Elizabeth is amazing. It's been a while since we have been able to book her to watch Rocky but he remembered her and was comfortable right away. She brought him a treat and takes great care of him while we're away. Elizabeth is responsible and is easy to get in touch with. She's our first choice for sitters!

About: I love all types of animals. I know how to train little puppies and I’m pretty sure I did a great job in training my own fur baby! I will make sure to keep them busy and active. I am fully experienced in administering medications for both dogs and cats. Always on top of cleaning their food and water bowl and providing fresh water and make sure they have full and easy access to food and water at all times. Fully experienced with bathing small dogs. Comfortable taking dogs for a walk. Also, my favourite activities are puppy yoga, cat yoga, goat yoga and visiting animal farms and sanctuaries. At the moment, I have a full time job. I am free after 6:00PM on weekdays and fully available on weekends. I love to spend my free times with animals. Caring for pets in my house or a client’s house involves various tasks such as feeding, providing fresh water, exercising, grooming, and cleaning up after them. Additionally, offering companionship and attention to ensure their well-being and happiness is essential. It is very important to follow any specific instructions provided by the pet owner regarding their routines, dietary needs, medications, and any special requirements. Regular communication with the owner about the pet’s behavior and any concerns is also important for maintaining trust and ensuring the best care possible.

Nicole was so incredibly attentive and considerate of my dogs (3) and home. I was on a 2 week vacation which ended up getting extended to 2 and a half and on very short notice she accommodated. I also have a disabled dog who she ensured was properly cared for. I received many photo and text updates as well to keep me informed and comfortable. I’m extremely happy with her service and I will definitely be booking with her again!

About: Hi there! My name is Janis, and I am a newly graduated veterinarian. I have had a lifelong love for animals and years of practical hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I am currently offering dog walking, dog sitting, and pet care services with a very flexible schedule before I begin full time veterinary work at the end of July. Thanks to my extensive veterinary training and clinical experience, I am comfortable caring for pets with medical needs, administering medications, monitoring senior pets, and helping anxious animals feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, a shorter stroll, playtime and enrichment, cuddles on the couch, or just a calm reassuring presence, I tailor my care to what makes them happiest. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your animal. I’ll always treat your pets like they’re my own, and keep you updated with plenty of photos and communication while they’re in my care! Id love to meet you and your furry family members! I start full time veterinary work at the end of July. Until then, my schedule is extremely flexible and am happy to cater to anyone’s needs. Once I start to work, we can discuss more concrete times. I always aim to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved as possible while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home for drop-ins, walks, or sitting visits, I do my best to stick closely to their normal routine so they can feel relaxed and secure in their familiar environment. As a newly graduated veterinarian, your pets safety and wellbeing are always my top priorities. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages and personalities, including puppies/kittens, anxious animals, senior pets, and those with medical needs. I’m also trained to recognize subtle signs of stress or illness, which gives many owners extra peace of mind when trusting someone with their furry family member. For dogs, I priority safe walks, secure leashing/harnessing, hydration, enrichment, and lots of positive attention. For cats, I understand the importance of patience, calm energy, and respecting each cat’s individual comfort level. I know how nerve-wracking it can feel leaving your pet with someone new, so communication is huge for me. You can always expect regular updates, photos, and honesty throughout my visits. My goal is not only for your pets to be well cared for, but genuinely excited to see me again!

This is our 4th time booking with Sophia, and she was amazing as always!! Our flight got cancelled and rebooked for 2 days later and she was extremely flexible and accommodating. It was a huge relief in a stressful situation to have her be there for us and our cat, Ziggy. She sent us constant updates, pictures and was responsive with any questions we had. We always come back to our place looking better than when we left it, and most importantly, with Ziggy happy and healthy 😸 We genuinely could not ask for anything else!

I'm so grateful that I chose Pedro for pet sitting my babies during my 3 week vacation. He stayed home with them for the time and took care of them as his own pets. Eva and Battu were welcoming to him during our meet and greets before his stay, and they were more than comfortable with him during the stay. Pedro shared pictures and videos twice a day, and I could see how Eva and Battu would play, watch TV and sleep with him. He coordinated well with us for their feeding schedule. He went above and beyond to clean up the house on the last day of his stay. I would love to book him again for my babies.

About: I love noticing the little things. ✨ Every pet has their own personality, preferences, and routines, and I enjoy discovering what helps them feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. While you're away, I care for your pets with a calm, attentive presence, always respecting the home and routine they know. Sometimes the smallest adjustments can bring a little extra comfort... a cozy blanket, a favourite resting spot, or simply following their lead. I love taking the time to notice those things, because they can make all the difference. 💗 Cats: I take a calm, intuitive approach, giving cats space when they need it, and connection when they seek it. My goal is to help them feel safe, seen, and relaxed while you’re away. As a volunteer with a local cat rescue, I’m continually deepening my understanding of feline behaviour, body language, and how to support each cat’s unique personality. Dogs: I care for dogs with a calm, attentive presence, tuning into their energy, whether they’re playful, curious, or more relaxed. With regular walks, play, and companionship, my goal is to help them feel secure, happy, and at ease in your absence. I’d love to connect and learn more about your pet. If it feels like a good fit, we can schedule a *Meet & Greet*, so I can meet you and your pet in person and help everyone feel comfortable. Pet care is a natural and meaningful part of my life. I'm currently available for pet-sitting in your home. Consistent, reliable care that caters to your pet’s needs. I'll care for your home and pets with the same respect and attention I'd give my own. During each stay, I will: - Follow your pet's established routine - Keep your home calm, clean, and secure - Send regular updates and photos - Monitor behaviour, appetite, litter habits, and overall well-being - Administer medications and provide extra support when needed - Care for multiple cats and senior or special-needs pets - Bring in mail, water plants, and handle small household tasks as requested Your pets' comfort, safety, and routine are always my priority.

