About: I've taken care of dogs since I was young and really enjoy spending time with, and caring for my furry friends while their human is away. It's comforting to be able provide peace of mind to my clients and quality care for their animals, while they are out of town. I have lots of time to spend with your pets in the mornings before work and then late afternoon/evenings and I am available weekends all day. I am available to provide care for your pets in your home. Most of my clients have left me a rundown of their pet's feeding and walking schedules, any medications they may need and what they enjoy most as well as any additional information that will help me become acquainted with their pet quickly and easily. I follow all directions as given.
“Thank you Ethan, from the first time I reached out, you replied back within 15 minutes and right away assured me that you were able to take care of Rosie. We met prior to the date and you were professional, caring and right away made Rosie feel comfortable. You sent me pictures and updates on her stay with you and were very attentive to replying to me if I checked in. Thank you again Ethan and Rosie will be back for sure!”

“Jacobe responded very quickly to my last minute request when another sitter had to cancel last minute. He made a trip to meet myself and Millie before the booking was confirmed so we could make sure Millie and I were comfortable with him. He took very good care of both Millie and my friend's dog Buddy, sent lots of photos so we could see how it was going and left everything in great shape, including a couple of tired, happy dogs. I would definitely book him again in the future.”

My current job requires me to care for 2 dogs and a cat all day! I do work full time but am available early in the morning or anytime after 5 on weekdays! During the weekend I do have more flexibility available :) I currently have two cats that have full free roam of my house. I have watched multiple dogs, I do have easy access to a trail for long walks!

I ensure that all dogs/cats get the privacy or walks that they need. Every animal is different and I adjust my care to each animals needs. We take every safety precaution and since I have a dog, it’s always strongly recommended we do a meet and greet before hand to ensure everyone gets along!

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life. From barn animals, to wild, as well as our indoor furry friends - I’ve mingled with just about every animal in Ontario. I love their personalities and teaching them new tricks - I also have experience working with senior animals and know that they need even more extra love and care. Working with me means working with someone who wants to love your animals just as much as you do! Currently, I’m a freshman in college working towards a graphic design degree! (I also offer design services 😉) I am able to balance my classes quite well - I am available full time in the fall/winter/early spring, along side attending classes. I work a seasonal position in the summer, but would still love to help out with your furry friends! My home has a large fenced in, dog proof yard - plenty of space to run and play. My dogs have made their own daily running route! They obviously get fed daily, as well as walked. There is a large dog friendly park about 5 minutes away from my house as well. Currently, I am also in the process of training one of my dogs at home - so there is some equipment I have that can be used for training (IE - lead, treat bag, training leash, toys, etc)
“Rayvnne was amazing! She kept me in the loop with my animals and sent photos frequently during my trip. She did a courtesy meet up beforehand to make sure that my animals were a good fit for her services and was accommodating with my dog’s reactivity. I absolutely recommend her to look after your fur kids!”

“Bridget took great care of my 2 dogs and cat while I was away on vacation. She took the dogs for long walks and made sure all the pets were cared for. Would definitely recommend!”

“Brittany was such a wonderful puppy sitter! She interacted with our Joy in so many positive ways, from supporting her with lots of T.L.C. during her first time away from us during our holiday, play time, regular dog walks, reinforcing her puppy training and daily photos and updates. We are deeply appreciative of Brittany's warmth and kindness for Joy and ourselves. We send our heartfelt thanks!”

“Davrielle was amazing with my 2 fur babies! During the week I was gone, I received daily communications and pictures/videos from Davrielle, letting me know my 2 cats were taken care of. Davrielle's tone of voice to my cats in the videos was so sweet, making it easy for my cat with anxiety to feel more comfortable with her each day. My cats also get daily medications and 1 gets a puffer each morning, so the attention to detail and care Davrielle took was so very appreciated. I came back to a clean apartment - and Davrielle had even re-washed the bedding/towels! I would highly recommend Davrielle to any pet owners. Thank you Davrielle! - Holly & Maow”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Shelburne on Rover is $43.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

As of July 2026, there are 384 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Shelburne. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Shelburne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Shelburne walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shelburne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
