“Lily was wonderful with my senior dog Bella. She was very accommodating and professional. Bella is a senior pup with many health issues and I felt completely comfortable having Lily in my home to look after her. Lily asked a lot of questions and made sure that my instructions for medication administration was clear to her. I would highly recommend her to care for your fur baby. I will be using her services again!”
“Mary’s the best! She was incredible with our crazy 18 month old boxer. She made us feel so comfortable, wanting to understand our dogs routine perfectly and provided constant updates. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience 😊”

“Ting-wei was absolutely amazing. Our little girl has separation anxiety and it was our first time using a sitter. She was absolutely amazing. She kept her calm and updated us with pictures. She followed evey instructions. We will 100% be using her services again and recommend her.”

About: We are a couple wfh, who provide calm, attentive, and reliable care, treating every pet as if they were our own. We’re very mindful of routines, potty schedules, and feeding times. I’ve had dogs since I was a child, so I understand that every dog has a unique personality and benefits from a personalized approach to care. My husband also grew up caring for pets, including a dog, hamsters, a turtle, and birds, which has helped us develop patience and attentiveness with different types of animals. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Since we work from home, we're able to structure our day around walks, potty breaks, feeding times, playtime, and companionship, ensuring pets are never left alone for long periods. In our apartment, pets are free to move around and relax comfortably. There is also a balcony where they can enjoy some fresh air during the day. We live in a calm, family-friendly neighbourhood, with a nearby park that’s perfect for walks and outdoor time.
“Nicole has been amazing with our 2 cats! This was her second time cat sitting. Our cats are shy and don’t always like strangers but she is great with them and they look comfortable from all the photos she sends us. Nicole is also very quick with communication :) will definitely continue to use her services!!”

About: Cat, dog, and all around animal person who has pet-sat for friends and family. Growing up, I've developed great skills for caring for small mammals as well as small to medium sized dogs and cats over the last few years. I'm currently working contract and backfill positions so my schedule is flexible. I'm available for house sitting most weekends and weekdays after 4 pm as well as day visits and walking most weekdays. I diligently follow your pets' schedule, ensuring their routine remains consistent. I'm more than happy to go outside for walks, rain or shine. Above all, I believe in providing regular updates so that you can enjoy your vacations stress-free (bonus: I take great pictures).
“Weini gave me lots of updates and I heard good things from my dog park friends that pepper was vey well behaved with Weini! I trust them to take care of pepper and know she is in good care.”

About: Since childhood, I have always been around animals. I grew up with a Rottweiler for a sibling, cared for a relative's guinea pigs, walked dogs with my best friends, and watched my pet fish give birth when I was 10. I travelled all over the city to spend time with friends' cats during my teenage years, which really contributed to my love for pets (and later influenced my decision to adopt my own). I have had the privilege of spending time with and finding comfort in the company of animals of all shapes and sizes. I have a diverse understanding of individual pet needs, personalities, and care routines with all the wonderful pets I had the pleasure of spending time with. What sets me apart from others is that I am comfortable with pets of any size and age, big or small. My flexible job allows me to engage with your pet and care for them as they need. I have always had a positive experience with animals, and I have found it easy to engage and care for them. I am committed to providing your pet with the care, attention, and love they deserve while you’re away (no matter how long it may be), and you will receive lots of cute photos and updates from us until your return! I am currently working a remote and flexible job that allows me to travel and manage my responsibilities from anywhere. I can travel as needed to care for your pets, whether it is for overnight or day visits. I can adjust my schedule to fit the needs of your pets, whether it is waking up early to go for a walk at sunrise or staying up late with a night owl (no pun intended). As a person, I am very kind, loving, caring, and patient, and I believe your pets deserve these qualities in someone who is spending time with them. I am committed to providing them with the care and comfort in their own home, an environment they are already familiar with, and following the same exercise, feeding, and playtime routines they receive from their caregivers. I take great care in attention to detail in all aspects of my life, and I will ensure that the requests and instructions provided for caring for your pet will be followed with the same level of commitment. I understand that for pets, being away from their owners can be difficult (and vice versa), and I want them to feel safe and loved in my care. I am happy to stay in your home and take care of your pet where they are most comfortable - I’m a tidy person and will never leave a mess in your space. Feel free to make requests or ask any questions, and we can discuss further.
“This was our first time using Rover, and Jillian made it a great experience! She was right on time and immediately our dog Mylo felt comfortable with her. When we got home Mylo was happy and clearly very well taken care of. We will absolutely be booking again!”

“To start with, thank you so much for taking care of Bella and accepting the sit on such a short notice. The moment Sabrina came through the front door for the meet and greet Bella reacted like seeing an old friend and she got attached to Sabrina like a Velcro. At the meet and greet Sabrina ask all the right questions regarding Bella’s routine, likes and dislikes. She is very professional and super friendly and accommodating. She sent us very detailed messages accompanied by lots of pictures and videos. When we retuned home Bella was a happy girl and after Sabrina left she kept looking for her. I whole heartily recommend Sabrina, especially to people like me who hesitate a lot when it comes to trusting anyone with the care of their fur baby. Thank you again Sabrina!”

“I can’t say enough about Elizabeth! She was so attentive to all of Wally’s needs. My 3 year old golden doodle definitely has his challenges. Elizabeth and I discussed all of his needs and she gave him the best care possible! She is so loving and because of that I was able to go away and know that he was in perfect hands. I got daily messages and photos which was really special. I can tell how much love Wally was getting!! Elizabeth also took such good care of the house. And when our flight was delayed she refused to go until we got home. We all call her auntie Elizabeth!! She is the next best thing than us to take care of Wally. I completely trust her and appreciate how much she loves animals. Thanks Elizabeth for all your kindness and care. ❤️ 🐶”

“I was a bit apprehensive leaving my cat Timmy for the first time after moving to Toronto. Nejla put my fears to rest. She kept Timmy very happy and provided me with tremendous comfort with lots of updates and so many pictures. She left the condo in great shape too. I highly recommend Nejla for anyone seeking a pet sitter.”

