Information Linda M. would like to know about your pet

I'm accustomed to handling large breeds and single-minded dogs who want attention. I will provide a questionnaire so I can fully understand your dog and their specific requirements -- whether senior dogs with special diets, medication or dogs who are shy or reactive around others. We all want a snuggle bug, but sometimes dogs are more complex. Let's make sure you and your precious dog(s) are comfortable with me and I with them.

A typical day

Keeping your dog(s) active and occupied is my first priority as well as giving them downtime to settle and sleep. Tug toys (supervised), fetch in the backyard, treat balls or stuffed Kongs, and a wading pool (on hot summer days) are some examples of the activities we might engage in. There are parks and school grounds close by and lots of familiar loops and trails (short drive) for walkies. No off-leash parks unless this is a normal part of your dog(s) activity.

Secure & Snuggly Stays

Pet care experience

I've raised or cared for a variety of breeds for over 25+ years, from puppies to rescues to elderly dogs. Husky-X, Malamutes, Hound-X, American Eskimo and Cairn Terrier-X's have been the core breeds I've handled. I don't currently have a pet living with me, but I love the company of all sorts of scruffy and snuggly fur-friends. I'm an active person (distance runner) and am accustomed to keeping busy bodies and minds occupied. I went through all 4 Levels of training with my female Alaskan Malamute with McCann's Dog Training. While my Mal has since passed, the training gave me a good grounding in guiding and understanding dog behaviours. I'm not afraid of shedding, slobber or reactivity. Please no flexi leashes for your dog's safety and mine. My clients get homemade cookies (if their diet allows) and are welcome on the furniture or on my bed. You set the rules about diet, exercise and any other boundaries.

Linda was great with my two dogs. She provided lots of pictures and updates throughout her stay. We already have her booked for her next stay and would recommend her to our friends.

Third time's the charm! This was Linda's third visit with our rescue Jasper. Linda's patience and diligence in building trust has paid off with cuddles and ear scratches. We appreciate Linda's proactive communication and commitment to providing excellent care while establishing a relationship with our shy and particular girl. Linda continues to be very accommodating with schedule adjustments and keeps the house very tidy. We'll be booking with her again soon!

We had such a wonderful dog boarding experience with Linda. From the beginning, she was prompt with her communication and made our anxious rescue dog feel right at home. We couldn’t have better things to say about Linda and we will definitely have our dog stay with her again. Thank you for everything Linda!

This was Linda's second housesitting stay with our dog, Jasper. Jasper is a rescue and won't allow new people to touch her, which makes dogsitting a lot less fun! Linda has been very patient and committed to building Jasper's trust over time. As always, Linda was very proactive and professional with communication. We love the photos she sends to keep us updated during her stay and greatly appreciate her flexibility with our uncertain schedule on this particular visit. Thank you!
