“We unexpectedly had to add a full-of-energy puppy to Jeff's visit with Toby. Absolutely no issues, Jeff was aware of Toby's need for his own space and handled both dogs without a worry while out for the evening. Thanks again, Jeff!”

About: I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. In a client’s home, I always aim to keep pets on their normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality — whether they’re energetic and playful or more relaxed and need a calm approach. During visits, I make sure pets get not just the essentials, but also attention, enrichment, and companionship. I’m attentive to their behaviour and will flag anything unusual right away. I also treat every home with the utmost respect — keeping things clean, secure, and exactly as I found them. Communication is very important to me, so I always provide updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away. When it comes to dog walking, I prioritize safe, engaging, and structured walks based on each dog’s energy level and needs. Whether it’s a relaxed neighbourhood walk or a more active outing, I make sure dogs get the right balance of exercise and stimulation. I’m attentive on walks, always keeping dogs secure and aware of their surroundings, and I adjust pace and duration to keep them comfortable and happy. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’ve structured my schedule to make sure I can provide consistent, reliable care throughout the week, especially within Burlington and Oakville. I work a hybrid schedule Monday to Friday (9–5), which allows me flexibility for morning, midday, and evening visits depending on the day. On my work-from-home days, I have more availability for check-ins and walks, and I’m able to give pets extra attention and time throughout the day. On weekends, I’m fully flexible and can provide extended care, longer walks, and additional visits. I prioritize keeping pets on their usual routine and always plan my schedule to ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and consistency they need. “Christie was incredible. She was super attentive and wonderful to our fat wild and furry cat. She was patient and gave tons of love. She spent days at the house, nights at the house and was just overall wonderful to our little queen. We would recommend her for any of your furry, wonderful four legged childs.”

“Aaron & hannah were great. They sent messages daily with pictures, videos and updates and we had no issues or concerns. Very happy with their service and will definetly be using them again going forward.”

His skills with dogs and lovable personality made our pup fall in love with him and allowed us to enjoy our vacation without worry. We HIGHLY recommend Mark for any of your pet needs. We also made a friend in the process! ***** 5stars!”

About: I’ve spent lots of time with all kinds of pets, from playful puppies to older pets who need extra care. I’m really patient and make sure every pet feels safe and loved while I’m looking after them. I have plenty of available time to watch your pets since I don’t have a job right now. I’ll be starting my summer job soon, and I’ll update my availability once that changes! I make sure pets are safe and comfortable by getting rid of anything that could be dangerous and keeping the place clean. I will also make sure to follow the owner’s instructions and keep an eye on the pets to make sure they’re happy and relaxed. I also like to keep the owner updated so they know that their pet is in good hands.
About: I have had my dog for 10 years now, and I absolutely adore taking her on walks and going on adventures together. I was her main trainer in the family, even though I was merely 14 at first! I am 24 now and my love of dogs has only grown. My family and friends often have me dog-sit for them, because I truly enjoy any time spent with our furry friends, and because I believe it is incredibly important to have someone savvy take care of your dogs! I always am researching and learning more about dogs to make sure that I am giving my girl the absolute best. I have helped train puppies, taken care of seniors, and have cared for reactive dogs. I would love to help take care of your furry family members and give them all the pets they want! I am currently in a college program that is primarily asynchronous, and therefore, my schedule is pretty open! With proper notice, I can be available on any day of the week. I am more than willing to follow whatever routine you already have set for your dog, and I am happy to reinforce any training methods you are working on! I do not mind if there are special requirements, as your dog's safety and comfort is the most important thing.
“Linda arrived when we agreed and took great care of our pup. She provided real time updates and even shared photos. She left our home clean and followed all care instructions. I would definitely hire her again!”

About: I’ve been a dog lover my whole life and get excited whenever I get the chance to spend time with one. I’ve helped care for my parents’, grandparents’, and sister’s dogs and love everything from walks and playtime to just relaxing and keeping them company. I know how important pets are to their families, and I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. ❤️ Pet care fits well into my schedule. I work as a figure skating coach for a few hours in the evenings, which leaves me available during the day and on weekends for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pet. I am organized, reliable, and will always make sure your pet gets the care and attention they need. I know pets are family, so I take caring for them seriously. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether they want to play, go for a walk, or just have someone keep them company, I’m happy to give them the attention they need. I live in an apartment with access to safe walking areas and a nearby park, making it easy to give dogs plenty of exercise, fresh air, and attention. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities and I will always follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, and routines. I’ll always follow your instructions and keep you updated so you can have peace of mind.

About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and have lots of personal experience with them! I grew up with my own dog, so looking after pets has always felt natural to me. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with special needs (ex. providing medication) both in their own homes and in mine, and I make sure to follow their routines closely. I’m very active and love keeping dogs moving with walks, playtime, and lots of attention. For the past two years, I’ve also volunteered at the Burlington Humane Society, working with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Making time for pets is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize, not something I have to squeeze in. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, and check-ins so pets get consistent care and attention. I’m active throughout the day, which makes it easy to include walks and exercise for dogs, and I’m flexible enough to adjust routines based on each pet’s needs—whether that’s extra activity, quiet time, or special care. I care for pets by following their usual routines as closely as possible, whether they’re in my home or their own. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, get plenty of fresh water, exercise, playtime, and attention, and feel safe and comfortable at all times. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow any specific instructions they provide. In my own home, I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where pets can relax, play, and feel at ease. I always keep owners updated with lots of photos so they feel confident their pet is well cared for.

