“Amanda and her family took amazing care of Ripley while we were away! From the initial meet and greet to the boarding of Ripley, Amanda made the entire process smooth and a positive experience for Ripley and us.”

“There are really no words to describe how amazing Melanie and her family are. We have never left our fur baby and were so nervous at first. The very second we met Melanie and her husband we knew Leo would be in the best possible hands. She would send us daily updates, one in the morning and one in the evening. Our kids looked forward to these messages and photos she would send so much. It put our mind at ease every single day. Leo wouldn’t eat at first but Melanie was able to find him an alternative so that he would eat. We never doubted that Leo was not well taken care of. Melanie truly cares about your pet as if it’s her own. It is so nice to know that if we ever need to leave Leo he will be going to a loving home and family. Thank you Melanie from the very bottom of our hearts. We were able to enjoy our trip with absolute ease.”

“I cannot recommend Barbara enough! Our dog is always very comfortable in her home. Barbara keeps us updated and takes wonderful care of Boudicca. Thank you Barbara!”

“Anna took excellent care of Vader (Alaskan malamute). She kept in constant communication, sending photos and messages regularly. Vader requires some especial needs, and Anna attended to all meticulously. We are very happy with Anna, and we would definitely leave Vader with her again.”

“Manvi was the first sitter we have ever trusted with Benji and she was absolutely fantastic. We were so nervous about leaving our “baby” but Manvi allayed all our fears. She is a true professional who knows what she is doing and right from the meet-and-greet we could tell she is a caring and careful dog parent who we could trust to care for our little guy. During his visit Manvi sent us daily updates and Benji was clearly having fun. I think he even still misses his friends after coming home! Manvi is a wonderful sitter and we would 100% use her services again. Highly recommended!”

“Cyndy was there in a pinch for me. I felt comfortable leaving my doggo with her. She took him for a run and gave him lots of cuddles. She was communicative and he came home happy. Highly recommend.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Eric and Deborah provided for our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels during their overnight stay. This was a trial run before our upcoming two-week trip to Europe, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. I was especially worried about our dog, Louie, who is extremely anxious and typically struggles when he’s away from us or with unfamiliar people. To my surprise and relief, he settled in with Deborah almost immediately. It was so clear from the updates and photos that both dogs felt safe, comfortable, and right at home. Knowing that Louie adapted so well has given me complete peace of mind about leaving them for our upcoming vacation. That reassurance is priceless. Eric and Deborah are kind, caring, and clearly have a genuine love for animals. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate pet sitters. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of our boys. We are so grateful!”

“Karen had a lovely way with our dog and he took to her immediately. She followed his care instructions to the letter and Louis seemed very comfortable for his visit. She sent lots of photos of our boys time with her.. Karen was wonderful with Louis and we think he will be very happy to visit Karen for another sleep over.”

“Gabriella and Paul were great, they sent lots of updates and were very accommodating when we were late for pickup due to being stuck in traffic. Would definitely recommend them!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Matthew! From the very beginning, communication was clear and professional. Throughout our time away, he sent daily updates along with the sweetest photos of our dog, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear our pup was in great hands and getting lots of love and attention. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog—and that says it all! Highly recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive sitter. We will definitely be booking again! Thank you Matthew!!!”

“Cailynn and Roger were amazing pet sitters! They were very thoughtful and went out of their way to take care of Bowie. Communication was great and you could tell they really care about dogs. Highly recommend!”

“From our first meet and greet, we knew that Marc and Christina were the right family for us to leave Harley with. They treated her like their own with lots of attention, play time with their dog and daily walks. We received photos and videos daily to give us peace of mind of how Harley was doing. Apparently didn't miss us at all!! We highly recommend them to look after your pet. We will most definitely leave Harley with them again.”

“Dear Peter, Lilian and all the family thank you very much for being a family for my dog Molly 💖 while I was in a trip. My dog is very specific and do not allow pet her to the people. But she was happy to stay in Peters family. Peter sent me lots of photos during the day. I am happy to find this amazing, friendly family. Now I now on 200% that I found great friends 💖 Thanks 🤩”

“Maryana and her family welcomed Nara with open arms for a week of stay! Nara was treated like a part of their family and was very well cared for - she will definitely miss the kids lots! Thanks again Maryana :)”

“May and Family are truly exceptional. When my flight was canceled due to the Air Canada strike, I was suddenly stuck and scrambling—but May stepped in like a guardian angel. One of my dogs had just come out of surgery a couple weeks earlier and was on a complicated medication schedule, and she handled it all with absolute care and precision. Not only did she make sure both my dogs were safe, comfortable, and well cared for, but she also sent me daily pictures that brought so much peace of mind. Seeing their happy faces while I was stranded was everything. Her hopeful attitude and calm presence turned a stressful situation into something manageable—and even heartwarming. May doesn’t just walk dogs—she shows up for them (and their humans) in every way that matters. I’m endlessly grateful and couldn’t recommend her more.”

“This was our dog's first experience with a dog sitter and we were ALL nervous! Shelly made us feel very comfortable and took such great care of our pup. We were very grateful to have pictures and updates throughout the evening to reassure us and really appreciated her flexibility, kindness and responsiveness. Thank you very much”

“Maggie and Brian developed a real loving relationship with Max and he recognized it when we arrived. We had a carefree holiday knowing Maggie takes care of every need, walking, playing, loving, and companionship. Wonderful and reliable sitters!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Burlington
This was our first time reaching out to a dog sitter for our dog, Kash, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Cailynn and Roger immediately put us at ease and provided such a loving, friendly, and safe home environment, with plenty of space for Kash to roam around and feel comfortable. They communicated with us almost daily, sending pictures and brief updates, which was incredibly reassuring and allowed us to relax knowing Kash was happy and being well cared for. What a wonderful, loving family to welcome our dog into their home. We are so grateful for the care and attention they gave Kash and would not hesitate to have him stay with Carolyn and Roger again. Kash seemed a little disappointed to be coming home!! Highly recommend Cailynn and Roger and feel very fortunate to have found them.

Kathleen made Lucy feel so at home! I really appreciated doing a meet and greet with her so that when I dropped Lucy off, she ran right over to her. Kathleen asked all the right questions to make sure Lucy felt comfortable throughout the weekend. Lucy loved her time with her and I loved knowing how cared for Lucy was ❤️

Karen took fantastic care of our miniature Dachshund Coco while we traveled to France for two weeks. She was careful to administer her daily medication, and Coco came back home rested, stimulated and well cared for :) We got regular updates, and could not be happier. Thank you so much

This was the first time we left our dog overnight, and felt more comfortable doing it with Renee, based 1st on reviews, then we did a meetup, and then the day of, we explained everything we brought over, and was kept updated and feedback on how our dog behaved with the different normal events of the day, which was fantastic. We also liked the fact that they have a female dog like ours, and children who love animals, and that they know the many different aspects of the dogs. Yes, i would recommend keeping dog with this family, and would keep my dog with them again.

Dog owners who are anxious about leaving their beloved family member with a stranger can be reassured with Shannon. Shannon is professional, responsible, and communicates updates regularly. Her family (and dog Lulu) are all part of a caring team. We’ve left our Lab with Shannon for weekends and 2-week vacations and we were always very happy with the results.

We had a great experience with our dog sitters, Rohan and Mrunmayi! They were very attentive, and the care they gave Rocky was excellent. He was happy and well looked after the entire time. We also loved that their dog, Maaya, was there. Rocky seemed to really enjoy the company! We especially appreciated the regular updates, photos, and videos. It gave us great peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Rocky was in good hands. We would absolutely leave him with them again and highly recommend their services!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