“Yuliya took amazing care of our sweet fur babies 🐱 + 🐱 while we were away! She sent lots of updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind, and when we got home, our cats were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. As an added bonus, our place was absolutely spotless when we returned, which we really appreciated. We would highly recommend Yuliya to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter for their fur babies while they're away! 🥰🥰”

“Angela was great with Una, kept her company while I was away for work... Angela was kind and attentive with Una which gave me peace of mind... she played with her and took great care of Una daily ... Una really enjoyed having Angela around to have fun with. 👍 😁 Thanks again!!”

“Janelle was absolutely fantastic and one of the best sitters we've ever had. She was incredibly attentive to Willow and Shiloh, and it was clear they felt comfortable, happy, and well cared for with her. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish, with regular updates that gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She treated our home and our dogs with genuine care, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would 100% book Janelle again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable sitter. Thank you, Janelle!”

“Andrea was an attentive and amazing house sitter while I was away with my family on vacation. She took great care of my two cats - one of which is a kitten & provided great communication and feedback on how they were doing over the weekend. I would happily book with Andrea again.”

“Thank you as always! Dogs and home very well taken care of, lots of loves and even a very special ball present for the dogs! Excellent communication, felt very comfortable that everyone was happy while I was away. A++++”

“Sherry stayed overnight in our home for 7+ days to care for our senior cat Muni. We previously had a bad experience with Rover, so I was very cautious about working with a cat sitter again. Sherry was easy to communicate with and kept us updated with photos and videos. Muni looked so happy and affectionate, and warmed up to Sherry right away. She followed instructions, got our mail and even watered our plants. When we got back, our home looked just like we left it. Thank you for caring for Muni!”

“Mardi was just great with Walter, our energetic Border Terrier. She looked after him in our home. Mardi was punctual, very responsible and took good care of Walter, feeding him, playing with him and taking him out. Mardi has a lovely personality and I highly recommend her as a dog sitter.”

We can’t thank Solana enough for the incredible job she did looking after both Petunia and our home while we were away. Leaving everything behind for an extended trip can be stressful, but from the moment we met Solana, we knew we had made the right choice. She treated Petunia with so much love, patience, and care. The updates and photos she sent while we were away meant so much to us and made it easy to relax, knowing Petunia was happy, comfortable, and being treated like one of her own. When we returned home, our house was spotless and exactly as we had left it. It was clear that Solana had taken exceptional care of both our home and our beloved pup. Solana is kind, trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely passionate about what she does. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for Petunia, and we would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a dog and house sitter. Thank you, Solana, for giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. We will absolutely be reaching out to you again in the future!

We have booked Nicole multiple times, our dogs love her! We have three dogs of varying ages, and I feel so confident leaving them in Nicole’s care. She sends regular pics, lets us know how they are doing, and is SO clean and tidy in the house. I hate leaving my dogs behind, but at least I have the comfort of knowing they are being well cared for.

Steffany was fantastic! Our dog has separation anxiety and can be quite reactive, yet she was quickly comfortable and happy with Steffany. Our 3 year old was very concerned about who our dog's "new friend" would be, and whether they would take good care of her. Thankfully, Steffany went above and beyond to make Luna feel loved and cared for before we left and while we were away. She was inquisitive and openminded with all the instructions, quirks, and suggestions for keeping Luna safe and happy. Her attention was wholly and lovingly focused on Luna the whole time. We are so grateful that we could leave for a few days knowing that our house and beloved pup were in responsible, kind, and trustworthy hands. Thanks Steffany!

Nejla was the perfect catsitter keeping both my energetic senior and needy 3 year old entertained during my trip to NL for a week! She kept the place clean, took plenty of pictures to put my mind at ease. Followed clear instructions in finishing my senior's antibiotics and keeping the bowls and trays cleaned every day and sticking to a routine feeding schedule. Anyone looking for a reliable and considerate cat-sitter need look no farther than the lovely Nejla!
Mary Elizabeth has taken care of our 2 chihuahuas (Ayden and Abby) twice now and each time I’ve always felt confident our babies (and home) were in great hands. Abby can be quite fearful and closed off but Mary Elizabeth has a real gift for reading energy and was able to connect with Abby quickly, on her own terms, and that alone means the world to Abby and us! Thank you Mary Elizabeth for your unique and connective care (all round). We are grateful to have you on our team!💗

Tania literally was our savior! We were desperate to find a house sitter last minute since we had many cancellations. Tania made the effort to meet us the day before we were leaving and was very accommodating. She followed instructions to the "T" and went above and beyond the basics that were necessary to take care of our home and Cooper. She provided multiple updates daily with photos and videos to make us feel very comfortable that everything was being cared for perfectly. I would highly recommend Tania to anyone looking for a house/pet sitter in the future, she will do everything in her power to make sure that your home and pets are taken care of the same way you would do yourself. Thank you so much Tania for your help and love you showed towards our home and Cooper. We will most definitely be using you again in the future! All the best.

Again, Sabrina didn’t disappoint! Amazing care and love shown to Bella. She even brought her a toy, which of course Bella enjoys very much. Sabrina goes above and beyond when it comes to fur babies trusted in her care and she also makes sure that their parents are kept up to date with everything that is going on. She is the only sitter we trust to care for Bella when we are away. Thank you Sabrina for your love and support!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Willowdale on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,037 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Willowdale. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Willowdale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Willowdale walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Willowdale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
