Information Michael L. would like to know about your pet
Here’s a list I use for any service I offer to help me provide the best care for your furry companion! By knowing these details, I can provide your dog or cat with a comfortable and safe environment that closely aligns with their regular routine and needs! 1. FEEDING ROUTINE: What and when does your dog/cat eat? Are there any dietary restrictions or allergies? 2. MEDICATIONS: Are there any medications your dog or cat needs to take, and if so, what's the dosage and schedule? 3. HEALTH ISSUES: Does your dog or cat have any known health issues or specific medical needs? What's the contact information for your vet? 4. EXERCISE REQUIREMENTS: What's your dog's typical exercise routine? How often and for how long does your dog need to be walked? 5. BEHAVIOUR AND TRAINING: Are there any specific commands or behaviours your dog responds to? Any training techniques to be aware of? 6. COMFORT & HABITS: Does your dog or cat have a favorite toy, bed, or blanket? Any specific habits or routines your dog or cat follows? 7. SOCIALIZATION: How does your dog interact with other dogs, animals, and people? Any situations to avoid? 9. DAILY SCHEDULE: What's your dog's usual daily routine? When does your dog usually go to sleep, poop, play and eat? 10. ANXIETY & FEARS: Are there any specific triggers that might cause anxiety or fear in your dog?
A typical day
Every dog is different, and I tailor each walk to match your doggo’s energy, personality, and routine. Maybe you dog needs to wake up, have a belly rub or play before the walk. Whether it’s a peaceful stroll through the neighborhood or an adventurous trail walk (with your permission, of course!), I make sure your dog gets the exercise and stimulation they need. I work with you and your dog to determine if it’s the same route your pet likes or day-to-day variety. Of course I make sure they “go” and pick up after them. I typically walk dogs on-leash for safety, but I’m open to off-leash walks if your dog is trained and you’re comfortable with it. Dog park or fenced in yard (i have one), just let me know your preferences — I’m flexible and committed to making sure both you and your dog feel confident and cared for. Does your dog have a favorite toy or game? I’d love to incorporate that into our time together. Play is a great way to burn off energy and build trust. After the walk I can provide a treat and feeding as required. I also offer basic grooming like brushing and bathing, so you come home to a fresh and happy pup.

Reviews

Mike has been walking Arthur for a few weeks now. Always reliable, communicative and prompt... not to mention that Arthur really likes him!
Michael was amazing taking care of our 2 cats and 1 dog while we were away. Including all the little quirks each one of them have. Detailed notes and pictures, provided after each visit. Would entrust our pets to him again

We hired Mike to walk our 2y/o dog named Ripley. I’ll admit I was trepidatious at first—trusting someone with my puppy; that’s a big deal! I had so many worries going through my head, but Mike’s easy going, calm and friendly demeanour helped put my anxieties at ease. We hired Mike for a 3 day, morning, noon and night walk with Ripley. He was prompt and on time—every time. I even had to alter the time of one of the walks last minute and he was flexible and able to accommodate! He was also great at capturing photos of Ripley enjoying his walk which was really cool to see, as well as the route they took—which is a great feature on the app. We will definitely be asking Mike to come back. He did everything we asked; wiping paws 🐾 when coming home, not going on trails due to tics etc and not taking Ripley on third line or busy roads. This was our first experience on Rover but it won’t be our last. If you need a dog walker Mike is a pleasure to work with!

We hired Michael because we needed more help with our energetic puppy!! He was great from the moment we met him; and Ripley (the dog in the situation) also approved 🩵 Michael was easy to work with and talk to. He showed up on time which gave him extra points…as these days people are usually late. So far Michael seems to really love dogs and Ripley seems to really love his new friend as he warmed up to him pretty quickly. We love our dog unconditionally so it was hard for me to let someone else take the reins especially since Ripley is still so young. So many unknowns can happen on a walk; however we had discussions about other dogs, little ones (children), skunks and coyotes. Michael seemed knowledgeable in how to handle these situations should they arise. Also Ripley loves to get into garbage….anything on the ground is fair game. Michael’s previous experience was definitely an asset; as he was able to point Ripley in the right direction and away from most things found on the ground! Altogether the experience was positive!! Thanks Michael 🐾
