“Christie was incredible. She was super attentive and wonderful to our fat wild and furry cat. She was patient and gave tons of love. She spent days at the house, nights at the house and was just overall wonderful to our little queen. We would recommend her for any of your furry, wonderful four legged childs.”

“Another great week of our Athena with Jeff and Raissa. We returned to happy and healthy dog, house sparkling clean, and flowers for us!!!! Jeff is extremely loving and caring towards dogs. Athena had 24 hours attention from both of them and this constant presence of someone in the house definitely made up for our absence (we highly appreciate it). We have mountains of proof that she was in best hands. He let her abuse him and snuggled in his bed (which she's not allowed to do with us) and we find it so sweet and loving act on Jeff's part. Jeff adjusts to what a dog needs, not the other way around. He understands that the owner's absence is disturbing to a pet and he does all to make up for it. When we returned from vacation, Athena didn't show any signs of distress, moved back into her routine with us smoothly and this is the best testimony that her week was also relaxed.. Thank you Jeff and till the next time.”

“Mark stayed at hour home and watched our Bullmastiff for a few days. He was respectful of our home and took good care of our dog, following all of our instructions and keeping us updated each day. I would be happy to hire him again.”

About: I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. In a client’s home, I always aim to keep pets on their normal schedule, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality — whether they’re energetic and playful or more relaxed and need a calm approach. During visits, I make sure pets get not just the essentials, but also attention, enrichment, and companionship. I’m attentive to their behaviour and will flag anything unusual right away. I also treat every home with the utmost respect — keeping things clean, secure, and exactly as I found them. Communication is very important to me, so I always provide updates and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away. When it comes to dog walking, I prioritize safe, engaging, and structured walks based on each dog’s energy level and needs. Whether it’s a relaxed neighbourhood walk or a more active outing, I make sure dogs get the right balance of exercise and stimulation. I’m attentive on walks, always keeping dogs secure and aware of their surroundings, and I adjust pace and duration to keep them comfortable and happy. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’ve structured my schedule to make sure I can provide consistent, reliable care throughout the week, especially within Burlington and Oakville. I work a hybrid schedule Monday to Friday (9–5), which allows me flexibility for morning, midday, and evening visits depending on the day. On my work-from-home days, I have more availability for check-ins and walks, and I’m able to give pets extra attention and time throughout the day. On weekends, I’m fully flexible and can provide extended care, longer walks, and additional visits. I prioritize keeping pets on their usual routine and always plan my schedule to ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and consistency they need. About: I’ve spent lots of time with all kinds of pets, from playful puppies to older pets who need extra care. I’m really patient and make sure every pet feels safe and loved while I’m looking after them. I have plenty of available time to watch your pets since I don’t have a job right now. I’ll be starting my summer job soon, and I’ll update my availability once that changes! I make sure pets are safe and comfortable by getting rid of anything that could be dangerous and keeping the place clean. I will also make sure to follow the owner’s instructions and keep an eye on the pets to make sure they’re happy and relaxed. I also like to keep the owner updated so they know that their pet is in good hands.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs throughout my entire university journey, three years of walks, cuddles, and drop-ins for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and energy levels. From bouncy puppies still learning the ropes to gentle seniors who need a little extra patience, I’ve handled it all. I’m also a cat owner myself, so animals truly are a part of my everyday life. Whether your pup is a high-energy large breed or a small dog who just wants company, they’ll be in fun, caring hands with me. As a university student, my days are flexible and I structure my time around the dogs I care for. I’m available for walks and drop-ins throughout the week, and I’m always reachable and responsive when pet parents need updates or last-minute bookings. Since I come to your home, your dog gets to stay in their own familiar environment — no stress, no adjustment period. I treat every client’s home with full respect, follow any house rules or routines you have in place, and always ensure doors, gates, and leashes are secure before anything else. You’ll get updates and photos throughout so you always know your pup is safe and happy.
About: I've had dogs since I can recall. We had an old man past almost a year ago roughly living until 17.5 years old. Stubborn but loving dog! Got a beagle within last few years of our old dog's life. I don't live at home with the beagle anymore, just my cats but I still love dogs as well! I have experience providing meds via a syringe. Not really pills for dogs/cats. Also putting on a diaper and getting up through the night, removing diaper, putting back on. Getting up a few times a night for puppies. With their small bladders. If you worry about noise complaints by playing in the backyard, I can walk them a couple times in a day if needed. I'll love them like my own! And take lots of photos :D I do work a 9-5:30pm job (Monday to Friday). I would still be able to feed/let out or by leash to let them do their business in the morning. When getting up to feed and before leaving for work. After work feed/another bathroom break/walk/a bit of play and some cuddles ofcourse! I can't do boarding but I can do overnight stays/drop ins. I usually prefer to have the owner write a list of instructions for how much food to be given/times if they extra meals, a supplements needed or medication. I always use alarms for medication so I don't forget to. And for any additional information thats good to know or where things are located. I may still ask the owner where things are if I can't find an item. I make sure items are not in reach or access to anything their not supposed to have. I won't leave your place in a mess, I can vaccum if needed before returning. I love being around pets and wish to provide them care/love while you are away. Care for them and hopefully can sleep with them. Unless they don't want to. I hope you can give me the opportunity to care for your furry children!
“Linda arrived when we agreed and took great care of our pup. She provided real time updates and even shared photos. She left our home clean and followed all care instructions. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Anne did a fabulous job looking after Ollie. I arrived home after 7 days away to a happy and well cared for dog. My house was left by Anne in the same condition I left it for her. She kept me informed every day, of Ollie’s activities and sent me pictures of him so I could see for myself how he was. I would have Anne back when I travel again and would have no hesitation in recommending her.”

