“Tatiana was amazing! She watched our very anxious dog for eight days and was exceptional. She was patient in letting our nervous pup get to know her over the first day or two and never pushed past her comfort zone. She sent constant updates with photos and videos, and they went on many beautiful walks and hikes. At the end of the eight days they were well bonded and we came home to a very happy dog! I would definitely rebook Tatiana in the future.”

“Sophia took great care of our dog Miso and cat Otis (overnight) when we were away. She was very punctual, both for initial “meet and greet”and then on the day of. Miso really warmed up to her immediately. She sent regular updates and pictures of our pets. Also Sophia followed the instructions we had noted regarding the feeding and breaks. We will surely have Sophia as the sitter for Miso and Otis in future.”

“Didem was lovely! Super easy to chat with and warm and friendly. She stayed at my place for 3 nights and my cat instantly liked her, which is all you can hope for leaving them with a sitter.”

“I booked Song for a day to watch Hunter in my house while I attended an all day conference. Song took fantastic care of Hunter and was very communicative with me during the day. I would certainly book her again in the future and highly recommend!”

About: Growing up with dogs since age 12 gave me a foundation in canine behavior and care. I've developed my skills by regularly walking, feeding, and bathing friends' dogs, including Labs, Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and Border Collies. My athletic background makes me uniquely suited for high-energy breeds. I've successfully worked with reactive dogs who need focused, one-on-one attention during walks. My running ability allows me to provide the intensive exercise these dogs need when off-leash time isn't suitable. Recently certified in Pet First Aid through Canadian Red Cross (July 2025). I also share my home with two cats (ages 2.5 and 1.5), so I'm comfortable with multi-pet households. I understand that energetic breeds need both physical exhaustion and mental stimulation to be truly satisfied, and I incorporate both into every walk. As an incoming grad student with a flexible timetable, I'm building my pet care business around my academic schedule. Currently available weekday afternoons from 3 PM onwards, with excellent availability through August. Once the fall semester begins, I'll maintain afternoon availability and may add morning slots depending on my class schedule. I'm committed to maintaining regular walking schedules with my clients and will provide advance notice of any schedule changes. Pet care fits perfectly with my lifestyle as an active person who needs daily exercise myself. Walking dogs isn't just a job for me, it's part of my daily fitness routine, which means your dog gets an enthusiastic, energetic walker every single time I focus exclusively on professional dog walking services to ensure each dog receives my full attention and the best possible care. During walks, I: - Keep dogs securely leashed unless in designated off-leash areas (with owner permission) - Carry Pet First Aid supplies and fresh water - Avoid busy roads when possible, preferring quieter residential streets and trails - Never walk more dogs than I can safely control - Send photo updates so you can see your pup having fun I maintain constant vigilance for potential hazards like aggressive dogs, traffic, or items dogs might ingest. With my Pet First Aid certification, I'm prepared to handle emergencies while immediately contacting both the owner and nearest vet if needed. My athletic ability ensures I can maintain control even with strong, excitable dogs, keeping your pet safe throughout our time together.
“Elizabeth came into my own and gave me such piece of mind . She was so kind and thoughtful for our little ones . Went out of her way to take videos and send photos daily. She even ordered our dog a little dog a new bed as a gift when hers was being used. I would trust her like family in my home and would of course use her again for our dogs . Rover should have more stars for her ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏”

“During our trip, Peter was incredibly helpful in taking care of Dodo. Rain or shine, he always made sure to take Dodo out for walks and showed great responsibility. He is also an outstanding and genuinely friendly person, with fast communication and a thoughtful attitude toward our needs. Thanks to him, we were able to see updates about our dog anytime even while we were away. We highly recommend him!”

“Jessica provided exceptional care for my dog Parker! She was attentive, loving, and ensured Parker had everything he needed. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“It was good to finally connect with Crystal. We felt she really took a liking to Harley when we met over the summer, and Harley seemed quite comfortable with her. Harley is 17 and blind. She may not see you, but she sure seems to know when she's safe. When we briefed Crystal this morning, Harley was right there at her feet (perhaps just waiting for us to leave?). When we finally did leave, Harley was lounging on Crystal's lap. They had a busy day, including a walk to one of our regular spots, a few naps and she was comfortable enough to go about her usual business of exploring. I don't know if we were missed or not. Thank you, Crystal, for your patience and calmness watching our girl.”

“It was a pleasure to meet Hedi. We knew we could leave Harley in her care with no worries. Hedi's first update was that Harley had fallen asleep and slept on her lap for two hours soon after we'd left. Harley obviously knew she was in safe hands. I've added her photos to Harley's album.”

