“Liam cared for our cat for two weeks. He sent photos and updates which put our mind at ease. He is responsive and reliable. We would definitely work with him again.”

About: Best friend to a medium sized poodle. Love pets and the outdoors! Looking forward to meeting new friends and walking companion. Friendly to pet owners. Trustworthy. Monday to friday after 4pm is an ideal time for walks and play. I have a flexible schedule within the given available hours. Priority is key. I have a fenced yard to keep your dog safe. I can accommodate preferences like "dog company" or "no dog company" while still enjoying the space.
“Laura (and her partner, Nick) took wonderful care of my anxious dog, Luna. Laura provided daily updates, administered Luna’s anxiety medication, and carefully followed the routines and protocols we have in place for her separation anxiety. It gave me great peace of mind knowing Luna was well cared for and genuinely loved. Luna enjoys spending time with Laura and Nick whenever I’m away. I highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter, especially if you have an anxious pup!”

“Will is an amazing sitter! Very communicative, sent texts and photos every day, and took very good care of our cat while we were away. Our very shy and timid cat Peanut loved him and was in very good spirits when we returned from our trip! Will also cared for our home while we were away and kept it very clean and tidy.”

“Selena was great! She kept us well informed throughout her stay with Margot, also being proactive in her communication when it seemed Margot wasn’t feeling 100%. Selena also left our house in amazing shape upon leaving!”

“Stephanie did a great job of looking after our fur babies Kona and Sapporo. They were both happy and comfortable with her. She quickly recognized that Kona's chronic respiratory problem was flaring up and got him to the vet quickly for treatment and was able to give him insulin injections twice a day. We definitely recommend her especially if you have pets with special needs.”

About: Save $20 on your first booking with me at: https://www.rover.com/sit/lorim19053, and use the code: LORIM19053 to get the discounted price! ********************************************** Hello! My name is Lori, and I am definitely an animal lover! I have two kids, both highschool/university age, and this is my only job, so your pup(s) will receive my full attention! A few years back, we lost our beloved golden retriever to cancer, and it left a big void in our lives, so being able to spend time with any dogs is very special to me; it is not a chore! I live in a somewhat rural area called Hillsburgh, with lots of trees and fresh air. (There is also a private wooded trail that runs through my property) I have a Welsh pony named Stormy, of which your dog(s) will have no contact for safety reasons, but she is very friendly. I am a grade 1-6 teacher, but not currently teaching at this time. Just send me a message and let me know how I can help. I can't wait to meet you and your pets!
About: We are a family of four: Kristen, Jeff, Vaeda (born May 2025) and Maggi (mini schnauzer rescue). We have a welcoming and fun home & go on hikes often. Maggi is a big scaredy-cat when it comes to humans, but loves to meet new fur friends and can’t wait to meet yours! Your pup will have a friend in her for sure! We are happy to accommodate your pups needs and are excited to get to know their quirks! Our Daughter, Vaeda is also excited to meet your pup, though she’s much to small to play just yet! We keep her and pups at a safe distance always. I (Kristen) work from home most days (1-2 days in office), so your fur baby won’t be left alone for long most days. We are usually home on weekends and tend to go hiking when possible in the area. If your pup loves to walk, we love to bring them along! We usually feed our pup in the mornings and give treats in the evenings when training (Maggi is a work in progress, we love training her new commands)! My husband (Jeff) takes the dog on morning walks, while I (Kristen) take her out after work around 5/6pm. Walks are usually 30 mins to 1 hour in length around the neighbourhood or a nearby park. Whenever possible we are outside on our back deck and Maggi joins us when she’s interested in company. Maggi is a lovely pup and she plays well with other dogs!

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our 2 dogs than Sarah! From the moment she arrived, we felt completely confident that our dogs were in great hands. She kept us updated throughout our time away and sent us lots of pictures. When we got back, the house was spotless, and most importantly, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. It was obvious that Sarah gave them lots of love and attention while we were away. She genuinely cares about dogs and making sure they have the best time while we are away! We will definitely be using her again.”

About: Hey there! I’m here to help you with all your pet care needs! I am a true animal lover, I have a dog of my own named Aria who is literally my world alongside my son. Growing up I had my family dog, Sushi, and my two cats, Bella and Sylvester. I have been caring for animals since I was very young and it truly is one of my passions. I have been dog walking for about 10 years now. It started out just walking a couple friends dogs and now I am on Rover. If you’d like to know more about me and my pet experience feel free to message me and I always encourage a meet and greet whether in person or on video chat, before we move forward with our booking :) thanks for reading! I am a nursing student in a hybrid program. I am at home most of the time, I have a dog myself so I am home most of the time caring to her and my young child! I ensure that all dogs/cats get the privacy or walks that they need. Every animal is different and I adjust my care to each animals needs. We take every safety precaution and since I have a dog, it’s always strongly recommended we do a meet and greet before hand to ensure everyone gets along!

“Lisa is just AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING. She took care of my dog at my place for a full week and my dog was so well taken care of... when I came back he was healthy and happy and hadn't missed love for sure as Lisa completely showered him with love and attention. Lisa is also very professional and 100% trustworthy. I highly recommend her.”

