About: Currently working aboard! Will be back summer 2026 to take on new fur babies request! Use code “ANGELL17007” to get CA$20 off your first booking with me on Rover: https://www.rover.com/sit/angell17007 I will love your fur baby as much as you! I've loved dogs since I could speak. Growing up we had a farm and I ve taken care of 9 dogs and 6 cats. I ve taken care of dogs ranging from large breed German Shepards, Samoyed, golden retrievers, to small breed chiwawa and pugs. My experience has allowed me to become excellent at reading canine body language and advocating for their needs, especially anxious dogs. You can trust me with your pets because I will make sure to spend lots of time playing and caring for them. You will also receive regular photos updates to help ease your mind because I know first hand how hard it could be sometimes to be away from your baby. We will work together to make the experience as fun and enjoyable as possible. I m currently doing freelance from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means I can do last minute walks/drop in visits if you need! I love spending time with fur babies and will make sure to have plenty of time for your pet. ❤️ Please let me know you and your pet's schedule and needs and hopefully we can work something out! 🐱 I am happy to visit your cats in your home for feedings, playing, litter scoops and cleaning around the litter box. 🐶 If you have a dog and want a break, I would love to take your dog for a 1.5 - 2 hour walk. As you can see in the pictures, my dog mango is a gentle and friendly golden retriever, he gets along with any dogs from chiwawa puppies to German shepherd, and he is great with cats too, giving them lots of space and not interrupt their quite lifestyle. I live an active lifestyle and often go on long walks or jogs in the forest/parks. I love to have four legged company (bonus: tired dogs = good dogs). I plan walk routes and play tailored to your pets unique needs and comfort levels, and I will always follow your special care instructions to care for them the best way possible, because I know your baby deserves the best❤️

“Susan did such a wonderful job taking care of Arlo! I loved that she always communicated, replied back quickly, sent picture and fostered a caring environment for Arlo - he definitely fell in love with her :) I really recommend Susan as your pet sitter she is wonderful!”

About: I bring over 20 years of hands-on animal care experience, starting with volunteering at Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre, where I worked with a wide range of animals including birds, small mammals, and wildlife in need of rehabilitation. That experience taught me patience, gentle handling, and how to adapt care to each animal’s personality. At home, animals have always been part of my everyday life. I’ve had my own cat for over 14 years, so I’m very familiar with routines like feeding schedules, litter care, and respecting a pet’s need for space (or sudden 3 a.m. zoomies). I also regularly help care for my boyfriend’s dog, so I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, and keeping up with energetic pups as well. I’m calm, reliable, and attentive, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality — whether they’re cuddly, shy, independent, or “I only like you on my terms.” My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I currently work part-time as a crisis worker at SHN hospitals, working about 3 shifts per week. This schedule gives me a lot of flexibility and availability throughout the week, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Because of this, I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care and can easily adjust my routine to fit your pet’s needs — whether that’s regular walks, drop-ins, or longer stays. I’m reliable, consistent, and able to provide attentive care without rushing. Pet care fits naturally into my lifestyle, and I genuinely enjoy spending my extra time with animals, so your pets will always get my full attention and care when I’m with them. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priority. I bring years of hands-on animal care experience, including volunteering with a wide range of animals, which has taught me how to stay calm, observant, and responsive in all kinds of situations. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routines, triggers, and personality to make sure they feel secure and understood in my care. I’m attentive to detail when it comes to feeding, walks, medication instructions (if needed), and general safety. I provide a calm, respectful environment where pets can feel relaxed and at ease — whether that means quiet companionship for more anxious animals or structured activity for energetic ones. You can trust that your pet will be treated with the same care, patience, and respect I give my own animals, and I always communicate clearly so you feel confident while you’re away.

“We feel so lucky to have found Silvia to housesit our two dogs, Milo and Calida. She not only took incredible care of them, but also our home. We were away for two weeks, and she provided updates and photos consistently, and followed their routine (including the chore of keeping a greyhound warm in winter) and feeding instructions perfectly. It was also a particularly cold, snowy, then wet and muddy two weeks. Any dog owner knows it’s challenging to keep paws and floors clean with that weather. When we returned from our trip, the house was spotless, and the pups were happy. The day after she left, I found them lying in the guest room, where Silvia stayed. Definitely a sign that they missed their new friend. We recommend Silvia wholeheartedly to take care of your pets!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Scarborough
We hired Brenda to take care of our two cats. She was an exceptional house sitter and took really good care of our pets. Our cats look even better when we got home than they did when we left. Our older one kind of gained a bit of weight, which is great and their coats looked really healthy. It was really nice to feel like we could fully be present in our vacation and not worry about our pets because of Brenda.

Joanna was fantastic! She looked after our Golden Doodle who is has anxiety and my quirks. Not only did she provide excellent care where I felt confident being away but with her understanding of animals was able to meet my Dog where he was at and create a bond with my Dog where he felt less anxious. I would highly recommend her and so grateful to have met her as she is a kind person with a love for animals!

Silvia was absolutely amazing and we loved having her here with Pluto! She was attentive, took him on several extra walks/long walks, and ensured to keep us updated several times a day without us having to ask! She is very knowledgeable about dogs, and even our neighbour said how great she was with Pluto! We came home to a clean house and a happy puppy. I will definitely be booking with her again!

While I was away Lindsay kept me fully up to date on the status and health of my fur baby. Even sent me a few pictures which were really appreciated. I definitely hope Lindsay is available to house and pet sit for me on any future get always. Thank You Lindsay!!!

Sayon dog sat at my house and took care of my 50lb dog Odin who has separation anxiety. His calming presence really helped and he took Odin for a walk as well. I really appreciated Sayon being communicative, confirming earlier in the day we were still all set, showing up on time, being a calming presence to my anxious doggo and making us feel like Odin was in very good hands. Its hard to leave your furbaby with someone new but I highly recommend Sayon!

FAQs for House Sitting - Scarborough
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Scarborough on Rover is $47.73 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 3,898 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Scarborough. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Scarborough maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Scarborough walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Scarborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