I know how important pets are to their families, and I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. ❤️ Pet care fits well into my schedule. I work as a figure skating coach for a few hours in the evenings, which leaves me available during the day and on weekends for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pet. I am organized, reliable, and will always make sure your pet gets the care and attention they need. I know pets are family, so I take caring for them seriously. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll always follow your instructions and keep you updated so you can have peace of mind.
About: I stand out by being attentive, reliable, and tailoring care to each pets needs. I have experience with both energetic puppies and kitties (basic training, routines, and socialization) and senior pets (gentle handling, medication reminders, and slower-paced care). I keep owners updated with regular messages and make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well-loved. Pet care is at the core of my daily routine. I prioritize structured feeding times, exercise, and play sessions, ensuring pets receive consistent care and attention throughout the day. In my client's home, I provide personalized care tailored to their pet's needs. This includes feeding according to their schedule, administering medications if needed, engaging in playtime, and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment. In my own home, I extend the same level of care, ensuring pets feel welcomed and loved while maintaining their routines as closely as possible.
About: I have had my dog for 10 years now, and I absolutely adore taking her on walks and going on adventures together. I was her main trainer in the family, even though I was merely 14 at first! I am 24 now and my love of dogs has only grown. My family and friends often have me dog-sit for them, because I truly enjoy any time spent with our furry friends, and because I believe it is incredibly important to have someone savvy take care of your dogs! I always am researching and learning more about dogs to make sure that I am giving my girl the absolute best. I have helped train puppies, taken care of seniors, and have cared for reactive dogs. I would love to help take care of your furry family members and give them all the pets they want! I am currently in a college program that is primarily asynchronous, and therefore, my schedule is pretty open! With proper notice, I can be available on any day of the week. I am more than willing to follow whatever routine you already have set for your dog, and I am happy to reinforce any training methods you are working on! I do not mind if there are special requirements, as your dog's safety and comfort is the most important thing.
“Yanqi was amazing with Crusoe. Not once did I need to check in for photos or updates as these were sent regularly throughout the day. We returned home to a totally relaxed and chilled out pup who clearly had a great time with his pet sitter. Our place was clean and tidy and most importantly, our precious boy was well loved and cared for. Will definitely be booking Yanqi in the future as the peace of mind we had allowed us to enjoy a family break together.”

