“Jeff cared for our precious boy, Jethro, for 12 days. He was extremely prompt with answering messages and he sent us a bunch of pictures of Jethro each day! He took Jethro to the park every day. Jethro was a very happy and healthy dog when we got home! We can't thank him enough for taking such good care of Jethro. It was peace of mind knowing that Jeff was giving Jethro a similar care as we would give. Thank you soo much, Jeff!! And Jethro thanks you too!”

“Danielle was fantastic with Medusa. She took her out everyday, gave her cuddles, played with her and kept us up to date on everything every day we were gone. We will definitely be using her services in the future again!”

About: I've had dogs since I can recall. We had an old man past almost a year ago roughly living until 17.5 years old. Stubborn but loving dog! Got a beagle within last few years of our old dog's life. I don't live at home with the beagle anymore, just my cats but I still love dogs as well! I have experience providing meds via a syringe. Not really pills for dogs/cats. Also putting on a diaper and getting up through the night, removing diaper, putting back on. Getting up a few times a night for puppies. With their small bladders. If you worry about noise complaints by playing in the backyard, I can walk them a couple times in a day if needed. I'll love them like my own! And take lots of photos :D I do work a 9-5:30pm job (Monday to Friday). I would still be able to feed/let out or by leash to let them do their business in the morning. When getting up to feed and before leaving for work. After work feed/another bathroom break/walk/a bit of play and some cuddles ofcourse! (I don't leave my cats alone for overnight stays. My partner takes care of my children when I'm away) I can't do boarding but I can do overnight stays/drop ins. I usually prefer to have the owner write a list of instructions for how much food to be given/times if they extra meals, a supplements needed or medication. I always use alarms for medication so I don't forget to. And for any additional information thats good to know or where things are located. I may still ask the owner where things are if I can't find an item. I make sure items are not in reach or access to anything their not supposed to have. I won't leave your place in a mess, I can vaccum if needed before returning. I love being around pets and wish to provide them care/love while you are away. Care for them and hopefully can sleep with them. Unless they don't want to. I hope you can give me the opportunity to care for your furry children!
“Mark stayed at hour home and watched our Bullmastiff for a few days. He was respectful of our home and took good care of our dog, following all of our instructions and keeping us updated each day. I would be happy to hire him again.”

“Aaron & hannah were great. They sent messages daily with pictures, videos and updates and we had no issues or concerns. Very happy with their service and will definetly be using them again going forward.”

“Yanqi was amazing with Crusoe. Not once did I need to check in for photos or updates as these were sent regularly throughout the day. We returned home to a totally relaxed and chilled out pup who clearly had a great time with his pet sitter. Our place was clean and tidy and most importantly, our precious boy was well loved and cared for. Will definitely be booking Yanqi in the future as the peace of mind we had allowed us to enjoy a family break together.”

“Linda arrived when we agreed and took great care of our pup. She provided real time updates and even shared photos. She left our home clean and followed all care instructions. I would definitely hire her again!”

“"We cannot thank Xenia enough for looking after our puppy, Truffle! Since Truffle is still very young and only partially vaccinated, we were naturally a bit anxious, but Xenia was incredibly caring, cautious, and accommodating of all our specific routine needs. She also did a fantastic job helping with his crate training while we were away, showing real expertise and patience. If you are looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and genuinely loving to care for your pup, we highly recommend Xenia!"”

