“Bonnie was excellent with handling our energetic lab puppy. She kept our puppy occupied and happy with toys and walks. Our puppy was completely happy and relaxed after the visit. Highly recommend Bonnie for anyone with high energy puppies.”

“Shawn recently stayed in our home for 2 weeks to look after our 2 boxers . We knew from the meet and greet he would be an excellent fit especially for our girl Eve who was instantly enamoured with him . He followed all the instructions that were given and also administered medication to our senior dog. Eve and Tyson were in absolute paradise as Shawn took them out to play several times daily and gave them lots of love and attention. Our home and our kids were well taken care of and we are extremely happy that all went well . Shawn is truly our dream sitter and we look forward to having him back again. Thank you so much for taking care of Eve and Tyson .”

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always connected more strongly with them than humans. I had 2 cats and a hedgehog when I was growing up. I currently have a 6 year-old golden doodle, Finn. I do all the care for our dog, including feeding, walking and poop scooping, of course. I love long walks(with all the sniffs), playing fetch and a good cuddle on the couch. When it comes to more exotic pets, I don't have much experience. I am quick to pick things up and always looking to try new things/ meet new critters. I am not currently working, so I have a very open schedule for housesitting + regular dog walks. I volunteer during the summer with protecting native turtle with the Heart Lake Turtle Troopers🐢 Though I cannot accept pets into my house, I am able to come to your home so your pet is comfortable and happy. I will ask lots of questions during meet + greets to get an idea of your pet's routine and/or any restrictions. I am very attentive to safety, ensuring pups are kept a safe distance from other dogs, people and everything on wheels. I love going on long walks at their pace to get in all the good sniffs!
“My 2 pups loved their time with Jamie. Would highly recommend. She was friendly did an excellent job. She took my pups to the dog park. They had a great time! I would highly recommend her and will be using her again :)”

About: Hello! As an engineering student, I bring a reliable and detail-oriented approach to caring for your companions. I have been pet sitting for 10 years and have two Labradors and a Norwegian Forest cat of my own. Because one of my Labs is a senior with special needs, I have extensive experience keeping older or high-maintenance dogs safe, happy, and well cared for. That said, I am very active and love to run and play with high energy dogs and cats who need a good run around! Either way, I am keen to learn about how I can best take care of your companion and home. I’m currently working from 9-5 in office Monday - Thursday and online on Fridays. I am available in the mornings, during the middle of the day, and anytime after 5pm for walks from Monday - Thursday. Friday - Sunday I am available all day. I understand that it can be difficult to invite someone into your home to take care of your companions. For that reason, I am very detail-oriented and will treat your home and pets with utmost respect. I am careful to make sure doors are closed and locked properly when I exit, can send photos and videos of your pets and make sure their feeding / medication schedule stays consistent.

“Syd was great watching my dog for the day. This is the first time I’ve left my dog with someone other than family and friends and she warmed up to Syd! She sent updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated, and even cleaned my dogs dishes afterward. My dog was actually sad once she left — a true sign she had a great time. Highly recommend Syd for anyone needing a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

“Très gentille et douce! J'étais rassurée de savoir mon chien en d'aussi bonnes mains. J'avais booké Tiana pour 2 visites dans la même journée à moins d'une semaine d'avis. Elle a accepté de venir me rencontrer avant le jour J et a su me montrer en confiance. Je recommande fortement! Au plaisir de te revoir et merci encore.”

“Lesley was wonderful with our senior pup and kept him so happy while we were out! She was through in understanding what he likes and doesn’t and ensured that he was content and well taken care of. We would love to have her back!”

“I honestly don’t even have the right words to thank you 🤍 As a first-time puppy owner, I was honestly so nervous about leaving my tiny 10-week-old Teddy, especially on such a special day like Eid. But knowing he was with someone as kind, patient, and caring as you gave me complete peace of mind—both in the morning during prayers and in the evening celebrations. The way you looked after him, kept me updated with pictures and videos, and treated him like your own truly means everything to me 🐾✨ You are such an amazing person, and I feel so lucky to have found you. I will definitely be calling you again in the future—Teddy already misses you! 🥹 Thank you for being the absolute best 💛”

Wendy was great with our dog Axel. She was very nice and respectful of our home. She followed all instructions with no issues. She walked, fed, and cuddled with Axel. He felt very comfortable with her. She sent pictures and updates throughout the night. We would highly recommend Wendy to anyone.

We were very pleased with Gurleen’s service. It was the first time that we left our dog overnight and we were delighted to see that everything worked out well. Gurleen is very dependable, has a great disposition, and is excellent at providing the details about our dog’s behaviour. We will certainly seek her services again.

First time user for Rover and went well. Max provided daily updates, lots of pictures and even got close to one of our anxious cats who we give special attention to. Our neighbours told us our Labrador got lots of walks and playtime in the backyard which we were delighted to hear. Planning a trip and leaving pets behind is stressful. Was happy her love of animals made it so much easier.

Jennifer was great with my crew and they obviously felt very comfortable with her from the photos she sent. The updates were appreciated and I knew they were in very good hands! My basset hound is older and struggles in unfamiliar places, so it’s great to have someone like Jennifer who can take awesome care of her in the comfort of her own home. My three animals have a lot of quirks so I appreciate Jennifer’s patience and caring!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brampton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brampton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
