“Bradley has been such incredible help for walking and caring for our dog. She can be an anxious and « too » excited girl but they made a great connection and within a week they developed full trust. You can tell that Brad really loves and cares for dogs and I would wholeheartedly recommend him.”

“I’ve used Nick multiple times for walking my two dogs and he has been fantastic. Always very communicative, flexible with scheduling, and takes great care of them. He’s been cautious of the extreme heat and brings his own water dish along for the dogs to help keep them cool. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! Your pet will love him!”

“Thea has been walking frank for a week or so and he is always the most excited to see her ! I appreciate her coming in the back door to pick him up while I’m on zoom calls and has always been prompt, responsive and takes photos of their time together. Frank looks forward to their reoccurring walks ! Would definitely recommend Thea.”

About: I have had dogs annd cats all my life and have been a dog walker, groomer and pet sitter. I have babysat my neighbour's cat for weeks on end, staying in the house a few nights to keep the kitty company. I also have a hedgehog so I have experience with small animals as well. I ride horses and have experience with all sizes of dogs. I pride myself on being knowledgeable in dog behaviour and how to read them and their subtle cues. As you can see I am an avid animal lover and will do everything I can to make your fur baby happy and healthy. Feel free to contact me for any and all of your needs. Looking forward to hearing from you! I work from home and make my own schedule so I am very flexible and can usually make most appointments work. I don’t often leave for the weekend. With love and affection! I have experience with crate training, importance of having a routine, tether training, rest time, play time, enrichment time, and anything your baby needs!
“Dylan is the absolute best. He is so flexible if I need a last minute booking in tip of my regular schedule. He always ensures my pup is a happy girl and sends the cutest pictures. He's more than happy to work around scheduling, book something last minute, and add an extra day into the week as needed. If you and your pet need a very available dog walker, he is your guy. He has a busy schedule with other pets but always makes it work.”

“Dennis is great! Really accommodating when I need to book him as a last minute request, and even pulls through when I forget to leave the dogs leash and supplies out for him! Highly recommend”

About: I’ve taken care of animals, included long term overnight stay since my teenage years. I’m an animal lover through in through, pets are the best I have a flexible remote job, and therefore I am available any time of day with sufficient notice for walks or pop ins, day and night. Having cats of my own, my house is already pet friendly. I have nearby dog parks and I am willing to go on long walks to keep your pet happy.
“Angelica is awesome. She is punctual, patient and caring. My dog takes a long time to warm up to people and Angelica has been very flexible and accommodating. She also has a gentle and calm demeanor which is helping him feel comfortable. I really appreciate you Angelica!”

About: I grew up with dogs of all sizes, from Chihuahuas to Golden Retrievers. Years of living with more sensitive family dogs taught me to read body language closely, and I bring that same attentiveness to every walk and play session. I'll always work to earn your pet's trust and make sure they feel safe and comfortable in my care! I work from home with flexible hours, and pet care fits naturally into my day alongside my own cat. I'm used to building routines around a pet's needs, so incorporating yours is a straightforward task. Cats boarding in my home get their own dedicated space until they're ready to explore and meet Nuri (my cat) on their own terms. Dogs have the run of the place, with regular outdoor potty breaks throughout the day. All pets are welcome on the bed/any furniture. During drop-in visits, I'm happy to give them my full, undivided attention for the entire visit (if they want it, that is).
About: I’ve been obsessed with dogs for my entire life. Most of my experience comes from raising my two dogs I had growing up. One of whom lived to be 16 with many health issues - including administering medication, carrying him due to limited mobility, and supporting him during seizures. I’ve worked as a dog sitter, boarding dogs in my home (to both friends and strangers), as well as doing regular check ins for acquaintances pets while they were away. This always includes a walk or two, feeding and watering, lots of cuddles and affection, whatever grooming may be required. I am currently a Masters of Science in Education student, hoping to become an Elementary teacher. I’m looking for some opportunities to care for some pets while I finish my studies. My program is completely remote, which allows me to be at home with your pet for the whole day. I go for regular walks and rarely go away on weekends. I live in a residential neighbourhood with a fenced in yard. I love to spend time outside and walk to Gage park or down by the waterfront. I have two cats who are about 9 years old, and are quite used to dogs being around. They prefer to mind their own business and don’t interact much with dogs in the house.

“Sandy is the best walker we’ve ever had!! She’s so good with our high energy, crazy golden boy and I know he loves her too. Sandy has been easy to trust since the start and has always been super responsive. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Brittany is fantastic! My dog Rigatoni loved going for walks with her. She was very good about messaging and gave lots of cute updates. Would 100% book her again and recommend her!”

About: I've had the opportunity to care for several dogs over the years, and have enjoyed welcoming friends' pets into my home. Since the passing of my own dog, I have started pet-sitting casually for friends, and am now seeking to widen my client base. I am conscientious and seek to get to know each dog's unique personality and needs. I'm currently available all day to care for your pet. I have flexible pickup and drop-off hours. I can provide multiple walks per day and frequent bathroom breaks. I have a fully fenced backyard, and live in a bright, open house with plenty of space for play and rest. Note that I live on the second level of a house with stairs only access - dogs must be able to do the stairs to come in and out!
“Cat is so great with Dolly! Dolly was very nervous the first couple of times Cat came to walk her but Cat was so kind and consistent that now Dolly is happy to go with her. We are so grateful for Cat's persistent and warmth with Dolly!!”

“Stephanie is simply the best! She’s on time, engaged with Roy and communicates everything well so I know how my pooch is doing! I’m so grateful for everything she does - thank you, Stephanie!”

“Polly has been a life saver for us! She's been so helpful when our schedules don't allow us the flexibility to be home with our puppy Darla. Whether it's taking her for walks, or doggy day care to hang out with her wonderful doggo Chester, Polly has been all we could ask for. 100% recommend!”

I'm so grateful Nick was available to walk my dog Joey. Not only is he reliable, professional, and communicative but sends the sweetest updates and photos from their walks, and Joey gets so excited to see Nick. He's been flexible with schedule changes and notes if anything is off with Joey, going the extra mile because he cares! Thanks Nick.

Cameron was our first experience with a dog walker and I must say he set the bar high. He was quick to respond and very communicative. As he was a new person to our dog she was hesitant at first but took to walking with him very quickly. He was kind and enthusiastic with Bucky and made her feel right at home. We will definitely be using him again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hamilton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