About: Hey there! I’m an animal lover with hands-on experience in both kennels and wildlife care, and I’m all about giving animals the best care possible. Whether it’s making sure your furry friend feels right at home in a kennel or helping rehabilitate wildlife in their natural habitat, I’ve got it covered. I’m passionate about animal well-being, from keeping them safe and comfortable to ensuring they’re happy and healthy. I’ve got experience working with all kinds of animals, from the playful pups and curious cats at the kennel to the more unique creatures in wildlife care. I know how to handle all kinds of situations, whether it’s a rambunctious pet or a wildlife rescue in need of special attention. My goal is to make sure every animal gets the best care, and every pet owner leaves with a smile. Let’s just say, when it comes to animals, I’m the person you can trust to treat them like family! Back home, I grew up working closely with animals—caring for my own pets, managing kennels, and even working on wildlife breeding farms where I had the incredible opportunity to care for big cats like lions and tigers. My love for animals only grew stronger over the years, and when I moved to Canada, I was fortunate to receive job offers from PetSmart and PetValue. Unfortunately, schedule conflicts kept me from joining, but I’m excited to now be jumping into the pet care world through the Rover app, where I can share my experience and passion for animals with pet owners here in Canada. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to create a routine that’s familiar and comforting for them. I follow the owner’s guidelines closely whether it’s feeding schedules, playtime preferences, or special care instructions and ensure their environment remains safe and clean. I always make time for exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of affection.
About: I stand out by being attentive, reliable, and tailoring care to each pets needs. I have experience with both energetic puppies and kitties (basic training, routines, and socialization) and senior pets (gentle handling, medication reminders, and slower-paced care). I keep owners updated with regular messages and make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well-loved. Pet care is at the core of my daily routine. I prioritize structured feeding times, exercise, and play sessions, ensuring pets receive consistent care and attention throughout the day. In my client's home, I provide personalized care tailored to their pet's needs. This includes feeding according to their schedule, administering medications if needed, engaging in playtime, and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment. In my own home, I extend the same level of care, ensuring pets feel welcomed and loved while maintaining their routines as closely as possible.

About: I am a caring and compassionate animal lover and have over 10 years of animal care taking under my belt. I have always been my family and friends go to person for a caretaker, dog walker, dog/cat sitter, feeder and or just going to give their fur babies some loving while they are away. I recently completed my Veterinary Assistant course where I can further go into a field that I truly love which is working with animals that give me so much joy. I believe that every animal should be loved and cared for and be treated as their own individual. I am currently just out of my first year of college and off for the summer and extremely excited to have so much time on my hands to play and take care of your adorable pups. For the most part I am pretty flexible with my timings and will work to the best of my abilities to fit your needs. I have one very friendly pup and am very involved with her life I feed her make sure she has adequate water at all times, trained her as a puppy, administer medications as needed at the appropriate timings, walking is frequent, play time is a must with me and light brushing to keep my pup well maintained. Overall the well being of mine and your pets are my top priority and I strive to make each interaction a positive one.
“Paige took care of my dog and cats like they were her own and I didn’t worry at all while I was away. She sent me pictures of them all snuggling together on the couch which made me feel even better about my choice. I would highly recommend Paige to take care of your animals!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our 2 dogs than Sarah! From the moment she arrived, we felt completely confident that our dogs were in great hands. She kept us updated throughout our time away and sent us lots of pictures. When we got back, the house was spotless, and most importantly, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. It was obvious that Sarah gave them lots of love and attention while we were away. She genuinely cares about dogs and making sure they have the best time while we are away! We will definitely be using her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Burlington
Shannon is exactly what we're looking for in a dog sitter for our two fur babies. She was professional, flexible and enthusiastic about taking the best care of our pooches. We got lots of updates and photos while we were away and came home to our house in perfect order and our pooches happy and healthly. We would highly recommend Shannon to take incredible care of your dogs.

Sanchita was a great dog sitter for our 2 year old golden retriever! Communication with her was very easy and she stayed in touch with us throughout our time away. Our pup ended up having an upset stomach over the weekend, so Sanchita went above and beyond at taking her out throughout the hours of the night and early morning. We appreciated everything she did and would recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter!

Emily is amazing! She is super friendly with a lovely, sparkling personality. She has experience with older cats. My cat, Dipsy, is 16 and Emily took great care in following my care instructions. She stayed the whole week in our home, caring for Dipsy when we went on vacation. Dipsy warmed up quickly to Emily. He can be a picky eater, but he ate happily under Emily's gentle care.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burlington walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
