic dogs but she handles them with grace. From the moment they met Kristen, both dogs took a liking to her. She has been very reliable and available to help us out when we needed her on short notice. I cannot recommend her highly enough, she delivers 5 star service every single time and the dogs are always happy to see her and popped out after she walks or babysit them. Thank you Kristen”

“Shelley is great! Quick responses and always updates me with how the walks went as well as a cute picture of my baby while I’m away at work. Great with my dog whom is very protective of her home.”

“Izabella is a fantastic pet sitter. My pets were well taken care of and I was able to be away from home enjoying myself without a worry of how the pets were. I definitely recommend Rover and Izabella and will be booking her again when I go away.”

“Alexis helped us out with last minute dog walking, and she was great! She was a wonderful communicator, and we loved seeing pics of Frida and hearing about their time together.”

About: I have years of experience with animal care, having pet-sat for many families and pet owners over the last 10 years, as well as in more established settings such as vet clinics and animal rescues. I also grew up and have lived alongside animals for most of my life. I have experience with animals ranging from house pets (cats, dogs, rabbits, etc.) to farm animals (pigs, donkeys, sheep, etc.) and am confident in my ability to care for and love your companions. I grew up with rescue animals and understand they can sometimes have their quirks and need a little extra patience. The animals in my family have included seniors, a diabetic cat, and rescues who were very fearful and took time to feel safe. I’m comfortable caring for animals who may be anxious, reactive, or not easily handled, and I always prioritize making them feel safe and loved. Some of my specific skills and experiences include: - Experience with grooming and nail trimming for house pets (and often asked by owners to help with this for their own animals) - Caring for injured animals or those with special needs (with guidance from owners or vets) - Experience administering basic medications, including pills, injections, and oral syringes - Comfortable following detailed care instructions and medication schedules - Experience working at wildlife and animal sanctuaries - Volunteer experience at a veterinary clinic - Confident and calm when handling animals - Strong understanding of animal body language and behaviour The rates on my profile are just suggestions. I don't often have a set rate as I prefer to find something that works for both of us, so please still reach out and we can chat about it! I work numerous casual jobs and so I have a very flexible schedule which I can work around and adjust based on my pet-sitting schedule. I believe I offer a very safe and comforting environment for the pets I sit, whether at their home or mine. I've been told I give off a very caring energy that makes people and animals feel safe and like they con trust me. As an anxious person myself, I really care about your pet feeling safe, comfy, and at ease.

“Jessica is the best! Very accommodating and patient with our little Maltese-Pomeranian. She was able to help us out within 1 days notice and Theo just loves her (and we do too)!! Would and have recommended her to all my friends who have dogs and might need assistance!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats. I’ve been around them my whole life and want to dedicate my future to helping animals as well. I have a few years of dog sitting experience in high school for families and friends. Currently unemployed so all my free time can be dedicated to taking care of your animals! Daily walks are a must and might as well have some dogs coming along! I follow instructions to the letter, I take precautions in new environments as well. All for the safety and comfort of your pets and myself.
About: I’ve always had a strong connection with dogs and a genuine love for caring for them. I’m comfortable with a range of temperaments and energy levels, from playful and energetic to calm and reserved. I pay close attention to behaviour, routines, and cues, making sure each dog feels safe, understood, and well cared for. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I approach every dog with patience, responsibility, and care. Your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness are always my priority. I work part-time with very flexible hours, which allows me to easily incorporate pet care into my daily and weekly routine. I have plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and extended visits, and I’m able to adapt my schedule to meet each pet’s specific needs. Whether it’s maintaining a consistent routine, accommodating last-minute requests, or spending extra time with your pet, I’m able to prioritize their care and ensure they receive reliable, attentive support. Safety and trust are always my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s home. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs so I can provide consistent, reliable care. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely, maintaining feeding schedules, walk routines, and any house rules to ensure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I’m very attentive to behaviour and surroundings, making sure pets are safe at all times, whether that means secure leashing on walks, monitoring interactions, or keeping a calm and clean environment. I also provide regular updates so owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away. My goal is to create a stress-free, trustworthy experience where pets feel cared for and owners feel reassured.
“Stefan takes great care of Junie on her walks. She has now memorized the schedule, and on the days Stefan is coming, she gets excited before the doorbell rings. I can see how much he loves dogs, and the connection he is building with Junie.”

About: I have had experience taking care of dogs for the last 15 years. My best friends had four legs and I saw them well into their senior years. I have adopted my own Rio and he has filled my heart with so much love. Animals really are angels 💕 I work remotely at my own pace so I have time throughout the day to enjoy the beautiful nature and what better way than to have some great company join too! In my clients home I respect the home I am in and only keep to the places that I need to be. I always leave the home clean and tidy. I give your pets the space they need in order to get comfortable with me. After all it is their home and I’m the guest.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Guelph
Cat was a great match for our boys! She was reliable, responsible and trustworthy. She took all my input and did an awesome job. She wore them out and provided updates. I recommend Cat as a reliable dog walker and will definitely reach out to her in future when a need arises.

Reliable, kind, and caring, I felt at ease knowing our family member (dog) was in such good hands. Our boy has a lot of personality and big emotions, and Lisa was patient and attentive to his needs. We’re grateful for the care she gave him and would happily recommend her! We loved the photos she sent on each walk/vist.

Kirsten was truly wonderful with our boy - gentle, patient, and kind. You can tell that she really loves animals! Kirsten walked our dog during a difficult period of our lives after I unexpectedly had a stroke. Her walks were the highlight of our dog’s week, and I felt so comforted knowing that our boy was happy while I recovered ☺️

Rachel is so friendly, she did a call with me before meeting Koa to make sure we both felt comfortable, once Koa went on her walk with Rachel I could see that she was treating Koa like her own dog, that’s huge for me and huge for Koa to feel safe. Will definitely book with Rachel again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guelph choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