I have always been my family and friends go to person for a caretaker, dog walker, dog/cat sitter, feeder and or just going to give their fur babies some loving while they are away. I recently completed my Veterinary Assistant course where I can further go into a field that I truly love which is working with animals that give me so much joy. I believe that every animal should be loved and cared for and be treated as their own individual. I am currently just out of my first year of college and off for the summer and extremely excited to have so much time on my hands to play and take care of your adorable pups. For the most part I am pretty flexible with my timings and will work to the best of my abilities to fit your needs. I have one very friendly pup and am very involved with her life I feed her make sure she has adequate water at all times, trained her as a puppy, administer medications as needed at the appropriate timings, walking is frequent, play time is a must with me and light brushing to keep my pup well maintained. Overall the well being of mine and your pets are my top priority and I strive to make each interaction a positive one.
About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and have lots of personal experience with them! I grew up with my own dog, so looking after pets has always felt natural to me. I’m comfortable caring for dogs with special needs (ex. providing medication) both in their own homes and in mine, and I make sure to follow their routines closely. I’m very active and love keeping dogs moving with walks, playtime, and lots of attention. For the past two years, I’ve also volunteered at the Burlington Humane Society, working with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Making time for pets is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize, not something I have to squeeze in. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, and check-ins so pets get consistent care and attention. I’m active throughout the day, which makes it easy to include walks and exercise for dogs, and I’m flexible enough to adjust routines based on each pet’s needs—whether that’s extra activity, quiet time, or special care. I care for pets by following their usual routines as closely as possible, whether they’re in my home or their own. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, get plenty of fresh water, exercise, playtime, and attention, and feel safe and comfortable at all times. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow any specific instructions they provide. In my own home, I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where pets can relax, play, and feel at ease. I always keep owners updated with lots of photos so they feel confident their pet is well cared for.

“We needed care for our two dogs while we were getting married, and after thoroughly researching available house and dog sitters, I knew Lorin was the right choice. Her glowing reviews initially caught my attention, but meeting her in person truly put me at ease. Lorin's thorough preparation for the 3+ day stay, coupled with her warm demeanor, reassured us that our dogs were in great hands. Throughout her stay, she sent us daily updates and photos, sharing details that kept us completely at ease. Thanks to Lorin, we were able to fully enjoy our wedding rehearsal, dinner, wedding day, and reception without a single worry about our pups. Her exceptional care and professionalism mean we’ll likely plan our future vacations around her availability. I can't recommend her highly enough!”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for pets has always been something I genuinely enjoy, whether it's going for long walks, playing, or simply giving them the attention and affection they deserve. Family and friends have trusted me to care for their dogs and cats while they're away because they know I'm dependable, responsible, and compassionate. I'm currently studying Zoology, where I'm learning about a wide variety of animals and their behaviour, health, and welfare. My passion for animals is what inspired me to pursue this field, and I can't wait to spend my career caring for them. I understand that every pet has their own unique personality and routine, and I always strive to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I treat every pet as if they were my own and take pride in providing reliable, attentive care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. My schedule is extremely open and flexible this summer. I’m currently a dancer teacher and in the summer will only be unavailable a few days each month. I’m also captain of my dance team which also only takes up approximately 4 days each month. Therefore i have love of time available to care for your pets :) When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priorities are safety, trust, and creating a calm, comfortable environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely to help them feel secure and reduce stress while their owner is away. I make sure they are always supervised, properly fed, and have fresh water, clean spaces, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I also take care to respect the client’s home, keeping everything tidy and following any specific instructions carefully. My goal is to build trust with both pets and owners by providing reliable, responsible, and compassionate care that feels as familiar and safe as possible for the pet.

Sanchita was a great dog sitter for our 2 year old golden retriever! Communication with her was very easy and she stayed in touch with us throughout our time away. Our pup ended up having an upset stomach over the weekend, so Sanchita went above and beyond at taking her out throughout the hours of the night and early morning. We appreciated everything she did and would recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter!

Emily is amazing! She is super friendly with a lovely, sparkling personality. She has experience with older cats. My cat, Dipsy, is 16 and Emily took great care in following my care instructions. She stayed the whole week in our home, caring for Dipsy when we went on vacation. Dipsy warmed up quickly to Emily. He can be a picky eater, but he ate happily under Emily's gentle care.

Dijla and Shane did such a wonderful job looking after our cat, Maui while we were away! Can't thank them enough for everything. Our cat has separation anxiety and they made her feel comfortable and happy given how often she'd hangout and sit with them in the living room. We definitely appreciated and loved all the photos and updates they sent over every day which put us at ease knowing she was in good hands :) They even watered our garden which we were super grateful for. We would highly recommend them, and would 100% have them take care of Maui again in the future. Thank you guys for everything! And I'm sure Maui will miss having you two around!

FAQs for House Sitting - Burlington
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Burlington on Rover is $64.38 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,205 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burlington. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burlington walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
