About: I love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable and happy while they’re in my care! I know every pet has their own routine and little things that make them feel at ease, so I’ll always take the time to learn what works best for them. Whether your pet loves going on walks, playing, getting attention, or just having someone around, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away! I have a flexible summer schedule, so I’m able to spend lots of time with the pets I care for! I’m happy to provide them with attention, playtime, walks, and lots of company while you’re away. My goal is to make sure your pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for while you have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands! I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet and your home in someone else’s care. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully, whether that includes feeding, walks, medications, or anything else your pet needs. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would want for my own and will send updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away!
“Christina was great. You could tell how comfortable my dog was around her from the start. Great communication and took the time to learn his routine. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Jessica is a wonderful doggie sitter 5 +++stars! We have 3 dogs so she had her hands full ! Jessica was so amazing with them as one of our boys is elderly at 16.5 years old and needed a little more tlc. Jessica went above an beyond with them & we couldn't be more thrilled and happy they were looked after so well. I think the dogs wish she was still here instead of us with all of there extra attention they received . We would hands down book Jessica again for our next trip.”

“Finding the right person to care for your dogs is never easy, especially when you have two energetic six-month-old puppies. Deborah exceeded every expectation. Her energy matched theirs perfectly, and it was clear from the start that she is not only a wonderful caregiver but also highly experienced with young dogs. What impressed us most was her commitment to maintaining the training and routines we had been working so hard to establish. That consistency was incredibly important to us, and it gave us complete confidence that our puppies were in excellent hands. Deborah was also exceptionally flexible and accommodating as our travel plans unexpectedly changed throughout the week. Her willingness to adjust her schedule without hesitation made an already stressful situation so much easier. We returned home to two happy, well-cared-for puppies, and we are genuinely grateful for the care, professionalism, and peace of mind Deborah provided. We would recommend her without hesitation and look forward to having her care for our dogs again.”

“Bozhena took great care of our Weimaraner (and our home) while we were away for a week! We appreciated the daily updates and photos - it made us feel so much less anxious. She kept to our dog’s routine, tired her out with long walks and provided so much love. Bozhena loved our pooch as if she were her own. We’re so glad we’ve finally found someone we can trust.”

“Solana was an amazing cat and house sitter!! She gave our two boys lots of attention during her stay. We were updated each day with pics and/or short videos of Davey and Cecil. When we returned, the place was left SO tidy. We’re happy Solana is already booked for our next trip!”

“Laura took excellent care of both our cat and our home. She was very communicative and sent us regular updates about how our sweet girl, Ophelia, was doing while we were away. She also went above and beyond to tidy up our place before leaving. We will definitely be booking her again. Thanks Laura!”

“Lorena and Mark did a great job in keeping everyone (a dog, a cat and - not to forget, albeit less work intensive -our fish) happy and healthy. We were in the know at all times with many visual updates daily.”

“Ashley was a great communicator and kept us updated with lots of photos of our cat while we were away. She left our home clean and tidy, and we came back to a happy pet. Highly recommend!”

“Amy was really amenable for meet & greet. Very good with Toby upon meeting him and his eccentricities. I came home to find Toby comfortable and the house was in as good or better condition than I had left it before my trip. I would have great peace of mind leaving Toby in her care again!”

“Our dog Teddy had a great time with Bill while we a were away for two weeks. He took such good care of both him and our house! He gave very regular updates and photos and always was available if there were any concerns. Thank you Billl!”

“Selena house sat for us (two dogs and a kitty) over a weekend. All animals immediately fell in love with her. The communication was fantastic, and it was clear that everyone was well taken care of. Thanks Selena! :)”

About: I went to college for Veterinary Assisting in 2019, and have had various experiences. I've worked in Vet clinics and hospitals and frequently pet sit for friends and family. I have a huge love of animals of every kind! From the furry, to the scaly, and even the feathered! I have experience working with animals from all stages of life, as well as furry friends with specialized diets. Put your faith in me and you won't be disappointed! I have full availability for your furry friends when I’m not at other pet sitting jobs! I am super flexible so feel free to send me a message to see if our schedules align :) This is dependent on the species, breed and what their specific needs are. For example, in college, I owned 2 rats who needed consistent enrichment activities, regular baths and grooming, as well as all the love and snuggles they wanted! They both lived 2 very long happy lives up until and even past their life expectancy. I now own a large and thriving aquarium which I love and adore.
“We had to leave 15 year old fur baby for 3 weeks and we left him in Michelle's care. She followed all our notes that we had left and was proactive in letting us know how he was doing. Michelle took not only took care of our furbaby, but our plants and our home very well. Happy to have Michelle look after our guy anytime!”
“I highly recommend Hayley to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet while they’re away. She is fantastic with my 16 month old pup Fawn, who can be both hyper and skittish at times. Fawn responds so well to Hayley’s calm but fun energy. I couldn’t be happier with her services.”

“Andrea took amazing care of our dogs! She respected our space, ensured the dogs had everything they needed and allowed us to have stress free time away from them knowing they were well taken care of! If you are looking for a pet sitter, you should definitely choose Andrea!”

“Jade took wonderful care of our two dogs and our home when she stayed for overnight dog sitting. She kept in touch quite regularly and sent pictures and video. I felt very comfortable they were safe in her capable hands.”

“Tatiana watched our dog Sadie for a full day in our home. We appreciated all of the updates and photos she provided throughout the day and it was clear Sadie really liked her too!”

Lia was absolutely wonderful with Charlie! She cared for him for three days in our home, which allowed him to stay comfortable in his own environment. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and adorable photo updates, which gave us such peace of mind. It was clear that she was caring, responsible, and genuinely attentive to Charlie. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Lia look after him again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful pet sitter!

Ella house sat and watched our two big dogs for a week. The boys had loads of fun, great walks, and the house was really clean when we came home! We have a reactive anxious dog and she was able to accommodate his crazy :) - would def recommend and we will be using again.

I'm so grateful I found Amanda on Rover. I can tell by the pics she sent me how comfortable Cornie felt with her and I'm so grateful. It's always difficult to leave my baby and all the updates made it so much easier. I'll definitely be booking Amanda in the future.

Jessica seemed to a wonderful job looking after Emma. This was our first experience with a private dog sitter. Emma told me she did a good job walking her in a timely fashion. The only thing that Emma(the dog),was that she did not think that she got enough food. 😁. Over all we were very pleased with the whole experience. 👍

Anna was a wonderful sitter for my two pups. They had an amazing time and were well cared for and tired out by the time we got back. She kept us updated throughout the day and sent lots of pictures of their happy faces. I would definitely recommend Anna to anyone looking for a sitter.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newmarket maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newmarket walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newmarket choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
