After moving out to university, I've found myself ending up, in one way or another, fostering cats that have unfortunately ended up with nowhere else to go. Showing stability, consistency, love, and respect has so far earned me beautiful bonds with every cat I've spent time with, whether in my own home or in the homes of others. I'm confident I can take care of your little loved ones and hopefully make your stay away from your home and pet(s) at least a little bit easier! I currently work from home / online, so I can be available any day / time to care for your pet. For overnights / if you'd like me to stay for multiple days, I would bring my laptop to work (I do not use audio / video for my job). So really, the flexibility of my current schedule would likely make booking me easier for you! Since I live in a basement apartment (with 2 cats), I wouldn't be available to offer services out of my own home. However, I make it a habit to take care of daily hygiene (eg. cleaning litter boxes, brushing, nail clipping depending on temperament, etc.), feeding according to instructions and schedules, and ensuring pets get an adequate amount of play and exercise. I've found that the more play and activity an animal does during the day can greatly impact their temperament and sleep.

I'm also very mindful of your furry friend's food allergies or sensitivities. And I love to support any training that you already have going on. I have my own almost 2 year old sassy girl. My default though, for walks and in home visits will be to attend without her so that your doggy gets 100% of my attention. If you’d like to have a playmate for your dog though, let me know and I’ll be happy to bring her (she loves playing or walking with other dogs). Alaia was fantastic tending to my mom’s 2 senior cats while she was on vacation (and on fairly short notice). Her detailed updates kept us reassured that they were very well taken care of. She was also able to administer twice daily medication to one of the cats with ease. We highly recommend Alaia and would definitely use her services again!
Lisa and Ben were great with our cat during their visits. She’s usually pretty wary of strangers, but at the meet and greet she walked right up to them, which made us feel really comfortable right away. Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