About: I am a caring and compassionate animal lover and have over 10 years of animal care taking under my belt. I have always been my family and friends go to person for a caretaker, dog walker, dog/cat sitter, feeder and or just going to give their fur babies some loving while they are away. I recently completed my Veterinary Assistant course where I can further go into a field that I truly love which is working with animals that give me so much joy. I believe that every animal should be loved and cared for and be treated as their own individual. I am currently just out of my first year of college and off for the summer and extremely excited to have so much time on my hands to play and take care of your adorable pups. For the most part I am pretty flexible with my timings and will work to the best of my abilities to fit your needs. I have one very friendly pup and am very involved with her life I feed her make sure she has adequate water at all times, trained her as a puppy, administer medications as needed at the appropriate timings, walking is frequent, play time is a must with me and light brushing to keep my pup well maintained. Overall the well being of mine and your pets are my top priority and I strive to make each interaction a positive one.
“Andrew was fantastic with Finn- it was easy to see how comfortable Finn was with him while we were away. Gave us great peace of mind to be able to be away and know Finn was so well cared for 🙂”

About: Hello! My name is Meredith and am a proud dog Mom to 3 pups and we’re happy to open our home to your furry family members. In addition to my own three pups (a pug puppy, a rescued senior pug and our silly 8-year old chocolate lab), I’m always the first for friends and family to reach out to when they need pet-sitting, whether for a weekend or longer. In addition to regular walks, the doggos have a large, fenced-in yard to frolic in. Your beloved pet will have many comfy dog beds to choose from when they want to just relax, not to mention plenty of toys when they want to play. I have the ability to work mostly from home, so your pet will always have my full attention while they’re visiting. I have the flexibility to cater to your pet’s needs and happy to accommodate their personalized schedule. I have a fully-fenced yard for your pet to play in with my very friendly and submissive pups. I also live on a quiet street, so walks are calm and safe, without the fear of busy traffic. I’m fully mobile, so should an emergency arise, or you need help with transportation, I have full access to a vehicle at all times. I’m also comfortable with giving medication to your pets as needed. I also live close to the lake, so a walk along the shoreline is always a fun experience.
“Caroline was so great with my pets! She was so attentive and kept me updated all the time. Our pets were so happy and well cared for. I will definitely have Caroline sit for me again, she is lovely!!”

About: I've had dogs since I can recall. We had an old man past almost a year ago roughly living until 17.5 years old. Stubborn but loving dog! Got a beagle within last few years of our old dog's life. I don't live at home with the beagle anymore, just my cats but I still love dogs as well! I have experience providing meds via a syringe. Not really pills for dogs. Also putting on a diaper and getting up through the night, removing diaper, putting back on. Getting up a few times a night for puppies. With their small bladders. If you worry about noise complaints by playing in the backyard, I can walk them a couple times in a day if needed. I'll love them like my own! And take lots of photos :D I do work a 9-5:30pm job (Monday to Friday). I would still be able to feed/let out or by leash to let them do their business. After work feed/another bathroom break/walk/a bit of play and some cuddles ofcourse! If they require a bathroom break between a work day. I can let them out during my lunch. I can't do boarding but I can do overnight stays/drop ins. I usually prefer to have the owner write a list of instructions for how much food to be given/times if they extra meals, a supplements needed or medication. I always use alarms for medication so I don't forget to. And for any additional information thats good to know or where things are located. I may still ask the owner where things are if I can't find an item. I make sure items are not in reach or access to anything their not supposed to have. I won't leave your place in a mess, I can vaccum if needed before returning. I love being around pets and wish to provide them care/love while you are away. Care for them and hopefully can sleep with them. Unless they don't want to. I hope you can give me the opportunity to care for your furry children!

Sanchita was a great dog sitter for our 2 year old golden retriever! Communication with her was very easy and she stayed in touch with us throughout our time away. Our pup ended up having an upset stomach over the weekend, so Sanchita went above and beyond at taking her out throughout the hours of the night and early morning. We appreciated everything she did and would recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter!

Emily is amazing! She is super friendly with a lovely, sparkling personality. She has experience with older cats. My cat, Dipsy, is 16 and Emily took great care in following my care instructions. She stayed the whole week in our home, caring for Dipsy when we went on vacation. Dipsy warmed up quickly to Emily. He can be a picky eater, but he ate happily under Emily's gentle care.

Dijla and Shane did such a wonderful job looking after our cat, Maui while we were away! Can't thank them enough for everything. Our cat has separation anxiety and they made her feel comfortable and happy given how often she'd hangout and sit with them in the living room. We definitely appreciated and loved all the photos and updates they sent over every day which put us at ease knowing she was in good hands :) They even watered our garden which we were super grateful for. We would highly recommend them, and would 100% have them take care of Maui again in the future. Thank you guys for everything! And I'm sure Maui will miss having you two around!

Mason was a wonderful sitter! He was very communicative and flexible to our needs and those of our cat. He went above and beyond to provide updates on how Rodman was doing along with photos and anecdotes. Mason is a trustworthy sitter and was responsible with all of the tasks including litter box cleaning. I knew our cat was in good hands after a meet-and-greet and I believe our cat really enjoyed Mason's company as an animal lover. Highly recommend Mason!

Emily was a wonderful cat sitter for my elderly cat, Lily. Emily was gracious and communicative, and let me know how Lily was doing and sent several pictures, where I could see Lily was her playful self. It put my mind at ease knowing she was in capable hands. I would have Emily as a cat sitter again, anytime.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Burlington on Rover is $64.38 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 3,200 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burlington. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burlington walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 79% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