“Syd was great watching my dog for the day. This is the first time I’ve left my dog with someone other than family and friends and she warmed up to Syd! She sent updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated, and even cleaned my dogs dishes afterward. My dog was actually sad once she left — a true sign she had a great time. Highly recommend Syd for anyone needing a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

“Chellan was an absolute dream of a catsitter! They kept my place tidy, responded to my (admittedly disjointed) pre-trip messages, and sent me lots of pics of the cat playing and being happily adored while I was gone. I came home to a very happy kitty :) thank you again Chellan! 10/10 do recommend”

About: I’m a compassionate and experienced dog caregiver with over 15 years of hands-on experience caring for my own beloved pug through every stage of her life. In her senior years, I provided consistent medical and mobility care, including administering medications, ear and eye drops, using inhalers, assisting with post-surgery recovery and wound care, and offering gentle joint massage to support her comfort and movement. That experience taught me how important patience, routine, and close observation are - especially for senior dogs or those with special needs. I understand that every dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their habits, energy levels, and cues so they feel safe, calm, and well cared for in my presence. I’m happy to offer boarding, house sitting, and dog walks. Whether your dog enjoys quiet companionship, short and gentle walks, or simply needs someone attentive and reliable to maintain their routine, I provide care that’s calm, loving, and dependable. I’m especially comfortable caring for senior dogs, dogs recovering from illness or surgery, and pets who need medications or extra support. Your dog will be treated with the same respect, patience, and affection I gave my own - because I know they’re not just pets, they’re family. I work from home in my own business, which gives me excellent flexibility and allows me to be home most of the day. This means dogs in my care receive frequent attention, supervision, and companionship, with plenty of flexibility for walks, feeding schedules, medications, and individual needs. My home is calm and comfortable, with full attention for your dog. I live in a main-level condo with direct street access, making walks and potty breaks easy - perfect for senior or mobility-challenged dogs. Your dog’s routine, meals, treats, and water are followed carefully. I’m located across from a park, nearby scenic walking routes, abundant green spaces, and a fenced dog park - providing plenty of safe outdoor time and play.
About: I have three years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, including traveling for in-home pet sitting assignments. Being entrusted with pets in their own environment has strengthened my sense of responsibility, consistency, and attention to detail. I’ve worked with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels, which has taught me how to manage behavioral challenges calmly and adapt to each animal’s specific needs. I’m confident handling unexpected situations and responding appropriately in urgent or emergency circumstances. My priority is always to provide safe, reliable, and attentive care. I’ve cared for multiple pets within the same household, including siblings ranging from puppies to senior dogs. Managing different ages at once has strengthened my ability to adapt to varying energy levels, routines, and care requirements. I understand the patience needed for young dogs and the attentiveness required for seniors, and I’m confident in providing balanced, consistent care for each stage of life. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine in the evenings and for overnight stays. I’m available for consistent check-ins, feeding, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable and settled. I’m reliable with timing and enjoy ending my day caring for animals in a calm, attentive way. I care for pets in my client’s home by maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable in their own space. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter cleaning, playtime, and any special care needs. I’m respectful of the home, keep everything clean, and provide updates so owners feel at ease while they’re away. I focus on creating a calm, trusting environment for each pet.
“Sherry stayed overnight in our home for 7+ days to care for our senior cat Muni. We previously had a bad experience with Rover, so I was very cautious about working with a cat sitter again. Sherry was easy to communicate with and kept us updated with photos and videos. Muni looked so happy and affectionate, and warmed up to Sherry right away. She followed instructions, got our mail and even watered our plants. When we got back, our home looked just like we left it. Thank you for caring for Muni!”

About: I have pet sat for people in my neighborhood and a few friends for quite a few years now! From young puppies to more senior dogs I’ve done it all! I can check in on your dogs during the day to show them some extra love, or take them out for walks when they need it! My schedule is currently wide open so I am very flexible to check in on your pets any time of the day, for a walk or to give them some extra love! When in a clients house I make sure I am very respectful and careful of their things. Only taking treats, leashes, food and things that would be left out for me! I will also make sure to clean up after your pet if anything were to happen as well!
“Ashley is great! She took the time to do multiple meet and greets with our reactive doggie before dogsitting for us for 2 weeks. She sent us daily updates and kept our doggie busy! She kept our house cleaner than when we left it and did more than we expected.”

“Rayvnne was amazing! She kept me in the loop with my animals and sent photos frequently during my trip. She did a courtesy meet up beforehand to make sure that my animals were a good fit for her services and was accommodating with my dog’s reactivity. I absolutely recommend her to look after your fur kids!”

Gayle and Liam stayed in our home with our dogs while we were out of town for the weekend. Beforehand, they came to meet our two GSPs so they could get acquainted. Instantly, I could tell they were dog lovers and that they understood canine behaviour. I was still a bit anxious leaving my doggies overnight for the first time, especially because of their health issues but Gayle and Liam were wonderful! They followed the routine and administered medications without any issues. We received updates and photos and our house was left clean and in order. Will definitely be a repeat customer! They are great!

Kaia was amazing. Our pups truly enjoyed their time with her. She took them on travels, stayed with them for the week and kept the house in good order. Couldn’t ask for more than that. We would highly recommend Kaia. She’s trustworthy and honest, caring and thoughtful and truly has the best interest of your pets at heart.

I cannot see how much I appreciated having Emma with my boys. She gave me so much peace of mind as I have never left them with anyone other than family. My little old guy who is 16 years old and fragile was treated like gold and absolutely loved Emma, which was evident from the pictures and feedback I got all weekend long.from My little anxious one loved Emma as soon as she walked in. There’s just something about her that dogs love. Thank you so much Emma, I was able to get away with peace of mind

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 837 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Orangeville. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orangeville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orangeville walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orangeville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 79% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