About: I am a friend to cats and dogs alike. I have taken care of my own cats, I've done cat-sitting, and dog-walking before. I have good intuition for how a pet communicates its needs. I currently work part-time near my house. I'm available in the evenings on weekdays after 6:00pm, and during the weekends from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. I can do quick check-ins on the pets, feed them, or walk them if needed. I am great at playing with pets and giving them the physical attention that they consent to. I feed my cats a mixture of soft food and wet food. I make sure not to overfeed them, even when they meow for more food. As for my clients, I review with them if their pet has a special diet, schedule, or temperament. It's good to know how each pet is food-motivated versus attention-motivated. I ask clients about their pets' diets and how much treats to give.

About: I’ve always been a dog person, even though I wasn’t allowed to have one growing up — so caring for dogs now feels like my way of making up for lost time. Dogs have always naturally gravitated toward me, and I’m very intuitive with them. I tend to pick up quickly on their body language, energy, and comfort level, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and building trust at their pace. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. I’ve participated in training with both of the dogs I care for and apply what I’ve learned through consistency, structure, and calm handling during daily walks and visits. With my own dog, Stitch, I’ve adjusted his care as he’s gotten older and now manage his routine around a leg injury. That experience has taught me a lot about patience, pacing, and making sure dogs still feel engaged and cared for as their needs change. I’ve also spent the past two years sitting and caring for a husky rescue named Cocoa. Through regular routines and consistent handling, she became comfortable and reliable on walks and in outdoor settings, including appropriate off-leash situations. This has made me especially comfortable caring for higher-energy dogs while still respecting the routines they’re used to. I take the time to understand each dog and follow the owner’s preferences closely. My focus is on providing calm, reliable care so dogs feel comfortable and owners feel at ease knowing their dog is in good hands. I finally have the time and flexibility to do something I’ve always loved — spending time caring for dogs. I’m available during the day, as well as evenings and weekends, for walks, drop-in visits, and in-home care. I enjoy being reliable and present, and I love being able to help make life a little easier for busy dog owners while making sure their dogs get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I treat every dog and every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’m mindful of routines, instructions, and boundaries — from feeding schedules and walking preferences to medications and comfort levels. When I’m in a client’s home, I focus on keeping things calm, clean, and familiar so dogs feel safe and settled. On walks, safety always comes first, and I stay attentive to surroundings, leash handling, and each dog’s body language. I understand how important trust is when leaving your dog with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is for you to feel at ease knowing your dog is happy, cared for, and in good hands.

About: I have been lucky to enjoy 10+ years of experience looking after dogs (and cats) of different breeds and sizes. I currently work a hybrid remote job, where my office days are Mondays and Tuesdays, please keep in mind on those days I will be away from home for 6-8 hours. Pets are free to roam my entire apartment and have access to all rooms and furniture unless otherwise instructed. I live in a secure condo, with a beautiful area downstairs for walking pups, and a bathtub I'm happy to share for post-adventure clean ups. Pet care is of the utmost importance to me, I prioritize physical and mental stimulation and I am dedicated to ensure your pet is both safe and happy during their stay. I also only accept 1-2 dogs per booking a day, so they will never feel any lack of attention. I treat all pets as if they were my own, with care, protection and respect. I yap to them regularly and truly get myself good and attached, I miss them so much when they leave! I have lots of space in my condo and pets are allowed on all of my furniture as their comfort is very important to me.

Alina was wonderful and very responsible. She came and stayed with my Siamese cat and my little dog. She took great care of them and Alina sent me pics and updates everyday. This is the first time I have left my babies with anyone and she made me feel at ease. They slept with her and got attached to her very quickly. My little dog, Chichi, is a finiky eater and she made sure that he ate his food daily. She sent me pics of his food before and after he ate everyday. Alina was home with my pets everyday. She did not leave alone. I should mention that my home was full of boxes as I am moving but she worked around them. Would I ask her to watch my pets again? Absolutely...Would I recommend her to my friends and family? In a second. Again thanks Alina, you are truly amazing.

It was good to finally connect with Crystal. We felt she really took a liking to Harley when we met over the summer, and Harley seemed quite comfortable with her. Harley is 17 and blind. She may not see you, but she sure seems to know when she's safe. When we briefed Crystal this morning, Harley was right there at her feet (perhaps just waiting for us to leave?). When we finally did leave, Harley was lounging on Crystal's lap. They had a busy day, including a walk to one of our regular spots, a few naps and she was comfortable enough to go about her usual business of exploring. I don't know if we were missed or not. Thank you, Crystal, for your patience and calmness watching our girl.

FAQs for House Sitting - Vaughan

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Vaughan on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 4,084 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vaughan. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vaughan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vaughan walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vaughan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