“Ashley was great. She really helped us out with a dog minding emergency. She was great at communicating, sent lots of updates, and took very good care of our boys and the house. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

About: I have been lucky to enjoy 10+ years of experience looking after dogs (and cats) of different breeds and sizes. I currently work a hybrid remote job, where my office days are Mondays and Tuesdays, please keep in mind on those days I will be away from home for 6-8 hours. Pets are free to roam my entire apartment and have access to all rooms and furniture unless otherwise instructed. I live in a secure condo, with a beautiful area downstairs for walking pups, and a bathtub I'm happy to share for post-adventure clean ups. Pet care is of the utmost importance to me, I prioritize physical and mental stimulation and I am dedicated to ensure your pet is both safe and happy during their stay. I also only accept 1-2 dogs per booking a day, so they will never feel any lack of attention. I treat all pets as if they were my own, with care, protection and respect. I yap to them regularly and truly get myself good and attached, I miss them so much when they leave! I have lots of space in my condo and pets are allowed on all of my furniture as their comfort is very important to me.
About: I treat every pet like family and provide safe, loving, and reliable care. I'm patient, attentive, and happy to follow your pet's routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and oral medications if needed. Whether caring for puppies, senior pets, or energetic dogs, my goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. Pet care fits well into my daily routine, allowing me to provide consistent attention, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate weekday, evening, and weekend bookings whenever possible. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your care instructions, keep pets in a clean and secure environment, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I respect your home, maintain your pet's routine, and provide regular photo and message updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Jasmin was amazing. She did more than expected and sent pictures walking my dog and was very communicative. She treated him extremely well and I would recommend her at the highest level.”
About: I love all types of animals. I know how to train little puppies and I’m pretty sure I did a great job in training my own fur baby! I will make sure to keep them busy and active. I am fully experienced in administering medications for both dogs and cats. Always on top of cleaning their food and water bowl and providing fresh water and make sure they have full and easy access to food and water at all times. Fully experienced with bathing small dogs. Comfortable taking dogs for a walk. Also, my favourite activities are puppy yoga, cat yoga, goat yoga and visiting animal farms and sanctuaries. At the moment, I have a full time job. I am free after 6:00PM on weekdays and fully available on weekends. I love to spend my free times with animals. Caring for pets in my house or a client’s house involves various tasks such as feeding, providing fresh water, exercising, grooming, and cleaning up after them. Additionally, offering companionship and attention to ensure their well-being and happiness is essential. It is very important to follow any specific instructions provided by the pet owner regarding their routines, dietary needs, medications, and any special requirements. Regular communication with the owner about the pet’s behavior and any concerns is also important for maintaining trust and ensuring the best care possible.
“Best dog sitter ever, like Mary Poppins for dogs! Annette was absolutely amazing with Maddy and Louie. She didn’t just watch them, she truly cared for them, played with them, and made them feel safe and loved. She sent regular photo updates, which made me feel so reassured while I was away. Most importantly, the dogs actually missed her when she left! I couldn't ask for a better sitter. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve looked after my Yorkie-Poo for 14 years and I absolutely love animals! I will make sure to take great care of your beloved pet, guaranteed! I have a pretty open schedule, currently looking for work which makes me a perfect candidate for walking or sitting for your pet! I am very flexible and willing to meet your schedule and needs regarding your best friend(s) :) I am unable to host dogs in my own home but would be able to care for your dog as needed in your home. I’m very respectful of your requests and house rules, what you say goes!
“We have booked Nicole multiple times, our dogs love her! We have three dogs of varying ages, and I feel so confident leaving them in Nicole’s care. She sends regular pics, lets us know how they are doing, and is SO clean and tidy in the house. I hate leaving my dogs behind, but at least I have the comfort of knowing they are being well cared for.”

Liny was fantastic! We had only ever used drop in services before and our cat always hid from them and was an anxious wreck by the time we returned We decided to try housesitting with Liny and she was great! Before we had even reached the Cottage we had rented she had sent photos of her and our cat Riggs cuddled up, and all of my worries were gone! She kept us updated throughout the week and it was a worry free experience! We would definitely use her again. She’s incredible!

I'm so glad I found Ann on this website. She's a very kind and friendly girl! My dog was happy with her; she found the right approach for him. I was very pleased that she took the time to send me updates with photos. Everything went very smoothly and without stress for my dog😍🥰

We cannot say enough good things about Ruhani and Sagar. They took amazing care of our 2 year old bully/lab mix over the weekend and we were anxious to leave him but they were so reassuring, sending us plenty of updates, and keeping our baby in his routine! They took wonderful care of our home as well. They truly seem like naturals and we really felt walter missed them as soon as they left! We feel so much better about leaving him the next time we go away. For the crazy dog parents we are, they really put us at ease. Highly recommend to anyone!

Alina was wonderful and very responsible. She came and stayed with my Siamese cat and my little dog. She took great care of them and Alina sent me pics and updates everyday. This is the first time I have left my babies with anyone and she made me feel at ease. They slept with her and got attached to her very quickly. My little dog, Chichi, is a finiky eater and she made sure that he ate his food daily. She sent me pics of his food before and after he ate everyday. Alina was home with my pets everyday. She did not leave alone. I should mention that my home was full of boxes as I am moving but she worked around them. Would I ask her to watch my pets again? Absolutely...Would I recommend her to my friends and family? In a second. Again thanks Alina, you are truly amazing.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Vaughan on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 3,993 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vaughan. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vaughan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vaughan walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vaughan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 81% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
